Chaos Drops are one of the best free rewards in Brawl Stars right now, and Brawl-O-Ween is handing them out everywhere: Scary Coffins predictions, the Creator Coffins event, Luckiest Days and the free weekly drop on the Supercell Store. But most players have no idea what the odds actually are, or why one drop sometimes turns into eight.
This guide covers the official numbers, taken straight from Supercell's Chaos Drop Chances support page and checked on October 25, 2026. You get the rarity and split chances, every reward in every tier, the math on your real odds of an Ultra Brawler, and the main ways to get more Chaos Drops this season.
Quick answer (TLDR): A Brawl Stars Chaos Drop is always at least Super Rare. The official rarity odds are Super Rare 52%, Epic 28%, Mythic 12%, Legendary 6%, Ultra 2%. Each drop also rolls a split: 70% stays as 1, 20% splits into 2, 8% into 4, 2% into 8, and every split drop shares the same rarity. That works out to about 1.58 rewards per Chaos Drop on average. Ultra is the only tier with Buffies (26.74%) and Ultra Brawlers (0.53%). Compared with a regular Starr Drop, a Chaos Drop is 4x more likely to be Legendary or better (8% vs 2%).

What is a Chaos Drop in Brawl Stars?
A Chaos Drop is a supercharged Starr Drop. Supercell added it in the December 2025 "Buffies" update (Update 65), and it has two features normal Starr Drops don't have:
- A higher rarity floor and ceiling. It can't land on Rare. The worst outcome is Super Rare, and it adds a sixth rarity above Legendary called Ultra.
- Splitting. When you open it, a Chaos Drop can split into 2, 4 or 8 drops of the same rarity.
Here's how Supercell describes it on the official support page:
"Rarer, flashier, and stuffed with outstanding rewards! Chaos Drops are a supercharged version of Starr Drops with a new rarity level. These bad boys have a chance to split into 2, 4, or even 8. Each Chaos Drop contains 1 reward. All split drops share the same rarity, so you could receive 8 Ultra Chaos Drops!" (Supercell Support, Chaos Drop Chances)
Each split drop holds one reward, so a 4-way Mythic split means four separate Mythic rewards.
What are the Chaos Drop rarity odds?
These are the official rarity chances. In Supercell's words, "unlike regular Starr Drops, Chaos Drop rarity tiers range from Super Rare to Ultra."
| Rarity | Chance | Rough frequency |
|---|---|---|
| Super Rare | 52% | About 1 in 2 |
| Epic | 28% | About 1 in 3.5 |
| Mythic | 12% | About 1 in 8 |
| Legendary | 6% | About 1 in 17 |
| Ultra | 2% | 1 in 50 |
So 20% of Chaos Drops are Mythic or better and 8% are Legendary or better. For comparison, Supercell's Starr Drop Chances page lists regular Starr Drops at Rare 50%, Super Rare 28%, Epic 15%, Mythic 5%, Legendary 2%, with no Ultra tier at all. For the full breakdown of regular drops, see our Brawl Stars Starr Drops guide.
How often does a Chaos Drop split?
The split is rolled separately from the rarity. All the drops you get from a split share one rarity.
| Result | Official chance | Rewards you get |
|---|---|---|
| No split | 70% | 1 |
| Split into 2 | 20% | 2 |
| Split into 4 | 8% | 4 |
| Split into 8 | 2% | 8 |
Do the math (0.70×1 + 0.20×2 + 0.08×4 + 0.02×8) and the average Chaos Drop pays out 1.58 rewards. That's the biggest reason Chaos Drops are worth so much more than Starr Drops. You get better rarity and about 58% more rewards on average.
The dream result is an 8-way Ultra split: 2% Ultra × 2% eight-way split = 0.04%, or 1 in 2,500 Chaos Drops.
What rewards can you get from each Chaos Drop rarity?
This is the full official reward table. Each column adds up to 100% and shows what one reward of that rarity can be.
| Reward | Super Rare | Epic | Mythic | Legendary | Ultra |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Coins | 100 Coins: 51.61% | 200 Coins: 40% | 500 Coins: 15% | – | – |

| Epic Skin | – | – | – | 12.20% | 5.35% |
| Mythic Skin | – | – | – | – | 2.14% |
| Legendary Skin | – | – | – | – | 1.07% |
A few things stand out:
- Super Rare and Epic are resource drops. Coins or Power Points make up 92% of Super Rare rewards and 80% of Epic rewards.
- Mythic is where Brawlers start. There's an 18% chance of a Brawler (Epic or Mythic) and a 25% chance of a Gadget.
- Legendary is mostly upgrades. A Star Power is the single most likely result at 42.68%.
- Ultra is the jackpot tier. It's the only place a Chaos Drop can give a Buffie or an Ultra Brawler (currently Kaze or Sirius; the August 2026 release notes renamed the Ultra Legendary rarity to Ultra, but Supercell's odds table still uses the old label), and about four in five Ultra rewards are a Hypercharge, a Buffie or a Mythic Brawler.
Supercell has adjusted the skin odds since launch. Most recently, on April 22, 2026, the skin chances in Mythic, Legendary and Ultra Chaos Drops were lowered, with the other rewards raised to compensate (per the Brawl Stars Wiki change history). The table above is the current official version, checked October 25, 2026. Some columns add up to 99.99% or 100.01% because Supercell rounds each entry.
What are the real odds of getting an Ultra Brawler from a Chaos Drop?
Low. Here's our estimate from the official numbers. The first column is the chance for one single reward. The second is the average number you'd expect per Chaos Drop once splits are counted (single-reward chance × 1.58). The last column turns that into how many Chaos Drops it takes, on average, to get one. These are averages, not guarantees, and they're before fallbacks, so a Brawler you already own turns into Credits.
| Outcome | Chance per single reward | Expected count per Chaos Drop | Average Chaos Drops per hit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Any Brawler | 4.53% | 0.072 | About 14 |
| Legendary Brawler | 0.36% | 0.0057 | About 175 |
| Buffie | 0.53% | 0.0085 | About 118 |
| Ultra Brawler | 0.0106% | 0.00017 | About 6,000 |
The Ultra Brawler figure is 2% (Ultra) × 0.53%, multiplied by the 1.58 average rewards per drop. Even a player who opens a couple of Chaos Drops every day would need around eight years to open 6,000. Don't plan around pulling Kaze or Sirius from Chaos Drops. A Buffie (on average one per ~118 Chaos Drops) or a Mythic Brawler is far more realistic.

What happens if you already own the reward?
You get a fallback reward instead. The official fallback table is:
| Duplicate reward | Fallback |
|---|---|
| Gadget | 500 Coins |
| Star Power | 1,000 Coins |
| Hypercharge | 1,000 Coins |
| Epic Brawler | 500 Credits |
| Mythic Brawler | 1,000 Credits |
| Legendary Brawler | 1,000 Credits |
| Ultra Brawler | 1,500 Credits |
| Rare / Super Rare Skin | 100 / 200 Bling |
| Epic / Mythic Skin | 500 Bling |
| Legendary Skin | 1,000 Bling |
| Buffie | 1,000 Power Points |
This matters more for big accounts. If you already own the Brawler you roll, a "Legendary Brawler" result becomes 1,000 Credits. Credits go toward your next unlock in Brawler Blast. Once you've unlocked every Brawler, Supercell's Fame support page says Credits "now progress your Fame" instead.
How do you get Chaos Drops in Brawl Stars?
These are the main legitimate sources as of Season 55 (Brawl-O-Ween, October 2026):
- Daily Wins. Your first six wins each day pay out a reward each. On a normal day one of those six is a Chaos Drop. During Brawl-O-Ween some days swap that slot for a Pumpkin Box. On a rare Luckiest Day, five of the six Daily Win rewards are Chaos Drops and the sixth is a Coffin Box (per the Brawl Stars Wiki Daily Wins table).
- Trophy Road and the Brawl Pass. Both include Chaos Drops among their reward tiers.
- The Supercell Store freebie. Throughout Season 55, a free Chaos Drop has been showing up on the Store roughly once a week. Log in with your Supercell ID at store.supercell.com and claim it. See our Brawl Stars Store guide for how Store rewards reach your account.
- Brawl-O-Ween events. Guessing a Scary Coffins reward correctly paid 1 Chaos Drop (that phase runs until October 26). For the Creator Coffins event (Oct 26–29), Supercell's preview art shows 5 Chaos Drops as the top Day 1 reward tier. Full details are in our Scary Coffins guide.
- Official reward links. Supercell occasionally shares link.brawlstars.com vouchers worth a Chaos Drop on its socials. These expire fast, and they're tracked in our Brawl Stars codes page.
One warning: no website or app can generate Chaos Drops or Gems for you. "Free Chaos Drop generators" are scams built to steal your Supercell ID. Only claim rewards inside the game, on store.supercell.com, or through official link.brawlstars.com links.
Chaos Drop vs Starr Drop: which is better?
Chaos Drops win on almost every progression metric. Here's the side-by-side using both official odds pages:
| Starr Drop | Chaos Drop | |
|---|---|---|
| Lowest rarity | Rare (50%) | Super Rare (52%) |
| Mythic or better | 7% | 20% |
| Legendary or better | 2% | 8% |
| Ultra tier | No | Yes (2%) |
| Can split | No | Yes, 30% of the time |
| Average rewards per drop | 1 | 1.58 |
| Buffies possible | No | Yes (Ultra only) |
| Ultra Brawler possible | No | Yes (0.53% of Ultra) |
There's one small trade-off. Regular Starr Drops can give pins, sprays, player icons and XP Doublers, which Chaos Drops don't include. If you're collecting cosmetics, Starr Drops still matter. For progression, Chaos Drops win easily.
How do you get the most out of your Chaos Drops?
- Never skip the first Daily Wins. The Chaos Drop sits inside your first six wins of the day. Win six games daily and you'll never miss one.
- Play hard on Luckiest Days. Five Chaos Drops in one day equals almost a week of normal Daily Wins.
- Claim the Store freebie every week. It's the only Chaos Drop that needs zero gameplay.
- Don't count on a pity timer. Supercell's odds page lists fixed chances with no pity or bad-luck protection. Every drop rolls the same table, and nothing published suggests that saving drops or opening them at a certain time changes the result.
- Know where duplicate Credits go. Duplicate Brawlers turn into 500–1,500 Credits, which push your next Brawler Blast unlock (or your Fame, if you own everyone). Our Brawl Stars tier list shows who's worth unlocking right now.
FAQ
What are the Chaos Drop odds in Brawl Stars? Supercell's official odds are Super Rare 52%, Epic 28%, Mythic 12%, Legendary 6% and Ultra 2%. Separately, each Chaos Drop has a 70% chance to stay as one drop, a 20% chance to split into 2, an 8% chance to split into 4 and a 2% chance to split into 8.
What is the best reward from a Chaos Drop? An Ultra Brawler (Kaze or Sirius), listed as "Ultra Legendary Brawler" in Supercell's odds table. It only appears in Ultra Chaos Drops, at 0.53% per Ultra reward, which works out to an average of one per roughly 6,000 Chaos Drops once splits are counted. A Buffie (26.74% of Ultra rewards) is the most realistic big win.
Can a Chaos Drop be Rare? No. Supercell's official table starts at Super Rare, so the lowest possible result is Super Rare (52%). The drop may show a Rare look before you tap it, but it always ends at Super Rare or better.
Do split Chaos Drops have different rarities? No. Supercell confirms that all split drops share the same rarity. An Ultra drop that splits into 8 gives you eight Ultra rewards.
How do I get free Chaos Drops? Win games for Daily Wins (one Chaos Drop on normal days, five on Luckiest Days), progress the Trophy Road and Brawl Pass, claim the weekly freebie on store.supercell.com, and take part in Brawl-O-Ween events like Scary Coffins and Creator Coffins. Ignore any site that promises a "Chaos Drop generator". Those are scams.
What happens if a Chaos Drop gives me something I already own? You get a fallback reward. A duplicate Hypercharge becomes 1,000 Coins, a duplicate Legendary Brawler becomes 1,000 Credits, an Ultra Brawler becomes 1,500 Credits, and a duplicate Buffie becomes 1,000 Power Points.
