Brawl Stars Hypercharge Tier List (September 2026): Best Hypercharges Ranked S to F

A Hypercharge is the single most expensive upgrade in Brawl Stars — roughly 5,000 Coins (or Gold) poured onto a brawler that is already maxed to Power 11. With around 104 Hypercharges live on a roster of 107 brawlers as of September 2026, dropping that grind onto the wrong one is the costliest resource mistake in the game. This tier list ranks the Hypercharges worth caring about in Season 54 "Royal Academy" (Update 69 "Brawler Blast"), factors in the September 1, 2026 balance patch, and tells you exactly which to unlock first.

Quick answer (TLDR): As of September 2026, the best Hypercharges to unlock are Mortis, Surge, Kit, R-T and Max — they either charge fastest or flip a fight outright on meta-relevant brawlers. Kit and R-T stayed "actually broken" even after the September 1 patch, while Max took a direct Hypercharge nerf (Super charge per hit 7% → 6%) but is still S-tier. Bowling Bolt (Bolt), Leon, Sandy, Belle, Colt, Edgar and Najia are strong A-tier picks. Flexible high-usage picks worth a review this month: Rico, Brock, Colette, Sandy and Gene. Do not burn 5,000 Coins on Bull, Pam, Frank or Buster — a Hypercharge does not rescue a brawler who is already weak. Hypercharges shift with every balance patch, so treat this as a September 2026 snapshot, not a permanent ranking.

Below: what a Hypercharge actually does, the correct stat numbers, how you get one now that Starr Road is gone, what the latest patch changed, the full tier table, and a Coin-spending priority order.

What is a Hypercharge in Brawl Stars?

A Hypercharge is a top-tier upgrade that unlocks only at Power 11, the maximum power level a brawler can reach. Once you own it, a second meter fills as you charge and use your Super — it builds the same way your Super does, by dealing damage (and for some brawlers, by taking it). Trigger your Hypercharged Super and the brawler is wrapped in a glowing aura for a few seconds that layers extra stats on top of an already-empowered Super, plus a unique per-brawler effect.

The exact aura is standardized across every brawler (ClutchPoints, All Hypercharge Abilities):

  • +5% Damage
  • +5% Shield
  • +20% Movement Speed

On top of that flat aura, each Hypercharge adds a unique twist to the Super — and that twist is what actually separates an S-tier Hypercharge from a wasted 5,000 Coins. Shelly's "Double Barrel" makes her Super 33% larger; Colt's "Dual Wielding" makes his Super 120% wider; Surge's "Stage 5" makes his shots always split. A speed bump is a speed bump; a fight-ending unique effect is what you pay for.

Two things matter for spending priority:

  • It is one activation per fight-cycle. You must charge the Hypercharge meter through Super usage, so a slow-charging Hypercharge on a brawler who rarely lands his Super is far weaker than a fast one on an aggressive, high-uptime brawler.
  • A Hypercharge cannot fix a bad brawler. It multiplies an already-good kit. Buying a Hypercharge for a brawler that is out of the meta is throwing Coins away.

How to get Hypercharges in September 2026 (Brawler Blast, not Starr Road)

This is the biggest change since the last few tier lists: Starr Road is retired. Update 69 replaced it with Brawler Blast — when you unlock a brawler with Credits, you now play a shooting-gallery mini-game that can drop bonus Power Levels, Gadgets, Gears, Star Powers, Hypercharges or Buffies (limit one Hypercharge per opening). You can still get Hypercharges the direct ways too:

  • Direct purchase on the brawler's page (around 5,000 Gold).
  • Legendary Starr Drops and Chaos Drops — a Legendary Starr Drop has an 18.29% chance to contain a Hypercharge (Brawlytix data, via the site's Starr Drop odds).
  • Hyperdeals, Collector Sets and Hypercharge Skins in the shop.

One rule to remember: a brand-new brawler cannot get a Hypercharge until they are "fully released." That is why Cosmo (#107), live since his ~September 10–19 release event, does not have a Hypercharge yet — new brawlers get theirs a wave or two after launch.

What the September 1, 2026 patch changed for Hypercharges

The September 1, 2026 balance patch was a large pass — 27 brawlers buffed, 20 nerfed, 9 both (Brawl Planet balance changes, Sep 1 2026). It added no new Hypercharges, but it directly moved two tier-relevant picks:

  • Max — Hypercharge nerfed. "Unlimited Energy" Super charge per hit dropped 7% → 6%, and the number of hits to charge her Super went 16 → 18. Max still lands in S-tier, but she charges noticeably slower now.
  • Wendy — kit nerfed hard. Her Trait Super-charge rate fell 50% → 30%, hits to charge her Super went 5 → 6, and her Shield Generator's HP dropped 3,500 → 2,500 with damage redirection cut 75% → 60%. Her new "Green Energy" Hypercharge is a real reason she stayed playable through the nerf, but she is no longer the auto-carry she was at launch.
  • Rico — nerfed. Multiball damage per bullet 1,568 → 1,440, gadget cooldown 19s → 22s — his Hypercharge is still strong, but he is a review pick, not a blind unlock.

Broad direction: the patch reined in the dominant new/meta picks and handed tempo back to under-used brawlers (Eve, Tara, Bea, Lola, Buster, Colette). If your Hypercharge target was a September-1 nerf victim, wait a week and re-check the win-rate before you spend.

Brawl Stars Hypercharge tier list (September 2026)

Ranked by real-match impact — how much the Hypercharge raises the brawler's win rate and how meta-relevant that brawler is right now. Cross-checked against Brawl Value's data-driven Hypercharge tier list (built from thousands of matches) and Brawl Time Ninja, September 2026.

TierHyperchargesWhy
SMortis, Surge, Kit, R-T, MaxFastest-charging or outright fight-winning on meta brawlers. Kit and R-T stayed "broken" even post-patch; Max slower after her Sep-1 nerf but still elite.
ABowling Bolt (Bolt), Leon, Sandy, Belle, Colt, Edgar, Najia, Rico, ColetteHigh-impact uniques on strong brawlers. Rico/Colette are review picks after the Sep-1 changes.
BBrock, Gene, Buzz, Starr Nova, Griff, Shade, Sam, BeaSolid but situational — great in the right mode/comp, not a first unlock.
CDarryl, El Primo, Eve, Ziggy, AlliFun and playable, low priority.
D–FBull, Pam, Frank, BusterThe Hypercharge does not fix a weak or off-meta brawler. Skip.

S-tier: unlock these first

  • Mortis — Blood Boomerang. His "Life Blood" now returns to Mortis on the way back, doubling the damage and self-heal. Mortis charges his Super constantly, so his Hypercharge has the best uptime in the game — the definition of a fast, fight-flipping Hypercharge.
  • Surge — Stage 5. His shots always split and gain range. It effectively skips the setup Surge normally grinds toward, turning him into a full-map threat the moment it pops.
  • Kit — Making Biscuits. Kit can roam freely while his Super stuns an enemy, enabling support and pick plays that break coordinated comps. The community has flagged it as one of the few "actually broken" Hypercharges even after the September patch.
  • R-T — 360-Degree Surveillance. R-T summons a ring of mines that rotate around him — brutal area control that survived the patch untouched.
  • Max — Unlimited Energy. Max tosses an energy drink that speeds up teammates and hands them 25% Super charge. Even with her Sep-1 charge-rate nerf, the team-wide value keeps her S-tier in Gem Grab and Brawl Ball.

A-tier: strong second-wave unlocks

  • Bowling Bolt (Bolt) — huge open-map control; Bolt remains a top pick in Bounty and Knockout.
  • Leon — Limbo. Leon stays invisible while attacking, which is exactly the assassin fantasy and wins duels outright.
  • Sandy — Swift Winds. +20% speed to allies inside the Sandstorm and a 0.5s silence on landing — elite team utility.
  • Belle — Magnetic. Her Super now curves toward the closest enemy with +2 tiles of range, so it basically can't miss.
  • Colt — Dual Wielding. A 120% wider Super turns a skill-shot into a wall of bullets.
  • Edgar — Outburst, Najia — Twin Snakes (six poison-trail jars), and Rico/Colette round out the tier — Rico and Colette specifically deserve a live win-rate check after the September 1 changes.

Skip these (D–F)

Do not spend Coins on Bull, Pam, Frank or Buster Hypercharges right now. Their unique effects are fine on paper — Bull takes 80% less damage during his Super, Buster's shield goes 360° — but the brawlers themselves are out of the current meta, and a Hypercharge multiplies a weak kit into a slightly-less-weak kit. Your Coins go further almost anywhere in S or A tier.

Which Hypercharge should you unlock first?

A simple priority order for September 2026:

  • Do you main one of the S-tier brawlers (Mortis, Surge, Kit, R-T, Max)? Unlock that Hypercharge first — the return on 5,000 Coins is highest on a brawler you already play well.
  • No S-tier main? Pick the A-tier brawler you play most in your best mode. A Hypercharge you actually activate 3–4 times a match beats a "better" one you rarely charge.
  • Ignore the flashy uniques on off-meta brawlers. A cool animation is not win rate.
  • Re-check after every balance patch. The September 1 patch alone moved Max, Wendy and Rico. Bookmark this page — we refresh it each month.

Verbatim from the source: In September 2026, flexible Hypercharge users like "Rico, Brock, Colette, Sandy, and Gene deserve priority review; Buzz stays worth a look after his June 30, 2026 Hypercharge charge-rate buff (25% to 30%)."TrophyCoach, Brawl Stars Hypercharge Guide 2026

FAQ

How many Hypercharges are in Brawl Stars in September 2026? Around 104 Hypercharges are live, on a roster of 107 brawlers. The newest additions are Wendy's "Green Energy" and Nori's "Master Fisherman." The September 1, 2026 balance patch added no new Hypercharges. Cosmo (#107) does not have one yet — a brawler can't receive a Hypercharge until they are fully released.

What does a Hypercharge actually do? It adds a standard aura of +5% Damage, +5% Shield and +20% Movement Speed for a few seconds, plus a unique effect on that brawler's Super. The unique effect is what matters — a flat speed bump is minor, but something like Surge's guaranteed shot-splits or Mortis's returning Super can win a fight on its own.

Which Hypercharge should I unlock first in Brawl Stars? Unlock the Hypercharge for the best brawler you already main. If you play an S-tier brawler (Mortis, Surge, Kit, R-T, Max), start there. Uptime beats raw power — a Hypercharge you activate several times a match is worth more than a stronger one you rarely charge.

How do you get Hypercharges now that Starr Road is gone? Update 69 replaced Starr Road with Brawler Blast, which can drop a Hypercharge when you unlock a brawler with Credits (one per opening). You can also buy a Hypercharge directly for about 5,000 Gold, or get one from Legendary Starr Drops (18.29% chance) and Chaos Drops.

Did the September 2026 patch change any Hypercharges? Yes — Max's "Unlimited Energy" was nerfed (Super charge per hit 7% → 6%, hits to charge 16 → 18). Wendy and Rico, both Hypercharge users, also took kit nerfs. No Hypercharges were added. Always re-check a brawler's live win rate after a balance patch before spending Coins.

Can a Hypercharge make a weak brawler good? No. A Hypercharge multiplies an existing kit — it does not carry an off-meta brawler. That's why Bull, Pam, Frank and Buster Hypercharges sit in D–F tier despite interesting effects: the brawlers themselves aren't strong enough right now to justify the 5,000-Coin cost.

This tier list reflects the meta as of September 2026 (Season 54 "Royal Academy," Update 69 "Brawler Blast," post-September 1 balance patch). Hypercharge rankings shift with every update — cross-check live win rates on Brawl Value and Brawl Time Ninja before committing your Coins.
