NBA 2K27 Moments Cards: All Week 1 Cards, Challenges and the Jamal Murray Problem (Season 2)

Quick answer (TL;DR)

Moments cards are back in NBA 2K27 MyTEAM. The first set went live on Tuesday, October 27, 2026: nine Special Edition cards built on real performances from the NBA's opening week (October 21–25). The headliners are Luka Dončić, Anthony Edwards and Ty Jerome at 96 OVR, with Jamal Murray, Devin Booker and Walker Kessler at 95 and Darius Acuff Jr., Yaxel Lendeborg and Caleb Wilson at 94. Three of them (Edwards, Murray and Acuff) carry the Moments Premier badge.

The drop came with three Season 2 Moments challenge groups. GameDaily reports they pay out a Player XP Level Up Game Changer (Part I), a Season 2 Mode Completion Card Shard (Part II) and a Moments Deluxe Pack (Part III), and that Part II needs any Jamal Murray and Part III needs any Anthony Edwards. That requirement is why Murray cards jumped in the Auction House overnight. Our advice: don't pay drop-day prices for a Moments card just to unlock a challenge. Check the cheapest Murray and Edwards you can find first. This page covers Season 2 on Patch 2.0, checked October 28, 2026.

What are Moments cards in NBA 2K27?

Moments cards are MyTEAM Player Cards tied to a specific real-world game. Each one shows the date and the box-score line that earned it, printed down the side of the card. 2K announced the first 2K27 set on October 26:

"Moments cards arrive tomorrow, featuring Special Edition card art from these stars' opening week performances!" — @NBA2KMyTEAM on X, October 26, 2026

The cards come in two designs:

  • Moments: the standard Special Edition art.
  • Moments Premier: the same frame with a "Premier" tag under the Moments camera logo. In Week 1 that's Edwards, Murray and Acuff.

2K hasn't said in writing what Premier changes beyond the badge on the art, so treat it as a label for the headline cards of the drop, not a confirmed stat or reward difference.

Like every other card in 2K27, a Moments card also earns Player XP when you play it. 2K's own guide says you earn XP "by taking any player card onto the court" (2K, MyTEAM Player XP Game Guide). A Moments card you actually run gets better over time, and that progress counts toward the Greatness Series challenges.

Some quick reads on the set:

  • Three 96s, three 95s, three 94s. It's an even split. Five of the nine are PG/SG guards, and only two cards (Kessler at C/PF and Wilson at PF/C) can play center.
  • Dončić's 52 points is the biggest line in the drop. His card is a 52-point double-double with 10 assists, two rebounds short of a triple-double.
  • Wilson's card is the best rebounding line in the set. 14 boards plus 2 steals in a 30-point game, and he's center-eligible.
  • Kessler's card is for efficiency, not volume. 26 points on 100% shooting is the hook, and he's the set's natural starting center if your lineup is thin up front.

What are the NBA 2K27 Moments challenges?

The drop also brought three challenge groups for Season 2. 2K hasn't published the full requirement list anywhere we could verify, so the structure below comes from GameDaily's challenge breakdown (October 27, 2026). Confirm the details in the MyTEAM Challenges menu before you spend MT.

GroupReward (per GameDaily)Card you need
Season 2 Moments Part IPlayer XP Level Up Game ChangerNone reported
Season 2 Moments Part IISeason 2 Mode Completion Card ShardAny Jamal Murray
Season 2 Moments Part IIIMoments Deluxe PackAny Anthony Edwards

GameDaily describes the groups as "themed around the Week 1 Moments players." Each challenge asks you to recreate part of a real performance from the drop.

The challenge players are stuck on. On r/MyTeam, the most-cited roadblock is a Part I challenge that asks you to win by 47 points. One player wrote: "I can't even get past the win by 47 points moment in the first set of challenges… it's against the All-Time Domination teams. So I can't beat them by 47." Two community tips came back:

  • Pick the weakest All-Time team. All-Time is one of the two new Domination tiers 2K added for Season 2, alongside Historic, per its Season 2 Courtside Report. One player called the All-Time Suns "kinda terrible" and said they won by 50+ against them.
  • Season 1 Domination may also work. Another player said the challenge can be done there too, which gives you easier opponents if All-Time is too tough.

Both are player reports from October 27, not 2K guidance, so check which modes your challenge text actually accepts.

Is the Mode Completion Card Shard worth it? It's the Part II reward, and it's the one with long-term value. 2K's Season 2 Courtside Report says you "assemble Mode Completion Event Cards through daily Play Now Challenges," so a shard pushes along a grind you're probably doing anyway. GameDaily also reports that this week's Play Now challenges (October 26 to November 1) lead to a free Season 2 Mode Completion Event Card.

Why did Jamal Murray's price spike?

Because Part II needs any Jamal Murray, and a lot of players didn't own one. Within hours of the drop, r/MyTeam was full of price-shock threads:

  • One player said Murray's Sapphire card "has gone up in price in the Auction House to up to 100K MT," a price that card would never normally reach.
  • Another said they were "about to drop 50K MT on Sapphire Jamal Murray for the (Moments Challenges)" before pulling one.
  • The Moments Premier Murray itself was quoted at 300K+ MT in one thread, while another player in the same thread said they "just got him for 115k."

Those are snapshots from October 27, and the spread between 115K and 300K shows how unsettled the market was. The replies were telling too: "It'll go down. Patience" and "He'll be a bin by Thursday." A "bin" here means the card's buy-it-now price on the Auction House.

How to get a Murray without overpaying:

  • Check every Murray tier in the Auction House, not just the newest. The requirement is "any" Jamal Murray. Sort by price and buy the cheapest card that counts.
  • Check your own collection and The Exchange. One player said they "did the sapphire exchange a few times and got lucky and pulled one after about 6 tries." That's luck, not a method, but it costs less than 100K if you already have the fodder. See our Exchange guide.
  • Do Part I and Part III first, if the menu lets you. We haven't confirmed whether the groups must be done in order, so check in-game. If they're open and you already own an Edwards, clear Part III and let Murray prices settle before you touch Part II.
  • Think before you flip your Murray. Selling right after Part II gets some MT back, but prices may already be falling by then, and nobody knows yet what later groups will ask for. One r/MyTeam user asked if "any other cards [are] needed for these hidden challenges down the road?" Nobody had an answer yet. If you bought cheap, keeping him costs you little; if you overpaid, selling early limits the loss.

The same logic applies to Anthony Edwards for Part III. If you plan to finish all three groups, price both players before you spend on either.

Should you buy Moments cards now or wait?

For most players: wait, unless you want a specific card to play with right now. Here's the reasoning.

Drop-day prices are often the highest. That's a pattern, not a guarantee. The cross-platform Auction House (PS5, Xbox Series X/S and Switch 2) is the biggest card market MyTEAM has had, and every pack opened adds more copies. A card that's scarce on Tuesday is often easier to find by the weekend. The Murray quotes show how unsettled the market is: 115K and 300K for the same card on the same day.

Challenge demand is temporary. The challenges are a big part of why Murray cards jumped, even if they aren't the only reason. Once most players have cleared Part II and Part III, that extra demand should fade.

Reactions to the drop were mixed. On October 27, r/MyTeam threads called the drop "100% bait" and "the worst Tuesday drop since the wnba set," while others were happy to see Moments back. If the community is cool on a set, prices usually come down faster.

When buying early does make sense:

  • You're chasing a 96 OVR guard for competitive play and want Edwards or Dončić on the floor this week.
  • You need Kessler to fill a center slot. He's the only primary center in the set (Wilson is PF/C).
  • You're leveling cards for the Greatness Series anyway and would rather grind Player XP on a 96 than a card you'll replace.

If you're new to the mode, the MyTEAM beginner guide and our Auction House guide cover how to buy, sell and price cards without wasting MT.

When is the next Moments drop?

2K hasn't published a Moments schedule for 2K27. What we know for sure: the first set covers games from October 21 to 25, was announced on Monday, October 26, and went live on Tuesday, October 27. 2K described it as built on the players who "could not be stopped last week," which points to more sets based on later weeks. Until 2K confirms a cadence, watch @NBA2KMyTEAM around the start of each week. We'll add new sets to this page as they drop.

FAQ

What are Moments cards in NBA 2K27 MyTEAM? They're Special Edition Player Cards based on real NBA performances. Each card shows the game date and stat line that earned it. The first 2K27 set went live on October 27, 2026, built on opening-week games from October 21 to 25.

What is Moments Premier? It's a Moments card with a "Premier" tag on the art. In Week 1 that's Anthony Edwards, Jamal Murray and Darius Acuff Jr. 2K hasn't explained in writing whether Premier changes anything beyond the design.

Which Jamal Murray do I need for the Moments challenges? GameDaily reports that Part II needs any Jamal Murray, so the cheapest Murray card you can find should count. Check the challenge text in-game before you buy, and don't assume you need the 95 OVR Moments Premier version.

How do I win by 47 points in the Moments challenge? Players on r/MyTeam suggest picking the weakest All-Time Domination team (one player won by 50+ against the All-Time Suns) or using Season 1 Domination if your challenge allows it.

What do the Moments challenges reward? According to GameDaily, Part I gives a Player XP Level Up Game Changer, Part II a Season 2 Mode Completion Card Shard, and Part III a Moments Deluxe Pack.

Will Moments card prices go down? Often, yes. New cards tend to be most expensive around drop day, and Murray and Edwards are inflated by challenge demand. Players in r/MyTeam expected Murray to fall within days. That's a prediction, not a guarantee.

The bottom line

NBA 2K27's first Moments set is a strong one at the top, with three 96s, and its challenges are worth doing for the Mode Completion shard alone. The trap is the "any Jamal Murray" requirement. Don't let a challenge talk you into paying 100K+ MT for a card you'd never normally run. Clear the groups you can, check the cheapest Murray and Edwards, and let the market cool off. This page reflects Season 2 on Patch 2.0 as of October 28, 2026.
