When Palworld left Early Access in July 2026 Pocketpair reworked those combinations, so tables built before v1.0 return the wrong Pal.

Why most Palworld breeding calculators are now wrong
Palworld 1.0 shipped on 10 July 2026 and its patch notes are explicit: breeding combinations were reviewed overall and adjusted to match game progression. That is not a tweak to a handful of recipes — it moves the breeding-power values the whole system is built on, so a table captured in 2024 disagrees with the live game across a large share of the 44,850 possible pairings. Several long-standing calculators still publish the old power range, which is a reliable tell that their data predates the rebalance.
This calculator is generated rather than transcribed. Every combination is derived from v1.0.2 game data and then checked, pair by pair, against the game's own resolved breeding table — all 44,849 of them — and the build fails if a single one disagrees. That check runs in our test suite, so the next time Pocketpair rebalances breeding, this page breaks loudly instead of quietly serving stale answers.
How the breeding formula actually works
Every Pal carries a hidden breeding power. For a pair with no special combination, the game computes floor((powerA + powerB + 1) / 2) and picks the species whose own power sits closest to that number. Two details decide the awkward cases: breeding-exclusive Pals are removed from the candidate list first — which is why you cannot stumble into a legendary by accident — and exact ties are broken by an internal priority value, not by Paldeck order, with the non-variant form winning last. Calculators that tie-break on the Paldeck index get a few hundred cells wrong and look right everywhere else.
Special combinations and the one gender-specific pair
146 pairings ignore the maths completely and produce a fixed child — this is how you get Anubis, Faleris, Frostallion Noct and the rest. They work in either order, so it does not matter which parent you place first. Exactly one pairing in the entire game is gender-sensitive: Katress and Wixen gives a different Pal depending on which parent is male, and the calculator shows both branches rather than guessing.
Pals you cannot breed from other species
27 Pals have no cross-species recipe. Nothing you pair produces them; the only route is catching a male and a female and breeding those two together. That list is mostly the legendaries and raid bosses — Gumoss, Blazamut Ryu, Mimog, Xenovader, Xenogard, Grizzbolt among them. Searching for one of these in most tools returns a confusing empty table; here it returns a plain explanation.
Passive skills, gender odds and how long it really takes
Getting the right species is the easy half. The child draws 1–4 passives from the combined, de-duplicated pool of both parents at 40 / 30 / 20 / 10, then adds 0–3 random ones on the same spread — starting at zero, so 40% of eggs pick up no junk at all. Doubling a passive across both parents does not improve its odds. Gender is the other hidden tax: the split is set per species, not 50/50, and some Pals are as skewed as 20% male, which quietly doubles how long a pairing takes to set up. The v1.0 cakes matter too — Vegetable Cake produces two eggs per cycle, which is the single biggest throughput lever in the game.

Which Pals cannot be bred from other species?

Is the male-female split always 50/50 in Palworld?
No. Gender probability is set per species, and dozens of Pals are skewed — some as far as 20% male. That matters when you are hunting a specific pairing, because two Pals of a heavily skewed species are unlikely to give you an opposite-gender pair. The calculator shows the real opposite-gender chance for every combination rather than assuming an even split.
Can you buy Palworld leveling instead of grinding it?
