This Anime Vanguards tier list ranks the best units for the current 2nd Anniversary Update (15.0), which went live on October 11, 2026. It's built on the official Anime Vanguards Wiki tier list, which the wiki team maintains and takes suggestions for through the official Discord. Check the date on any list you use. Pocket Tactics' October 2026 list, for example, still leaves out every unit from August and September 2026.
Quick answer (checked October 19, 2026): The official wiki's Top 8 units right now are Apathetic Savior (Door), Holy Deceiver (Dark), Super Vogito, Rogita (Super 4), Divalo (Requiem), The Falcon (of Light), Wrath (Assault) and Rebel Fighter (Gauntlet). The best pure DPS unit is Super Vogito. The best support and crowd-control pick is Apathetic Savior (Door). The four new 15.0 units (God Ascended, Yuvi, Seiloshibo and Death's Grasp) haven't been placed by the wiki yet, so we cover them in their own section below instead of guessing. True Shadow Monarch (Pirate Dynasty) is not a tower-defense unit. It's an arena fighter, so don't confuse it with Song Jinwu (Monarch), the placeable unit.

How this Anime Vanguards tier list works
The official wiki doesn't use S/A/B letter grades. It ranks units best to worst, left to right, inside each role: an overall Top 8, then DPS, Utility, Support and Crowd Control. We kept that structure, because a single letter grade hides the thing that matters most in a tower-defense game: what job the unit does on your team. A support unit at #5 in its role can be more important to your team than a DPS unit at #10.
Next to every unit, the wiki lists its optimal Trait, Familiar and Memoria. A unit with a bad Trait can perform well below its rank. Most top units list Monarch as their optimal Trait (see the Traits section).
A few icons on the wiki list matter when you're deciding what to chase:
- Synergy: the ranking assumes the unit is paired with a specific partner. Holy Deceiver (Dark), Super Vogito, Rogita (Super 4), The Falcon (of Light) and Wrath (Assault) all carry this flag.
- Limited: you can only get the unit for a limited time. On the tier list only Rebel Fighter (Gauntlet) carries this icon, but the unit pages also mark Holy Deceiver (Dark) (Tier 50 of the Update 14.5 Part 3 Event Pass) and Wrath (Assault) (Tier 50 of the Update 14.5 Part 4 Battle Pass) as limited.
- No longer obtainable: the tier list flags Lich King (Ruler), God (Standless) and Time Goddess (Crazed). That icon is behind for God (Standless): its own wiki page says it can be summoned on the current Anniversary Banner, or dropped at a 1 in 5,000 chance from any Act of the Anniversary Dungeon.
- Older banner units: the wiki histories for Rogita (Super 4) and Divalo (Requiem) record that both rotated out in 2025, and their pages now list a Special Banner route. Check what's on the banner in-game before you save Gems for either one.

The Top 8 shows how quickly the meta moved in late summer. Four of these units arrived between August 10 and September 12, 2026, according to their wiki pages. Apathetic Savior (Door) and Rebel Fighter (Gauntlet) are Secret-rarity units from the 25th Hour (14.5) update on August 10. Holy Deceiver (Dark) is an Exclusive unit released on August 29. Wrath (Assault) is an Exclusive unit released on September 12 in Wrathful Assault (14.5 Part 4). Any tier list that doesn't mention these four was written before the current meta.
Apathetic Savior (Door) takes #1 because it shows up at the top of three roles at once: Utility, Support and Crowd Control. Its passive buffs the Crit Rate of all Demon Controller allies by 80%, according to its wiki page.

In order: Apathetic Savior (Door), The Falcon (of Light), Lich King (Ruler) (no longer obtainable), Savior (Moonless), Divine General (Adaptation), Smith John, Dawntay (Jackpot), Gilgamesh (King of Heroes), Goblin Killer (Trapper), Tuji (Sorcerer Killer), Envoy of Destruction (Resistance), The Struggler (Rampage), Reckless Gambler (Cursed), Cursed Lawyer (Tired), Reaper (Scissors) and Bounty Hunter (King of Hell).
Not every unit here wants Monarch. Goblin Killer (Trapper) and Reaper (Scissors) both want Deadeye, which is built around critical hits. Cursed Lawyer (Tired) wants Blitz, and Bounty Hunter (King of Hell) wants Ethereal.

Where do the new 2nd Anniversary (15.0) units rank?
Update 15.0 added four tower-defense units on October 11, 2026. As of our October 19 check, the official wiki tier list hasn't placed any of them yet, so we won't make up a rank either. Here's what each one does, according to its wiki page, and who should go for it:
- God Ascended (Anniversary) has the new Vanguard rarity. You get it by evolving God (Standless) with 50,000 Gold and the four Saint parts. Its passive buffs Holy units' damage by 80% and adds 50% Active Damage to Crusader units. God (Standless) is back on the Anniversary Banner, so new players can actually work toward this one.
- Yuvi (Gauntlets) is an Exclusive unit from the Anniversary 26 Banner, and it's also the Day 1 reward of the 2nd Anniversary Daily Rewards. It buffs Video Game and Spark units' damage by 80% each. Its attacks stun, slow and stack a Damage Reduction debuff. Since there's a free route through the Daily Rewards, every active player should claim it.
- Seiloshibo (Moon) is an Exclusive unit from the Anniversary 26 Banner. It also has a 5% drop chance from Web Demon Ex in the Spider Forest Raid, with a pity of 30. It buffs Demon Hunter allies' damage by 150% and gains damage against enemies carrying status effects.
- Death's Grasp (Remembrance) is an Exclusive unit unlocked at Tier 50 of the Season 4 Event Pass. It buffs Cosmic units' damage by 80% and builds a meter that summons a Dragon.
Read on them: all four buff a specific unit category (Holy, Video Game and Spark, Demon Hunter, Cosmic). That means their real value depends on whether you own the units they buff, so don't judge them by solo DPS. If you don't run those categories, take the free ones (Yuvi from Daily Rewards, Death's Grasp from the pass) and save your Gems.
About True Shadow Monarch: its wiki page describes True Shadow Monarch (Pirate Dynasty) as a Pirate Dynasty fighter released on October 12, 2026. It's only playable in the 3v3 Arena modes, where anyone can use it without owning it. You can't place it in a tower-defense team, so it doesn't belong on a unit tier list. Don't mix it up with Song Jinwu (Monarch), which is a placeable unit from the Special Banner.
Best Anime Vanguards teams right now
The wiki also lists full teams. Its two "heavy meta" teams are:
- Dragon Sphere team. The wiki calls it the highest possible DPS in the game, and it can run on AutoPlay. Core: Holy Deceiver (Dark), Super Vogito, Rogita (Super 4), Boohon (Evil), Rogita (Super) and Sprintwagon. Replacements: Brolzi Super (Wrathful), Divalo (Requiem) and Apathetic Savior (Door). The wiki's tip is to drop Rogita (Super) if the mode gives you enough Yen.
- Wrath team. The wiki calls it the most convenient team available. Core: Wrath (Assault), Iscanur (Pride), Ice Queen (Release), Shinobi Sage (Friendship), Smith John and Elastic Captain (Cog 5th). The last three are only there for their Elements, so you can swap them for any units with different Elements.
If you're still building your roster, the Wrath team is easier to put together because half of it is filler you can replace.
Which Traits matter most?
Traits are the biggest power swing in the game, and the wiki's Traits page explains why Monarch shows up on almost every ranking:
- Monarch: 0.1% chance (1 in 1,000), with a pity of 1,500 rolls. It gives +300% Damage, -10% SPA (faster attacks) and +5% Range, but limits the unit to 1 placement.
- Ethereal: 0.175% chance, with a pity of 858. It gives +20% Damage, -20% SPA and +5% Range. The wiki notes that for units with 3 or more placements, Ethereal will out-DPS Monarch, but it adds that cost, passives and ability cooldowns often still favor Monarch.
- Deadeye: 0.375% chance, with a pity of 400. It gives +45% Crit Rate and +50% Crit Damage. It's best on crit-scaling units like Reaper (Scissors).
- Marksman: 6.5% chance. It gives +30% Range, which is why supports like Divalo (Requiem) and World Destroyer (Old) list it.
- Blitz: 1.85% chance. It gives -20% SPA and suits units like Ice Queen (Release) and Cursed Lawyer (Tired).
- Fortune: 2.5% chance. It gives +20% Income, which is why the farm unit Sprintwagon wants it.
