Quick answer (TLDR): The Murder Mystery 2 Halloween Event 2026 went live on October 18, 2026 at 3:00 PM EDT and ends on November 16, 2026 at 18:00 UTC, according to MM2's official Roblox event listing. Coins don't spawn during the event, only Candies, and you spend them in three places: a 30-tier battle pass that ends in the new Emberbow (an Ancient gun that costs 100,000 Candies on its own), the 2026 Halloween Box (600 Candies or 1 Halloween Key, with a 0.2% Godly Embersickle), and the Cauldron, where the Embersickle and Emberbow combine into the Ancient Emberscythe. A paid Mortal Bundle (3,399 Robux) adds the Mortal Godly set. Facts were checked against Roblox's official event listing, the MM2 Fandom event pages and a live Roblox Games API pull on October 19, 2026.
Murder Mystery 2 is busy right now. At 01:26 UTC on October 19, 2026, about six and a half hours after launch, the Roblox Games API showed 429,646 players in-game, 31.42 billion lifetime visits and 24.56 million favorites. That makes MM2 the #2 experience on Roblox's Top Playing Now chart, behind only Steal An Egg. This is the 11th annual Halloween event. It goes for a retro theme, with a small witch-themed lobby and the return of the Haunted House map from MM2's early years.
This guide covers everything in the event: each battle pass tier, the Halloween Box odds, the Cauldron craft, the paid Mortal set, the leaderboard prizes, and how to earn Candies without wasting them.

When does the MM2 Halloween Event 2026 start and end?
The event released on October 18, 2026 at 3:00 PM EDT (19:00 UTC). It ends on November 16, 2026 at 18:00 UTC (1:00 PM EST). Those times come from MM2's official "Halloween 2026" event listing on Roblox, the same system that ran the Summer 2026 and Halloween 2025 events, and the MM2 Fandom event page gives the same dates. That gives you about four weeks to finish the pass. It's a little shorter than the full window some trackers predicted before launch. For comparison, Halloween 2025 ran from October 18 to November 17. Don't count on an extension: plan to have your Candies spent before November 16.
The Roblox game page also changed on launch day: its `updated` timestamp moved to 2026-10-18 18:53 UTC, just before the event opened.
What's new in the MM2 Halloween Event 2026?
The Fandom event page sums it up as 1 new map, a new weapon box, a 30-tier battle pass, the return of Candies, 2 new Ancients, 3 new Godlies, 3 new Chroma Godlies, and the first Chroma Ancient. Here's what each of those is:
| Item | Rarity | Type | How you get it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Emberbow | Ancient | Gun | Battle pass tier 30 (100,000 Candies) |
| Chroma Emberbow | Chroma Ancient | Gun | Very rare roll when you buy the Emberbow tier |
| Emberscythe | Ancient | Knife | Cauldron craft (Embersickle + Emberbow) |
| Embersickle | Godly | Knife | 2026 Halloween Box (0.2%) |
| Chroma Embersickle | Chroma Godly | Knife | 2026 Halloween Box (0.004%) |
| Mortal | Godly | Knife | Mortal gamepass (1,699 R$) or Mortal Bundle |
| Immortal | Godly | Gun | Immortal gamepass (1,699 R$) or Mortal Bundle |
| Gold / Silver / Bronze / Blue Emberbow | Unique | Gun | Event leaderboard: 1st / 2nd / 3rd / top 100 |
Two items in that table are firsts for MM2. In the wiki's words, this is "the first event to include an ancient chroma, that being Chroma Emberbow", and it's also "the first time, since the release of Season 1, players were allowed to craft an ancient weapon." That's why traders started arguing about the Emberscythe within minutes of launch.
How does the MM2 Halloween 2026 battle pass work?
The battle pass has 30 tiers. Tier 1 is free, tiers 2 through 29 cost 600 Candies each (28 × 600 = 16,800 Candies), and the Emberbow at the end costs 100,000 Candies by itself. That adds up to 116,800 Candies. The wiki's overview gives a slightly higher total of 117,400, which would mean tier 30 also costs 600 to unlock before the 100,000-Candy Emberbow purchase. Check the in-game tier-30 price, and budget 116,800 to 117,400 Candies for the full pass.
Here's the full reward track:
| Tier | Reward | Tier | Reward |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 (free) | Zombie Plush | 16 | Drool (gun) |
| 2 | Scarytree | 17 | Halloween Key |
| 3 | Halloween Key | 18 | Skelly (knife) |
| 4 | Wolf | 19 | Halloween Key |
| 5 | Halloween Key | 20 | Catseye (gun) |
| 6 | Skull | 21 | Halloween Key |
| 7 | Halloween Key | 22 | Cauldron |
| 8 | Candy Corn | 23 | Halloween Key |
| 9 | Halloween Key | 24 | Broom |
| 10 | Bramble | 25 | Halloween Key |
| 11 | Halloween Key | 26 | Serpent |
| 12 | Zombie (effect) | 27 | Halloween Key |
| 13 | Halloween Key | 28 | Darkwave |
| 14 | Haunted House (knife) | 29 | Emberknife |
| 15 | Halloween Key | 30 | Emberbow (Ancient) |
Every odd tier from 3 to 27 gives a Halloween Key, which adds up to 13 keys across the pass. Each key opens one 2026 Halloween Box for free. The keys are untradeable (it's the seventh Halloween key MM2 has added, after the Alien, Vampire, Traveler, Pumpkin, Skeleton and Reaver keys). So the pass gets you 13 free spins at the 0.2% Embersickle on top of its fixed rewards.
The Emberbow tier has a hidden bonus. When you buy tier 30, there's a very rare chance of getting the Chroma Emberbow instead of the regular one. Nikilis hasn't published the odds. One wiki item page also lists a different Candy price for this tier than the event page does, so check the in-game cost before you save up for it.
What's in the 2026 Halloween Box, and what are the odds?
The 2026 Halloween Box is the only crate in the event. It's ember-themed and costs 600 Candies or 1 Halloween Key. These are the drop rates listed on the box's wiki page:
| Item | Type | Rarity | Chance |
|---|---|---|---|
| CandyCorn, Bombs | Gun | Common | 70% (tier) |
| Skulls, Bullets | Knife | Common | 70% (tier) |
| Glow, Brew, Drool | Knife | Uncommon | 18% (tier) |
| Catseye, Raven | Knife | Rare | 8% (tier) |
| Embergun | — | Legendary | 4% |
| Embersickle | Knife | Godly | 0.2% |
| Chroma Embersickle | Knife | Chroma Godly | 0.004% |
The percentages are for each rarity tier, not for each item, so a 70% Common roll lands on one of the four Commons. These are the wiki's rounded figures, and the column adds up to slightly more than 100% (100.204%). Treat the Godly and Chroma rates as approximate until Nikilis publishes official odds. At 0.2%, you'd expect one Embersickle in about 500 opens on average. That's roughly 300,000 Candies if you paid Candies for every spin, which is why most players open boxes with their free keys and trade for the Embersickle instead. The Chroma Embersickle, at 0.004%, works out to about 1 in 25,000 opens. Very few of them will exist.
How do you craft the Emberscythe in the Cauldron?
The Emberscythe is the event's second Ancient. It's a knife made in the Cauldron from two ingredients: the Embersickle (Godly, from the Halloween Box) and the Emberbow (Ancient, from battle pass tier 30). The Fandom Emberscythe page describes it as obtainable "using the Cauldron to combine Embersickle and Emberbow during the Halloween Event 2026."
So the Emberscythe is the hardest non-leaderboard item in the event. To make one, you need to:
- Finish the battle pass up to tier 30 and buy the Emberbow (116,800 to 117,400 Candies in total).
- Unbox or trade for an Embersickle (0.2% per box).
- Combine them in the Cauldron before the event ends on November 16.
It also matters for collectors. The Emberbow is listed as pairing with both the Embersickle and the Emberscythe, so the Ember set is a three-piece collection, and two of those pieces are Ancients. On launch night, one r/MurderMystery2 player told an Emberscythe owner to keep it, because "it's hard to get that you need battlepass and box godly and craft so keep it it might peak." Another player confirmed that the Emberscythe has no special effect or unique sound. Only the Emberbow and Chroma Emberbow have a unique firing sound, which makes them the 8th and 9th guns in MM2 to get one, alongside the Harvester, Icepiercer and Gingerscope.

What is the Mortal Bundle, and is it worth the Robux?
The Mortal set is the paid side of the event. There are three ways to buy it:
- Mortal gamepass: 1,699 Robux, gives the Mortal Godly knife
- Immortal gamepass: 1,699 Robux, gives the Immortal Godly gun
- Mortal Bundle: 3,399 Robux, gives both plus the exclusive Smolder effect
Buying both gamepasses separately costs 3,398 Robux, so the bundle is essentially the same price with Smolder included. If you want the full set, get the bundle. Chroma versions of the set (Chroma Mortal and Chroma Immortal) are listed on the wiki, but the event page doesn't say how to get them yet. Check the in-game store text before you buy, and don't pay for the set expecting a chroma.
Is it worth it? Only buy the Mortal set because you like it, not as an investment. Gamepass Godlies are sold to everyone who pays for the whole event, so supply is unlimited until November 16. Historically, they've held less trade value than the event's box Godly and grind Ancients.
How do you earn Candies fast in MM2 Halloween 2026?
Candies replace coins for the whole event. They spawn on the map during rounds, and no coins spawn until it's over. Some tips that work, based on how the event is set up and what players reported on launch night:
- Play every round to the end. Candies come from the ground, so time alive is time collecting. The Innocent role gets the most free time to pick them up.
- Do the Daily and Event Quests. This is the first Halloween event with Daily and Event quests, and they give Candies on top of what you collect in rounds.
- Work on the Halloween Bingo card. Bingo is back for the first time since Easter 2023 and Halloween 2015. Read each task carefully. One player who checked the counter on launch night explained that the "collect 800 candies" square only counts Candies "off the ground. buying them and earning them from the dailies don't count." Another found that a "6+ kills as Murderer" task has to be done five separate times, not once. The full Bingo and quest reward list isn't documented yet. Players report a mix of Halloween Keys, knives and effects, and we'll add the exact list here once it's confirmed.
- Save your free spins. Use the 13 battle pass Halloween Keys to open boxes. Don't spend Candies on boxes until the Emberbow is paid for. At 600 Candies a box, about 167 opens (100,200 Candies) would cost roughly the same as the Emberbow.
- Skip "farming server" offers. Players were asking about private farming servers on launch night. Joining random servers or handing out account access is the fastest way to lose your inventory. Stick to normal public play.
The Emberbow costs 100,000 Candies, so plan to play regularly across all four weeks. Some players are also reporting that certain event rewards require an ID-verified Roblox account. That hasn't been confirmed officially, so check the in-game prompt before you assume you can claim a reward.
What about the leaderboard Emberbows?
The event has a Candy leaderboard with four untradeable Unique reskins (see the Gold Emberbow page) of the Emberbow as prizes:
- Gold Emberbow: finish 1st
- Silver Emberbow: finish 2nd
- Bronze Emberbow: finish 3rd
- Blue Emberbow: finish in the top 100
Like every Unique weapon except Corrupt, these can't be traded. They're bragging rights, not trade value. Realistically, the top 100 goes to players who grind the whole event.
Are the new Halloween 2026 items worth trading for?
Hours after launch, it's too early to give real numbers. Value trackers had most of the Ember items at "TBA" or 0 when this guide was written, and early quotes swing a lot during the first week of any event. Here's the general pattern from past Halloween events:
- Box Godlies (Embersickle) usually trade high during the event week, then drop as players open thousands of boxes, then recover once the event ends and supply stops growing.
- Grind Ancients (Emberbow, Emberscythe) stay scarce because few players finish a 100,000-Candy tier. If the Cauldron craft uses up both ingredients, as the wiki's "combine" wording suggests, the Emberscythe should end up the rarest tradeable item from this event.
- Chroma Embersickle and Chroma Emberbow are extremely rare (0.004% and an unpublished "very rare" roll). Don't trust any number you see for them before value sites settle.
- Gamepass Godlies (Mortal, Immortal) have unlimited supply until November 16, so expect them to trade the lowest of the new Godlies.
Older Halloween items are moving too. On October 16, 2026, two days before launch, mm2calculator's value log showed the 2025 Halloween Godlies (the Alien set, Raygun and Alienbeam) as the only demand-6 group still climbing. For the earlier Halloween collections, see our MM2 Halloween value list. For current prices across the whole game, see the October MM2 value list, the MM2 Godly value list and the MM2 Ancient value list. Chroma collectors can use the MM2 Chroma value list.
As always, MM2 values are community trade estimates, not official prices. Nikilis and Roblox have never published a value list, so check two trackers before any big trade.
Want an Ancient without the 117,000-Candy grind? You can buy established MM2 Ancients directly instead of grinding the event pass.
FAQ
When does the MM2 Halloween Event 2026 end? On November 16, 2026 at 18:00 UTC (1:00 PM EST), according to MM2's official Roblox event listing. The event started on October 18, 2026 at 3:00 PM EDT. After it ends, the Emberbow, Emberscythe, Embersickle and Mortal set can only be obtained by trading.
How many Candies does the full MM2 Halloween battle pass cost? 116,800 to 117,400 Candies. Tiers 2 to 29 cost 600 each (16,800), and the tier-30 Emberbow costs 100,000 by itself, which totals 116,800. The wiki's overview says 117,400, which would mean tier 30 also has a 600-Candy unlock. Tier 1 is free.
How do you get the Emberscythe in MM2? Combine an Embersickle (Godly, 0.2% from the 2026 Halloween Box) with an Emberbow (Ancient, battle pass tier 30) in the Cauldron while the event is running. It's the first craftable Ancient since Season 1.
What are the Halloween Box 2026 odds for the Embersickle? 0.2% for the Embersickle and 0.004% for the Chroma Embersickle, according to the box's wiki page. A box costs 600 Candies or 1 Halloween Key, and the battle pass gives you 13 keys.
