Supercell Make is Supercell's official fan-art contest. Players submit designs, the community votes, and the Brawl Stars team picks winners that actually ship in the game. The current Brawl Stars campaign is "MAKE an Icon!", and it works differently from every skin campaign before it. You're designing a player icon, the prize is in Gems, and the vote bar to reach the finals is higher than in any of the last three campaigns.

Submissions close in under a week. Here's everything you need to enter, or just to vote.

Quick answer (TLDR): Brawl Stars' current Supercell Make campaign is MAKE an Icon!. Submissions run October 16 – November 2, 2026 (closes 20:59 UTC), voting runs November 3 – 11, and winners are announced November 29. If the dev team picks your icon you get 500 Gems and the icon itself, and there will be multiple winners. Your icon needs 500 votes to become a finalist, double the 250 that MAKE ANYTHING! and BRAWLERS, ASSEMBLE! needed and five times the Clancy campaign's 100. Icons must be clearly Brawl Stars, keep the standard black border, and contain no AI art. Enter and vote at make.supercell.com with your Supercell ID.

What is Supercell Make?

Supercell Make is a website, make.supercell.com, where players "create, share, and vote on community-made content for Brawl Stars for a chance to be added to the game," in the words of Supercell's own Supercell Make FAQ. It isn't an in-game event, so you won't find it in the Brawl Stars menus. Everything happens on the website, and you log in with the same Supercell ID you use in the game.

Every campaign follows the same six steps: announcement, submissions open, submissions close, voting opens, voting closes, winners announced. Counting this one, the Brawl Stars Wiki lists 17 Brawl Stars campaigns since the first, "The BO-Nanza," in November 2019. The previous 16 all asked for skins. MAKE an Icon! is the first that asks for a player icon instead.

Supercell Make isn't a Brawl Stars-only site. Hay Day's "Design a Winter Farm Patch!" campaign is featured on the same home page right now, so make sure you're on the Brawl Stars campaign before you upload anything.

What is the "MAKE an Icon!" campaign?

The brief is short, and it's quoted here exactly from the campaign page:

"There's no theme... EXCEPT, it needs to have some connection to Brawl Stars! Either a community joke, a Brawler reference, or any Brawlified meme. Go wild!" — Supercell Make, MAKE an Icon! campaign

So there's no Brawler to design for and no seasonal theme. A Mortis-main joke, an Edgar meme, a pun on a map name or a doodle of a Brawler's pet all qualify, as long as a player would look at it and think "this is Brawl Stars." The official key art shows that spirit. The centrepiece is a grinning sausage on a fork, and around it are a mummified pumpkin and a couple of rough sketches.

Community response has been quick. One of the top posts on r/Brawlstars on October 27 was u/VitaumDosMenes sharing their entries under the title "My icons for Supercell Make!", and it passed 760 upvotes within a day.

When does MAKE an Icon! close? (official dates)

These dates come straight from the campaign's data on make.supercell.com, converted to UTC:

Timeline of the Brawl Stars MAKE an Icon! campaign: announced Oct 14, submissions Oct 16 to Nov 2, voting Nov 3 to Nov 11, winners Nov 29, 2026

PhaseDate (2026)Time
Campaign announcedOctober 1408:00 UTC
Submissions openOctober 1608:00 UTC
Submissions closeNovember 220:59 UTC
Voting opensNovember 308:00 UTC
Voting closesNovember 1121:00 UTC
Winners announcedNovember 2921:00 UTC

The submission deadline of 20:59 UTC on November 2 works out to 3:59 PM EST, 12:59 PM PST, 9:59 PM CET and 11:59 PM Moscow time. Daylight saving has already ended in the US and Europe by then, so the usual offsets apply.

Don't leave it to the last evening. Supercell's FAQ says every submission is reviewed by hand and that review "can take up to 72 hours." Editing a submission sends it back into review. You can also only have one creation in review at a time, so if you plan to enter several icons, space them out.

What do Supercell Make winners get?

For this campaign the reward is set out on the campaign page:

"If your Icon is selected by the development team, you'll get 500 Gems, your Icon for yourself. There'll be multiple winners in this campaign." — Supercell Make, MAKE an Icon! reward

That's a big change from skin campaigns. The last three Brawl Stars skin campaigns, the Clancy esports campaign, "MAKE ANYTHING!" and "BRAWLERS, ASSEMBLE!", all promised winners "$2500 and your skin in-game, and the opportunity to giveaway 10 of them to your friend or community!" An icon is a much smaller asset than a skin, and the cash prize is replaced by 500 Gems, but the campaign has several winners instead of one per Brawler.

For scale, 500 Gems is more than three Epic skins at 149 Gems, or one 299-Gem Legendary skin with Gems to spare. It's also the only legitimate way we know of to earn hundreds of Gems by drawing. The "free Gem generator" sites aren't. They're scams after your Supercell ID login.

How do you become a finalist? (the 500-vote rule)

Winning is a two-step process. First the community has to vote you into the finals, then Supercell picks its favourites from the finalists. The FAQ explains:

"To become a Finalist you need to hit a certain number of votes. This number will be displayed above your submission. Once you reach this threshold, you'll be added to the Finalists category." — Supercell Make FAQ

For MAKE an Icon!, that threshold is 500 votes. That's the highest bar of the last three campaigns, though not an all-time record: 2022's "It's Pop Starr Emz" required 1,000 votes.

CampaignTypeFinalist thresholdPrize
MAKE ANYTHING! (Dec 2025 – Feb 2026)Skin250 votes$2,500 + skin in-game
BRAWLERS, ASSEMBLE! (2024)Skin250 votes$2,500 + skin in-game
MAKE a Clancy esports skin inspired by Japan! (May – Jul 2026)Skin100 votes$2,500 + skin in-game
MAKE an Icon! (Oct – Nov 2026)Player icon500 votes500 Gems + your icon

Reaching 500 votes doesn't win you anything by itself. It only makes your icon eligible. Supercell says it then picks "our favorite creations that meet our tough criteria to go in the game." The FAQ's own advice is to get feedback from the Supercell Make community on Reddit (r/SupercellMake), because "if you can earn a lot of votes on your creation, you'll have a better chance to make yourself noticed."

How do you submit an icon to Supercell Make?

  • Go to make.supercell.com, open the Brawl Stars section and pick MAKE an Icon! (it's the featured campaign on the home page right now).
  • Log in with your Supercell ID. It's the same account you use in Brawl Stars.
  • Upload your icon art. Icons use a 1:1 aspect ratio, preferably 1500×1500 px, as .jpg or .png.
  • Add a thumbnail (preferred 728×780 px) and a description of your idea. Supercell asks you to "tell us about your concept", so explain the reference or the joke behind it.
  • Optionally add extra gallery images (details, work in progress) and a YouTube video link.
  • Tick the confirmation that your submission contains no AI-generated content, then submit.
  • Wait for review (up to 72 hours). Approved creations go live on the site for voting.

What are the Icon Guidelines? (what gets rejected)

Supercell rejects creations that break its guidelines, and a rejected creation can't be fixed. You have to submit a new one. These are the rules from the official Icon Guidelines (shown on make.supercell.com when you start a submission):

  • Keep it Brawl Stars. "The work should stay true to the characters and the Brawl Stars universe, so players can immediately recognize: 'This is Brawl Stars.'" Memes are welcome, "but make them Brawl!"
  • Keep the black border. Every icon has a black border. Your art can "poke out" of the frame but must not extend outside it. Don't change the border's thickness.
  • Stay inside the square. The in-game icon is tiny (the guidelines mention 64×64 px), and "details get lost on mobile screens." Use bold, clean shapes and vibrant colours.
  • No recolors. Submit "a creative idea that stands out, not just slightly modifying an existing one."
  • Sketches are fine. "You don't need to send a polished final asset for us! As long as the idea is clear enough from your art, we can finalize it!"
  • No AI. "This is an art contest, so use your hands and your own imagination!"
  • No other brands. "This is not a collab!" No outside IP or brand references.
  • Be nice. No discrimination, real-world tragedies or violence, explicit content or political statements.

The 64×64 rule is the easiest one to trip over. Before you upload, shrink your icon to thumbnail size on your phone. If you can't tell what it is, simplify it.

Have Supercell Make designs actually made it into Brawl Stars?

Yes, and the most recent batch landed this autumn. All five winners of MAKE ANYTHING! (submissions closed January 21, 2026, winners announced February 25) are now in the game, according to the Brawl Stars Wiki:

The five MAKE ANYTHING! Supercell Make winning skins now in Brawl Stars: Retro Kit, Gravestone Griff, Bone Collector Alli, Twilight Queen Lily and Jörmungandr Doug

That's a gap of six to eight months from winner announcement to release. Supercell hasn't given a release schedule for winning icons. Skin timelines don't tell you much here, because an icon is far simpler to produce than a 3D skin. The Clancy campaign's winner (Final Blade Clancy by sowdyze, announced in late July 2026) has no release date yet.

Earlier Supercell Make winners include Horus Bo and Underworld Bo (the first campaign), Kraken Surge, Kabocha Fang, Dark Angel Colt (given free for Brawlidays 2023), Mr. Dragonfruit, Bubble Trouble Amber, Dragoon Belle, and the six "BRAWLERS, ASSEMBLE!" superhero skins such as Electroid Chuck and Firewing Janet. Several artists have won more than once. gedi-kor won in three different campaigns.

How do you vote in Supercell Make?

Voting for MAKE an Icon! opens November 3 at 08:00 UTC and closes November 11 at 21:00 UTC. To vote:

  • Log in at make.supercell.com with your Supercell ID.
  • Open the campaign and tap Start voting.
  • Swipe right (or tap upvote) to vote for an icon, swipe left to skip. Tap a creation to see its extra images.
  • The site tells you when your vote pushed a creation over the line: "Cool! You just made [creation] a finalist!"

Voting is free and doesn't affect your Brawl Stars account. It's the only phase where players who don't draw decide anything, so it's worth a few minutes if you want good icons in the game.
