Brawl Stars is deep into the Ramen Rebellion era, and the meta has shifted hard since last month. Season 52 "NanoNoodles" brought a new Legendary Brawler, a fresh in-match power system, and a live meta that the top-ladder win-rate trackers are re-sorting daily. If you're deciding who to upgrade, who to draft in Ranked, or who to ban, the list you memorized in June is already stale. This tier list ranks the best Brawlers in Brawl Stars as of July 2026 (Season 52), using live top-ladder data — not vibes — with the reasoning behind every placement and the best picks for each mode.

Quick answer (TLDR): As of mid-July 2026 (Season 52 "NanoNoodles"), the live top-ladder data puts Surge at #1 overall (a 53.6% win rate and ~5.7% pick rate across the top 200 players), alongside Starr Nova, Mortis, Edgar and Sirius in S-tier. In Ranked specifically, Damian leads on raw win rate (~57.8%), with Bolt posting the single highest win rate (~58.8%) at a lower pick rate. The newest Brawler, Nori (a Legendary Assassin, the 105th Brawler), is riding release-week hype into A-tier but is not yet a proven S-tier pick — one week of data is unreliable. The current confirmed balance state is still the big June 2026 patch; a July balance update has been leaked but is unconfirmed, so treat this as a July 2026 snapshot, not a permanent ranking.

What's new in Brawl Stars right now (Season 52)?

Season 52, "NanoNoodles," launched on July 2, 2026 as the first half of the two-season Update 68: "Ramen Rebellion" arc, which runs through early September (Brawl Stars official). It ends around August 6, 2026, when the connected Season 53 "Windstock" takes over. Three things matter for the tier list:

  • A new Legendary Brawler, Nori. Nori is an Assassin — the child of Kenji and Kaze from the Katana Kingdom, and lore-wise the first Brawler "born inside Starr Park." He fights with a fishing rod (a close-range slash, a ranged projectile, and a wall-pull). He's the 105th Brawler; the next one, Wendy (a Mythic Support), doesn't arrive until Season 53 in August. So the live roster right now is 105 Brawlers, not 106.

Nori, the new Legendary Assassin brawler added in Brawl Stars July 2026 (Season 52)

  • NanoPowers and NanoDrops. Season 52's headline mechanic is a temporary in-match power system: you pick a NanoPower before the match and charge it with NanoDrops during the game. It's a seasonal modifier, so it inflates the value of Brawlers who can snowball a lead.
  • A settled-but-shifting meta. The last confirmed balance patch is the huge June 2026 update (40+ Brawlers retuned, full reworks for Damian and Ash). Season 52's own balance changes have been widely leaked but not officially confirmed, so this list is built on the June patch plus live win-rate data.

The June patch is why the current meta looks the way it does. It buffed snipers and control Brawlers while trimming several aggressive picks. Per Supercell's June 2026 release notes, the nerfs included Surge's Hypercharge range cut from 20 to 16, Crow's attack lowered from 420 to 380, 8-Bit's Hypercharge rate reduced 15%, and Meg's Mecha Super charge rate cut 60%. Even with that Hypercharge nerf, Surge still tops the live win-rate charts — a sign of how strong his base kit is this season.

The same patch also handed Starr Nova a new Hypercharge that, per Supercell's June 2026 release notes, leaves her "invulnerable while dashing" with "near-unlimited ammo" — the single biggest reason she rocketed into S-tier this season.

The state of the meta in one line

Snipers and control Brawlers gained ground in June, a couple of dive staples were brought back to the pack, and the new season's snowball mechanic rewards Brawlers who can take over a game once they're ahead. That's the lens for everything below.

Brawl Stars tier list (July 2026)

This ranking synthesizes the leading live-data trackers — Brawlify and Brawl Time Ninja (both sampled from the top ~200 players and updated daily) — cross-checked against noff.gg and editorial lists from Dexerto and mmonster. It's weighted toward Brawlers that perform across multiple modes in Ranked, not one-map specialists. Brawlers not listed sit in the lower tiers.

TierBrawlers
SSurge, Damian, Starr Nova, Mortis, Edgar, Sirius
ABrock, 8-Bit, Meg, Colette, Crow, Colt, Bolt, Max, Bibi, Leon, Otis, Chester, Emz, Nori
BSpike, Rico, Bea, Byron, Berry, Chuck, Mico, Nita, Bo, Eve, Piper, Mandy, Gene, Cordelius, Shade, Kenji, Bull, Kit
CBelle, Angelo, Tara, Barley, Poco, Sandy, Pearl, Amber, Gus, Darryl, El Primo, Jessie, Penny, Sprout, Carl, Stu, Buzz, Fang, Rosa, Najia
DJacky, Dynamike, Tick, Mr. P, Sam, Bonnie, Grom, Frank, Doug, Hank, Pam, Ollie, Trunk, Squeak

A few honest caveats. The lists genuinely disagree at the top — the live win-rate engines (Brawlify, Brawl Time Ninja) crown Surge as the #1 all-mode Brawler, while Dexerto's editorial list is Damian-led. Both are defensible: Surge wins the top-200 aggregate, Damian wins several Ranked win-rate cuts. We put both in S. Nori is placed in A-tier, not S: only one tracker (noff.gg) ranks him into the top 10, and brand-new Brawlers always swing wildly in their first week before the data settles. Expect him to move.

Who are the best S-tier Brawlers right now?

Surge is the live-data king of Season 52. Across the top 200 players he's posting roughly a 53.6% win rate at a 5.7% pick rate — elite for a Brawler that's also frequently drafted. His ammo-and-range scaling lets him out-trade almost anyone in the mid-game, and he stayed dominant despite the June Hypercharge-range nerf. If you only learn one meta Brawler this season, make it Surge.

Damian is the safest first pick in Ranked. His June rework kept a huge health pool plus crowd control and area denial, and he leads several Ranked win-rate cuts (around 57.8%). Any mode where you need to hold an objective or win a close-range brawl, Damian is a lock.

Starr Nova was one of the biggest winners of the June patch and now has a Hypercharge; she's a genuine S-tier control/support presence that anchors her free-Mythic accessibility. Mortis remains the best aggressive assassin for backline pressure and clean-up, even after a small trim. Edgar is still a top dive pick and the single most-contested Brawler in Ranked drafts (~24% pick rate, and the usual first ban), even though his June nerf made him less of an auto-pick. Sirius rounds out S-tier as a high-ceiling damage dealer that spikes hard when the map and draft suit him.

Which A-tier Brawlers are worth picking up?

A-tier is where flexibility lives — strong picks that are slightly more map-, matchup-, or skill-dependent than the S-tier locks.

The June sniper-and-control buffs pushed Brock, 8-Bit, Meg, Colette and Crow up here: long-range poke and anti-tank damage are excellent in the current elimination-heavy meta. Colt climbed on the back of his raw DPS and carry potential, while Bolt — June's speed-scaling aggressor — is quietly posting the highest win rate in Ranked (~58.8%) at a low pick rate, which means he's underused and worth learning. Max brings unmatched mobility and team speed, Bibi is a menace on close-range Brawl Ball maps, Leon is the premier surprise-and-finish assassin, and Otis, Chester and Emz all spike hard in the right draft. Nori, the new Legendary, sits at the top of A-tier on hype: promising kit, unproven data.

Best Brawlers by mode (July 2026)

Tiers tell you raw strength; modes tell you who to actually draft. Here's where the meta picks shine right now:

  • Ranked (climbing overall): Damian, Chuck, Mico, Bolt as top picks; supported by Bibi, Eve, Nita, Edgar, Bo and Shade. Draft-safe, high-win-rate Brawlers that hold value across the map pool. (Edgar is the most common first ban.)
  • Brawl Ball: Mortis, Bibi, Chuck, Max and Surge — mobility and control win the football maps.
  • Showdown (solo/duo): Edgar, Leon, Crow, Spike, Mortis, Chester, Bibi, Bull, Cordelius and Shelly. Assassins and self-sufficient bruisers that win 1v1s and snowball power cubes.
  • Gem Grab: Byron and Berry for sustain, plus a mid-control pick like Damian or Chuck.
  • Knockout & Bounty: Bo, Eve and Piper for long-range vision and poke, with Damian as the bruiser anchor. The June sniper buffs make these elimination modes especially poke-friendly.
  • Heist: Chuck, Bibi and throwers (Sprout, Larry) for burst damage and safe zoning against the safe.

If you only have resources to max a couple of Brawlers, prioritize the ones that appear in multiple rows above — flexibility is what actually carries you up the ladder.

How to read this tier list (and how often it changes)

Brawl Stars rebalances roughly every few weeks, and a single patch can move a Brawler two full tiers. A tier list is a starting point, not a rulebook. Three things override it:

  • Map and mode. A C-tier Brawler can be the single best pick on the right map. Walls favor Rico and Bea; open maps favor snipers; objective modes favor tanks and control.
  • Your mastery. A Brawler you've played 500 games on will out-perform a "better" Brawler you've barely touched. Comfort and aim beat a letter grade.
  • Draft and bans. In Diamond and above, the draft-and-ban format means the best available pick beats the best overall pick. Learn two or three Brawlers per role so you're never forced into a bad blind pick. (For a full breakdown of the draft, bans and rank thresholds, see our Brawl Stars Ranked guide.)

Use the tier list to decide who to upgrade and learn first, then let map, mode and draft decide who you actually lock in each game. If you want a shorter shortlist, our best Brawlers in Brawl Stars breakdown covers the safest all-round picks.

A note on "free gems"

Tier lists drive a lot of "how do I unlock my favorite Brawler" searches, so one warning: the only legitimate ways to earn Gems and unlock Brawlers are in-game — the Brawl Pass, Starr Drops, events, the Starr Road, and official Supercell offers. Third-party "free gem generators" are scams. They don't work, they violate Supercell's terms, and they routinely steal account credentials. There is no shortcut, and chasing one is how accounts get stolen.

FAQ

Who is the best Brawler in Brawl Stars right now (July 2026)? By live top-ladder data, Surge is the strongest all-round Brawler in the Season 52 meta — roughly a 53.6% win rate at a 5.7% pick rate across the top 200 players. In Ranked specifically, Damian leads on win rate (~57.8%), and Bolt posts the single highest Ranked win rate (~58.8%) at a lower pick rate. Starr Nova, Mortis, Edgar and Sirius round out S-tier.

Is Nori good, and should I unlock him? Nori is the new Legendary Assassin (the 105th Brawler) and looks promising, but he's only days old at the time of writing, so his data is unreliable — most trackers place him in A-tier on hype, not proven S-tier. He's a fun, high-skill unlock, but if you're chasing ladder efficiency, upgrading a proven S-tier pick like Surge or Damian first is the smarter play.

Did a July 2026 update change the meta? The last confirmed balance patch is the big June 2026 update (40+ Brawlers retuned, reworks for Damian and Ash, new Hypercharges for Starr Nova and Bo). Season 52 "NanoNoodles" launched July 2 with the NanoPowers mechanic, and a July balance change has been leaked but not officially confirmed — so this tier list reflects the June patch plus live win-rate data, and we've deliberately left the unconfirmed leak numbers out.

How many Brawlers are in Brawl Stars now? As of July 2026 there are 105 Brawlers live, with Nori the newest. The 106th, Wendy (a Mythic Support), arrives with Season 53 "Windstock" in August 2026 — she's not playable yet.

How often does the Brawl Stars tier list change? Roughly every balance patch — about every few weeks — plus whenever a new Brawler or Hypercharge launches. Always check the patch date on any tier list; a list from before the latest update can be badly out of date, which is why this one is stamped July 2026.

Are Brawl Stars "free gem generators" safe? No. They are scams that don't deliver Gems and frequently steal account logins. The only safe sources of Gems are the in-game Brawl Pass, Starr Drops, events and official Supercell offers.
