Hero Mini PEKKA in Clash Royale: Breakfast Boost, Best Decks & Counters (October 2026)

Hero Mini P.E.K.K.A is the second most-used Hero in Clash Royale's Ranked mode right now, behind only Hero Ice Wizard (RoyaleDeck, October 20, 2026). He is the same 4-Elixir Rare tank killer every player unlocks in Training Camp, but in his Hero form he cooks pancakes while he fights. Press his ability, Breakfast Boost, and he eats them all: he heals and jumps up to five levels for the rest of his life. A Mini P.E.K.K.A that is five levels higher than your cards is not just a defensive unit any more. He is a counterpush win condition.

This guide covers how Breakfast Boost works in Season 88, the real Elixir cost, both nerfs since launch, where he sits in the October 2026 meta, the decks top players run with him, and how to beat him. Balance changes and quotes are checked against Supercell's official release notes. Card stats come from the Clash Royale Wiki and Liquipedia, and ladder numbers are labelled with their source and date.

Quick answer (TLDR): what does Hero Mini PEKKA do?

Hero Mini P.E.K.K.A is the normal Mini P.E.K.K.A (4 Elixir, Rare, fast single-target melee) plus one ability, Breakfast Boost, which costs 1 more Elixir. While he is on the board he fills a pancake meter. It fills over time, and faster every time he attacks. When you press the ability he eats the pancakes: he heals 30% of the damage he has taken and gains between 1 and 5 levels, depending on how full the meter is. It fires once per deployment. He arrived on December 1, 2025 (Season 78), was nerfed in January and February 2026, and was not touched in October. On RoyaleDeck's 7-day Ranked data (updated October 20, 2026) he has a 50.1% win rate at 9.2% use across 122,740 battles, the second most-played Hero in the game.

The three facts to remember:

  • Full cost is 5 Elixir, not 4. The card is 4, the ability is 1. Count trades at 5 whenever you press it.
  • Patience pays. A fresh Mini P.E.K.K.A that boosts straight away gets +1 level. One that has been fighting for a while can get +5.
  • The boost is permanent for that troop. He keeps the extra levels until he dies, which is why a defended Hero Mini P.E.K.K.A walks over the bridge and takes towers.

How does Breakfast Boost work?

Official Hero Mini P.E.K.K.A art eating a pancake during Breakfast Boost

Supercell's December 2025 release notes describe it like this: "Hero Mini P.E.K.K.A's love for pancakes is secret to no one! And now, the more pancakes he eats, the stronger he becomes. Every pancake he eats levels him up one level. So keep on stacking! Hero Mini P.E.K.K.A can stack up to five pancakes, giving you up to five extra levels!" (Supercell, December Update 2025)

In a battle, it works like this:

  • You deploy Hero Mini P.E.K.K.A for 4 Elixir. He plays exactly like the base card: 1.6-second hit speed, very high damage per hit, ground targets only.
  • His pancake meter starts filling. It cooks on a timer, and his card description (as quoted on the Clash Royale Wiki and Liquipedia) says he is "speeding up cooking time with each attack". Since February 2026, one segment takes 22 seconds to cook on time alone. The Clash Royale Wiki measures each attack as worth about 10 seconds of cooking. He swings every 1.6 seconds, so a Mini P.E.K.K.A that is busy hitting things fills up many times faster than one walking down an empty lane.
  • You press the ability above your hand and pay 1 Elixir. After a short delay (the Wiki lists a 0.933-second cast), he eats every pancake he has cooked.
  • He heals 30% of the damage he has taken and gains levels. Supercell lists the stat as "Damage Healed", and RoyaleAPI's launch breakdown calculates it from the gap between his current and maximum hitpoints, so it restores 30% of his missing hitpoints, not 30% of his maximum. With an empty meter he still gets +1 level. A full meter gives the maximum of +5. Every level adds about 10% to his hitpoints and damage, so a full boost makes him roughly 60% stronger than the card you placed.

The ability is single-use. You get one Breakfast Boost per Mini P.E.K.K.A you deploy. That was already true for him at launch, and in August 2026 Supercell made it the rule for every Hero and Champion: "all abilities, except for Boss Bandit—whose ability was designed for rapid consecutive activations—will now be single-use." (Supercell, August 2026 balance changes)

What changed? Every Hero Mini PEKKA nerf since launch

Hero Mini P.E.K.K.A has had two targeted official changes since he launched, both in early 2026. Neither the October 6 nor the October 19, 2026 balance passes mentioned him.

DateChangeSource
January 12, 2026Hero heal 40% → 30% (−25%); base Mini P.E.K.K.A hitpoints 1,433 → 1,390 (−3%), which also hits the HeroJanuary Balance Changes
February 2, 2026Cooking time 20s → 22s (+10%)February Balance Changes
August 4, 2026Game-wide rule: every Hero and Champion ability becomes single-use (Boss Bandit excepted). His Breakfast Boost was already once per deployment, so this did not change himAugust 2026 Balance Changes

Supercell's reasoning for the January nerf is the best one-line summary of the card: "Mini P.E.K.K.A was already one of the best tank killers before he became a Hero, but then he started overcooking everything." In February they followed up because he "continued to cook up a storm with his level-up ability, so we're making it a bit harder for him to charge up his level bar."

The net effect: he heals less, charges a bit slower and has slightly fewer hitpoints than at launch. The core of the card, a cheap tank killer that becomes a win condition after one good defense, is unchanged.

Is Hero Mini PEKKA good in October 2026?

Yes. He sits in A tier on RoyaleDeck's Ranked Hero list and people play him a lot, but he is not the strongest on win rate.

  • RoyaleDeck (7-day Ranked data, updated October 20, 2026): 50.1% win rate, 9.2% use rate, 122,740 battles. That is 7th of 18 Heroes on their list (level on 50.1% with Hero Balloon) and A tier on their scale. Only Hero Ice Wizard (9.5%) is played more. The win-rate leaders are Hero Bowler and Hero Goblins (both 50.8%). (RoyaleDeck Heroes)
  • SeeMeta (top-player Ranked, October 15–20, 2026, 658,865 battles): he shows up as the Hero in Golem, Goblin Giant, Royal Hogs and Giant beatdown decks. His best exact variants win 51.6–53.2% of games (decks below). (SeeMeta decks)

Why so popular? He fits almost any deck. Every list needs a tank killer, and the base Mini P.E.K.K.A is one of the most common answers to Golem, Giant, Hog Rider and Royal Hogs. Swapping him for the Hero form costs no deck slot. His defense is the same as the base card's, and the counterattack threat costs 1 extra Elixir. The trade-off is that he takes your Hero slot (or the Wild slot), so he competes with other Heroes and Champions. He also does not compete for the Evolution slot, so a Hero Mini P.E.K.K.A deck can still run two Evolutions (one in the Evo slot, one in the Wild slot).

His weakness is the same as the base card's. He is slow to hit and ground-only, so swarms and air troops make him look bad, and he can waste the meter he spent half a minute building.

How do you get Hero Mini PEKKA?

Official Hero Mini P.E.K.K.A 3D card render in golden armor

  • Reach Arena 5. That is where Heroes and the first Hero slot unlock.
  • Own the base Mini P.E.K.K.A. Every player unlocks it in Training Camp, so this is never the blocker.
  • Collect 200 Hero Coins and choose him. Since the mid-March 2026 update, random Hero summons are gone. You pick the Hero you want, and Hero Coins are capped at 200 (overflow turns into Gems 1:1). Per the March 2026 update notes, new players receive 200 Hero Coins when they reach Arena 5, so your first Hero is free.

He launched on December 1, 2025 in Season 78 "Heroic Holidays" as one of the first four Heroes, alongside Hero Knight, Hero Musketeer and Hero Giant (Supercell, New Season: Heroic Holidays).

Should he be your first Hero? If you already use Mini P.E.K.K.A, he is one of the safest picks. He upgrades a card you already play and does not force you into a new deck. If you are choosing purely on win rate, compare him with our best Clash Royale Hero to unlock first breakdown before you spend the 200 coins.

What are the best Hero Mini PEKKA decks in October 2026?

All four decks come from SeeMeta's top-player Ranked data for October 15–20, 2026. The win rates are for these exact Hero Mini P.E.K.K.A variants, not the deck family's headline. None of the cards nerfed in the October 19 update (Cannon Cart, Dart Goblin, Minion Giant, Rune Giant) appear in these lists. Every deck fits the slot rules: one Evolution in the Evo slot, and either a second Evolution or a second Hero in the Wild slot.

1. Golem beatdown with Evo Elite Barbarians (most played)

SlotCard
HeroHero Mini P.E.K.K.A
EvoElite Barbarians Evolution
WildZap Evolution
Golem, Night Witch, Phoenix, Bomber, Arrows

51.6% over 5,990 games. Average Elixir 4.1. This is the Hero Mini P.E.K.K.A list top players use most. Golem gives you a long, safe push, and Mini P.E.K.K.A stays home as the tank killer. The usual game plan is to defend first with him, let the meter build while he chews through the opponent's push, then boost him behind the Golem when he crosses the bridge. The opponent's tank killer now has to choose between Golem and a five-levels-higher Mini P.E.K.K.A.

2. Goblin Giant Sparky (highest win rate)

SlotCard
HeroHero Mini P.E.K.K.A
EvoGoblin Giant Evolution
WildZap Evolution
Sparky, Dark Prince, Electro Wizard, Rage, Heal Spirit

53.2% over 1,683 games. Average Elixir 3.6. This is the strongest exact Hero Mini P.E.K.K.A variant with a real sample. Goblin Giant and Sparky are the threats. Mini P.E.K.K.A and Dark Prince kill whatever the opponent sends to stop them. Rage on a boosted Mini P.E.K.K.A at the tower ends games fast.

3. Royal Hogs cycle with Evo Royal Hogs

SlotCard
HeroHero Mini P.E.K.K.A
EvoRoyal Hogs Evolution
WildFirecracker Evolution
Ice Golem, Bats, The Log, Goblin Gang, Fireball

52.9% over 288 games. Average Elixir 3.1. The cheapest list here, and the small sample means you should take the number with care. Mini P.E.K.K.A is the main defense against enemy beatdown. When he survives, he walks down a lane next to Royal Hogs and splits the opponent's defense. A Bats Evolution version (Bats Evo in the Wild slot instead of Firecracker) is close behind at 52.2% over 327 games.

4. Double-Hero Giant: Hero Giant + Hero Mini PEKKA

SlotCard
HeroHero Giant
EvoWizard Evolution
WildHero Mini P.E.K.K.A
Sparky, Tornado, Vines, Zap, Heal Spirit

51.8% over 702 games. Average Elixir 3.6. This variant spends the Wild slot on a second Hero instead of an Evolution, so Zap is the normal card here. Hero Giant pulls the defense forward, Tornado and Vines hold it in place, and a boosted Mini P.E.K.K.A behind the Giant gets very hard to answer. Both Heroes came out on the same day, December 1, 2025.

When should you press Breakfast Boost? Five rules

  • Don't boost on placement. An instant boost gives +1 level, the minimum. Unless he is about to die, let the meter cook.
  • Boost to survive, not just to win. The heal (30% of the damage he has taken) plus the new levels can turn a lost fight into a survival. If he is about to die to a big hit with pancakes in the meter, boosting is a 1-Elixir save.
  • Make him hit things. Every attack speeds up the cooking. When it is safe, put him on the support troops behind a tank rather than the tank itself. At equal level he one-shots a Musketeer (721 hitpoints against his 755 damage at Level 11, per the Wiki) and needs two hits on a Wizard (832), then works through the tank and keeps cooking.
  • Usually boost at the bridge, not at your tower. If he survives the defense comfortably, boost as he crosses the river so the opponent has to deal with the big version right away. If he is about to die on defense, rule 2 wins.
  • Watch their swarm cards. If the opponent is holding Skeletons, Goblins or Guards, a boosted Mini P.E.K.K.A still hits once every 1.6 seconds. Bait the swarm out first or support him with splash.

How do you counter Hero Mini PEKKA?

  • Swarm him. His 1.6-second hit speed is the big weakness of the base card, and the Hero form has it too. Skeletons, Goblins, Guards and Skeleton Army take him down for less Elixir, and Guards' shields soak his first hits.
  • Kill him before he cooks. He gets stronger the longer he lives. Answer him early with a cheap swarm or air troop instead of letting him stand in a long trade and build a full meter.
  • Use air. Minions, Bats, Baby Dragon and other air troops can attack him freely, since he only hits ground.
  • Punish the investment. An opponent who places him and boosts at once has spent 5 Elixir on one troop. If you answered cheaply, push the other lane while they are low.
  • Pull him away. A building in the center, or a ranged troop placed far from him, wastes his time walking. That is time he is not spending on your tower.

FAQ

Is Hero Mini PEKKA good in Clash Royale right now? Yes. On RoyaleDeck's 7-day Ranked data (updated October 20, 2026) he has a 50.1% win rate at 9.2% use across 122,740 battles, the second most-played Hero. His best exact decks in SeeMeta's top-player Ranked data win 51.6–53.2% of games.

How much Elixir is Breakfast Boost? The ability costs 1 Elixir on top of the card's 4, so a boosted Hero Mini P.E.K.K.A is a 5-Elixir investment.

How many levels does Hero Mini PEKKA gain? Between 1 and 5. Boosting with an empty meter gives +1. A full pancake meter gives the maximum of five extra levels, which he keeps until he dies.

Can you use Breakfast Boost more than once? No. Breakfast Boost has always fired once per deployment, and since August 4, 2026 that is the rule for every Hero and Champion ability, with Boss Bandit the only exception.

Was Hero Mini PEKKA nerfed? Twice. On January 12, 2026 his heal went from 40% to 30% and the base card lost 3% hitpoints. On February 2, 2026 his cook time went from 20 to 22 seconds. Nothing changed in the October 6 or October 19, 2026 updates.

How do I get Hero Mini PEKKA? Reach Arena 5, collect 200 Hero Coins and choose him. You also need the base Mini P.E.K.K.A, which every player unlocks in Training Camp.
