TL;DR — Diablo 4 Season 14 boss loot table: In Season 14 (Death Awakening), patch 3.1.0, every boss is now a Lair Boss you fight for free — the key opens the Hoard (loot chest), not the fight. Keys tier up: Lair Key (Initiate bosses like Varshan, Grigoire, Beast in the Ice) → Greater Lair Key (Duriel, Andariel, Harbinger, Butcher) → Superior Lair Key (Belial + the seasonal Corrupted Reaper). Each boss has one dedicated pool of target-farmable Uniques (e.g. Duriel → Razorplate, Andariel → Godslayer Crown, Grigoire → Paingorger's Gauntlets). Mythic Uniques are NOT boss-locked — any Lair Boss can drop them from the account-wide pool, with Belial and the Corrupted Reaper carrying the highest Mythic odds in the game. Full table below, verified against the live 3.1.0 build.
If you're farming a specific Unique in Season of Death Awakening, you don't want a wall of theory — you want to know which boss to run and what key it costs. This guide is the complete Season 14 boss loot table: every Lair Boss, its dedicated target-farm Uniques, the exact key tier that opens its Hoard, and where the Mythic Uniques actually come from (spoiler: not where most stale guides tell you).
Everything below is checked against the patch 3.1.0 build (launched June 30, 2026) and the official notes. If a guide still lists "Shard of Agony" or "Distilled Fear" as summon costs, it's running on pre-Season-8 data — that whole material system is gone. How does boss loot work in Diablo 4 Season 14?
Three rules changed the game since the early seasons, and getting them right is the difference between an efficient farm and wasted keys:
- The key opens the Hoard, not the boss. You can walk into any Lair Boss and fight it for free. The Lair Key is spent on the Hoard — the big loot chest that appears after the kill. No key, no Hoard loot.
- In a group, only one player needs a key. One member spends a key to open the Hoard and everyone loots it. This is the single biggest key-saver in the game and the fact most guides skip.
- Torment scaling stacks loot. From Torment III and up, each kill drops a bonus Unique, and Mythic drop rates climb with every Torment tier. Group play adds roughly +33% loot per extra member.
The keys form a clean ladder. Lower bosses drop the keys for the next tier up, so the whole loop feeds itself:
| Key | Opens | Where it comes from |
|---|---|---|
| Lair Key | Tier 1 (Initiate) Hoards | War Plans, Helltide, World Bosses, Legion Events, Tree of Whispers caches |
| Greater Lair Key | Tier 2 (Greater) Hoards | Killing Initiate bosses, converting a Stygian Stone 1:1, War Plans |
| Superior Lair Key | Tier 3 Hoards (Belial + Corrupted Reaper) | Clearing a Deathtoll Chamber (reached via a Realmwalker kill or a Nightmare Dungeon with the Rupture affix) |
| Crux of the False Prophet | Mephisto's Hoard | Rare drop at Torment X+ |
Note: "Superior Lair Key" is the patch 3.1.0 official rename of the old "Betrayer's Husk." Same item — any guide still calling it Betrayer's Husk is stale.
Diablo 4 Season 14 boss loot table (all target-farm Uniques)
Here's the core of it. Each boss below has a dedicated Unique pool — these are the items you can actually target-farm by running that specific boss. The "signature" column is the classic chase item most players run each boss for.
Tier 1 — Initiate bosses (Lair Key)
| Boss | Region / Lair | Signature target-farm | Also in the pool |
|---|---|---|---|
| Echo of Varshan | Hawezar — Malignant Burrow | 100,000 Steps | Autumnal Crown, Hangman's Hand, Shard of Verathiel |
| Grigoire, The Galvanic Saint | Dry Steppes — Hall of the Penitent | Paingorger's Gauntlets | Gohr's Devastating Grips, The Oculus (new in S14), Vision of the Firestorm |
| The Beast in the Ice | Fractured Peaks — Glacial Fissure | Signet of Pelghain | Ring of the Ravenous, Deathless Visage, Accord of the Wilds |
| Lord Zir | Fractured Peaks — The Darkened Way | X'Fal's Corroded Signet | Fields of Crimson, Gathlen's Birthright, Cruor's Embrace |
| Urivar | Nahantu — near Kichuk Waypoint | Yen's Blessing | Mantle of Mountain's Fury, Dark Howl, Gospel of the Devotee |
Tier 2 — Greater bosses (Greater Lair Key)
| Boss | Region / Lair | Signature target-farm | Also in the pool |
|---|---|---|---|
| Duriel, King of Maggots | Kehjistan — The Gaping Crevasse | Razorplate | Sabre of Tsasgal, Path of Trag'Oul, Mutilator Plate, Widow's Web |
| Andariel | Kehjistan — Hanged Man's Hall | Godslayer Crown | Hellhammer, Storm's Companion, Lidless Wall, Ebonpiercer |
| Harbinger of Hatred | Nahantu — near Kurast Docks | Temerity | Bane of Ahjed-Den, Fleshrender, Blood Wake, Spine of Tathamet |
| The Butcher | Kehjistan — Gea Kul (roaming) | The Butcher's Cleaver | Chainscourged Mail, Fury of the Wilds, Mace of King Leoric |
Tier 3 & activity bosses
| Boss | Key / Access | What it's for |
|---|---|---|
| Belial, Lord of Lies | 2× Superior Lair Key | Highest Mythic drop chance of any Lair Boss. No fixed table — his Hoard mimics whichever boss table you select, plus top Mythic odds |
| Corrupted Reaper (seasonal) | 1× Superior Lair Key | Highest Mythic Unique rate in the game + best Pandemonium Fragment source. Account-wide Mythic pool, no class table |
| Astaroth | Escalation Sigil | Nightmare Escalations final boss — Battle Trance, Dirge of Airidah, Griswold's Opus |
| Bartuc | 666 Burning Aether (Infernal Hordes) | Alt Horde boss — Arreat's Bearing, Earthbreaker, Eye of Baal |
| Echo of Mephisto | Crux of the False Prophet | Pinnacle — the only source of Mythic Unique Seals (Talisman socketables), high Ancestral + Mythic odds |
| Echo of Lilith (Uber Lilith) | None — skill check | Prestige only. First kill = guaranteed Resplendent Spark + title + mount. No target-farm table |
Where do Mythic Uniques drop in Season 14?
This is the number-one thing stale tables get wrong, so read it twice: Mythic Uniques are not tied to a single boss.
In the Season 14 "Mythic 3.0" system, Mythic is a quality, not a rarity. Any Unique can drop as a Mythic, and every Lair Boss pulls Mythics from the account-wide pool — not a boss-specific list. There is no "farm Duriel for Andariel's Visage" anymore in the old sense; you farm the boss with the best Mythic weighting.
The weighting that actually matters:
- Corrupted Reaper — the seasonal Tier 3 boss carries the highest Mythic Unique drop rate of any activity in the game (Blizzard-stated), and it's the best source of Pandemonium Fragments for crafting Mythics yourself.
- Belial — highest Mythic chance of any permanent Lair Boss, and the go-to target for Ring of Starless Skies.
- Duriel, Andariel, and Harbinger of Hatred — roughly +50% Mythic weighting versus baseline Lair Bosses.
So the honest answer to "which boss drops the best Mythics" is: run the Corrupted Reaper while Season 14 is live (it expires with the season), fall back to Belial for permanent farming, and use Duriel/Andariel if you're already sitting on Greater Lair Keys. If you'd rather craft than gamble, the Horadric Cube converts any Unique to Mythic with Pandemonium Fragments — our Mythic Uniques 3.0 guide covers that path.

What's the fastest boss to farm keys and Uniques?
Efficiency in Season 14 is about the key ladder, not raw kills. The optimal loop looks like this:
- Farm Lair Keys passively while you do endgame — War Plans, Helltides and Tree of Whispers caches feed them constantly at Torment 6+.
- Chain Initiate bosses (Varshan, Grigoire, Zir) with those Lair Keys. They're fast, and their Hoards drop the Greater Lair Keys you need for Duriel and Andariel.
- Bank Superior Lair Keys from Deathtoll Chamber clears and spend them on the Corrupted Reaper for the best Mythic-per-key value this season.
- Group up. Since one key opens the Hoard for the whole party, a four-player rotation quarters your key cost per player and adds ~33% loot per member.
One data point from the community makes the season-timing case: the Corrupted Reaper is the best Pandemonium Fragment farm in the game, and Fragments are the Season 14 currency for both crafting Mythics and upgrading them — so keys spent on the Reaper do double duty.
Patch note, straight from Blizzard (3.1.1, July 14): Blizzard increased Mythic Unique and Pandemonium Fragment drop rates and "fixed an issue that was preventing certain sources of Uniques from dropping as Mythic, including Lair Bosses" (Diablo IV patch notes). Translation: after July 14, every Lair Boss in the table above becomes a better Mythic farm than it was at season launch — hold your keys for it.
How do I find which boss drops a specific Unique?
Because each non-Mythic Unique has exactly one dedicated boss source, target-farming works cleanly for those items — you just need the reverse lookup. A few of the most-searched ones:
- Razorplate → Duriel
- Godslayer Crown → Andariel
- Paingorger's Gauntlets → Grigoire
- Temerity → Harbinger of Hatred
- The Butcher's Cleaver → The Butcher
- X'Fal's Corroded Signet → Lord Zir
- Signet of Pelghain → The Beast in the Ice
For the full item-first index — search any Unique and it tells you the exact boss, key, and slot — the Diablo 4 Boss Loot Table tool does it in one click, filterable by class and gear slot. It's built off the same verified 3.1.0 data as this guide.
FAQ
Which Diablo 4 boss drops the most Mythic Uniques in Season 14? The seasonal Corrupted Reaper has the highest Mythic Unique drop rate of any activity in the game this season, followed by Belial for permanent farming. Both are Tier 3 bosses opened with Superior Lair Keys. Mythics come from the account-wide pool, not a boss-specific list, so you farm the boss with the best Mythic weighting rather than a boss "assigned" to a specific Mythic.
Do you need a key to fight bosses in Diablo 4 Season 14? No. You can fight any Lair Boss for free. The key is spent on the Hoard — the loot chest that appears after the kill. In a group, only one player needs to spend a key, and the whole party loots the opened Hoard.
What's the difference between a Lair Key, Greater Lair Key, and Superior Lair Key? They open different boss tiers. Lair Keys open Tier 1 Initiate bosses (Varshan, Grigoire, Beast in the Ice, Lord Zir, Urivar). Greater Lair Keys open Tier 2 bosses (Duriel, Andariel, Harbinger, Butcher). Superior Lair Keys open Tier 3 — Belial (needs 2) and the seasonal Corrupted Reaper (needs 1). Lower bosses drop the keys for the next tier up.
Is the Corrupted Reaper permanent in Diablo 4? No — the Corrupted Reaper is a Season 14-only boss tied to the Pandemonium Ruptures theme. It expires when Season of Death Awakening ends, so farm it for Mythics and Pandemonium Fragments while it's live. Belial is the permanent Tier 3 alternative.
Does Uber Lilith drop target-farmable Uniques? No. Echo of Lilith (Uber Lilith) is a prestige skill-check, not a farm. Your first kill grants a guaranteed Resplendent Spark, the "Lilith" title, and the Reins of the Bloody Liquid Steed mount; repeat kills only give two items once per character. She has no dedicated Unique table.
Did patch 3.1.0 change any boss loot tables? Yes — The Oculus was added to Grigoire's Unique pool in Season 14, and "Betrayer's Husk" was officially renamed to "Superior Lair Key." The follow-up patch 3.1.1 (July 14) also raised Mythic and Pandemonium Fragment drop rates and fixed Lair Bosses that weren't correctly dropping Mythics.
