Is FUTTIES Team 4 actually worth buying into?
Short verdict: yes if you're an everyday player with squad gaps, no if you've already got a God Squad or you're winding down before FC 27.
Here's the logic. FUTTIES is EA's end-of-season celebration, and EA Sports confirmed on the official FC 26 FUTTIES hub that it runs "FOUR WEEKS OF FUTTIES." That makes Team 4 the final squad — there is no Team 5, and no new FUTTIES cards release after August 21. So the usual "wait for next week's better card" hedge is gone. What you see this week is what you get for the rest of FC 26.
That cuts both ways:
- Worth it if: you'll play daily Weekend League, Rivals and Squad Battles for the next few weeks, and you still have a position running an 88–92 that a FUTTIES upgrade would meaningfully improve. Which Team 4 card types give the best value for your coins?
Not all FUTTIES cards are equal value. Ranked by coins-per-usefulness for a normal player:
1. Cheap live-player cards (96–97 OVR) — best value. Every FUTTIES team includes non-headliner live players (last year's teams mixed Icons and Heroes with current pros). These land in packs and on the market, and within 24–48 hours of a drop the tradeable ones often settle to affordable prices as supply floods in. A 96–97 meta winger or fullback for 30–80K is a far better use of coins than a 400K Icon. Buy these on Saturday/Sunday, not Friday night — day-one prices are inflated.
2. Untradeable SBC & objective cards — best value if you have fodder. FUTTIES SBC and objective players are locked to your club, but if you can complete them largely with idle or untradeable fodder you already own, they're nearly free power. The rule of thumb that's held all promo: it's worth it if you'd have completed it with fodder in your club anyway — it's a trap if you have to buy most of the requirements at inflated FUTTIES-week fodder prices.
3. Big Icon SBCs (e.g. R9) — worst value per coin, best for collectors. You don't have to wait for Friday to spend well. There are already high-value SBCs live that expire during the final week — clear the best ones before Team 4 dumps a fresh wave of fodder demand and prices spike.
The standout is the recurring 95+ Player Pick SBC — the in-game requirement (as tracked on fut.gg) is to earn "1 of 4 FOF (not including FOF Greats of the Game) released after June 5th or FUTTIES Team 1–3 (not including Icons) player item, rated 95 or higher."
