Last Epoch Uber Aberroth boss guide Season 5 Patch 1.5

Quick Answer

Uber Aberroth is Last Epoch's hardest pinnacle boss in Season 5 (Patch 1.5). To access it: complete the Forgotten Knights questline in the Empowered Monolith by killing all 10 Harbingers, defeat regular Aberroth to collect the Threshold of Eternity (100% drop), then place that Woven Echo in your Echo Web at 500+ Corruption. Uber Aberroth has five phases, two permanently stacking debuffs, Harbinger interrupts in Phases 2 and 4, and a full heal at the start of Phase 5. Kill it to earn Immortal Vise (80%) or Shattered Worlds (20%), the only two items in the game exclusive to this encounter.

Season 5 community data puts this plainly: according to a community poll posted on r/LastEpoch in Season 5, 77% of respondents had never beaten regular Aberroth, let alone the Uber version. That number tells you two things. First, this boss is genuinely rare endgame content — most players never reach it. Second, a well-written guide is valuable because even players who are geared enough often have no idea what the phases actually do.

Maxroll's Season 5 bossing tier list uses Uber Aberroth kill time as the benchmark for ranking every build. If your build does not appear on that tier list, it probably cannot kill this boss. Use the readiness check below before committing to the attempt.

What Is Uber Aberroth?

Aberroth, Herald of Oblivion is Last Epoch's pinnacle boss added in Patch 1.1 (Harbingers of Ruin). The standard version is already challenging endgame content. Uber Aberroth is a harder variant accessed through a separate Woven Echo, with massively increased health and damage, additional Harbinger interrupts, and a full health reset at Phase 5. It is the hardest encounter in the game as of Patch 1.5, harder than Pinnacle Morditas (Season 5's seasonal boss). Beating it requires mastering all regular Aberroth mechanics and executing them cleanly across a much longer fight.

Both versions are only accessible in the Online Cycle (Softcore or Hardcore).

How to Unlock Uber Aberroth

Uber Aberroth access is gated behind two sequential steps. The first is killing regular Aberroth.

Step 1 — Complete the Forgotten Knights questline. Inside the Empowered Monolith, you will encounter Harbingers: rare elite enemies that spawn in Monolith echoes. Kill all 10 Harbingers across your runs. Once all 10 are dead, you receive a Harbinger Eye. Spend it at the Altar of Oblivion near the back of the Shattered Road zone to open the portal to regular Aberroth. The Harbingers themselves drop useful items — see the drop table section below.

Step 2 — Beat regular Aberroth and collect the Threshold of Eternity. Regular Aberroth has a 100% drop rate on the Threshold of Eternity, a unique Woven Echo item. This is your access key to the Uber fight.

Step 3 — Place the Woven Echo at 500+ Corruption. Open your Echo Web and place the Threshold of Eternity. The game requires your current Corruption to be at least 500 to slot it. Community consensus puts the practical readiness bar higher: "As long as you can manage 700-plus corruption Monoliths and execute the mechanics correctly, you can kill Uber Aberroth," noted one of the early Season 5 clear posts on r/LastEpoch. Characters who struggle at 500 Corruption will be punished hard by the faster Phase 4 attacks.

Drop Table: What Does Uber Aberroth Drop?

Uber Aberroth is the only reliable source for two chase Uniques in Season 5.

DropChance
Immortal Vise80%
Shattered Worlds20%

Source: Maxroll.gg Aberroth Boss Guide (updated Patch 1.5, October 2026).

Immortal Vise is the high-odds drop, but Shattered Worlds at 20% is not negligible across farming sessions. Both are Uber-exclusive and will not drop from regular Aberroth. The Harbingers that spawn during the Uber fight also drop Harbinger-specific Uniques (Aberroth's Command, Bane of Winter, Black Blade of Chaos, and seven others) on top of the main table.

Are You Ready? Pre-Fight Checklist

Before your first Uber Aberroth attempt, verify:

  • You can beat regular Aberroth with each phase transitioning in under 5 to 10 seconds. This is the community DPS benchmark. A slow phase transition means Phase 5 will outlast you.
  • Your resistances are capped (or above cap). The Curse of Aberroth debuff stacks permanently and reduces every resistance by 10% per stack; any gap in your resistance cap compounds quickly.
  • You have Crit Avoidance capped (100%). The fight's late-phase attacks deal massive Physical damage and will one-shot uncapped characters.
  • You have a reliable source of Void and Physical damage reduction — both are the boss's primary damage types. Stack defensive layers rather than relying on pure health.
  • Your build can farm 700-plus Corruption comfortably without leaning on health flasks constantly.

Internal reference: if your character is still working through the Corruption ramp, our Last Epoch Corruption Guide covers the Gaze system, loot scaling milestones, and the Empowered Monolith transition.

Two Debuffs That Will Kill You

Understanding Aberroth's two signature debuffs is mandatory. They work differently and require different responses.

Frailty of Aberroth

Applied by: Void Beams and Quicksand ground effects.

  • 5% less damage dealt per stack
  • 10% less health leech, ward retention, and health regen per stack
  • 50% reduced healing effectiveness per stack
  • Unlimited stacks; each stack lasts 4 seconds

This debuff is dangerous because it snowballs. A few stacks halves your sustain and noticeably reduces your damage output. You cannot completely avoid it — it refreshes each time a Void Beam or Quicksand patch hits you — but minimizing stack count is key. Clearing Persisting Void (the lingering ground effect left by orbs) is the primary way to prevent Quicksand from stacking Frailty on you throughout the fight.

Curse of Aberroth

Applied by: Cursing Scythe only.

  • Reduces All Resistances by 10% per stack
  • Cannot be cleansed
  • Effectively permanent (1,000,000 second duration)
  • Unlimited stacks

One hit from Cursing Scythe is a 10% resistance penalty that stays until you die. Two hits at 20% means your capped resistances are now 55% before any enemy modifier — and Aberroth applies further resistance penalties through other abilities. There is no recovery mechanic. Treat Cursing Scythe as a one-hit wipe mechanic: if you are hit, the run is harder; if you are hit multiple times, the run is likely over.

Phase-by-Phase Guide

Uber Aberroth fight Season 5 void mechanics in-game screenshot

Aberroth gains new abilities in each phase. On every phase transition the boss takes 90% less damage for 4.5 seconds and becomes stun-immune — do not burn cooldowns into a transition.

Phase 1 — Void Mechanics

Phase 1 teaches you the core loops that run throughout the entire fight.

Timeshattering Slam: Aberroth charges for 4.5 seconds (Absorbing Chaos animation), then releases a large expanding circle dealing massive Void and Physical damage. This is your highest-value DPS window — front-load damage into the charge, then exit the circle before it fires.

Persisting Void: Orbs scatter and leave Void pools on the ground. These are the single biggest threat in a long fight. Use Superheated Black Hole to destroy Persisting Void; leaving pools to accumulate forces you into increasingly tighter safe spaces and stacks Frailty via Quicksand.

Void Beams: Beams fire from Aberroth and persist in the arena. In the Uber version they apply to both sides simultaneously, meaning arena management becomes mandatory by Phase 4 rather than optional. Place beams along the arena edges where they obstruct the least safe space.

Other Phase 1 abilities include Triple Flail Slam, Slam + Ground of Destruction, Superchilled Black Hole, Blade of Chaos, and standard melee attacks (Melee Attack, Charge, Flail Dash, Backward Hop). Phase 1 is the cleanest iteration of every mechanic — the later phases are variations under worse conditions.

Phase 2 — Meteors and First Harbinger (Uber Only)

Phase 2 adds Called Meteors, Lobbed Meteors, and Roots to the phase 1 rotation.

For Uber Aberroth: a Harbinger spawns at the start of Phase 2. The boss becomes immune until you kill the Harbinger. Treat the Harbinger as a priority — if you dawdle, the combined pressure of meteors, the Harbinger, and Persisting Void quickly overwhelms positioning. The Harbinger drops loot on death; you can collect it after the fight.

Phase 3 — The Quadrant System and Cursing Scythe

Phase 3 splits the arena into four quadrants with distinct ground effects:

QuadrantEffect
QuicksandApplies Frailty of Aberroth (stacks fast)
LightningApplies Shock of Aberroth (5% increased damage taken per stack)
WindsApplies Chill of Aberroth (reduces movement, attack, and cast speed)
Fiery GroundSmall fire damage only

Stand on Fiery Ground. It is the only quadrant without a Frailty/Shock/Chill debuff. The fire damage is negligible as long as you have baseline sustain. Quicksand is the most dangerous quadrant because it stacks Frailty and accelerates faster than you can dodge.

Phase 3 also introduces Cursing Scythe — see the debuff section above. Aberroth's Cursing Scythe is a sweeping attack; anticipate it like a standard dodge and treat every hit as a failed run regardless of current health.

For Uber Aberroth: a second Harbinger spawns at the start of Phase 4 (not Phase 3). Keep that in mind when planning cooldown rotation.

Phase 4 — Second Harbinger and Laser of Death (Uber Only)

Phase 4 adds Cosmic Absorption → Lazer of Death to the rotation: Aberroth charges for 2.5 seconds then fires a tracking laser. Move out of the charge-up area, then sidestep the beam when it fires.

Phase 4 also compresses the Timeshattering Slam charge from 4.5 seconds down to 3 seconds, which means the DPS window is shorter. The arena is smaller in this phase, making Persisting Void management harder and Void Beam placement more critical.

For Uber Aberroth: the second Harbinger spawns at the start of Phase 4, again making the boss immune. If you did not use a cooldown rotation that can quickly pivot to a Harbinger burst, this is the phase where most runs fall apart. Stay composed, kill the Harbinger, resume the boss.

Phase 5 — Full Heal (Uber Only)

Phase 5 only exists in the Uber version. Aberroth heals to full health at the start of Phase 5. This is not a glitch. Every Uber Aberroth kill requires sustaining damage, avoiding Cursing Scythe, and managing Persisting Void for a second complete health bar worth of fight — all while your Frailty stacks and any Curse stacks from earlier phases still apply.

If your Curse stack count is high entering Phase 5, your resistances are too depleted to survive the remaining fight. This is why the first Uber kill in Season 5 took approximately 96 attempts according to the published kill log.

Top Tips

  • Clear Persisting Void immediately. Every pool left standing becomes a Quicksand trap. Superheated Black Hole is a non-negotiable utility slot for this fight.
  • Place Void Beams along walls. You will fire several beams across a long fight. Beam placement in Phase 1 and 2 determines how much safe space you have in Phase 4 and 5, when the arena is smaller and Harbingers are active.
  • Never dodge into Cursing Scythe. Many early-attempt deaths happen by dodging away from a melee swing and directly into the Scythe animation. Learn the tells: Cursing Scythe is a wide sweeping arc; move perpendicular, not backward.
  • Prioritize Harbingers. The boss is immune while they live. Burning large cooldowns into an immune target is wasted output. Swap to the Harbinger immediately, kill it cleanly, return to the boss.
  • Fiery Ground is your Phase 3 anchor. When the quadrants form, move to Fiery Ground first and default to it throughout the phase. Only leave to dodge mechanics and return quickly.
  • Use the DPS benchmark. If normal Aberroth phases in 5 to 10 seconds each, you have adequate damage. If it takes longer, additional gear investment — especially Legendary Potential items from the MG Bazaar — will make the fight more forgiving.

FAQs

How do I access Uber Aberroth in Season 5? Kill all 10 Harbingers in the Empowered Monolith to complete the Forgotten Knights questline. Spend a Harbinger Eye at the Altar of Oblivion in the Shattered Road to fight regular Aberroth. Regular Aberroth always drops the Threshold of Eternity Woven Echo (100% chance). Place the echo in your Echo Web at 500 or higher Corruption to open the Uber Aberroth encounter.

What is the minimum Corruption for Uber Aberroth? The echo requires 500 Corruption to slot. The community recommends having 700-plus Corruption farming running smoothly before your first attempt — players who struggle at 500 Corruption find the Phase 4 compressed attack timers punishing.

What does Uber Aberroth drop? Uber Aberroth exclusively drops Immortal Vise (80% chance) and Shattered Worlds (20% chance). These two Unique items are not available from any other source in the current season. Harbingers that spawn during the Uber fight also drop Harbinger-specific Uniques.

What is the Curse of Aberroth and can I remove it? Curse of Aberroth reduces All Resistances by 10% per stack and cannot be cleansed — it lasts effectively forever once applied. It is inflicted only by the Cursing Scythe ability in Phase 3. A single stack costs you a significant chunk of your resistance cap; multiple stacks make surviving Phase 5's full-heal reset extremely difficult. Treat every Cursing Scythe swing as a kill mechanic and dodge it.

Which builds can kill Uber Aberroth in Season 5? Any build that can comfortably clear 700-plus Corruption Monoliths and learn the mechanics. Season 5 early-clear builds include Time Rot Shield Throw Void Knight, Circle of Fortune Bladedancer, and Lightning Blast Sorcerer. The Maxroll S5 Bossing Tier List uses Uber Aberroth kill time as its benchmark, with S-tier builds phasing in well under a minute.

How many phases does Uber Aberroth have? Uber Aberroth has five phases. Phases 1 through 5 each add mechanics, with Harbingers interrupting in Phase 2 and Phase 4 (boss becomes immune). Phase 5 is Uber-exclusive: the boss heals to full health and the fight continues from full HP. On each phase transition Aberroth takes 90% reduced damage for 4.5 seconds, so do not waste cooldowns during transitions.
