Quick answer (24 October 2026, Patch 2.2.16a, Season 42 "Starward Decade"): the default Lesley build on mlbbhub is Magic Boots, Berserker's Fury, Endless Battle, Blade of Despair, Malefic Gun and Sea Halberd (12,610 gold), with the Marksman emblem (Fatal, Weapon Master, Quantum Charge) and Flicker. She's a B-tier pick on mlbbhub and C-tier on mlbb.io, with a 48.19% ranked win rate and an 8.1% ban rate. Her passive, Lethal Shot, deals True Damage, which is why stacking armor feels useless against her. Raw HP, a body in front of her ultimate, and a hero who can reach her tend to work better. Her last direct balance change was Patch 2.1.67 in April 2026, and neither Season 42 patch changed her kit.

Lesley, the "Deadly Sniper", is having a moment on r/MobileLegendsGame, and not a friendly one. One of today's most-upvoted threads on the sub is a tank player's rant that opens with "I am sorry but this hero is CANCER" (r/MobileLegendsGame, 24 October 2026): "If am tank, il have to build 6 guardian helmets just to die in 5 shots instead of 2." The numbers say she isn't overpowered. The complaint says she feels unbeatable. Both are true, and the reason is one line in her passive. This guide covers the build if you're playing her, and the counters if you're the one getting sniped.

Is Lesley good in Season 42?

She's an average-strength pick that a lot of people ban anyway. Here's where she sits on the two big trackers:

Tracker (24 Oct 2026)TierWin ratePick rateBan rate
mlbbhub (all ranks)B48.19%1.77%8.1%
mlbb.io (all ranks)C (down from B)48.2%1.8%8.2%

Her win rate barely changes by rank on mlbbhub: 47.75% in Epic, 48.28% in Legend, 48.50% in Mythic, 48.13% in Mythical Honor and 48.04% in Mythical Glory+. Her ban rate is a different story. It's 12.71% in Legend, which works out to roughly one in eight drafts, and 10.27% in Epic. mlbb.io's own summary puts it well: "one of the most-picked Gold Laners in Mythical Honor today and still only winning 48%."

The ban rate also has a trend. mlbbhub's daily history has her at 11.77% banned on 10 September, falling to 6.81% by 28 September after the Season 42 patch landed, and back up to 8.1% by 19 October. Players are going back to banning her, even though her win rate hasn't moved off 48%. Our read: she wins about as often as an average marksman, but the games she wins are so one-sided that people remember them.

What changed for Lesley recently?

Not much. Her last direct change was in Patch 2.1.67 (22 April 2026), a stat adjustment that came with Moonton's marksman attribute pass. Base HP went from 2,280 to 2,260 and base Physical Defense from 14 to 15 (Liquipedia, Patch 2.1.67). There's no Lesley line in Patch 2.2.16 or the 2.2.16a hotfix.

She does show up in the Season 42 patch notes once, and the line is worth quoting because it confirms what tank players are complaining about. When Moonton changed the default targeting rule to "Lowest Effective HP", they added this exception (Liquipedia, Patch 2.2.16):

"Since a large portion of Karina, Karrie, Lesley, and Thamuz's damage is True Damage, they will continue to use the "Lowest HP" targeting rule even when "Lowest Effective HP" is selected."

That's Moonton saying, in its own notes, that defense doesn't change who Lesley should shoot first.

How does Lesley's kit work?

Lesley uses Energy instead of mana (100 max). Values below are the skill text as mirrored on Liquipedia and mlbbhub; the level 1 to max ranges are Liquipedia's. One caveat: mlbb.io's copy of her passive lists a smaller flat value and a different crit conversion, and the databases don't all expose every rank value, so the exact numbers may not match your client. Check the in-game skill screen if the numbers matter to you.

  • Passive: Lethal Shot. If Lesley takes no damage for 5 seconds, her next basic attack becomes an enhanced shot with extra range and 50% crit chance that deals True Damage scaling with 100% of her Total Physical Attack. Her physical penetration converts into crit damage, but her base crit damage is lowered. Most importantly, Lethal Shot also activates immediately after she uses a skill.
  • Skill 1: Master of Camouflage. She goes into camouflage for up to 3 seconds, gaining double energy regen, 40% movement speed and 85–110 extra Physical Attack. It ends when she deals or takes damage. Enemies can see her as a distortion in the air. Cooldown 3.5s down to 2.5s, 30 energy.
  • Skill 2: Tactical Grenade. A fan-shaped grenade that deals 150–300 (+50% Total Physical Attack) physical damage, knocks enemies back and hops her backwards. Cooldown 10s down to 7s, 40 energy. If she casts it during her ultimate, it cancels the ultimate and fires one bullet immediately.
  • Ultimate: Ultimate Snipe. Passively adds 10/15/20% crit chance. When cast, she locks onto one enemy hero and fires four bullets, each for 250–350 (+80% Extra Physical Attack) plus 5% of the target's lost HP as physical damage. Other enemy heroes can block the bullets. If she's interrupted, each unfired bullet takes 10% off the cooldown. Base cooldown 40s.

Put the passive and Skill 1 together and you get the real loop. Camouflage is a skill, so casting it primes Lethal Shot straight away. At max skill rank, before any cooldown reduction, that's a True Damage shot roughly every 2.5 seconds, plus up to 110 extra Physical Attack from camouflage on the first hit. The "don't take damage for 5 seconds" condition is the slow way to charge it. Skill 1 is the fast way, and a good Lesley player almost never waits for the slow one.

What is the best Lesley build in Season 42?

mlbbhub publishes three curated Lesley builds. A caveat first: they're labelled for Patch 2.1.67. Lesley hasn't changed since then, but items have, so check the item text in-game before you lock a build in. Item costs are from the mlbbhub item database.

Default burst build

SlotItemCost
1Magic Boots710
2Berserker's Fury2,390
3Endless Battle2,330
4Blade of Despair3,010
5Malefic Gun2,120
6Sea Halberd2,050
Total12,610

mlbbhub's note on this build is that it "turns Lesley's skill-reset Lethal Shot pattern into repeated crit true-damage picks". Magic Boots add cooldown reduction, and Camouflage's cooldown decides how often Lethal Shot comes up. Berserker's Fury and Blade of Despair turn each crit into a chunk of the target's HP bar. Sea Halberd is the flex slot for anti-heal, and the build swaps it for Rose Gold Meteor against magic burst or Immortality when one death would lose the game.

Safe Range Sniper (assassin variant)

SlotItemCost
1Rapid Boots750
2Berserker's Fury2,390
3Blade of the Heptaseas1,950
4Endless Battle2,330
5Malefic Gun2,120
6Blade of Despair3,010
Total12,550

This build runs the Assassin emblem (Rupture, Master Assassin, Quantum Charge). mlbbhub recommends it "when the enemy draft gives Lesley long fog angles and isolated targets". Rapid Boots and Blade of the Heptaseas reward shooting someone who's alone, which is the job Lesley is built for. If your lane is stable, swap Rapid Boots for Magic Boots to get Camouflage back sooner.

Anti-dive build

The third build is for drafts with Saber, Natalia, Helcurt, Chou or other heavy crowd control: Tough Boots, Berserker's Fury, Endless Battle, Blade of Despair, Wind of Nature and Immortality (12,460 gold), with Purify instead of Flicker (it cleanses removable crowd control such as stuns, but not suppression). Tough Boots cut crowd-control duration by 30%. Wind of Nature's active makes you immune to all physical damage for 2 seconds, which shuts down a Saber or Chou combo. If the burst is magic, use Winter Crown instead: it freezes you, making you untargetable and immune to all damage for 2 seconds.

What emblem and battle spell should Lesley use?

Emblem. Two of mlbbhub's three builds run the Marksman emblem with Fatal, Weapon Master and Quantum Charge. Fatal adds crit, and her passive and ultimate already stack crit chance. Quantum Charge gives her movement speed and regen after basic attacks, which helps her get back into fog. The Assassin emblem (Rupture, Master Assassin, Quantum Charge) goes with the pick-off build. Our emblem guide explains every talent.

Battle spell. Flicker is the default in two of the three builds. Lesley's only escape is a short grenade hop, so Flicker is her real escape. Take Purify into drafts where a single stun or other removable crowd control means you die before you can act. Purify doesn't remove suppression, so against suppression your answer is positioning and Flicker. For a breakdown of every spell, see the battle spells guide.

How do you play Lesley?

The combo. Camouflage → basic attack (Lethal Shot) → Camouflage again as soon as it's off cooldown → basic attack. Use the grenade for the knockback when someone reaches you, not for damage. Save the ultimate for finishing someone. The bullets get stronger the more HP the target has lost, and they deal physical damage, so the ultimate is weakest against a full-HP tank and strongest against a fleeing carry on 30% HP.

Early game. This is where Lesley is weakest. In mlbbhub's matchup data, Lesley wins only about a third of short games against Gloo, rising to about 46% in long ones. She clears waves slowly, so farm safely, don't contest the first Turtle without your jungler, and try to have Berserker's Fury before you start forcing fights.

Mid and late game. Stand behind your frontline and shoot whoever is closest and squishiest. Before you ult, check that no enemy tank can step in front of the target, because the bullets hit the first enemy hero in the way. Ulting through a Tigreal is a wasted 40 seconds.

Best teammates. Moonton's own ally note (as mirrored on mlbbhub) names Lolita, whose shield protects her, and Akai, whose knockback keeps divers away. mlbb.io's synergy data puts Popol and Kupa (+3.9) and Roger (+2.2) on top. Lesley needs someone in front of her.

How do you counter Lesley?

This is the half of the article most of today's Reddit thread wanted. Start with the data, then the items.

Lesley's counters (win-rate edge against her in percentage points, as each site reports it):

Countermlbbhubmlbb.io
Gloo+3.2+3.1
Estes+2.8+2.5
Sun+2.3+2.7
Popol and Kupa+2.2+0.5
Melissa+2.1—
Tigreal—+2.3
Masha—+2.1

Gloo, Estes and Sun are on both lists. What they have in common is that they don't let Lesley pick a clean target. Gloo sticks to her. Estes' healing undoes a lot of single-target burst. Sun floods the fight with clones. A Lesley player in today's thread listed the same weaknesses from their own side: traps (Selena, Popol), large AoE (most mages), vision-exposing skills, and being "overwhelmed via summons (Sun, Gloo, Zhask)." If you're facing her, our Sun build guide covers the hero who's on both counter lists right now.

Moonton's official hero notes (as mirrored on mlbbhub) name assassins. The counter note says she "is countered by Assassin heroes with multiple movement abilities, which will cause her to lose her range advantage. Such as Ling and Lancelot," and its matchup card names Saber. A comment in the same thread suggested "saber roam with flicker and conceal" and said Lesley "wont be able to play the game."

Who Lesley beats: Claude +3.8, Marcel +3.5, Belerick +3.1, Bruno +3.1 and Gatotkaca +3.0 on mlbbhub, with mlbb.io agreeing on the same five. Moonton's own note explains the tank results: she's strong against "tank heroes who rely heavily on equipment," because "her attacks can deal True Damage that will ignore the defense." Two of the heroes she beats are tanks, and two of the heroes that beat her are tanks too. In this data, the tanks that do well against her tend to be the ones that stop her shooting or protect their carries, not the ones relying on armor.

Which items actually work against Lesley?

The Reddit rant has a point about armor stacking, and here's why. Lethal Shot's bonus is True Damage, and True Damage ignores defense. Her ultimate and grenade are physical, so armor still helps against those, but her biggest hits come from the passive.

  • Raw HP over defense. Defense does nothing to True Damage, so a bigger HP bar is the main stat that helps against Lethal Shot. That's the trade the thread's poster describes: six HP helmets turn a two-shot into a five-shot. Crit reduction, damage immunity and denying her shots (below) are the other levers.
  • Blade Armor (1,910 gold). It has a unique 20% Critical Damage Reduction attribute, and Lethal Shot is a crit-heavy basic attack. Exactly how that reduction applies to a True Damage crit isn't documented in the item text, so treat it as a likely help, not a guarantee. Its passive also reflects damage and slows the attacker whenever you're hit by a basic attack.
  • Winter Crown (1,910 gold). The freeze makes you immune to all damage for 2 seconds. Use it the moment the ultimate's lock-on starts, and most of the four bullets hit nothing.
  • Wind of Nature (1,910 gold, marksmen). It makes you immune to physical damage for 2 seconds (1 second on non-marksmen), which covers her ultimate and grenade. Lethal Shot's bonus is True Damage, so don't count on it against that.
  • Antique Cuirass is weak here. Its Deter passive only triggers "when hit by a skill" (Liquipedia), and most of Lesley's damage comes from basic attacks.

Counterplay that doesn't need a draft pick

  • Body-block the ultimate. Bullets stop on the first enemy hero in the way. If you're the tank, step between Lesley and your carry the moment the lock-on starts.
  • Interrupt it. Any crowd control during the ultimate cancels the remaining bullets. She gets 10% of the cooldown back per unfired bullet, but she loses the kill.
  • Hit her before she's in camouflage. Taking damage breaks camouflage, and stealth-exposing skills or AoE in her usual bushes take away her angle.
  • Go for her early. She has 2,260 base HP and one short grenade hop for an escape. Gank gold lane before her second item and she has nothing to fall back on. As one commenter in today's thread put it: "She clears waves slowly, can't solo defend a lord, is only single target, so exploit weakness."
  • Split push. Lesley is a single-target sniper with no hard wave clear, so pressure in two lanes at once forces her to choose. For the gold-lane picks that bully her early, see our best gold lane heroes for Season 42.

FAQ

Is Lesley good in MLBB Season 42? She's B-tier on mlbbhub and C-tier on mlbb.io for Patch 2.2.16a, with a win rate of about 48.2% and a ban rate of about 8% on both. That's an average marksman, but she's banned a lot more than her win rate suggests, reaching 12.71% of Legend drafts on mlbbhub.

What is the best build for Lesley? mlbbhub's default build is Magic Boots, Berserker's Fury, Endless Battle, Blade of Despair, Malefic Gun and Sea Halberd, for 12,610 gold, with the Marksman emblem (Fatal, Weapon Master, Quantum Charge) and Flicker. Against heavy dive, use Tough Boots, Wind of Nature and Immortality with Purify instead.

Why does Lesley do so much damage to tanks? Her passive, Lethal Shot, adds True Damage scaling with 100% of her Total Physical Attack, and True Damage ignores defense. It also resets whenever she uses a skill, so with Camouflage on a 2.5-second cooldown she can fire one every few seconds. Moonton's Patch 2.2.16 notes confirm that "a large portion" of her damage is True Damage.

Who counters Lesley? Gloo, Estes and Sun have an edge on both mlbbhub and mlbb.io. Moonton's official notes name dive assassins like Ling, Lancelot and Saber. Tanks that body-block her ultimate also give her trouble. Tanks that rely on armor, like Gatotkaca and Belerick, tend to lose to her.

What item counters Lesley? Raw HP is the main one, and Blade Armor's 20% crit damage reduction is likely to help against her crits. Winter Crown's freeze can dodge her ultimate. Antique Cuirass is a poor choice, because its passive only triggers when you're hit by a skill and most of her damage comes from basic attacks.

Did Lesley get nerfed in Season 42? No. Patch 2.2.16 and 2.2.16a didn't change her kit. Her last change was Patch 2.1.67 in April 2026, which moved her base HP from 2,280 to 2,260 and her Physical Defense from 14 to 15. The only Season 42 mention is the targeting-rule note quoted above.

Stats checked on 24 October 2026 against mlbbhub (Patch 2.2.16a; its daily history runs to 19 October 2026), mlbb.io (data updated 24 October 2026) and Liquipedia's patch archive. The Advance Server is testing Patch 2.2.26, and nothing from it is live on the Original Server.
