Quick answer: The Y11S3.2 mid-season update went live on October 15, 2026. Noor gets the big buff (Horus Lance impact damage 50 → 80, drilling time 2s → 1.5s, Guardbreak 30% → 100%, equip time 0.9s → 0.4s). Tachanka's Shumikha Launcher gets an impact-trigger fire mode, Solid Snake loses one Soliton Radar precision charge (4 → 3), Valkyrie gets the Glaive-12 secondary, and all fire damage rises 12 → 14 HP. Ranked swaps out Skyscraper and Theme Park for Kanal, Outback and Oregon, and the Champion-only Legend Division opens.

Ubisoft published the Y11S3.2 Patch Notes on October 13, 2026, and the update shipped on October 15 alongside the Designer's Notes and Ubisoft's mid-season press release. It is the second balancing pass of Year 11 Season 3, Operation Split Fire, after the smaller Y11S3.1 refinement patch on September 22.

This guide goes through every change, gives you the before and after numbers, and explains what each one does to your ranked games. Everything here applies to Y11S3, from October 15, 2026 until the next patch.

Three changes matter most for ranked: the Noor buff, the Tachanka impact mode and the fire damage increase. The Snake nerf is smaller than the community hoped. The sections below go through each one.

How much stronger is Noor after the Y11S3.2 buff?

A lot stronger. Noor launched on September 1 as the shield-counter defender, and most of the community felt he was too slow and too weak. Ubisoft agreed in the Designer's Notes:

"Noor's ability felt a bit short on multiple fronts, so it is receiving some follow-up changes in order to double down on his shield countering capabilities as well as his survivability." — Ubisoft, Designer's Notes: Y11S3 Mid-Season Update

All six Horus Lance changes push in one direction: punish shield operators faster and let Noor take less risk while he does it.

  • 80 impact damage (from 50). A direct hit on an unshielded operator now takes a big chunk of their health. This is impact damage on the operator. A lance stuck in a shield does not deal 80 to the shield holder, a detail one r/R6ProLeague commenter pointed out early.
  • 100% Guardbreak (from 30%). A lance that hits a ballistic shield now fully breaks the shield guard. Montagne, Blitz and Blackbeard players lose their cover the moment a lance lands.
  • 1.5s drilling (from 2s). The lance burrows and ignites faster on ballistic shields, soft surfaces and non-destructible surfaces, so the attacker has less time to react before the fire starts.
  • 0.4s Quickdraw equip (from 0.9s). Noor can pull the launcher out more than twice as fast, which makes reactive shots possible instead of pre-aimed ones.
  • Damage during the removal animation. Shield operators now take damage while they pull the lance out, so removing it is no longer a free reset.
  • Hitbox improvements. Ubisoft also fixed a bug where the projectile hitbox was too large, so the lance is more consistent but not more forgiving.

What it does not change: the patch says "solid surfaces (non-destructible surfaces)." It does not say the lance now goes through reinforced walls. Do not plan a setup around that.

Our read: Noor goes from a niche pick to a real option on any site where attackers like to push a shield through a single doorway or stairwell. If your team expects a shield-heavy attack, he is now worth a ban slot. For the full kit, loadout and setups, see our Noor guide for Y11S3.

What does Tachanka's new Shumikha impact mode do?

Before Y11S3.2 the Shumikha Launcher only fired bouncing incendiary grenades. That was good for denial from cover but awkward whenever you needed fire on an exact spot right away. The patch adds a second firing mode that sets the grenade off on impact, and you can switch between the two.

Ubisoft's stated goal was to make him easier to use without taking away what he already did well: "Introducing an impact-triggered mode allows Tachanka to respond more effectively in precise or time-sensitive scenarios," while "retaining the bouncing behavior preserves his ability to set up layered denial."

Add the fire damage buff (12 → 14 HP) and Tachanka becomes a better shield counter than many players expected. One of the replies in the official r/Rainbow6 patch thread made exactly that case. Because he has more grenades and doesn't need precise aim, some players think he now counters shields better than Noor does. Players have also pointed out that you can fire at a doorframe or ceiling above the target, so you never have to expose yourself to the shield's support player.

Where to use it: chokepoint sites where attackers have to cross one entry, such as stairwells, hatches and narrow hallways. The impact mode lets you deny the plant spot late in the round instead of guessing a bounce.

Is Solid Snake still overpowered after the nerf?

Solid Snake holding the Soliton Radar Mk III showing a map of nearby hostiles — Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege

Mostly, yes. The only change is that the Soliton Radar Mk III loses one precision mode charge (4 → 3). Ubisoft framed it as a light touch: "We want to slightly reduce Snake's overall utility to encourage more deliberate usage and clearer prioritization of targets."

Players were not impressed. One widely shared reaction in the official r/Rainbow6 thread said Snake "has just gone from being incredibly op to being incredibly op." Several players argued the radar's real problem is how much information it gives per scan, not how many scans it has.

What this means for you: Snake is still one of the strongest attackers in Y11S3 and still a top ban when you defend. Losing a charge means a good Snake has to save his precision scans for the clutch and the final push. Defenders who play vertically above him on multi-floor maps will make him waste them faster. Our ban guide for Y11S3 still has him near the top of the attacker ban list.

What are the smaller Y11S3.2 refinement changes?

Ubisoft calls these refinement changes: "small adjustments that don't aim to alter an Operator's overall power level or flexibility." Some of them still matter:

  • Valkyrie gets the Glaive-12. Ubisoft added it so she can "create lines of sight more quickly and from further," which helps her set up Black Eye cameras after opening a rotate or peek hole.
  • Capitão's Fire Bolt expands faster, with the gap between expansions cut from 1s to 0.9s.
  • Clash's CCE Shield MK2 now slows retreating enemies by 10%, up from 5%. Running away from her is now riskier.
  • Osa's Talon-8 Clear Shield has fewer deployment restrictions. Ubisoft's press release lists the frontal value going from 1.1 to 0.35, vertical from 6.25 to 0.6 and behind from 0.3 to 0.005, so it fits in many more spots.
  • Fire does 14 HP (up from 12). This covers fire from Capitão, Dokkaebi, Goyo, Noor, Tachanka and gas pipes. Standing in or walking through fire now costs more.
  • Barbed Wire stops Ram's BU-GIs. A BU-GI that rolls into wire gets tangled, stops and self-destructs. Wire placed on Ram's likely path is now a real counter, not just a speed bump.

Which bugs did Y11S3.2 fix?

The notes list a few gameplay and quality-of-life fixes:

  • Defenders no longer lose points for destroying their own Barbed Wire.
  • The Horus Lance hitbox is no longer oversized.
  • The launcher reticle now follows the Reticle Opacity setting.
  • Osa's shield button no longer flips from ON to OFF when deployed.
  • The voice chat indicator no longer disappears at random.

What changed in ranked with the mid-season update?

The patch also changed ranked in three ways.

1. Legend Division is live. Ubisoft's press release calls Legend Division a solo-queue competitive playlist above Champion, "designed for the top 1% of players." It opened with the October 15 update. Its map pool matches the Pro League pool. The top players earn a profile banner that changes with leaderboard position, and the top 100 per region get an exclusive charm. To queue it you need all of the following:

  • Secure Boot enabled and a 2FA app enabled
  • Champion reached in the current season
  • Clearance level 200 or higher
  • Platinum or above last season
  • Reputation Standing of Level 3 or better

The press release says the Legend Division season runs until December 1. Ubisoft also launched a ban wave on more than 50,000 accounts before the launch, targeting account sharers, sellers and ban evaders.

2. The ranked map rotation changed. Skyscraper and Theme Park leave the ranked pool, and Kanal, Outback and Oregon join. Ubisoft calls this the final ranked map rotation of Year 11. If Oregon is rusty for you, our Oregon callouts guide covers all four bomb sites after the Y11S1 rework.

3. Rotations become more stable from Y11S4. Ubisoft admitted the rotation system "hasn't resonated with players as well as expected." From Y11S4, ranked moves to a more stable map selection from season to season.

How does Y11S3.2 compare with the Y11S3.1 patch?

The Y11S3.1 patch notes from September 22 were all small refinements plus a long list of Noor bug fixes:

Y11S3.1 change (September 22)BeforeAfter
Thermite Exothermic Charge damage200 HP220 HP
Sledge Breaching Hammer swing time1s0.8s
Buck Skeleton Key total ammo3136
Castle Armor Panel melee hits to destroy910
Fenrir Dread Mine gas to max range2s1.9s
Maestro Evil Eye battery8s9s
M1014 damage28 HP30 HP
SPAS-15 damage24 HP26 HP

Taken together, the two patches lean toward utility and breaching: Thermite and Sledge got faster or deadlier, defenders got more fire and wire tools, and the two shield counters (Noor and Tachanka) got much better. The launch-day Y11S3 changes still apply, including the SMG-12 nerf, Dokkaebi's Jegeo Payload change and Kali's buff.

How should you adapt your picks after Y11S3.2?

Here is how we would adjust picks and bans in ranked right now.

  • Defending against shield-heavy teams: pick Noor or Tachanka. Both now counter shields outright instead of just slowing them down.
  • Attacking: don't build your execute around a lone shield in a single choke without utility. Drone the angle and bring flashes or smokes to cover the push, or take a different route.
  • Running Ram: drone for Barbed Wire before you roll BU-GIs down a hallway.
  • Defending against Snake: you can still ban him. If he's allowed, play vertical and make him spend his three precision charges early.
  • Picking Valkyrie: take the Glaive-12 if you like opening your own camera angles.
  • Fire users: Goyo, Capitão and Tachanka gain the most from the 14 HP fire change.
