WARDOGS Season 2 went live today — Update 0.2.0, deployed after a maintenance window on 15 October 2026 (BULKHEAD: "WARDOGS Season 02 is now LIVE. We have now released Update 0.2.0. Servers are back online."). The season reset did exactly what BULKHEAD said it would: it wiped Cash and XP and auto-converted your banked Cash into Gold Bars. But it also did something the patch notes never mentioned — it dropped a lot of returning, high-level players straight back into the new-player tutorial. If you logged in, saw the training flow, and thought "I was level 147 yesterday, why am I here again," you are not alone, and yes, you can get out of it fast.
Quick answer: WARDOGS Season 2 reset your Cash and progression, so the game treats you as a fresh account and re-queues the onboarding tutorial. You do not have to complete it. Players report you can skip it by pressing Esc, waiting about 30 seconds, then leaving the session / choosing skip — the same method that worked at the Season 1 reset. There is no official "skip tutorial" button documented in the Season 2 patch notes, so treat the method as a community workaround, not a guaranteed BULKHEAD feature.
This guide covers exactly what the reset changed, why the tutorial came back, how players are skipping it right now, and the one thing you should check before you spend your first dollar of Season 2 Cash. Everything here is pinned to the 15 October 2026 Season 2 launch (Update 0.2.0); numbers and mechanics are current for that build.

Why am I doing the tutorial again in WARDOGS Season 2?
Because a season reset in WARDOGS is a progression wipe, and the onboarding flow keys off progression. BULKHEAD confirmed the reset mechanic months before launch, in the Early Access & Beyond devlog (7 April 2026):
"At the end of a season, your cash and XP progression will reset with your cash auto converted into gold bars… Your gold bars and cosmetics from a season will stay permanently on your account across seasons."
So when Season 2 flipped over on 15 October, the game zeroed your level and your Cash. From the client's point of view you now look like a brand-new WARDOG with no career level — and the first-time user experience fires again. That is the part nobody warned about: the patch notes list new weapons, new vehicles, rain and a dozen balance changes, but there is no line in the Season 2 patch notes about a forced tutorial. It is a side-effect of the wipe, which is why so many returning players hit it by surprise this morning.
A few things worth being clear on, because the reset is generating its own myths on day one:
- Your account is not gone. The login screen still shows your previous season — one player noted the game "knows I was level 147 and shows me my previous season at login." Your history is intact; only the live-season Cash and XP were reset.
- Your Gold Bars and cosmetics survived. Those carry across seasons permanently. Only Cash and XP depreciated. (See our guide on whether Gold Bars and cosmetics carry over to Season 2.)
- The tutorial does not re-teach you anything you don't know. It exists to catch genuine new players arriving on the back of Season 2's press. For a returning player it is pure friction, which is why skipping it is the right call.
How to skip the tutorial after the WARDOGS reset
There is no documented skip button in Update 0.2.0, but returning players report a reliable workaround — and it is the same one that worked when Season 1 started. From the live r/WarDogs threads this morning, players describe it like this:
- Enter the tutorial session (you will be dropped into it automatically after the reset).
- Press Esc to open the pause / session menu.
- Wait roughly 30 seconds. Several players stress the wait — the leave/skip option does not register immediately.
- Choose to leave the session / skip, then back out to the main deploy screen.
One player summarised it as "Press esc, wait 30 secs and leave the session. Worked in season 1 at least," and others on the same thread confirmed "You can skip it" and "Esc, wait 30 sec then skip." Attribute this as a player-reported method, not an official one — BULKHEAD has not published a tutorial-skip instruction for Season 2, and session behaviour can change in a hotfix during launch week. If the 30-second wait doesn't surface the option on your first try, back out fully to the main menu and re-enter; the deploy screen is where you want to end up.
Once you are out, you are a normal Season 2 player: open the server browser, pick a server (expect queues on day one — more on that below), and deploy straight into the one mode, the three-team Control Zone.
What actually reset in Season 2 — and what to do first
Skipping the tutorial is step one. Step two is understanding you are starting the economy from scratch, because that changes what you should do in your first hour back.
Cash is back to the one-time grant. Every WARDOG account starts each season with $10,000 Cash — a single account grant, not $10,000 per life. Cash persists match to match within the season; it does not top up when you die. Spend the $10,000 deliberately. (If you've seen the "$10,000 every life" claim, it is wrong — Cash carries over between matches on your account.)
Your level is gone, so your unlock gates are gone too. In WARDOGS an item needs two things to use: a level on the relevant track (which makes it available to buy) and enough Cash (its per-life vendor price). The reset took your levels, so the big-ticket unlocks you had in Season 1 are locked again until you re-level. This is the real sting of the wipe for veterans, and it maps directly onto why players grind: the fast way back is efficient XP farming, not Cash.
Earn pays through teamplay, not just kills. The quickest way to rebuild both Cash and level is to play the objective. BULKHEAD, verbatim on the store page: "Every teamplay action you perform rewards cash. From reviving squadmates, transporting friendlies to the zone, or controlling the objective." The shifting Hot Zone inside the Control Zone pays double Cash and counts double toward control — it is the single highest-value square on the map. Prioritise it.
Check the Lonestar bonus before you pick a team. Season 2 is running the blue-team (Lonestar) underdog experiment — a cash-and-XP win bonus and earn multipliers for the historically weaker faction. It is controversial on the subreddit today, but if it is active on your server it is a legitimate way to re-level faster. We broke down what to do on Season 2 Day 1, including the Lonestar bonus, separately.
A fast first-hour plan after the reset
- Skip the tutorial (Esc → wait ~30s → leave/skip).
- Don't blow the $10,000 immediately. Buy a workable loadout, keep a buffer.
- Play the Hot Zone for double Cash and faster XP.
- Revive, build and transport teammates — these pay more reliably than hunting kills.
- Re-check your track levels before trying to buy anything expensive; the gate is XP, the price is Cash.
For the efficient route back to your old power level, see our fastest way to level up in Season 2 breakdown — the XP curve is deliberately steep from level 10–20, so where you spend your first few hours matters.
Why is every WARDOGS server full right now? Day-one queues and ping limits
Skipping the tutorial won't help if you can't get into a server. Two launch-day issues are worth knowing about:
- Full servers and queues. With a large returning population hitting Season 2 at once — WARDOGS was reading roughly 135,000 concurrent players on a live Steam check on 15 October 2026 (the count moves hourly, so re-check before you blame your connection) — busy regions are reporting full official servers and queues. This is normal launch-day capacity pressure, not a reset bug. Use the server browser's new maximum ping tags and filters (added in Update 0.2.0) to find a reachable server.
- New region-based ping limits. Update 0.2.0 introduced region-based maximum ping on official servers "to improve network reliability and ensure a fairer experience for everyone." BULKHEAD notes the "initial values will be quite lenient as we hone in on appropriate values," and that players kicked for high ping "will be unable to rejoin the same server until the next map transition." If you're bouncing off a server, your ping to its region may be the cause — filter for a closer one. (Short latency spikes are excluded from the measurement, so a single lag spike shouldn't kick you.)
Neither of these is a reason to panic-refund. The Season 1 launch review bomb was largely a capacity issue that eased within about 48 hours of a server hotfix; Season 2's opening-hour congestion is the same shape.

Will the tutorial come back next season?
Almost certainly, in the same way. BULKHEAD has committed to a seasonal reset model — "each season we will have a different XP curve with different item orders" — so every season start wipes Cash and XP, and the onboarding flow will re-fire for the same reason it did today. Until BULKHEAD ships a dedicated "skip tutorial for returning players" option, expect to run the Esc → wait → leave workaround at the start of each new season. If that changes in a Season 2 hotfix, we'll update this guide.
Rebuild your Season 2 progression the fast way
Getting out of the tutorial is thirty seconds. Climbing back to the level and loadout you had in Season 1 is the real grind — the XP curve is steep by design, and the big-ticket unlocks sit a long way up each track. If you'd rather spend your launch week playing the new content than re-grinding the ladder, our WARDOGS services can do the heavy lifting:
Starting Season 2 from zero and want your power back fast? These are demand-ranked for the post-reset grind:
- WARDOGS Cash — rebuild your spendable balance so you can kit out a proper loadout from match one, instead of nursing the $10,000 grant.
- WARDOGS Career Leveling — push your WARDOG career level back up to re-open the big Career-track gates (parachute, backpack, AP ammo, Artillery Tank).
- WARDOGS Class Leveling — level a specific track (Medic, Support, Driver, Pilot, Recon) to re-unlock the vehicles and gear tied to it.
- WARDOGS Rent a Pro — play alongside a strong squadmate to win rounds and bank XP and Cash faster while you re-learn the Season 2 meta.
All WARDOGS services are at the WARDOGS hub.
Heads-up on account safety: the WARDOGS EULA (updated 10 September 2026) restricts account sharing and transfer, so we never ask for anything that puts your account at risk. We only describe our own service handling and guarantee — we make no claim about what BULKHEAD does or does not permit.
FAQ
Do you have to do the tutorial again in WARDOGS Season 2? The game re-queues the onboarding tutorial for most players after the Season 2 reset, because the wipe zeroes your level and Cash and the client treats you like a fresh account. You do not have to complete it — players report you can skip it (Esc, wait about 30 seconds, then leave the session), the same method that worked at the Season 1 reset.
How do I skip the WARDOGS tutorial after the reset? Enter the tutorial session, press Esc to open the menu, wait roughly 30 seconds for the leave/skip option to register, then choose to leave the session and back out to the deploy screen. This is a community-reported workaround — there is no documented skip button in the Season 2 (Update 0.2.0) patch notes, so it may change in a hotfix.
What reset when WARDOGS Season 2 started? Your Cash and XP progression reset, and your banked Cash auto-converted into Gold Bars. Your Gold Bars and cosmetics carry over permanently. You start Season 2 with the usual one-time $10,000 Cash grant and no track levels, so your old unlock gates are locked again until you re-level.
Did I lose my Season 1 level and cosmetics? You lost your Season 1 level and Cash — those are season-scoped and reset. Cosmetics and Gold Bars are permanent and survived the wipe. The login screen still shows your previous season, so your account and history are intact.
Why is every server full in WARDOGS right now? A large returning population hit Season 2 at launch (around 135,000 concurrent players on a live Steam check on 15 October 2026), so official servers in busy regions are queuing. Update 0.2.0 also added region-based ping limits and server-browser maximum-ping tags and filters — use the filters to find a server you can actually connect to.
Is the forced tutorial a bug? No. It is a side-effect of the season reset wiping your progression, not something listed in the patch notes and not a malfunction. Expect it at the start of every new season until BULKHEAD adds a dedicated returning-player skip.
