WoW Labyrinths (12.1.5): How the Kindo'jan Mega-Delve Works, Its Rewards & Is a Boost Worth It

Quick answer: Labyrinths are a new, much larger form of Delve content coming in WoW: Midnight Patch 12.1.5 — the community is already calling them "mega-delves." The first one is the Labyrinth of Kindo'jan, an ancient Amani funeral complex, and your companion is Valeera Sanguinar — the same guide who runs your Season 2 Delves, so her level, curios and poisons carry straight over. The biggest difference from a normal Delve is scale and pacing: a Labyrinth is a nine-Chamber run on a Tier 1–11 ladder that you can clear in one long session or chip away at across the week and resume where you left off. It has its own separate progression, unlocks, and scaling rewards, and current PTR data shows that clearing the final boss in a Tier 8 or higher Labyrinth grants Great Vault credit once per week per character. Patch 12.1.5 is on the PTR as of September 3, 2026 with no live date announced yet — community estimates point to early-to-mid October 2026. Everything below is confirmed from the PTR reveal; reward quantities can still change before launch.

If you already grind Season 2 Bountiful Delves for your weekly gear, Labyrinths are the next step up in that same solo-friendly lane — bigger, longer, and with their own reward track. Here's exactly how the Kindo'jan Labyrinth works, what it drops, how it compares to a standard Delve, and whether paying for a carry actually makes sense once it goes live.

What are Labyrinths in WoW Midnight?

Labyrinths are a large-scale evolution of the Delve system — Blizzard's solo-and-small-group endgame pillar from The War Within and Midnight. Where a standard Delve is a short, self-contained run of a few minutes, a Labyrinth is a sprawling, mega-dungeon-inspired environment with multiple connected Chambers and a final boss at the end. The reveal describes the first Labyrinth as a nine-Chamber run on the familiar Delve Tier 1–11 difficulty ladder, pushed through chunk by chunk.

According to the September 3 reveal, Labyrinths keep the core Delve DNA (Overgear 12.1.5 overview; corroborated on Warcraft Wiki):

  • They support flexible solo and group play — run it alone or bring friends.
  • Exploration is a real part of the activity, not a straight corridor.
  • You adventure with a companion the whole way.
  • They have their own progression systems and unlocks, separate from Delves.
  • Rewards increase the further and higher you push.

The single most important thing to understand: a Labyrinth is persistent. You are not forced to clear it in one sitting. You can complete part of it, log off, and pick up where you left off later in the week — a big departure from the "one run, one reset" feel of a normal Delve. That makes it far friendlier to players who only get an hour of play at a time.

Labyrinths vs Delves: what's actually different?

This is the question every returning player is asking, so here's the clean breakdown of Labyrinths against the Bountiful Delves you already run:

Standard Delve (Season 2)Labyrinth (12.1.5)
SizeSmall, single environmentLarge, multi-Chamber "mega-delve" (nine Chambers)
LengthA few minutesA long single session or across the week
PersistenceOne run, then resetPersistent — resume where you left off
DifficultyDelve tiersTier 1–11 ladder
CompanionValeera SanguinarValeera Sanguinar (same level/curios/poisons)
ProgressionDelve tiers + Restored Coffer KeysIts own separate progression & unlocks
Vault creditBountiful Delves feed the VaultTier 8+ boss = Vault credit (per PTR)
Final bossNo fixed named bossKindo'jan (Labyrinth of Kindo'jan)

The companion detail most players get wrong: it's still Valeera Sanguinar — the same guide who runs your Midnight Delves, not Brann Bronzebeard (Brann was the War Within companion). That's actually good news, because everything you've already invested in Valeera this season — her curio ranks, poison unlocks, and level — carries straight into Labyrinths (Overgear 12.1.5 overview). So the single best pre-patch prep is to keep leveling her now; a maxed Valeera means you can push higher Labyrinth Tiers on day one.

What is the Labyrinth of Kindo'jan?

The Labyrinth of Kindo'jan is the first Labyrinth Blizzard is shipping in 12.1.5 — an ancient Amani funeral complex that has stayed sealed for centuries and has only just been reopened, drawing treasure hunters and Vilebranch trolls into its depths. It's tied into the new The Promise of Tomorrow campaign, which continues the Quel'Thalas and Zul'Aman storyline after Ula'tek's defeat. You explore its coiled halls with Valeera at your side and push toward the final encounter against Kindo'jan himself.

Because it's story-connected, expect it to slot in alongside the patch's other headline additions — the single-boss raid The Unbinding of Kith'ix (fought beside Lady Liadrin against a freed C'Thraxxi general beneath the Coiled Isle), the hourly Aqir Invasions, and the Ascendant Venomstone gear-upgrade layer. What rewards do Labyrinths drop?

A WoW Midnight Delve reward room stacked with coffers and loot chests — Labyrinths use the same scaling-reward machinery, one tier up

Rewards are still being tuned on the PTR, so treat exact numbers as provisional — but the structure is confirmed and it's what matters for planning:

  • Scaling gear. Like Delves, the loot improves the deeper and higher-tier you push. Labyrinths sit in the same solo-gearing lane as Bountiful Delves, giving another route to raise item level outside of raid and Mythic+.
  • Great Vault credit. Current PTR data shows that defeating the final boss in a Tier 8 or higher Labyrinth grants Vault credit — once per week, per character (BuyBoost Kindo'jan notes). That folds Labyrinths straight into your weekly Great Vault routine.
  • Its own progression & unlocks. Separate from Delve tiers and Restored Coffer Keys, Labyrinths carry a dedicated track of unlocks that gate how far you can push.
  • Cosmetics and collectibles. Achievements, mounts and other reward-pool items are still being finalized during PTR testing, so the full cosmetic list isn't locked yet.

Three numbers to anchor on before launch:

  • Tier 8 — the confirmed Labyrinth difficulty threshold that starts granting weekly Vault credit (the ladder runs Tier 1 to Tier 11).
  • 1 per week, per character — how often that Vault credit lands, so it's a weekly checkbox, not a farm.
  • Nine Chambers — the size of the first Labyrinth, so budget a proper chunk of time (or split it across sessions) rather than a quick 5-minute Delve.

How to prepare for Labyrinths right now

You can't run Labyrinths on live servers yet, but you can stack the deck before 12.1.5 drops so you clear high tiers on day one instead of week three:

  • Keep leveling Valeera. Her curio ranks, poison unlocks and level carry from your Season 2 Delves straight into Labyrinths, so every Delve you run now is Labyrinth prep. A maxed companion is what lets you start on a higher, safer Tier day one — this is the single most valuable thing to do before the patch.
  • Push your item level now. Higher gear means you start Labyrinths at a higher Tier. Our Week 1 PvE gearing route and Season 2 crest farming get you there.
  • Bank your weekly Vault slots. Labyrinths are meant to feed the Great Vault — knowing your slot targets now means no wasted weeks after the patch.
  • Keep consumables and repairs topped up. A nine-Chamber run is longer than a Delve; carry flasks, food and enough bag space, and repair before you enter.

Is a Labyrinth boost worth it?

Straight answer: for time-poor players chasing the weekly Vault slot and a fast item-level bump, yes — for the "I want to learn every room myself" crowd, no.

A Labyrinth carry makes sense when:

  • You want the Tier 8+ Vault credit every week but don't have the hours (or the gear yet) to clear it solo at that difficulty.
  • You're gearing an alt and just want the loot, not the practice.
  • You're returning mid-season and behind on item level, so pugging high tiers is a wall.

It's not worth it if you enjoy the Delve-style solo push for its own sake, or if you're happy clearing low tiers casually — the reward scaling means low-tier self-clears are perfectly fine for relaxed play. If you do want it handled, the same team that runs our Delve boosts and Season 2 gear carries will cover Labyrinths once 12.1.5 is live.

FAQ

What are Labyrinths in WoW Midnight? Labyrinths are a new, large-scale form of Delve content — nicknamed "mega-delves" — arriving in Patch 12.1.5. They're nine-Chamber, exploration-heavy runs on a Tier 1–11 ladder with a final boss, their own progression and rewards, and a persistent structure so you can clear them across multiple sessions instead of in one go.

When do Labyrinths and Patch 12.1.5 release? Blizzard has not announced a live date. Patch 12.1.5 entered PTR testing on September 3, 2026, and the community estimate is early-to-mid October 2026. Until Blizzard posts a date, plan your prep, not a calendar.

What is the Labyrinth of Kindo'jan? It's the first Labyrinth in 12.1.5, tied to the new Promise of Tomorrow campaign. Its final boss is Kindo'jan, and your companion throughout is Valeera Sanguinar.

How are Labyrinths different from Delves? They're much larger and longer (nine Chambers vs a single short Delve), they're persistent so you resume where you left off, and they run on their own progression and reward track separate from Delve tiers and Restored Coffer Keys. The companion is still Valeera Sanguinar — the same guide who runs your Midnight Delves, not Brann.

Do Labyrinths give Great Vault loot? Per current PTR data, clearing the final boss in a Tier 8 or higher Labyrinth grants Great Vault credit once per week per character. Exact reward quantities may still change before release.

Can I prepare for Labyrinths before the patch? Yes. Keep leveling Valeera Sanguinar in your Season 2 Delves (her curio ranks, poisons and level carry into Labyrinths), push your item level, and line up your weekly Vault targets so you can clear high Tiers on day one.
