Description
Hero proficiency is the per-hero mastery track in Marvel Rivals, running from level 1 to level 70 across 11 named ranks. This service moves the hero you pick through the proficiency range you set on the configurator, from level 1 up to the level 70 cap, on PlayStation, Xbox or PC.
What hero proficiency is in Marvel Rivals
Hero proficiency is a per-hero progression track that caps at level 70 and is entirely separate from your account level and your competitive rank. Every hero carries its own bar, so hours on Magik do nothing for Groot. NetEase overhauled the system in Season 6 (January 2026), raising the ceiling and rebuilding the reward list around avatars, nameplate frames, KO prompts, titles, badges and medals.
Two checkpoints carry the social weight: Lord at level 20 and Champion at level 70. Both are visible in the pre-match lineup and on your player card, which is why they are the two milestones people actually ask for. Everything below Lord reads as ordinary play; Champion is the ceiling, and there is nothing above it on that hero.
The 11 proficiency ranks from Agent to Champion
Marvel Rivals divides the 70-level track into 11 ranks, roughly one every five levels, with Lord landing at level 20 and Champion sitting at the level 70 cap. The table below is the full ladder with the rewards confirmed at each checkpoint.
| Rank | Proficiency level | What the milestone gives |
|---|---|---|
| Agent | 1 | Starting rank; the three repeatable challenges unlock on that hero |
| Knight | 5 | Avatar spray for the hero |
| Captain | 10 | Deluxe KO prompt |
| Centurion | 15 | Deluxe 2 KO prompt |
| Lord | 20 | Lord status plus the deluxe avatar |
| Count | 25 | Further nameplates, titles and badges |
| Colonel | 30 | Coloured nameplate frame |
| Warrior | 35 | Further titles, badges and medals |
| Elite | 40 | Second coloured nameplate frame |
| Guardian | 45 | Late-track nameplates, titles and medals |
| Champion | 70 | Champion status, animated avatar and the final title |
Across one hero's full track the game also pays out 500 Units and 500 Unstable Molecules, currency you keep and spend wherever you like. Run the track on several heroes and that currency stacks per hero.
How proficiency is earned: Play Time, HP Quota and KO Quota
Proficiency comes from three repeatable per-hero challenges: Play Time, which completes every 15 minutes played on that hero, HP Quota and KO Quota. All three reset and scale, so each completion pushes the next requirement higher and the later ranks take materially longer than the first five.
The HP and KO quotas are weighted by role, which is the part most guides miss. A Vanguard, a Duelist and a Strategist do not accumulate the same quota at the same rate, because the game normalises what a healing hero, a frontline hero and a damage hero are expected to produce in a match. If you are unsure which role your target hero sits in, our Marvel Rivals characters guide lists the roster by role.
Lord at level 20 and Champion at level 70
Lord is the fifth of the 11 ranks and arrives at level 20, which is the point most players stop at because it delivers the deluxe avatar and the visible Lord marker on the hero. Champion is the eleventh rank at level 70 and closes the track with an animated avatar and the final title.
There is no published match count for either target, and we will not invent one. Because Play Time, HP Quota and KO Quota all scale with each completion, the distance from level 45 to level 70 is far longer than the distance from level 1 to level 20. Set the slider to the range you want — 1 to 20 for Lord, or the full 1 to 70 for Champion — and the configurator prices it, with level 70 as the top reference point at a $4.59 unit level.
What proficiency does not unlock
Proficiency does not unlock costumes or weapon skins at any of the 70 levels — that is the most common misconception in this category. The full track pays in avatars, avatar sprays, nameplate frames, KO prompts, titles, badges and medals, plus the 500 Units and 500 Unstable Molecules per hero.
Costumes come from the battle pass, the store and seasonal ranked rewards, not from proficiency. Anyone advertising skins as a proficiency reward is describing a system that does not exist. What you are buying here is hero-level status and cosmetic identity, plus currency you can then spend on the things proficiency does not hand you directly.
Which of the 51 heroes you can select
The configurator lists 51 selectable heroes, covering Vanguard, Duelist and Strategist picks, and you choose exactly one per order. If you want proficiency on more than one hero, place the hero selection separately for each, since every hero has its own independent track and its own 500 Units and 500 Unstable Molecules payout.
Picking a hero you already play is usually the best move, because the account keeps a coherent profile afterwards. If you are choosing by current strength instead, the Season 9.5 tier list is the fastest way to narrow it down.
PlayStation, Xbox and PC: why the platform choice matters
Three platforms are selectable — PlayStation, Xbox and PC — and you must choose the one the account actually plays on. Marvel Rivals runs on PC via Steam and Epic, on PS5 and PS4, and on Xbox Series X|S, and cross-progression account linking has been live since Season 5.
Proficiency itself is tied to the hero on the account rather than to a ladder, so it is not split the way competitive is. Ranked crossplay, by contrast, is split: PC has its own pool and consoles share a separate one, and ranks do not transfer between them. That distinction matters if you are also considering competitive work on the same account.
Proficiency boost versus a rank boost
A proficiency boost moves one hero from level 1 toward level 70; a Marvel Rivals rank boost moves your competitive standing through the 9-tier ladder that runs Bronze to Grandmaster, Celestial, Eternity and One Above All. They are separate systems with separate rewards and they do not feed each other.
Nothing in this order touches your competitive rank, your rank points or your placement history. Proficiency is earned in normal play on the hero, so your ladder position is exactly where you left it when the order closes. If you want both, they are ordered as two separate services.
How the service runs and what we can honestly say about safety
This is a piloted service: 1 booster signs in and plays the single hero you selected until the proficiency range you set, anywhere inside level 1 to level 70, is complete. There is no self-play option and no duo option in this purchase form. All existing proficiency, cosmetics, currency and unlocks on the account stay exactly as they are — the track only moves forward, never back.
On safety we will not give you the answer the rest of this niche gives. Account sharing sits against the EULA, and no third party — us included — can promise how a publisher will treat any individual account. What we can state is the method, which is ordinary human play on the hero you selected, with no cheats, scripts or third-party game modifiers, since those are what NetEase's published enforcement actions actually target. Judge the trade honestly before ordering.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is hero proficiency in Marvel Rivals?
Hero proficiency is a per-hero mastery track that runs from level 1 to level 70 and is split into 11 ranks, from Agent to Champion. It was overhauled in Season 6 in January 2026. Each hero has its own independent bar, so progress on one hero never carries over to another hero on the same account.
How is hero proficiency earned?
Through three repeatable per-hero challenges that reset and scale: Play Time, which completes every 15 minutes on that hero, HP Quota and KO Quota. The HP and KO quotas are weighted by role, so a Vanguard, a Duelist and a Strategist accrue them at different rates. Each completion raises the next requirement.
How much proficiency does it take to reach Lord?
Lord is the fifth of the 11 ranks and lands at proficiency level 20, so the slider range 1 to 20 covers it. There is no official match count published for that distance, and we will not invent one, because Play Time, HP Quota and KO Quota all scale upward with every completion.
What does Champion at level 70 give me?
Champion is the eleventh and final rank, reached at the level 70 cap. It closes the track with an animated avatar and the final hero title, on top of everything earned earlier: the level 5 spray, the level 10 and 15 KO prompts, the Lord deluxe avatar at 20, and the coloured nameplate frames at 30 and 40.
Does proficiency unlock costumes or weapon skins?
No. Proficiency unlocks avatars, avatar sprays, nameplate frames, KO prompts, titles, badges and medals, and pays out 500 Units plus 500 Unstable Molecules per hero across the full track. Costumes and weapon skins come from the battle pass, the store and seasonal ranked rewards instead, never from the proficiency ladder itself.
Will a proficiency boost change my competitive rank?
No. Proficiency and competitive rank are separate systems. This order moves one hero along the 70-level proficiency track and does not touch your rank points, your tier or your placement history on the 9-tier ladder that ends at Eternity and One Above All. If you want ladder movement, order a rank boost separately.
Is a proficiency boost safe for my account?
We will not answer that with a flat yes. Account sharing sits against the EULA, and no third party can promise how a publisher treats an individual account. What we can describe is the method: ordinary human play on the hero you selected, with no cheats, scripts or third-party modifiers, which are what NetEase's published enforcement actually targets.
Which platforms do you support?
Three platforms are selectable in the form: PlayStation, Xbox and PC. Marvel Rivals runs on PC through Steam and Epic, on PS5 and PS4, and on Xbox Series X|S. Choose the platform the account actually plays on. Cross-progression account linking has been live in Marvel Rivals since Season 5.
Which heroes can I choose?
The hero selector carries 51 selectable heroes across the Vanguard, Duelist and Strategist roles, and one hero is chosen per order. Proficiency is tracked per hero, so a second hero means a second order with its own range and its own 500 Units and 500 Unstable Molecules payout at the end of the track.
Is my existing proficiency progress kept?
Yes. The track only moves forward from wherever that hero currently sits, so every level, rank, avatar, frame, KO prompt, title and badge already earned stays on the account. Set the slider to cover the span you still need, anywhere inside the 1 to 70 range, rather than starting the hero over.
How is this different from a rank boost?
A proficiency boost advances one hero through 70 levels and 11 ranks for cosmetic status such as Lord at 20 and Champion at 70. A rank boost moves your competitive placement through the 9-tier ladder up to Eternity. They are separate systems, ordered separately, and neither one advances the other.
