Mushrooms are one of the easiest items to overlook in ARC Raiders — until you try to push Scrappy to his final level and realize you need a stack of them. This guide gives you the exact maps, the safest farming route, and what mushrooms are actually for, so you stop running empty laps around the swamp.

Quick answer: where to find mushrooms in ARC Raiders

  • Best map: Dam Battlegrounds — the western swamp around the Hydroponic Dome Complex and Central Swamp Lift has the highest mushroom density.
  • Fastest guaranteed run: Spaceport → East Container Yard. A single tree there spawns a guaranteed 3 mushrooms per raid, plus more in the underground tunnels in the center of the map.
  • What they're for: a small heal (15 HP), and — the real reason you're here — training Scrappy. Upgrading Scrappy IV → V costs 12× Mushroom.
  • Pro tip: mushrooms are a Nature item, so spawns spike hard when the Lush Blooms condition is active on the Dam.

If you just want the materials Scrappy produces without the grind, farming materials directly or buying them is faster — more on that below.

What is a mushroom in ARC Raiders?

A Mushroom is an Uncommon Healing Item. Per the ARC Raiders Wiki, it "can be consumed to regain a small amount of health" — specifically 15 HP over a 1-second use time. It weighs only 0.2 and sells for 1,000 credits, and it stacks up to 10.

That makes it a weak emergency heal at best; nobody is building a kit around mushrooms. The reason mushrooms matter is the line right under the heal stat: "It is also used to train Scrappy." That single sentence is why "where to find mushrooms" is one of the most-searched ARC queries — players hit the Scrappy upgrade wall and need a stack, fast.

StatValue

Weight0.2
Sell value1,000 credits
Max stack10
Recyclable / salvageableNo (cannot be broken down)

Because mushrooms cannot be recycled or salvaged, every one you need has to be harvested in a raid — there's no crafting shortcut. That's the whole challenge.

Where do you find mushrooms on every map?

Mushrooms grow attached to trees, on pipes and walls, standing on their own, or inside Wicker Baskets (ARC Raiders Wiki). Look for the green leaf Nature harvest prompt. Here's the quick reference before the map-by-map detail:

MapBest spotWhy
Dam BattlegroundsHydroponic Dome Complex + Central Swamp LiftHighest density; central, close to spawns
Dam BattlegroundsWater Treatment Control / WreckagePipes + fallen trees near Baron Husk
SpaceportEast Container Yard treeGuaranteed 3 per raid — fastest farm
SpaceportCentral underground tunnelsBackup spawns mid-map
Riven TidesDried RiverbedReliable tree line

Now the detail, map by map.

Dam Battlegrounds (best overall)

The Dam is the densest mushroom map by a wide margin. Focus on:

  • Hydroponic Dome Complex — the sandy shores surrounding it and the interior irrigation planters. This western swamp region is the single richest pocket.
  • Central Swamp Lift — growing on the nearby trees. It's centrally located, close to most spawns, and a short run from the Dome.
  • Water Treatment Control — growing on the exposed pipes.
  • Wreckage — near the Baron Husk and the fallen trees.

Shacknews notes mushrooms appear in "any area marked with the Nature icon (a leaf)," and that they're "most common in Dam Battlegrounds, in the western swamp region surrounding the Hydroponic Dome Complex." If you only learn one map for mushrooms, learn this one.

Spaceport (fastest guaranteed)

If you want mushrooms on a timer, Spaceport is the efficiency pick:

  • East Container Yard — there's a small hangar just south of the location, and a tree that spawns a guaranteed 3 mushrooms every raid.
  • Underground tunnels in the center of the map also seed them.

That guaranteed-3 tree is the backbone of the fastest farm: load in, grab 3, extract or reset, repeat. Four clean runs and you've got the 12 you need for Scrappy.

Riven Tides

Lighter, but reliable in one spot:

  • Dried Riverbed — mushrooms grow on the trees lining it.

The Lush Blooms multiplier

Mushrooms are a Nature item, and the Dam's Lush Blooms condition exists specifically to flood the map with them. The in-game description reads:

"The weather has been unusually agreeable lately, and vital plants and fruits have been thriving. Get out there and gather your food before it is all gone. Increased amount of Nature loot." — Lush Blooms condition, ARC Raiders Wiki

When Lush Blooms is live on Dam Battlegrounds, drop everything and farm — your mushroom-per-run count jumps significantly. It's the closest thing to a "double materials" weekend the swamp gets.

What are mushrooms used for? (Scrappy, explained)

Here's the payoff. Scrappy is the rooster who's lived in your workshop since the day you moved in. Per the ARC Raiders Wiki, while you're Topside he "accumulates Metal Parts, Fabric, Plastic Parts, Chemicals, Rubber Parts, and Assorted Seeds" — passive materials you collect from his box back in Speranza. He doesn't gather while you're offline or sitting in town, and he caps out after 5 rounds before you have to empty his box.

The higher Scrappy's level, the more he pulls per raid. At Level 1 a >1-minute round nets you 5× per resource; the rates climb with each level. So leveling Scrappy is a permanent, compounding free materials upgrade — which is exactly why people grind mushrooms.

The wall most players hit is the final tier. Upgrading Scrappy IV → Scrappy V costs:

  • 12× Mushroom
  • 12× Apricot
  • 3× Very Comfortable Pillow

Apricots are the other half of the bill — also a Nature item (they restore 20 stamina), so the same swamp runs that farm mushrooms farm apricots too. Hit the Dam during Lush Blooms and you can knock out both at once.

A few things worth knowing so you don't waste raids:

  • Scrappy only earns rewards if you spend at least 1 minute in a round — surrendering 5 seconds in nets nothing.
  • The reward tiers cap at 15 minutes in-round; staying 40 minutes gives the same payout as 15.
  • It's time spent in the round, not how long the round has been running — spawning late still counts your own clock.

Fastest mushroom farming route

Put it together and the optimal loop looks like this:

  • Check the condition. If Lush Blooms is active on the Dam, farm there — it's the highest yield by far.
  • No Lush Blooms? Run Spaceport. Drop near East Container Yard, hit the guaranteed-3 tree, sweep the small hangar to its south, and dip into the central underground tunnels.
  • Carry an Adrenaline Shot or two. If you spawn far from the tree, a quick stamina burst gets you there before another raider strips it.
  • Don't fight for them. Mushrooms are low-value loot — they're not worth a gunfight. Rat the harvest, extract, repeat.
  • Batch it. You need 12 for Scrappy V; ~4 Spaceport runs or one strong Lush Blooms Dam run gets you there, plus your apricots on the side.

Because mushrooms only sell for 1,000c and weigh almost nothing, there's no reason to hoard beyond what Scrappy needs — grab your stack, upgrade, and put the swamp behind you.

Common mistakes that waste runs

  • Fighting over mushrooms. They're 1,000c loot. Dying with a full kit to contest a tree is a terrible trade — rat the harvest and leave.
  • Ignoring the condition. Running the Dam when Lush Blooms isn't up, then wondering why spawns feel thin. Check the modifier first.
  • Forgetting apricots. You need 12 of those too for Scrappy V — pick them up on the same Nature runs instead of making a second trip.
  • Surrendering early. Bailing under a minute in means Scrappy gets nothing for that round. Bank at least one minute even on a bad raid.

Skip the grind: get the materials Scrappy makes

The entire point of leveling Scrappy is passive materials — metal, fabric, plastic, chemicals, rubber. If you're upgrading him purely to stop running low on crafting components, the faster move is to top up the materials directly and spend your raids on loot that actually matters (blueprints, high-tier gear, Trials).

Stop grinding the swamp — stock the workshop instead:

- ARC Raiders Materials — from $0.02 — all rarities, instant delivery, the exact components Scrappy farms for you.

- ARC Raiders Blueprints — from $0.99 — 60+ blueprints, unlock rare weapons, fast & secure.

- All ARC Raiders services — leveling, carries, gear, and more.

It's the same end state as a maxed Scrappy — a full workshop — without the mushroom laps. Pair it with our materials farming guide if you'd rather grind it the long way.

FAQ

Where do you find mushrooms in ARC Raiders? Mushrooms grow on trees, pipes, walls, and in Wicker Baskets in Nature-marked areas. The densest spot is Dam Battlegrounds, in the western swamp around the Hydroponic Dome Complex and Central Swamp Lift. For a guaranteed run, the East Container Yard on Spaceport has a tree that spawns 3 mushrooms every raid.

What are mushrooms used for in ARC Raiders? Two things: a small 15 HP heal, and training Scrappy, the workshop rooster who passively gathers materials. Upgrading Scrappy IV to V requires 12 mushrooms (plus 12 apricots and 3 Very Comfortable Pillows).

How many mushrooms do you need for Scrappy? You need 12 mushrooms for the Scrappy IV → V upgrade, alongside 12 apricots and 3 Very Comfortable Pillows.

Do mushrooms heal in ARC Raiders? Yes, but barely — a mushroom restores 15 HP over a 1-second use. It's an emergency-only heal; you'll want proper medical items for real fights.

What's the fastest way to farm mushrooms? Farm Dam Battlegrounds during the Lush Blooms condition (it boosts Nature loot), or run the Spaceport East Container Yard guaranteed-3 tree on repeat. Carry an Adrenaline Shot to beat other raiders to the spawn, and don't fight over them.

Can you recycle or buy mushrooms? Mushrooms cannot be recycled or salvaged, so they must be harvested in-raid. You can pick them up from other raiders' loot, but there's no crafting shortcut — which is why knowing the spawn locations matters.
