BO7 Cold Snap / Master At Arms Not Unlocking After 50 Weapons? The Real Reason It Didn't Pop (And the Fix)

Finishing your 50th weapon at Level 250 and watching nothing happen is the most deflating moment in the entire Black Ops 7 grind. You did the single longest cosmetic chase in the game — Weapon Prestige Master on fifty separate guns — and the Cold Snap Ultra camo (and the "Master At Arms"-tier completion the badge sits behind) just… didn't pop. Before you open a support ticket, know this: in almost every r/blackops7 thread about this, the camo wasn't bugged. The player miscounted their weapons, counted a gun that isn't eligible, or hit a known end-of-match tally delay. This guide breaks down exactly why Cold Snap fails to trigger, the real weapon math, and every working fix — then the fastest way to finish the ones you're actually missing before MW4 resets the Warzone side on October 23.

Quick answer: Cold Snap unlocks the instant your 50th different weapon reaches Weapon Prestige Master, Level 250. If you "finished" and it didn't appear, the usual causes are (1) you counted a weapon that isn't at Level 250 yet, (2) you counted a blueprint or a duplicate instead of a distinct base weapon, or (3) the end-of-match tally hasn't registered — a full relog fixes that last one. There is no hidden challenge and no store purchase; it is purely a count problem.

Why Cold Snap didn't unlock (the real reason)

Cold Snap is a hidden Ultra Weapon Prestige reward, not a Mastery camo. It isn't tied to the Shattered Gold → Arclight → Tempest → Singularity ladder, and it doesn't show on the normal camo screen. The game grants it automatically the moment 50 different weapons each hit Weapon Prestige Master, Level 250 — tracked in the Prestige Master challenges tab, not the camo menu. As one creator put it after finishing, "They just added an Ultra Weapon Prestige Reward in Black Ops 7 — a secret camo for getting 50 weapons to Level 250."

Because the trigger is a pure count, when it doesn't fire the problem is always one of three things:

  • A weapon you think is done isn't actually at Level 250. Weapon Prestige Master raises a gun's cap to Level 250 — but you still have to reach 250 after prestiging. A gun sitting at "Prestige Master, Level 211" counts as zero toward Cold Snap. Only a completed Level 250 weapon is counted.
  • You counted something that isn't a distinct base weapon. Blueprints of a gun you already maxed don't add a second slot, and the camo only counts completed, different weapons.
  • The 50th weapon finished but the tally lagged. CoD resolves prestige/camo milestones on an end-of-match tick; if you hit 250 and backed out fast, the unlock can hang until the game re-reads your progression.

The weapon math: do you even have 50 eligible guns?

This is the trap that catches the most players. People eyeball their arsenal, add up a category count from memory, and get a number that's too high — then assume the game shorted them. Black Ops 7 launched with 30 base weapons. The pool has grown every season (reaching the mid-50s by late-season content), which is why 50 is reachable at all — but it also means you cannot assume a category has more guns than it does. A player in the exact thread that prompted this guide listed "14 SMGs." There aren't 14 SMGs. Overcount your categories and you'll "finish 50" on paper while the game only sees 46 done.

Black Ops 7 weapon arsenal screen listing weapons by category — count completed Level 250 guns one by one instead of trusting a mental tally

Here is the verified launch base-weapon breakdown to anchor your count — add the weapons your season has shipped on top of this, counting only the ones you've taken to Level 250:

CategoryLaunch base weapons
Assault Rifles6
SMGs6
LMGs2
Shotguns3
Marksman Rifles3
Sniper Rifles3
Pistols3
Launchers2
Melee2
Total (launch)30

The honest way to count is to stop trusting the category tabs and count completed Level 250 guns one by one. Melee and launchers are where most "I'm at 50" players are actually short — they're easy to forget and awkward to grind, so they get left for last and then miscounted as done. Unlike base-weapon camo Mastery (which is strictly the 30 base guns), every weapon in your arsenal that can reach Weapon Prestige Master counts toward Cold Snap's 50, including seasonal and event weapons you've maxed. That's good news: the extra guns added across the seasons are exactly how you get from 30 to 50.

Every working fix, in order

Run these top to bottom. Most "not triggering" cases are solved by the first two.

  • Recount in the Prestige Master challenges tab, not the camo screen. Open the Prestige Master challenges tab and verify the game's own counter — not your mental tally. If it reads 47/50, you have three weapons left, full stop. This single step resolves the majority of threads.
  • Relog / full restart. Fully close Black Ops 7 (quit to dashboard, don't just suspend) and relaunch. This forces a fresh progression read and clears the end-of-match tally delay that hangs unlocks when the 50th weapon finished on the last tick.
  • Re-enter a match and complete one full round. If a relog alone doesn't pop it, load any match and finish it cleanly so the game runs a fresh end-of-match reconciliation with your corrected count.
  • Check that each "done" gun truly reads Level 250 at Weapon Prestige Master — not Prestige Master mid-grind. Inspect the three or four most recent guns you finished; one sitting at 24x is the usual culprit.
  • Confirm you're looking in the right place for the camo. Cold Snap is universal and lives in the Prestige/Ultra reward section, not the per-weapon Mastery list — players sometimes have it unlocked and are searching the wrong menu.

If the counter says 50/50 and a relog plus a full match still shows no camo, then it's worth a support ticket to Activision — but that's rare, and you'll want the 50/50 screenshot ready.

Cold Snap vs the "Master At Arms" badge — don't confuse the two

Cold Snap is the camo. The prestige badge that players describe as the "Master At Arms"-tier flex sits one step further: it wants account Prestige Master Level 1,000 plus 50 weapons at Weapon Prestige Max. In other words, clearing Cold Snap gets you halfway to that badge — you've done the 50-weapon half, but the account-level 1,000 half is separate. If your camo popped but the badge/title didn't, that's not a bug either: you still owe the account-Prestige-Master Level 1,000 side. (See our BO7 Prestige Master Level 1,000 guide for how long that half takes.)

The fastest way to finish the weapons you're actually missing

The Cold Snap Ultra Weapon Prestige camo in Black Ops 7 — the animated finish awarded for taking 50 different weapons to Level 250

Once your recount tells you the real number left, the grind is pure time, not skill. Two levers do the heavy lifting:

  • Progress is shared between Black Ops 7 and Warzone. It's the same weapon prestige system, so weapon XP earned in Warzone counts toward the same Level 250 total, and vice versa. Grind whichever mode is giving you the best XP per minute right now and don't split a gun's progress across half-finished weapons — ride one gun to 250 through all its prestiges, then move to the next. Cold Snap only counts completed weapons, so five guns at Level 120 is worth zero; one gun at 250 is worth one. (Full route in our Cold Snap unlock guide.)
  • Only grind inside a 2XP window. Double Weapon XP roughly halves the time per gun. Stacking a 2XP token on top of a 2XP weekend is the single biggest efficiency lever most players miss. For the mechanical breakdown of how weapon and account prestige interact, see our fastest weapon XP to Max Prestige guide.

A realistic warning on timing: Modern Warfare 4 launches October 23, 2026, and Warzone integration follows. Your BO7 Cold Snap and your maxed weapons stay earnable and displayable inside Black Ops 7 itself indefinitely — but once MW4's Warzone arrives, legacy BO7 camos do not carry onto legacy weapons there (Operators and Blueprints do; Activision confirmed the camo-carry reversal). So the clean window to finish the 50-weapon grind as a BO7 flex is now, not after the reset. If you're close and short on time before the deadline:

FAQ

Why didn't Cold Snap unlock after I got 50 weapons to Level 250? The most common reason is a miscount — the Prestige Master challenges tab shows the game's real counter, and it's usually 47–49, not 50, because a melee, a launcher, or a seasonal weapon isn't actually at Level 250 yet. The second most common reason is an end-of-match tally delay, which a full relog fixes. It is not a store item and has no hidden challenge, so a true bug is rare.

How many weapons do I need at Level 250 for Cold Snap? Exactly 50 different weapons, each at Weapon Prestige Master, Level 250. Black Ops 7 launched with 30 base weapons and has grown past 50 with seasonal additions, so any maxed weapon in your arsenal counts — not just the 30 base guns, unlike base-weapon camo Mastery.

Does Warzone progress count toward Cold Snap? Yes. Black Ops 7 and Warzone share the same weapon prestige system, so weapon XP and prestige progress carry both ways toward the same Level 250 total. Grind whichever mode gives you the best XP per minute.

Is "Master At Arms" the same as Cold Snap? No. Cold Snap is the Ultra camo for 50 weapons at Level 250. The higher prestige badge adds a second requirement — account Prestige Master Level 1,000 on top of the 50 maxed weapons — so finishing Cold Snap only completes half of it.

Will I lose Cold Snap when Modern Warfare 4 launches on October 23? No — your Cold Snap camo and maxed weapons stay earnable and displayable inside Black Ops 7 forever. The caveat is MW4's Warzone: legacy BO7 camos won't apply to legacy weapons there (Operators and Blueprints carry; camos don't), so finish the grind as a BO7 flex before the reset if that matters to you.

Can I just relog to fix it? Often, yes. If your counter genuinely reads 50/50 but the camo hasn't appeared, a full game restart (quit to dashboard, relaunch) forces a fresh progression read and resolves the end-of-match tally hang that causes most "finished but no camo" cases.
