BO7 Endgame Skill Track Won't Show? How to Force Eagle Eye (or Any Track) & Fix the Reroll Loop (Season 5 Reloaded)

If you have tried to unlock the Eagle Eye skill track in Black Ops 7's Endgame mode and keep getting offered the same three — Warband, Tactician, Daredevil — over and over, you are not unlucky. You are stuck in the skill-track reroll loop, a well-documented quirk of how Endgame hands out tracks, and there is a reliable way out that does not require nuking your whole Operator back to zero.

One r/blackops7 player summed up the frustration exactly this week: "I've fully upgraded them and reset that individual track hoping to get Eagle Eye but still haven't. It's just a never-ending loop of those 3." Below is why it happens and every working fix, ranked from least to most drastic.

Quick answer

Endgame does not offer skill tracks from the full roster on every level-up — it offers two at a time from a pool that gets "locked in" once you commit to a build, so the tracks you already have keep re-appearing instead of new ones like Eagle Eye. The fastest fix is to hit Combat Rating 15, and if the track you want isn't in either of the two choices, immediately EVAC (extract) and redeploy — the offer reshuffles on the next run. If that stalls, reset the individual skill track at your Operator screen, or on PlayStation fully close BO7 (or load a different game) and relaunch to force a fresh reroll. The nuclear option is an Operator Prestige reset, which wipes your Combat Rating but guarantees a clean slate of track offers. You never need to delete your account or reinstall.

Why the same three skill tracks keep showing up

Here is the part the game never explains. In Endgame, Skill Tracks are earnable perks tied to your Operator's Combat Rating (CR) — you raise CR by completing objectives, uncovering intel, and defeating enemies out in Avalon (Dexerto's Skill Tracks breakdown). Every time your Combat Rating levels up, the game asks you to pick one of two offered Skill Tracks, then further CR levels unlock the individual skills inside those tracks.

The catch: those two options are drawn from a pool, and once you have committed to tracks on a run, the game strongly biases toward offering the tracks you already have so it can keep upgrading them. That is why a player who ran Warband, Tactician, and Daredevil sees only those three recycle — the reroll pool is effectively locked to your current build until you break the state.

There are three official ways to break it: finish a run and start fresh, reset a single track, or reset the whole Operator (a Combat Rating reset or full Prestige). The trick is doing the least-destructive one that works.

The real problem in one line? It's not RNG — it's a locked reroll pool. Break the pool and the missing track (Eagle Eye, Nightmare, whatever) starts appearing again.

Fix 1: EVAC-and-reroll at CR 15 (least destructive)

This is the community's go-to and it costs you almost nothing.

  • Redeploy into Avalon on a fresh run.
  • Grind Combat Rating up to around CR 15 — with a strong weapon this takes roughly 4–5 minutes, per players who farm it repeatedly.
  • At each level-up, check both offered tracks. If Eagle Eye (or your target track) is not one of the two options, EVAC / extract immediately rather than picking a track you don't want.
  • Redeploy. The two-track offer reshuffles on the new run.

Repeat until your target track appears in the offer. One veteran who has played Endgame almost exclusively since launch described doing "a dozen resets per match" this way to steer their build. It is tedious, but it is safe — you keep your Operator, your Prestige level, and your unlocks. Running a different primary weapon on these reroll runs also nudges a different set of offers, so swap guns if the same two keep coming up — and if you're rerolling on a low-level gun anyway, pair it with our fastest BO7 weapon XP methods so the CR grind doubles as gun progression.

Fix 2: Reset the individual skill track

If you are already deep into a build and don't want to re-grind, you can reset one track without touching the rest.

  • Open your Operator's Skills & Abilities screen. The bottom-left prompt shows the button that resets the Combat Rating / track for that character (on console it's the left stick click; keyboard binding varies).
  • Max out your CR first, then reset the specific track you want to swap. When you rebuild, the freed slot re-enters the reroll pool and your target track can be offered.

Community consensus: "you can max out your CR and then reset a skill track… I ended up just doing that and resetting one to the one I want." This is the middle-ground fix — more grind than an EVAC reroll, far less than a full Prestige.

Fix 3: Force a hard reroll (PlayStation trick)

Multiple PlayStation players report that the offered tracks reshuffle if you fully close the game state and reload it. From the r/bo7endgame community: "For PS, switch between games — load a different game and then reload BO7 — and it resets you back." On PC, force-closing and relaunching has mixed results (the original poster tried repeated force-closes with no change), so treat this as a console-first workaround.

There's also a known level-6 glitch some players use: get to CR 6, and if neither offered track is what you want, go straight to exfil — the game hiccups and you'll redeploy sitting just under CR 6 with a fresh offer. Treat this as unofficial and patch-fragile; Treyarch has adjusted Endgame reroll behavior across updates, so it may not survive the next one.

Fix 4: Operator Prestige reset (the guaranteed reset)

If you are truly stuck, an Operator Prestige hard-resets your Combat Rating and clears equipped Skills and Field Acquisitions, dropping you into a clean slate where the full track pool is back in play. This is the only method that guarantees the loop is broken, but it is also the most expensive — you re-grind from CR 0.

Two things worth knowing before you pull this trigger:

  • Death or a failed extract already sets your CR back by up to 15, so you don't need to Prestige just to shed a little progress (Dexerto).
  • Prestiging is a progression system, not a punishment — each Operator Prestige grants permanent skill-slot upgrades, and reaching the top track cap of CR 66 (with the higher Nightmare tracks) is what triggers Prestige in the first place. We break down the full loop, all three Prestige rewards, and the fastest way to max Combat Rating in our BO7 Endgame Operator Prestige guide.

If the grind is the real blocker — you want the track and the Prestige rewards without spending your evenings resetting rolls — this is where a boost makes sense:

Want the Prestige rewards without the reroll grind? Our pros run your Combat Rating and Operator Prestige for you, so you land the skill tracks and permanent upgrades you're after.

Is the skill-track loop a bug or intended?

Both, depending on who you ask. The two-track-at-a-time offer is intended — it's how Endgame's roguelite progression works. What players call a "bug" is that the reroll pool is so aggressively biased toward your existing tracks that certain tracks (Eagle Eye is the most-reported) can feel impossible to roll without a reset. Treyarch has tweaked reroll randomness in past Endgame updates, and the community is actively asking for a "choose your skill track from the full roster" option to remove the RNG entirely. Until that lands, the reset methods above are your only levers.

With Season 6: The Haunting launching September 17 at 9 AM PT (callofduty.com) and adding a new Avalon Night Endgame variant, expect the track pool and reroll behavior to shift again — so lock in the tracks you want on your main Operator before the season flips. (For everything arriving with the update, see our BO7 Season 6 release-date rundown.)

Frequently Asked Questions

Why do I only get offered the same three skill tracks in BO7 Endgame? Because the reroll pool locks to your current build. Endgame offers two tracks per Combat Rating level-up and heavily favors the tracks you already run so it can upgrade them, which is why Warband/Tactician/Daredevil (or whatever you committed to) keep recycling instead of a new track like Eagle Eye. You have to break the state with a reroll, a track reset, or a Prestige.

How do I force the Eagle Eye skill track? Fastest way: grind to about CR 15, and if Eagle Eye isn't in either of the two offered tracks, EVAC and redeploy to reshuffle the offer. Swapping your primary weapon between reroll runs helps. If that stalls, reset the individual track from your Operator's Skills screen, or on PlayStation fully close and reload the game to force a fresh reroll.

Do I have to reset my whole Operator to change skill tracks? No. A full Operator Prestige (Combat Rating reset) is the guaranteed fix but the most drastic. Try the EVAC-and-reroll and single-track reset first — both keep your Operator and unlocks intact. Only Prestige if nothing else breaks the loop.

Does dying reset my Endgame progress? Not fully. Dying or failing to extract sets your Combat Rating back by a maximum of 15 CR (as of the Season 3 update), not to zero. Your Operator, Prestige level and account-level unlocks are untouched.

Will Season 6 fix the skill-track reroll loop? Unconfirmed. Treyarch has adjusted Endgame reroll randomness in past updates, and Season 6: The Haunting (September 17) adds an Avalon Night Endgame variant, so behavior may change. Nothing in the current patch notes promises a "pick any track" option yet — verify against callofduty.com when S6 drops.
