All the evidence says FC 27 Champions Tokens carry over to Season 2. The things you can buy with them don't. In EA SPORTS FC 27 Ultimate Team, the store data gives the Champions Token a window that runs to 1 October 2027, which covers almost the whole game cycle. EA hasn't put a Champions-specific guarantee in writing, though. What's certain is the shelf: 15 of the 16 Season 1 offers in the Champions Token Store leave on Thursday 22 October 2026 at 06:59:59 UTC, when Season 1 ends, and the last one goes at 17:59 UTC. That's why r/fut had two separate "do Champions Tokens carry over?" threads (one, two) and a "will the champs store refresh?" thread on Sunday 18 October. The answers in those threads were guesses. This guide uses the store data instead.
FC 27 is in the last week of Season 1. EA's FC 27 Launch Rewards Pitch Notes put Season 2 at 22 October to 3 December 2026. Below: what happens to your balance, the exact list of offers that expire, which pack gives you the most player for your Tokens, and a spend-or-hold rule for every balance size.
TLDR: FC 27 Champions Tokens and the Season 2 reset. Your Champions Tokens should carry over. The fut.gg Token Store feed, which mirrors the game's store data, gives the Champions Token a window of 3 September 2026 to 1 October 2027, which is about 348 days from now. EA hasn't made a Champions-specific statement, so this is the data's answer rather than an EA guarantee. EA Help's Tokens page says it in plain words: "Any unused Tokens may still remain in your account after the store closes." What doesn't carry over is the shelf. 15 of the 16 live Champions offers end 22 October at 06:59:59 UTC, and the TOTW Player Pack follows at 17:59 UTC. That list includes the Frontline Flair Evolution and both 86+ packs. EA hasn't published what the Season 2 Champions store will stock. Buy now only if you want something specific on today's list; otherwise holding costs you nothing.

Do FC 27 Champions Tokens carry over to Season 2?
Very likely yes. There are three separate pieces of evidence, although none of them is an EA promise written specifically for FC 27's Champions Token.
1. The token's own expiry date. Every FC 27 Token currency comes with a start and end time in the store data. fut.gg publishes these on its FC 27 Token Store page. We read the feed on 18 October 2026:

(The trackers disagree on the cap: fifauteam lists a limit of 1,000 Champions Tokens a week from gameplay. The feed shows none. Neither number matters for the reset.)
If the Champions Token were set up to be wiped at Season 2, you'd expect its window to end on 22 October 2026. It runs another eleven months, almost to the end of the FC 27 cycle. The Season 1 store items, by contrast, carry a 22 October end time. The currency and the shelf are on two different clocks, and that's the source of most of the confusion.
2. EA's own Help article. EA's How to use Tokens and Token Stores page (updated in mid-October 2026) says: "When a store becomes inactive, you can't spend Tokens in that store anymore. Any unused Tokens may still remain in your account after the store closes." It also says that "Each Token Store only accepts its specific Token type." So your balance stays as long as a Champions store exists to spend it in.
3. Last year's game did the same. Champions Tokens came in during FC 26's Season 8 (per fut.gg), and the store wasn't wiped when Season 9 began. EA's FC 26 Season 9 Pitch Notes said: "The Champions Token Store in Season 9 will continue to feature a mix of Packs, Picks, and Player Items." When a "Champs Tokens don't carry over" rumour went round r/EASportsFC in June 2026, replies pointed to an article and called it wrong. One commenter in Sunday's r/fut thread made the same FC 26 comparison.
The honest caveat. That EA Help page also says "Each Season will have its own Token(s) and Token Store(s)." That sentence was written for FC 26's Festival of Football event Tokens, which really were capped (1,000 a week, 5,000 in total) and whose store closed at the end of August. The Champions Token isn't an event Token, and its store-data end date is October 2027. EA hasn't made a Champions-specific statement for FC 27, though. If your balance looks wrong on 22 October, check the Token Summary screen, as the Help page suggests, before you assume anything was taken.

Costs, limits and end times come from the fut.gg feed. The Tradeable column comes from fifauteam's FC 27 Champions rewards page, so confirm the tag on the in-game tile before you buy.
The two FUT Champions TOTW 3 Player Picks (50 and 100 Tokens) have already gone. They expired on 7 October. That shows Red Item TOTW picks are week-limited rather than season-long, and it's why the Champions store looks thinner today than it did at launch.
Three details matter here:
- 06:59:59 UTC is earlier than most people think. That's 07:59 in the UK, 08:59 in Central Europe and 02:59 on the US East Coast, all on Thursday. If you plan to "buy Thursday after work", you'll be too late.
- The TOTW Player Pack is the one exception. It stays until 17:59 UTC on the 22nd, eleven hours after everything else.
- Tradeability changes the maths. Four of the player offers are untradeable according to fifauteam, including the 5x 86+ and the 10x 84+. EA Help says Token purchases "can't be reversed or refunded," so check before you confirm.
Which Champions pack gives you the most player per Token?
Divide the cost by the number of players in each pack and the shelf sorts itself out:

This is a quantity comparison, not a full value calculation, because the packs don't all have the same tradeability. Two conclusions most store guides don't spell out:
- For your own club, the 5x 86+ beats the 2x 86+. Both have the same 86 floor. The 2x pack costs 37.5 Tokens per player and the 5x costs 25, so you pay 50% more per card for the smaller pack. The 2x 86+ has one real argument: fifauteam lists it as tradeable and the 5x as untradeable. If you want cards you can sell, the 2x is the only 86+ option. If you just want 86s for SBCs, take the 5x.
- The 20x 81+ is the fodder king. At 2.5 Tokens per player it costs the same per card as the 10x 80+ and the 2x 77+, with a higher rating floor and twice the volume, and fifauteam lists it as tradeable. If your SBCs need 81–83 fodder before Season 2, this is the one to buy.
The 3x 88+ is the only pack where the floor clearly reaches meta-relevant cards, but at 66.7 Tokens per player it's a lottery ticket. Don't treat it as a value buy.
How many Champions Tokens do you earn per weekend?
The scale explains why most players are sitting on a balance. Community trackers (fifauteam, collected in our FC 27 FUT Champions Finals rewards table) list Finals rewards from 15 Tokens and 0 coins at 1 win up to 450 Tokens and 250,000 coins at 15 wins. We haven't found an EA-published per-rank Token table for FC 27, so treat the in-game rewards screen as the final word. On that table, a 7- or 8-win weekend pays 75–90 Tokens. That's enough for one 2x 86+ pack, but not for a 125-Token 5x 86+. A mid-table player can't empty the shelf in one week, which is exactly why "spend it all before Thursday" is bad advice when the balance doesn't expire.
The cost of holding is zero. The cost of panic-buying is spending 75 Tokens on a 2x 86+ you didn't want, only for a better Season 2 offer to show up two days later. Since EA hasn't announced what Season 2 will stock, nobody knows which way that will go. Your balance, though, is safe in both cases.

Should you buy Frontline Flair before the reset?
Only if you have the right card for it. Frontline Flair costs 100 Tokens, has a purchase limit of 1, and leaves the store at the reset. EA hasn't announced that it will return. It takes LW, RW and ST cards up to 83 OVR (CAM excluded) with Pace no higher than 84 and no more than 7 PlayStyles (fut.gg), and lifts Overall to an 84 cap. The decision rule: if you can name the 82–83 winger or striker you'd put it on today, buy it before 06:59 UTC on Thursday. If you can't, keep the 100 Tokens. An Evolution with no target is worth nothing.

Two more things to check before Thursday, and both have their own clocks:

Why did so many guides say Champions Tokens expire?
Because EA's calendar marks the end of the season, and nothing on the Champions Token itself says otherwise in the game's menus. Several guides, including some of our own earlier FC 27 coverage, played it safe and told you to spend everything before Season 2. When that advice was written, it was a fair hedge. It looks out of date now that the store data shows a separate currency window running to October 2027. We're updating those pages.
The pattern is the one FC 26 set: the Token stays and the shelf rotates. If EA changes that for Season 2, the Pitch Notes or the Token Summary screen will be the first place you see it, and we'll update this page.
