GTA 6 is 22 days out and preload opens November 12. Right now, screenshots are the closest thing to playing it. Most results are either Rockstar's bare gallery with no context or fan sites mixing official images with edits and old leaks. This guide covers only what's in Rockstar's own pack. Where can you download the official GTA 6 screenshots?
Go to the Downloads page on Rockstar's GTA VI site. Its first file is GTAVI_Screenshots.zip, served from Rockstar's own media CDN. We downloaded it on October 28, 2026:

Leaked vs official: every image on this page was released by Rockstar. Avoid "GTA 6 leaked screenshot" pages. The 2022 leak footage came from an early development build and doesn't show the finished game.
What do the official screenshots show of Leonida's six regions?
Rockstar's synopsis on the official GTA VI site sets the scene:
"Vice City, USA. Jason and Lucia have always known the deck is stacked against them. But when an easy score goes wrong, they find themselves on the darkest side of the sunniest place in America, in the middle of a criminal conspiracy stretching across the state of Leonida — forced to rely on each other more than ever if they want to make it out alive."

Vice City (12 shots)
Vice City gets twice as many shots as any other region. The set swings between postcard skylines, street-level crowds and nightlife. In the sunset shot below, a building in the foreground carries the Megamundo name. That's the company whose HQ opening party Jason and Lucia work as security in the Extended Look. Notice the Ferris wheel on the bay and the helicopter over the towers too.
Leonida Keys (6 shots)
The Keys are where Jason lives and works. The set is bright, sunny and slow-paced: island roads, turquoise water and scruffy beach-town life. The shot below has an easy-to-miss detail: a green iguana crossing the road in front of a mobility scooter. Green iguanas are one of the invasive species Rockstar confirmed in Game Informer's wildlife feature, part of 170+ animal species in the game. More on the region in our Leonida Keys guide.
Grassrivers (6 shots)
Grassrivers is Leonida's Everglades: airboats, locals posing with a gator, and a waterfront town built on stilts over the water. The most game-like image in the whole pack is here. A pickup tears through the swamp with a police cruiser behind it, a helicopter overhead, an airboat in the reeds and an alligator in the water. In the r/GTA6 thread on the GamesRadar preview, one player noticed something about the Everglades trees. Bald cypress only turns yellow in autumn, and yellow ones show up in the new images, so they wondered whether Leonida has seasonal changes. Treat that as a fan theory. Rockstar hasn't confirmed seasons.
Port Gellhorn (6 shots)
Rockstar describes Port Gellhorn as a once-popular vacation spot gone to seed, and the shots match. You get a back-room grow op, a pill deal through a car window and the night-time bonfire party below. It's the grittiest set of the six. Ambrosia (6 shots)
Ambrosia is rural, industrial and full of bikers. Rockstar's own location copy mentions a biker gang. In the shot below, a bearded rider wears an "ENFORCER" patch and has a revolver tucked against his chest, with a motorcycle parked behind him. The other shots in the set show mud-bogging trucks and side-by-sides, so expect off-road and small-town-crime content here, not beaches.
Mount Kalaga National Park (6 shots)
Leonida's northern wilderness has pine forest, hills, armed men in the tree line and a helicopter over a ridge. The standout below shows dirt bikes and a quad racing through mud past rusted industrial silos. Mount Kalaga also comes up in the Ultimate Edition's off-road vehicle copy, which mentions "the backwoods of Mount Kalaga and beyond."
What do the Jason and Lucia screenshots reveal?
Of the pack's 57 People images, 33 are of the two leads: 10 of Jason Duval, 10 of Lucia Caminos and 13 of them together. You can switch between them in the game. Our GTA 6 characters guide covers their full backstories.
Jason (10 shots). Rockstar's bio says Jason grew up around grifters, served in the Army and now works for drug runners in the Keys. His shots go back and forth between quiet moments and violence. You see him on a motorcycle under palm trees, aiming a rifle over the Vice City skyline at night, and fishing off the back of a boat, as below.
Lucia (10 shots). Lucia's bio says she went to prison fighting for her family, and her set opens on that story. She's handcuffed in an orange jumpsuit with other inmates (below), throwing punches in a gym, and relaxing at a pool with a cocktail. Trailer 2 shows Jason picking her up when she's released from the Leonida Department of Corrections.
Together (13 shots). This is the biggest set in the pack. It has the pair with guns drawn in a car, a tense walk into a crowded club, and the sunset embrace in the wetlands at the top of this page, with police airboats and a helicopter closing in behind them. It's the best single image of what Rockstar is selling: a couple on the run across Leonida.
Which supporting characters get official screenshots?
There are six supporting sets in the People folder, with 4 shots each (24 total). Every name below appears in Rockstar's official character bios:

Our favorite is Cal at a mini-golf course with a giant alligator statue behind him, putter in hand. It fits Rockstar's line that Cal is "at the low tide of America and happy there."
The Real Dimez shot below is set in a cramped recording studio, which fits the music-business storyline the bios set up around Only Raw Records. The rest of their set has a vocal-booth session, the duo dancing on a car roof in a night-time street crowd, and Roxy (her name is on her chain) riding in a car.
Characters introduced later in the Extended Look and the October 15 launch trailer (Méndez, Valentina, Andrés de León, Petra Navarro, Yago) don't have sets in the pack yet.
Are there new GTA 6 screenshots coming this week?
Yes. Edge magazine issue 430 goes on sale October 29, 2026 with a GTA 6 cover story. GamesRadar+ says it's a 16-page feature with exclusive interviews and imagery from Rockstar's Edinburgh studio, plus a gatefold cover of Jason and Lucia. You don't need to buy the magazine. GamesRadar+ says the full feature will be free to read on its site the same day.
The only previews so far are small images from a promo video. Those are the "GTA6 screenshots from GamesRadar" going around r/GTA6 this week. We'll add the Edge 430 screenshots to this page when they're published, labeled by source, so this stays the one place with every official image.
