Last checked: 2026-10-21 (RIVALS Update 24, RIVALSWEEN). Keys are the main currency in RIVALS. You spend them on weapons, wrap boxes, charm capsules, finishers, Daily Shop refreshes and win-streak recovery. They are not used for Skin Cases, which cost Robux or Skin Tickets. This guide covers the main ways to earn Keys for free, how many you can realistically bank per week, what each weapon costs, which Robux key bundle gives the most Keys per Robux, and how Skin Cases and Skin Tickets fit in.
Quick answer: Finish your Daily Tasks every day (6 Keys), which also earns you up to 5 Prize Wheels a week (about 3.4 Keys each on average). Clear the first contract tier on every weapon (1 Key for 5 eliminations plus 1 Key for 5 minutes of playtime), level the free Season Pass, and redeem the FREE-number codes (3 Keys each). Expect roughly 55–60 free Keys a week from dailies, wheels and codes alone. If you buy Keys, the Legendary Key Bundle (1,100 Keys for 4,999 Robux) is the cheapest per Key and also includes a Mythical Key skin and a Skin Case 3.
RIVALS is still one of the biggest games on Roblox. Our Roblox Games API pull on 2026-10-21 at 09:26 UTC showed 145,714 concurrent players, 18.86 billion visits and 95.45 million favorites, with the title showing "[🎃] RIVALS" for the Halloween update. That's a midweek morning snapshot; weekend peaks run much higher.

What are Keys used for in RIVALS?
The RIVALS Wiki Keys page puts it simply: "Keys are the primary in-game currency in RIVALS. They are used to purchase cosmetics, buy Weapons, and access various features throughout the game." In practice, you spend Keys on:
- Unlocking weapons. Standard weapons cost 5–75 Keys, Prime weapons 200–550 and Contraband weapons 600–700.
- Wrap Boxes (5 Keys), Charm Capsules (3 Keys) and Finisher Packs (10 Keys) from the Shop home page.
- Daily Shop items and Daily Shop refreshes.
- Recovering a win streak after a loss.
Skin Cases are the exception. They cost 249 Robux each or 10 Skin Tickets, not Keys (more on that below).
How do you get Keys for free in RIVALS?
These are the main free sources and how they compare:
| Source | Keys | How often |
|---|---|---|
| Beginner Tasks | 18 total | Once per account |
| Daily Tasks | 6 per day (1 + 2 + 3) | Every day |
| Bonus Tasks | 1–3 per task | Repeatable after Daily Tasks |
| Prize Wheel (from Daily Tasks) | 4 or 10 per spin (55% chance of Keys) | Up to 5 spins per week |
| Season Pass (free track) | Scattered Key rewards | As you level the pass |
| Weapon & playtime contracts | 1 + 1 at the first tier of each weapon | Once per weapon |
| Codes | 1–5 per code (FREE codes = 3) | Each new like milestone |
Beginner Tasks: 18 Keys on day one
New accounts get a one-time list of nine Beginner Tasks, according to the Tasks page: visit the Shooting Range, break 5 targets and slide (1 Key each), equip a Scythe, dash with it and throw a Grenade (2 Keys each), then play a duel, get 5 eliminations and win a duel (3 Keys each). That's 18 Keys in about ten minutes. With Daily Tasks on top, that's enough for a Sniper (75 Keys) in about a week and a half.
Daily Tasks: 6 Keys a day, plus Prize Wheels
Every day you get three Daily Tasks: Play 5 Duels (1 Key), Eliminate 15 Players (2 Keys) and Win 2 Duels (3 Keys). That's 6 Keys a day, or 42 a week. You can re-roll your Daily Tasks for 20 Robux, but you rarely need to.
The bigger reward sits on top. Update 22 replaced the old task streaks with a permanent Daily Tasks reward track. The patch notes say: "Unlike Task Streaks, the new system will no longer penalize you for forgetting to log in. Progressing through Daily Task rewards is permanent!" That track pays out Prize Wheels, and you can earn up to 5 per week just by completing your Daily Tasks (Update 22 notes). Missing a day no longer costs you progress, but every day you skip is a day of rewards you don't collect.
Bonus Tasks: keep going after the dailies
Once your dailies are done, Bonus Tasks appear: Play 12 Duels (1 Key), Eliminate 40 Players (2 Keys) and Win 12 Duels (3 Keys). Each time you finish one, another becomes available, and unfinished progress carries over to the next day. Update 22 capped specific Bonus Tasks at 3 completions per day to stop grinding exploits, so they top up a long session rather than replacing your dailies.
Prize Wheel: Keys, Skin Tickets and a 0.5% Legendary
Each Prize Wheel spin rolls one reward. These are the odds from the Prize Wheel page:
| Reward | Chance |
|---|---|
| 4 Keys | 35% |
| 2 Goodie Bags | 25% |
| 10 Keys | 20% |
| 1 Celestial Wrap | 15% |
| 1 Skin Ticket | 4% |
| Light Fifty Sniper skin (Legendary) | 0.5% |
The listed odds add up to 99.5%, so treat them as the wiki's best published figures rather than an official table. They work out to an average of 3.4 Keys per spin (0.35 × 4 + 0.20 × 10). Four to five spins a week adds about 14–17 Keys on average. The Light Fifty is the reason streamers keep spinning: at 0.5% per spin, a full week of wheels gives you only a 2–2.5% chance of getting it.
Contracts: two quick Keys per weapon
Contracts track your progress with each weapon. On a primary or secondary weapon, the first elimination contract pays 1 Key for 5 eliminations (3 for melee). Every weapon also has a playtime track that pays 1 Key after 5 minutes with it equipped. Later tiers give Charm Capsules, Wrap Boxes and eventually Gold, Diamond and Dark Matter wraps rather than Keys.
So when you unlock a new weapon, play one or two rounds with it to collect both Keys before switching back to your main loadout. Map Contracts (round wins on a specific map, Ranked included) also pay rewards.
Season Pass: free Keys as you level
The free track of the Season Pass includes Keys among its rewards, along with Goodie Bags, wraps and Skin Tickets. You gain a level by winning 25 rounds or playing for 20 minutes, and after 7 levels progress pauses for 7 days. Open the Pass button on your hotbar and claim rewards as you go.
Codes: 3 Keys every like milestone
RIVALS codes are redeemed in the Shop's Rewards menu, and the developers have to be followed for a code to work. The lobby code board refreshes every 50,000 likes with a new FREE-number code worth 3 Keys. The Codes page also lists standing codes such as BONUS and BOOST (1 Key each) and ROBLOX_RTC (5 Keys). ELBILLUG is a joke code that gives you "Nothing!". Codes expire quickly, so check our RIVALS codes page for the current list and the full redeem steps.
How many free Keys can you get per week?
A player who logs in daily and doesn't buy anything can expect roughly this:
- Daily Tasks: 42 Keys
- Prize Wheels (4–5 × 3.4 expected average): ~14–17 Keys
- One new FREE code: 3 Keys (it depends on likes)
- Total: ~55–60 Keys a week on average, plus whatever Bonus Tasks, Season Pass levels and new-weapon contracts add. Dailies alone are 42.
Put that against the price list and you get a clear progression order. A new account can unlock several cheap Standard weapons (Shorty, Revolver, Wildcat, Katana) in the first two weeks; owning every paid Standard weapon costs about 760 Keys, closer to three months of free play. A Prime weapon like the Minigun (450 Keys) takes about 8 weeks of dailies plus expected wheel Keys (nearly 11 weeks on dailies alone). A Contraband weapon like the Distortion (700 Keys) takes about 12 weeks on the same basis.
One player in an r/RivalsRoblox thread on grinding Keys summed it up: "there's no 'easy' way to grind keys tbh." Another replied with the simplest version of this guide: "Maybe you can spend 29 min in rivals to do daily task, keep your head up for codes too."
How much does each weapon cost in Keys?
These are the current Key prices from each weapon's wiki page (pulled 2026-10-21):
| Tier | Weapon (Keys) |
|---|---|
| Standard, free | Assault Rifle, Handgun, Fists, Grenade (0) |
| Standard, cheap | Spray 5 · Flare Gun 10 · Smoke Grenade 10 · Bow 15 · Chainsaw 15 · Flashbang 15 · Knife 20 · Shorty 20 · Shotgun 20 · Uzi 20 |
| Standard, mid | Burst Rifle 25 · Molotov 25 · Revolver 25 · RPG 25 · Daggers 30 · War Horn 30 · Crossbow 35 · Satchel 35 · Wildcat 35 · Scythe 40 |
| Standard, top | Freeze Ray 45 · Gunblade 45 · Katana 45 · Riot Shield 45 · Battle Axe 50 · Sniper 75 |
| Prime | Trowel 200 · Subspace Tripmine 250 · Medkit 300 · Slingshot 300 · Exogun 350 · Energy Pistols 400 · Flamethrower 400 · Warpstone 400 · Energy Rifle 425 · Grenade Launcher 425 · Minigun 450 · Paintball Gun 475 · Maul 550 |
| Contraband | Permafrost 600 · Warper 650 · Distortion 700 |
Spend order for a new player: grab the cheap duel staples first (Shorty, Revolver, Wildcat, Katana), then save for the Sniper. Our best weapons tier list ranks which of these are worth the Keys. Prime and Contraband weapons are luxuries, so don't spend 450 Keys on a Minigun until your core loadout is complete. Several Prime weapons also come in Robux bundles, so check those before you grind: the Heavy Duty Bundle has the Minigun, Grenade Launcher and Flamethrower, and the Classic Bundle has the Paintball Gun, Slingshot, Trowel and Subspace Tripmine.

Which RIVALS key bundle is the best value?
Here are the five Key bundles in the in-game currency shop (the green + next to your Key balance), at the standard global prices listed on the Currency Bundles page:
| Bundle | Robux | Keys | Robux per Key | Extras |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Key Bundle | 49 | 10 | 4.90 | — |
| Mega Key Bundle | 199 | 40 | 4.98 | 1 Charm Capsule |
| Super Key Bundle | 449 | 90 | 4.99 | 3 Charm Capsules, 1 Wrap Box 3, Legendary "Mini Key" charm |
| Ultra Key Bundle | 2,199 | 450 | 4.89 | 15 Capsules, 5 Wrap Box 3, 5 Mini Key, 2 Luxurious wraps, 1 Opulent finisher, Mythical Key skin |
| Legendary Key Bundle | 4,999 | 1,100 | 4.54 | 40 Capsules, 15 Wrap Box 3, 15 Mini Key, 5 Luxurious, 3 Opulent, Mythical Key skin, Skin Case 3 |
Two things stand out. First, the Robux-per-Key rate is almost flat up to the Ultra bundle. Only the Legendary Key Bundle is meaningfully cheaper, about 7% less per Key than the small bundles. Second, the extras are where the larger bundles earn their price. The Mythical Key skins in the Ultra and Legendary bundles can't be bought anywhere else, and the wiki notes they change every major update. If you want a particular Key skin, buy before the next update replaces it. Regional pricing and Roblox Plus discounts can change the Robux amounts.
Going for the best Robux-per-Key rate? Get the Legendary bundle from timesaver.gg:
Smaller budgets can pick the Ultra Key Bundle (450 Keys), which still includes the Mythical Key skin, or the Super Key Bundle (90 Keys).
If you plan to buy Keys mainly to unlock every Standard weapon, look at the Standard Weapons Bundle (999 Robux) first. It unlocks every Standard weapon, including ones added later, and refunds in Keys any Standard weapon you already own. For an account that has already unlocked a few weapons, that refund turns it into a Key purchase as well.
How do Skin Cases and Skin Tickets work?
Skin Cases are where most searches about "keys" end up, because people assume you open them with Keys. You don't. Each of the three permanent cases (Skin Case, Skin Case 2 and Skin Case 3) costs 249 Robux, or 724 Robux for a three-pack (about a 3% discount). You can also open one with 10 Skin Tickets. According to the Skin Case page, each case holds 44 skins across Common, Rare and Legendary rarities, and each opening gives you one random skin from that pool.
Skin Tickets are the free route, though a slow one. You get them from the Season Pass (the standard pass gives 10, enough for one case), the Login Rewards at the bottom of the Daily Shop (every 7 days you get a grand prize that may contain Skin Tickets), the Prize Wheel (4% chance per spin) and Prime Goodie Bags. Tickets never expire and carry over between seasons, so save them up.
Which case should you open? Pick the one whose pool contains skins for the weapons you actually use. Every case covers almost every weapon, but the notable Legendaries differ:
- Skin Case: Pixel Sniper, Nuke Launcher (RPG), Lasergun 3000 (Minigun), Saber (Katana), Balloon Shotgun.
- Skin Case 2: Hyper Sniper, Sheriff (Revolver), Boba Gun, Pixel Minigun, Karambit.
- Skin Case 3: Event Horizon (Sniper), Drum Gun, Balisong, Fighter Jet, Money Gun.
For a complete ranking of which cosmetics people value most, see our RIVALS best skins tier list.
Want the Event Horizon or Balisong pool? Open Skin Case 3 directly:
If your main is the Sniper or RPG with the classic Pixel and Nuke skins in mind, the original Skin Case 1 is the one to open.
What are the most common Key mistakes?
- Refreshing the Daily Shop with Keys for a skin. A Daily Shop refresh costs Keys, and skins that appear after a paid refresh can't be bought with Skin Tickets. Only the natural daily rotation accepts tickets.
- Skipping Daily Tasks. You no longer lose progress for missing a day, but the dailies feed the weekly Prize Wheels, which are worth about 14–17 Keys and are your only free shot at the Light Fifty.
- Buying a Prime weapon before your core loadout. A 400-Key Flamethrower is about seven weeks of dailies. Get the Standard duel weapons first.
- Trusting "free Keys" generators. Free RIVALS Keys come from in-game systems like tasks, contracts, the Season Pass and codes. Any site asking for your Roblox login in exchange for Keys is a phishing attempt.
- Ignoring Halloween Candy. During RIVALSWEEN (until November 7, 2026, 05:00 UTC), the event uses Candy, not Keys. Spend Candy on event items so you don't spend Keys on them. Our RIVALSWEEN guide has the full routine.
FAQ
What is the fastest way to get keys in RIVALS? Play every day. Daily Tasks give 6 Keys and also earn up to 5 Prize Wheels a week (about 3.4 Keys per spin on average). Add Bonus Tasks, Season Pass levels, first-tier contracts on new weapons and every new FREE code (3 Keys). Dailies, wheels and codes alone come to about 55–60 free Keys a week.
How many keys do you get per day in RIVALS? Daily Tasks pay a fixed 6 Keys (Play 5 Duels: 1, Eliminate 15 Players: 2, Win 2 Duels: 3). On top of that, each Bonus Task pays 1–3 Keys and you can keep completing them.
Can you open Skin Cases with Keys in RIVALS? No. Skin Cases cost 249 Robux each (724 for three) or 10 Skin Tickets. Keys open Wrap Boxes (5), Charm Capsules (3) and Finisher Packs (10).
Which RIVALS key bundle is the best deal? The Legendary Key Bundle: 1,100 Keys for 4,999 Robux, about 4.5 Robux per Key compared with about 4.9 for the smaller bundles. It also includes a Mythical Key skin and a Skin Case 3.
Do RIVALS keys expire or reset? No. Keys are a permanent currency and don't reset between seasons. Event currencies like Halloween Candy are different and are deleted when their event ends.
Can you trade keys in RIVALS? No. RIVALS has no player trading, so Keys, skins and wraps stay on the account that earned or bought them.
