NBA 2K27 Sale: Deluxe Is $45 on Steam (Cheaper Than Standard). Buy Now or Wait for Black Friday?

Quick answer (TL;DR)

Yes, NBA 2K27 is on sale, but only one version is. On Steam, the Deluxe Edition is 55% off: $45.00, down from $99.99, and the promotion ends November 9, 2026. The Standard Edition is still full price at $69.99. That means the bigger edition is $24.99 cheaper than the base game right now, and it comes with 100,000 VC that Standard doesn't have. On PS5, the same 55% Deluxe discount only shows up if you bought NBA 2K26 on the PlayStation Store, and it ends October 31. Everyone else on console can get boxed copies for PS5, Xbox Series X/S and Switch 2 at $49.94 at Amazon (about 29% off, per 9to5Toys on October 22).

Our verdict: if you play on PC, buy the Deluxe Edition before November 9. It's the best price NBA 2K27 has had so far, and it's unlikely Black Friday will beat it by much. If you bought 2K26 on the PlayStation Store, check your Deluxe price before October 31. Otherwise, on console there's no rush. Last year NBA 2K26 fell to about $30 on Black Friday, so waiting four weeks probably saves you around $20. All prices below were checked on October 28, 2026, during Season 2.

Is NBA 2K27 on sale right now?

Yes. The sale that matters most is on Steam, and it's an odd one. Valve's store lists a 55% discount on the Deluxe Edition only. Here's the banner on the Deluxe purchase box, word for word:

"SPECIAL PROMOTION! Offer ends November 9" — Steam store page, NBA 2K27 Deluxe Edition, read October 28, 2026

We checked the US, UK and German storefronts and found the same 55% cut in each:

Steam storefrontStandard EditionDeluxe Edition (was)Deluxe Edition (now)
United States$69.99$99.99$45.00
United Kingdom£59.99£89.99£40.50
Germany / Eurozone€69.99€99.99€45.00

In the UK the gap is smaller: Deluxe at £40.50 is £19.49 below Standard, compared with $24.99 in the US.

The Ultra Edition is no longer sold on Steam. Only Standard and Deluxe appear in the purchase section. 2K always described Ultra as a limited-time version that would disappear in the first days after the September 4 launch, and it has.

Why is Deluxe cheaper than Standard?

2K hasn't explained it, and Steam doesn't either. It's a promotion on one package, not a price cut for the whole game. Publishers often discount the premium version mid-season to push upgrades and get late buyers to start with VC in hand. Whatever the reason, the result is simple: for $45 you get everything in Standard, plus the Deluxe extras.

Here's what the Deluxe Edition includes, according to 2K's edition listing:

  • 100,000 VC
  • MyCAREER: 25× Skill Boosts (6 types), 25× Gatorade Boosts (3 types), a Victor Wembanyama jersey, a Caitlin Clark jersey, and a 2-hour 2XP coin
  • MyTEAM: a full '27: Series 1 Team Selection, a Triple Threat Park Free Agent Pack, 5× '27: Series 1 packs, and a 2-hour 2XP coin
  • Early access (no longer relevant, since the game launched worldwide on September 4)

One catch shows up in nearly every edition comparison we've written: the Deluxe MyTEAM cards and packs are unauctionable. You can play with them, but you can't sell them on the Auction House for MyTEAM Points. They help you start a lineup. They're not a way to make money.

How much is the 100,000 VC actually worth?

On PC, the VC is the main reason the deal is so good. Here are the official NBA 2K27 VC pack prices on the Microsoft Store, checked the same day:

VC packPriceVC per dollar
35,000 VC$9.99~3,500
75,000 VC$19.99~3,750
200,000 VC$49.99~4,000

The Deluxe's 100,000 VC would cost about $25–30 on its own, depending on which packs you combine. So the math works out like this:

  • Standard ($69.99) + 100,000 VC bought separately ≈ $95–100
  • Deluxe on sale ($45.00) = the same game, the same 100,000 VC, plus the boosts and MyTEAM packs

That makes the Deluxe deal worth roughly $50 more than buying the pieces separately. Prices on PC's in-game VC store can differ from Xbox's, so treat the per-dollar rates as a guide rather than an exact PC quote.

What is NBA 2K27 on sale for on PS5, Xbox and Switch 2?

The console picture is different, and on PlayStation it depends on what you bought last year:

  • PS5, if you bought NBA 2K26 on the PlayStation Store: 55% off Deluxe until October 31. The official PlayStation Store Deluxe listing says: "If you have purchased NBA 2K26 on PlayStation Store, you will see a 55% discount on the Deluxe Edition price until October 31." It's tied to your account, so the public page still shows the normal price. Sign in and check the Deluxe price you're offered. This ends 9 days before the Steam deal.
  • PS5, Xbox Series X/S and Switch 2 boxed copies: $49.94 at Amazon, down from about $70. 9to5Toys called it "the lowest we have tracked to date at Amazon" on October 22, 2026.
  • Everyone else on the PlayStation Store and Microsoft Store: we found no public NBA 2K27 discount today. Digital prices rotate with weekly sales, so check the store page before you buy.

Two things only apply to some platforms:

  • Switch 2 has no Deluxe Edition. 2K only ever sold Deluxe and Ultra on PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC, so the Steam-style "Deluxe for less than Standard" deal can't happen on Switch 2.
  • Deluxe and Ultra were never sold in Brazil. 2K stated this at launch, so Brazilian players only get the Standard Edition.

Amazon's price is for a disc or cartridge, so it includes 0 VC. If you plan to buy VC anyway, a digital Deluxe discount on console would beat it. Watch the PlayStation and Xbox stores during Black Friday week.

Will NBA 2K27 be cheaper on Black Friday?

Probably on console. On PC, maybe not by much. 2K hasn't announced any Black Friday pricing, so here's last year's pattern as a guide:

  • NBA 2K26 (2025): GameSpot reported $40 discounts on NBA 2K26 during Black Friday 2025, taking the Standard Edition to about $30. That was roughly 12 weeks after launch, about where NBA 2K27 will be on Black Friday, November 27, 2026.
  • NBA 2K27 now: the Standard Edition is already at $49.94 on Amazon, and Deluxe is already at $45 on Steam.

If 2K repeats last year's discount, a $30-ish Standard Edition on console during Black Friday week is a reasonable guess, though it isn't guaranteed. On PC, the Steam Deluxe deal ends November 9, before Black Friday, so you're comparing a confirmed $45 Deluxe with 100,000 VC against an unknown Black Friday price that may only cover Standard.

Is NBA 2K27 worth buying this late in the season?

It depends on which mode you play. Price isn't the deciding factor. One reply in the r/NBA2k thread that prompted this guide put it well:

"If you don't play my career - you can buy now or wait til it's lower. Just don't buy if you're into mycareer - you're kinda screwed on cap breakers and behind so much." — a player on r/NBA2k, October 28, 2026

That's partly true. Season 1's reward track is gone. Its level-40 Cap Breaker and Season 1 badge rewards can't be earned anymore, and late starters notice the gap in The City. But you can still catch up on a lot:

  • Cap Breakers still come from REP tiers, Build Specialization and the account-wide Lifetime Challenges, which never reset. See how many Cap Breakers you can get in NBA 2K27.
  • Season 2 began on October 16, and its full reward track is still ahead of you. Our NBA 2K27 Season 2 first things to do guide walks through the first day for a new or returning player.
  • The Deluxe's 100,000 VC pays for a meaningful chunk of a new build's attribute upgrades, and that's the late-start gap most players feel.

If you mainly play MyNBA or Play Now, starting late barely matters, since those modes don't depend on a season reward track. In MyTEAM you'll have missed Season 1's rewards, but the weekly drops and Season 2 challenges are open to everyone.

FAQ

Is NBA 2K27 on sale on Steam? Yes. As of October 28, 2026, the NBA 2K27 Deluxe Edition is 55% off on Steam at $45.00 (normally $99.99). The Standard Edition is not discounted and stays at $69.99. Steam says the offer ends November 9.

Is NBA 2K27 on sale on PS5? Only for some players. The PlayStation Store says anyone who bought NBA 2K26 there "will see a 55% discount on the Deluxe Edition price until October 31." If you didn't, there's no public PS Store discount right now. Boxed PS5 copies were $49.94 at Amazon as of October 22.

When does the NBA 2K27 Steam sale end? The Steam banner on the Deluxe Edition says "Offer ends November 9." Steam promotions usually end at 10:00 AM Pacific, but check the countdown on the store page.

Is NBA 2K27 Deluxe worth it over Standard? Right now on Steam, yes. It's $24.99 cheaper and adds 100,000 VC, boosts and MyTEAM packs. The only downside is that the Deluxe MyTEAM cards and packs are unauctionable.

Does the NBA 2K27 Deluxe Edition still come with 100,000 VC? Yes. 2K's edition listing includes 100,000 VC in the Deluxe Edition, and buying it now still grants it. The 10,000 VC pre-order bonus no longer applies, since the game has been out since September 4.

Will NBA 2K27 go on sale for Black Friday? 2K hasn't announced Black Friday pricing. Last year, GameSpot reported $40 off NBA 2K26 over Black Friday 2025, which brought it to about $30. A similar drop for NBA 2K27 around November 27, 2026 is likely but not confirmed.

Can I still buy the NBA 2K27 Ultra Edition? No. Ultra was a limited-time version, and Steam no longer lists it. Only the Standard and Deluxe Editions are for sale.

The bottom line

NBA 2K27's best deal right now is on PC: the Deluxe Edition for $45 on Steam, with 100,000 VC, until November 9. That's cheaper than the Standard Edition and worth about $50 more once you count the VC. On PS5, past NBA 2K26 PS Store buyers get the same 55% Deluxe cut, but only until October 31. For everyone else on console, the best confirmed price is the $49.94 boxed copy at Amazon, and if last year is any guide, Black Friday (November 27) should bring it closer to $30. If you're buying mainly for MyCAREER, the earlier you start the better, because Season 2's rewards are already counting down. This page covers Season 2 prices checked on October 28, 2026. We'll update it when the Black Friday deals go live.
