PoE2 Trade Prices Look Wrong in Forbidden Rites? You're Reading Standard, Not the Event League (0.5.5)

Path of Exile 2 trade site search results showing the league dropdown set to Standard and Divine Orb price listings

If a Divine Orb suddenly "costs" 450 Exalted in your price checker and a Mirror reads 9,000+ Divine less than a week into the Forbidden Rites event, you are almost certainly looking at the wrong league. Path of Exile 2 is currently running three completely separate economies — Standard, Runes of Aldur, and the new 0.5.5 Forbidden Rites event — and every trade tool defaults to a different one. This guide shows you the real, live Forbidden Rites currency values, why the Divine-to-Exalted ratio is climbing fast, and exactly how to point your price checker at the league you're actually playing so you stop misreading the market and losing currency on bad trades.

Quick answer: In the Forbidden Rites event league (0.5.5, live since Sept 4, 2026), 1 Divine Orb ≈ 270 Exalted Orbs and 1 Divine ≈ 11 Chaos Orbs as of September 10. If a tool shows you ~450 Ex per Divine you're reading the Runes of Aldur league; ~128 Ex means you're reading Standard. The three economies are fully independent and don't share prices — pick "Forbidden Rites" as the league in your trade site or overlay and the numbers snap back to reality.

Why your PoE2 trade prices look wrong right now

Since patch 0.5.5, Path of Exile 2 has three live currency economies at the same time, and they are completely walled off from one another. Per Grinding Gear Games, the Forbidden Rites event "runs on a fresh, separate economy" — existing Runes of Aldur and Standard characters and currency are not transferred in. Forbidden Rites and the ongoing Runes of Aldur league both run right up to Path of Exile 2's 1.0 full release on December 11, 2026 (when the event and Runes of Aldur fold away and Standard carries on), so for now all three price against completely independent markets.

That means a Divine Orb has three different prices right now depending on which league a tool is reading:

League1 Divine = ? Exalted1 Divine = ? ChaosWhat it is
Forbidden Rites (event, 0.5.5)~270 Ex~11 ChaosThe new fresh-start event you probably just rolled a character in
Runes of Aldur (0.5 permanent)~450 Ex~12 ChaosThe older, mature 0.5 league — deeper inflation
Standard~128 Ex~2 ChaosThe permanent forever-league; totally different supply

Live values pulled from poe2scout on September 10, 2026 — ratios move daily, always price-check live.

So when the top thread on r/PathOfExile2 this week panicked that "1 div was 80 ex a few days ago, yesterday 150, now it's 418," the original poster edited their post to admit the truth: "POE Overlay was showing me Standard prices." Their tool was pinned to the wrong economy. The real Forbidden Rites increase is real but far smaller — roughly a 70% climb in a day, not a 5x jump. The panic was a UI misread, not a market crash.

If you buy or sell currency, misreading the league is expensive: you'll dump Divines thinking they're worth a fortune, or overpay Exalted for an item priced against a completely different supply curve.

Which league is your tool actually reading?

Path of Exile 2 trade site results with the league selector on Standard and multiple Exalted Orb price listings The league dropdown at the top of every trade search decides which economy you're pricing against. Here it's set to Standard — if you're playing Forbidden Rites, every price on the page is from the wrong market. (Image: Mein-MMO)

There are three places a wrong-league price sneaks in. Fix all three:

The official trade site

Go to the PoE2 trade site and check the league dropdown at the top of the search page. It remembers your last selection, and because Forbidden Rites is brand new, plenty of players are still searching against Runes of Aldur out of habit. Set it to Forbidden Rites. This is the single source of truth — every other tool is estimating from this data.

Third-party price overlays (POE Overlay, Awakened PoE Trade, Sidekick, etc.)

Overlays cache a league setting in their config and often default to the previous league or to Standard after an update. This is the exact trap that started the "economy is broken" thread. Open your overlay's settings and set the league to Forbidden Rites explicitly — don't trust the auto-detect right after a new league launches.

Price trackers (poe.ninja, poe2scout)

Both sites have a league selector too. poe.ninja in particular carries deep historical Standard and old-league data, so if the selector isn't on Forbidden Rites you're reading a snapshot from a totally different economy. Pick the event league before you trust a single number.

The Divine-to-Exalted ratio explained (why it keeps climbing)

Early in any fresh PoE2 league the Divine-to-Exalted ratio rises over time, and Forbidden Rites is no exception. The mechanics behind it:

  • Exalted Orbs are the base currency and drop constantly. They're the "small bills" of the economy. As more players push maps, the supply of Exalted balloons.
  • Divine Orbs are the high-value store of wealth. They drop far less often, and demand for them rises as players start buying crafted, endgame gear.
  • PoE2 has fewer hard Divine sinks than PoE1. As players on Reddit note, in PoE2 you mostly spend Divines to reroll (divine) an item's values — a soft sink — rather than on mechanics that delete Divines outright. Fewer sinks + a currency used as the wealth benchmark = the Exalted price of a Divine keeps drifting up as the league matures.
  • GGG noticeably increased the base Divine Orb drop rate in the 0.5 "Return of the Ancients" update, which is part of why PoE2 Divine ratios don't behave like PoE1's — a buff players called "very noticeable" and one the studio is, as commenters put it, "still figuring out the balance" on.

Practically: a rising Div:Ex ratio means your raw Exalted are slowly losing value against Divines. If you're farming Exalted-denominated income and saving toward a Divine-priced item, that item gets more expensive in Exalted every day. Converting up to Divines early — or buying the Divines you need directly rather than grinding Exalted for weeks — is the standard hedge. You can buy PoE2 Divine Orbs or the full range of PoE2 currency at a fixed rate if you'd rather lock a price than gamble on the ratio.

Live Forbidden Rites currency snapshot (Sept 10, 2026)

The most-traded orbs in the Forbidden Rites event, priced in Exalted Orbs (the league base currency):

CurrencyValue (Exalted)Value (Divine)
Mirror of Kalandra~563,000 Ex~2,085 Div
Hinekora's Lock~94,760 Ex~350 Div
Fracturing Orb~2,330 Ex~8.6 Div
Perfect Exalted Orb~456 Ex~1.7 Div
Divine Orb~270 Ex1 Div
Orb of Annulment~141 Ex~0.5 Div
Greater Chaos Orb~71 Ex~0.26 Div
Chaos Orb~24 Ex~0.09 Div
Vaal Orb~2 Ex

Source: poe2scout, Forbidden Rites league, first pulled September 10, 2026. Divine (~270 Ex) and the ~11 Chaos-to-Divine ratio are the live anchors; the high-end orbs (Mirror, Hinekora's Lock, Fracturing) trade in thin markets and swing hardest, so treat those as ballpark and verify live before any large trade.

Two things to read off this table. First, the Mirror sits north of 2,000 Divine in Forbidden Rites — not the 9,000+ Divine a Standard-pinned tool might show you, because Standard has years of accumulated wealth compressing its Divine value. Second, the Chaos Orb is worth ~11 to the Divine here (an official, live-confirmed ratio), versus roughly 60+ to the Divine in mature PoE1-style economies — another reason a wrong-league reading throws your crafting math off.

How to price-check safely in a fresh event economy

  • Set every tool to Forbidden Rites first, every session. Overlays reset; check the league before your first trade of the day.
  • Anchor on the Chaos:Divine and Exalt:Divine ratios, not raw numbers. Ratios tell you relative value even as the whole economy inflates.
  • In the first two weeks, prices swing hard. A "yesterday" price can be 50–70% off today. Re-check the live listing, don't trust a cached number.
  • Cross-check two sources for big buys. If poe2scout and the official trade site disagree wildly, one of them is on the wrong league.
  • Bulk-convert through the in-game Currency Exchange rather than manual whispers — it settles at the live league rate automatically. See our full PoE2 currency exchange guide for the mechanics.

If you'd rather skip the ratio anxiety entirely, buying currency at a fixed price removes the timing risk — grab PoE2 Divine Orbs, Exalted Orbs, or top up your whole stash from the PoE2 currency shop.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does my Divine Orb show a different price in every tool? Because PoE2 is running three separate economies right now — Standard, Runes of Aldur, and the Forbidden Rites event — and each tool may be pointed at a different one. A Divine is ~270 Exalted in Forbidden Rites, ~450 in Runes of Aldur, and ~128 in Standard as of Sept 10, 2026. Set every tool to the league you're playing (Forbidden Rites) and the numbers line up.

Is the PoE2 economy actually crashing in Forbidden Rites? No. The viral "1 div went from 80 to 418 Ex" claim came from a price overlay stuck on Standard, which the original poster later corrected. The real event-league Divine has climbed roughly 70% in a day — normal early-league inflation as Exalted supply outpaces Divine drops, not a crash.

How do I switch my price checker to the Forbidden Rites league? On the official trade site, use the league dropdown at the top of the search page. In overlays like POE Overlay, Awakened PoE Trade, or Sidekick, open settings and set the league manually — they frequently default to the previous league or Standard after a new event launches. On poe.ninja and poe2scout, pick the league from the selector before reading any value.

Why does the Divine-to-Exalted ratio keep going up? Exalted Orbs drop far more often than Divines and inflate the market as the league progresses, while Divines are the high-value wealth store with fewer hard sinks in PoE2. GGG also increased the base Divine Orb drop rate in the 0.5 update, so PoE2 ratios behave differently from PoE1. Net effect: your Exalted slowly lose value against Divines through the league.

Do Forbidden Rites and Runes of Aldur share the same market? No. They are fully independent leagues with separate characters, stashes, and economies, and they will both end when PoE2 1.0 launches on December 11, 2026. Currency and items do not move between them, so their prices can and do differ significantly.

Should I convert my Exalted to Divines now? If you're saving toward a Divine-priced item and the ratio is climbing, converting up (or buying Divines directly at a fixed rate) hedges against paying more Exalted later. If you're actively crafting and need the Exalted, hold them — just price everything against the live Forbidden Rites ratio, not a cached or wrong-league number.

Prices verified live against poe2scout (Forbidden Rites league) on September 10, 2026; league structure per Grinding Gear Games' 0.5.5 event announcement. Currency values are a snapshot in a volatile fresh economy — always price-check live before trading.
