Quick answer: The Pet Index in Steal An Egg is the collection book behind the blue Index button under Shop. Every standard biome has a collection of 8 different pets. Fill it to 8/8 and you unlock that biome's weapon: a bat for the first 9 biomes, the Katana for Cherry Blossom, the Titan Axe for Titan Temple, the Angelic Spear for Angels & Demons and the Forest Club for Enchanted Forest. On top of that, every new pet pays a one-time cash and Speed reward (Chicken gives $100 and +420 Speed). Duplicates, sizes and mutations don't count toward the 8, and Steal An Egg still has no codes.

Key Takeaways
- 8 pets per biome. Each world collection needs 8 different species. A second Chicken, a Huge Chicken or a mutated Chicken all count as one entry.
- Each collection unlocks a weapon. 9 biome bats get stronger tier by tier, then Katana (tier 10) and Titan Axe (tier 11). The two newest biomes give the Angelic Spear and the Forest Club.
- Every discovery pays. The datamined formula is 100× the pet's base income in cash plus a fixed Speed bonus, claimed in the Index (use Claim All).
- Special eggs have their own collections. Brainrot Egg or Monster Egg unlocks the Bee Gun. Extinction Egg or Luminous Egg unlocks the Technological Mine.
- No Halloween collection weapon yet. As of October 20, the 18 Halloween Dimension pets don't have a confirmed Index reward.
Steal An Egg is still the biggest experience on Roblox. Our live Roblox Games API pull on October 20, 2026 at 09:30 UTC showed 1,145,455 concurrent players, 8.82 billion visits and 8.29 million favorites. With that many players chasing the same pets, the Index is the cleanest checklist in the game. It tells you exactly which pets you're missing in each biome, and it pays you for filling it. Below is how it works, every collection and its reward, and the fastest order to complete them.
What is the Index in Steal An Egg?
The Index (the window is titled Pet Index in-game) is a per-biome collection log. You open it with the blue Index button directly under Shop on the left of your screen. A red badge on the button shows how many rewards you haven't claimed yet.
Each page shows one biome: its artwork on the left, 8 pet slots in the middle, a progress bar such as 1/8, and the collection's weapon reward at the end of that bar. Pets you haven't hatched yet appear as dark silhouettes marked ???, color-coded by rarity, so you can see what's missing before you know the name. The right-hand panel shows the selected pet's rarity and its one-time Rewards (cash and Speed), with a Claim! button. Along the bottom, Claim All collects every pending reward at once.
The fan site stealegg.com sums up the rule in one line: "Obtain all 8 different pets below and check 8/8 in the Index. Then equip the collection reward. Duplicates and mutations do not count as new species."
How do you complete an Index collection?
- Open the Index and pick the biome you're working on.
- Read the silhouettes. The slot color tells you the rarity you still need, so you know whether you're missing a Common or a Divine.
- Hatch one of each species. Steal eggs in that biome, carry them home and hatch them. Only the species matters: size and mutation are separate from the entry.
- Watch the counter hit 8/8.
- Equip the reward with the unlocked equipment button on that page.
- Claim the discovery rewards with Claim All so you don't leave cash and Speed sitting in the menu.
The hard part is never the first five pets. It's the last one or two, which are almost always the biome's Eternal or Divine. That's also why it pays to keep a speed reserve: a bigger, rarer egg slows you down on the run home, and the community wiki notes that having enough Speed to enter a biome "does not necessarily mean you have enough Speed to safely return with a large Egg." If you're short, our Speed guide covers the treadmill route.
What does each Index collection unlock?
These are the 13 biome collections and their rewards, in progression order. The Speed column for biomes 1–12 is the entry requirement from the community wiki's biome table; Enchanted Forest's 50B is the recommended Speed shown in-game, as reported by stealegg.com. Weapon unlocks come from stealegg.com's weapons directory (updated October 18, 2026).
| # | Biome | Speed to enter | Pets in collection | Collection reward |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Forest | None | 8 | Forest Bat |
| 2 | Lake | 900 | 8 | Lake Bat |
| 3 | Desert | 10K | 8 | Desert Bat |
| 4 | Jungle | 40K | 8 | Jungle Bat |
| 5 | Snow | 170K | 8 | Snow Bat |
| 6 | Volcano | 700K | 8 | Volcano Bat |
| 7 | Abyss Ocean | 2.5M | 8 | Abyss Ocean Bat |
| 8 | Prehistoric | 18M | 8 | Prehistoric Bat |
| 9 | Cosmic | 700M | 8 | Cosmic Bat |
| 10 | Cherry Blossom | 2.5B | 8 | Katana |
| 11 | Titan Temple | 7B | 8 | Titan Axe |
| 12 | Angels & Demons | 20B | see below | Angelic Spear |
| 13 | Enchanted Forest | ~50B (recommended) | 8 | Forest Club |
Speed numbers are community-documented and can move after updates, so treat them as targets, not exact gates.
Which 8 pets do you need in every biome?
Here's the full checklist for the 11 original biomes, lowest rarity first. Names and rarities come from the community wiki's pet data module and match the Index silhouettes. Copy the names exactly: the brainrot-style ones are spelled that way on purpose.
| Biome | The 8 pets (rarity) |
|---|---|
| Forest | Chicken (Common), Dog (Common), Bird (Uncommon), Burrowing Owl (Rare), Raccoon (Rare), Fox (Epic), Bear (Epic), Brr Brr Patapim (Legendary) |

| Titan Temple | Spideron (Legendary), Crustacia (Legendary), Bladehide (Mythic), Mantaris (Cosmic), Rhinotaur (Cosmic), Mutant Shark (Secret), Gorilla King (Eternal), Nightflame (Divine) |
Enchanted Forest (Update 7) also has 8 Index slots. stealegg.com lists them as Prism Gecko (Legendary), Petal Beetle (Mythic), Enchanted Bluejay (Mythic), Astral Jackalope (Cosmic), Spirit Panda (Cosmic), Starry Fox (Secret), Celestial Sunlion (Eternal) and Royal Skywhale (Divine). The puzzle pet Jitterbug sits outside those 8. Full details are in our Enchanted Forest pets guide.
Angels & Demons works differently. The biome swaps nightly between an Angels form and a Demons form, each with its own 8 pets, plus the fusion pets Equinox and Aetheron. stealegg.com's Angelic Spear page lists 20 pets, covering both sides, both fusions and the event pets Ring Guard and Ringlord, but the exact number the Angelic Spear counter needs isn't published. Plan to farm both forms. Our Aetheron fusion guide explains the two-player fusion if the counter turns out to need it.

What rewards do you get for each new pet?
Every first-time discovery pays twice: a cash lump sum and a permanent Speed bonus. The hero screenshot at the top shows the very first one, Chicken, paying $100 and +420 Speed.
The fan wiki stealanegg-wiki.com, which reads the game's configuration, says the cash reward is 100 times the pet's base income (an unmutated, normal-size copy, minimum $1). That matches what players see:
| Pet | Base income | Index cash reward | Speed reward |
|---|---|---|---|
| Chicken (Forest, Common) | $1/s | $100 | +420 |
| Brr Brr Patapim (Forest, Legendary) | $1.8K/s | $180K | +1K |
The formula is datamined, not developer-published, so treat higher-tier values as an estimate. It does mean the cash scales hard: a pet earning $1B/s, like the Cosmic Unicorn, would be worth a $100B one-time claim on the same formula. That's why it's worth opening the Index every time you hatch something new, even if you're about to sell or fuse it.
What do the special egg collections unlock?
Not every collection is a biome. Shop and event eggs have their own pages, and some of them pay out a weapon. stealegg.com, working from information supplied by its owner, says either collection in each pair is enough: "you do not need both." The datamining wiki is more cautious and only confirms that the special collections show a reward icon, so treat these unlocks as player-reported rather than guaranteed.
| Collection | Reward | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Brainrot Egg or Monster Egg | Bee Gun | Brainrot Egg has 6 pets |
| Extinction Egg or Luminous Egg | Technological Mine | Both eggs include rare variant re-rolls |
| Dr. Scramble Index | Dr. Scramble Sword | Requirement per stealegg, updated October 12, 2026 |
The Monster Egg was retired from the shop when the Luminous Egg arrived in Update 4, so for most players the Brainrot Egg is the realistic route to the Bee Gun. The Brainrot Egg's six pets are Tung Tung Sahur, Bananita Dolphinita, Belula Beluga, Mangolini Parrochini, Bomboclat Crocolat and Strawberry Elephant. The Brainrot and Monster Eggs are Robux shop eggs, and the Extinction and Luminous Eggs behind the Technological Mine are shop eggs too, so expect these special collections to cost more than time.
The weapons directory lists 23 weapons in total. Apart from the starting Bat, the rest come from quests and shops, not the Index: the Racing Bat (10,000 trophies in the Nitro Race shop), the Haunted Rod (a fishing tool from Echo's Halloween quest, with no combat stats), the Butterfly Net and Cricket's Banjo (Enchanted Forest secrets), and the Flyswatter (Monster Chests). The Scrambler is currently unobtainable because Experiment 13 left the game.
Which Index weapon is the best?
Your bat is what knocks players off you while you carry an egg home, so a better weapon matters on crowded servers. stealanegg-wiki.com pulled the configured Force, Duration and Range bonus for the world weapons from the game's controller settings. Each tier multiplies Force by exactly 1.1:
| Tier | Weapon | Force | Duration (s) | Range bonus |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Forest Bat | 35 | 0.50 | 0 |
| 3 | Desert Bat | 42.35 | 0.61 | 3.75 |
| 6 | Volcano Bat | 56.37 | 0.81 | 9.38 |
| 9 | Cosmic Bat | 75.03 | 1.07 | 15 |
| 10 | Katana | 82.53 | 1.18 | 16.88 |
| 11 | Titan Axe | 90.78 | 1.30 | 18.75 |
| 13 | Forest Club | 109.84 | 1.57 | 22.5 |
Tiers 1–11 are configuration values from September 2026, not a measured knockback distance. The Forest Club's stats were supplied to stealegg.com on October 10, 2026 rather than datamined, but they sit exactly on the same ×1.1 curve. That makes the Forest Club the strongest Index weapon with published stats, ahead of the Titan Axe. The Angelic Spear (tier 12) hasn't had its stats published yet. The Forest Club needs Celestial Sunlion and Royal Skywhale from Enchanted Forest (around 50B Speed); the Titan Axe is the more reachable option, needing Gorilla King (Eternal) and Nightflame (Divine) from Titan Temple behind a 7B Speed gate.
What's the fastest way to finish the Index?
- Go in progression order. Each completed early collection pays cash and Speed that push you to the next biome's gate. Skipping ahead to hunt one Divine stalls you.
- Claim as you go. The Speed bonuses stack, and unclaimed rewards don't help you on the treadmill.
- Target the missing silhouette, not the best pet. If the Index shows a missing Rare, steal the small Rare egg instead of gambling on a big one you'll drop.
- Server-hop for the last slot. Eggs reset roughly every in-game night, so if the egg you need isn't spawning, a fresh server is quicker than waiting.
- Don't count on mutations. An Enchanted or Spectral copy of a pet you already have adds nothing to the counter. Check our mutations list for what they do boost.
- Halloween pets are a separate hunt. The 18 Halloween Dimension pets (6 each in Graveyard, Haunted Swamp and Abandoned Manor) don't have a confirmed collection weapon yet. See our Halloween pets list for the odds.
If you'd rather know what each pet is worth than whether you have it, that's what our Steal An Egg pet value list is for.

FAQ
How many pets do you need to complete an index in Steal An Egg? Eight different pets per standard biome. The counter on each Index page fills from 0/8 to 8/8, and duplicates, sizes and mutations of a pet you already have don't add to it.
What do you get for completing the Index in Steal An Egg? A weapon for each biome: Forest through Cosmic give a bat each, Cherry Blossom gives the Katana, Titan Temple the Titan Axe, Angels & Demons the Angelic Spear and Enchanted Forest the Forest Club. Every individual pet discovery also pays cash and Speed.
Where is the Index button in Steal An Egg? It's the blue Index button directly under Shop on the left side of the screen. A red number on it shows how many rewards are waiting to be claimed.
Do mutated pets count for the Steal An Egg Index? No. The Index tracks species, so a mutated or bigger copy of a pet you've already discovered doesn't count as a new entry.
Is there a Halloween index in Steal An Egg? Not one with a confirmed reward. The Halloween Dimension added 18 biome pets on October 17, 2026, but as of October 20 no Halloween collection weapon is listed. We'll update this page if Part 2 adds one.
What is the best weapon from the Steal An Egg Index? The Forest Club from the Enchanted Forest collection has the highest published Force (109.84, vs 90.78 for the Titan Axe and 35 for the Forest Bat). The Angelic Spear's stats haven't been published yet.
Are there Steal An Egg codes for Index rewards? No. Steal An Egg has never had a code system, so any site offering codes for free pets or weapons is fake.
