Escape from Tarkov 1.1.5.0 Update: Lighthouse Rework, the Lightkeeper Task Chain & Everything Coming in September (2026)

Battlestate Games dropped its 2026 roadmap on August 27, and the headline for right now is update 1.1.5.0 — landing in September with a full Lighthouse map rework and a reworked Lightkeeper task chain. If you have been putting off the Lightkeeper grind or you farm Lighthouse for roubles, this is the patch that changes your plan.

Here is exactly what is confirmed, what BSG has not said yet, how it reshapes the Kord Breach (Season 1) money and quest meta, and what you should do before the update goes live.

Quick answer: Tarkov 1.1.5.0 arrives in September 2026 and is a Season 1 (1.1.x) content patch built around two things: a Lighthouse map overhaul and a rework of Lightkeeper's task chain. BSG has confirmed the what, not the granular patch notes — the roadmap is labelled "preliminary," so specific spawn, loot and task numbers can still shift. After 1.1.5.0, the roadmap runs through a PvE-focused 1.2.0.0 (prestige + raid reconnection, late September/October), a Unity 6 engine upgrade and a Halloween event in October, and Season 2 (patch 1.4.0.0) in December with the new boss Povodyr, the FAMAS and G3, and a new location, End of the Line.

What is Tarkov update 1.1.5.0?

1.1.5.0 is the next major patch on the current Season 1 "Kord Breach" branch (the 1.1.x line). It was revealed as the first stop on Battlestate's 2026 roadmap, published to social channels on August 27 with five major updates promised before year-end.

The patch is bigger than a typical mid-season drop. As Forbes' Mike Stubbs put it, the update is "surprisingly large considering the last major patch was just a few weeks back." Two features carry it:

  • A Lighthouse map rework — a ground-up pass on one of the game's most divisive maps.
  • A Lightkeeper task chain rework — changes to the quest line that gates access to the hidden Lightkeeper trader.

The timing lands close to the start of September. Treat the exact day as a moving target until BSG posts the pre-patch notes: the roadmap is explicitly preliminary, and Battlestate has said additional, unannounced events will run across the same window.

What's changing in the Lighthouse rework?

The causeway to the Lightkeeper island on Lighthouse — the map and its task flow are being reworked in 1.1.5.0

Lighthouse is the map players love to hate. Between the Rogue faction dug into the water treatment plant, the automatic gun emplacements covering the main road, the shoreline minefield, and sniper sightlines that punish every open crossing, it has long been the map most in need of attention. The 1.1.5.0 rework targets exactly that friction.

Here is what to expect based on BSG's teasers and the roadmap framing:

  • New and reshaped points of interest. Nikita teased the rework with a set of preview images pointing at fresh POIs and reworked areas of the map.
  • Task flow overhaul. The map's quests are being "rejigged" — expect changed objective locations and requirements alongside the Lightkeeper changes below.
  • Balance targets: enemy/Rogue placement, loot distribution, and the map's worst frustration points (the open main road, the mines, the sniper lanes) are the stated focus.

The reason the community is invested: Lighthouse has more structural problems than any other map in the rotation. The pain points a rework needs to address are well known:

  • The main road death funnel. The central road is covered by automatic gun emplacements and Rogue snipers, forcing players into predictable, punishing routes.
  • The minefield to the island. Reaching Lightkeeper's compound means threading a shoreline minefield — one wrong step ends the raid instantly.
  • Rogue aggression. The Rogues at the water treatment plant out-range and out-gear most players, gating the map's best loot behind a mini-boss faction.
  • Extract scarcity for PMCs. Lighthouse has historically been stingy with reliable PMC extracts, punishing players who over-extend.

If BSG lands even half of these, Lighthouse goes from "avoid unless questing" to a genuine daily-driver money map.

What BSG has NOT confirmed: exact new loot tables, precise Rogue spawn changes, or which tasks move where. Anyone posting "confirmed Lighthouse loot values" right now is guessing. We will update this guide the moment the official 1.1.5.0 patch notes land on escapefromtarkov.com.

If you run Lighthouse purely for money, your current routes still work until the patch drops — see our Lighthouse money guide for the loot rooms and extracts that are live today.

Will the rework reset my quests or progress?

This is the question flooding r/EscapefromTarkov right now, and the honest answer is: partly, and only for affected tasks. Map reworks in Tarkov do not wipe your account — your level, stash, trader standing and Kappa progress stay. But when a map's geometry changes, tasks tied to specific locations (place a marker here, kill X in this building, reach this extract) get re-pointed or replaced, and any of those you had in progress but not turned in may need to be redone against the new layout. The safe move is to turn in every completable Lighthouse/Lightkeeper task before the patch, and leave the ones you cannot finish rather than starting them fresh.

The Lightkeeper task chain rework — why it matters

The Lightkeeper — the hidden trader whose task chain is being reworked in 1.1.5.0

Lightkeeper is the hidden trader who sits on the island at the far north of Lighthouse, past the minefield and the transmitter. Reaching him is one of the longest gates in the game: you work through the Network Provider chain, sort out access to the island, and only then unlock his personal line of tasks — many of which feed the endgame and, historically, the road toward Kappa-tier progression.

That is precisely the chain 1.1.5.0 is reworking. Because Season 1 already reshuffled the task tree in the 1.1.0 rework, the Lightkeeper path is a moving target — so do not treat any pre-patch task walkthrough as final. Once the new chain is live we will map every step; until then, the smart play is to bank the prerequisites you know carry over (see the prep section below).

Why players care: the Lightkeeper line is heavily time-gated and item-gated — it eats find-in-raid items, trader loyalty, and hours. It is the single biggest reason people buy a Kappa & quest boost: the reward is huge, but the grind is brutal, and a patch that reworks it resets everyone's progress plan. If you were 60% through the old chain, budget time to re-verify what still counts.

The full 2026 roadmap after 1.1.5.0

1.1.5.0 is the opener. Here is the confirmed sequence for the rest of the year so you can plan your wipe:

UpdateWindowHeadline content
1.1.5.0SeptemberLighthouse rework, Lightkeeper task chain rework
1.2.0.0Late Sept / early OctPvE focus: prestige system, bot spawn + AI overhaul, raid reconnection
Unity 6 + HalloweenOctoberUnity 6 engine upgrade (visuals + performance), updated vegetation, Halloween event (biohazard tease)
1.4.0.0 — Season 2DecemberNew boss Povodyr, FAMAS + G3 weapons, new map End of the Line, plus QoL: ally healing/knockdown, first-person mag loading, container gear presets, simplified GPS

A few numbers worth pinning:

  • Prestige is getting more accessible in the early tiers. Under the reworked system, Prestige 4 becomes reachable at level 40 with level 15 Endurance and Strength — far lower than before — while the top prestige levels stay punishing. That makes leveling to ~40 with respectable physical skills a genuine goal this season.
  • Season 2 lands in December (1.4.0.0), signalling a return to Tarkov's traditional summer/holiday wipe rhythm.
  • Raid reconnection finally arrives in 1.2.0.0 — reconnect after a disconnect mid-raid, one of the most-requested fixes for years.

Everything on the roadmap is labelled preliminary. Content and timing can move; BSG has said as much.

How to prepare for the Lighthouse rework (do this before September)

You cannot pre-do a reworked quest chain, but you can remove every blocker that isn't going to change:

  • Bank your trader loyalty. Lightkeeper prerequisites lean on trader levels; get to LL3–LL4 on the key traders now so you are not gated when the new chain opens. Our trader loyalty guide has the fastest path.
  • Stockpile likely find-in-raid items. Lightkeeper tasks are notorious item sinks. Hoard high-value FiR quest staples in your stash so you are ready when requirements are revealed.
  • Push level and physical skills toward the prestige threshold. With Prestige 4 opening at level 40 / 15 End+Str, leveling now pays double: it clears Lightkeeper prerequisites and sets up the 1.2.0.0 prestige goal. See the Season 1 leveling guide.
  • Clear the quest backlog that still counts. The Season 1 task rework already redrew the tree; finishing the tasks that feed Lightkeeper/Kappa now means less to redo after 1.1.5.0. Cross-check against the Collector/Kappa requirements.
  • Keep a rouble buffer. Reworks mean re-gearing for a fresh map layout. Have cash on hand so you can test the new Lighthouse without going broke.

FAQ

When does Tarkov 1.1.5.0 release? BSG's 2026 roadmap (announced August 27) puts 1.1.5.0 in September 2026, close to the start of the month. The roadmap is preliminary, so watch escapefromtarkov.com for the exact date and pre-patch notes.

What is in the Tarkov 1.1.5.0 update? Two headline features: a Lighthouse map rework (new/reshaped POIs, rebalanced enemy and loot placement, reworked task flow) and a rework of Lightkeeper's task chain. Granular patch notes have not been published yet.

Is the Lightkeeper questline changing? Yes — the Lightkeeper task chain is one of the two main features of 1.1.5.0. Because Season 1 already reworked the task tree, treat any current Lightkeeper walkthrough as provisional until the patch is live.

What comes after 1.1.5.0? Update 1.2.0.0 (late September/October) adds the PvE prestige system, a bot AI overhaul and raid reconnection; October brings a Unity 6 engine upgrade and a Halloween event; Season 2 (1.4.0.0) arrives in December with boss Povodyr, the FAMAS and G3, and the End of the Line map.

Should I grind Lighthouse now or wait? Farm it for roubles now if that is your income map — current routes are unchanged until the patch. But do not start the old Lightkeeper chain fresh right before a rework; instead clear prerequisites (trader loyalty, FiR items, level) that carry over.

How hard is the Lightkeeper unlock? It is one of the longest gates in the game — the Network Provider chain plus island access before his personal tasks even open, and his line is heavily time- and item-gated. That is why many players use a quest boost to skip it.
