Quick answer: where every Tarkov boss spawns in Season 1
In Season 1 (patch 1.1.5.0, "Kord Breach"), most bosses still live on their home map, but two of them — Reshala and Sanitar — now also spawn on the new Terminal map, so their old "guaranteed on one map" behavior is gone. Here is the fast lookup:
| Boss | Home map | Season 1 twist |
|---|---|---|
| Reshala | Customs | Now split across Customs + Terminal |
| Shturman | Woods | Unchanged home map |
| Sanitar | Shoreline | Now split across Shoreline + Terminal |
| Killa | Interchange | Home map + occasional Terminal |
| Glukhar | Reserve | Home map + occasional Terminal |
| Tagilla | Factory | Unchanged home map |
| Kaban | Streets of Tarkov | Unchanged home map |
| Kollontay | Streets / Ground Zero | Roams both |
| The Goons | Roaming (Customs, Woods, Shoreline, Lighthouse) | Move between 4 maps each server |
| Zryachiy | Lighthouse | Guards the water treatment island |
| Kord (Black Division / Wedge) | Terminal | Season 1 seasonal boss |
Spawn chances are tuned constantly by Battlestate Games and shift patch-to-patch (and even during events), so treat any single percentage as "current, not permanent." What does not change often is which map a boss belongs to — that is the durable knowledge this guide locks down for the current Kord Breach season.
Tired of dry-running the same map five times to catch one boss? Boss tasks are the slowest part of the Kappa grind. Our Tarkov Quest & Kappa Boost clears boss-kill tasks for you, and a Tarkov Raid Carry puts a pro in your squad to secure the kill and the extract.

How Season 1 changed boss spawns
Season 1 — internally patch 1.1.0, and now on 1.1.5.0 (the September 8, 2026 Lighthouse-rework patch) — is Escape from Tarkov's first seasonal run: instead of a classic full wipe, it uses a separate seasonal character on its own realm alongside the permanent PvP and PvE profiles. Battlestate Games named the season "Kord Breach" (it runs August 3 – December 7, 2026). Two things about that seasonal realm matter for boss hunting:
- Insurance is disabled on the seasonal realm. If you die going for a boss, your gear is gone — so budget your loadout accordingly.
- Boss spawns were re-tuned and partly relocated. The headline change is the Terminal map (the twelfth EFT location, added back in patch 1.0.0.2 on December 1, 2025). In Season 1, Terminal pulls in spawns that used to be locked to one map — most notably Reshala (previously ~75% on Customs alone) and Sanitar (previously Shoreline-only). Community spawn trackers currently list Terminal carrying a rotating slice of bosses at roughly 20% each — as one tracker puts it, Terminal now shows "Sanitar (20% spawn chance), Glukhar (20%), Killa (20%), Reshala (20%), and more" on a single map. The point is not the exact percentage — those move constantly — but that these bosses are no longer guaranteed to their old home map, so you can no longer camp one location and expect the kill.
The practical takeaway: if you are farming Reshala or Sanitar for a quest, you now have two maps to check per boss, and the per-map chance on each is lower than the old single-map number. Terminal also has its own seasonal boss, the Kord / Black Division commander line, tied to the seasonal storyline.
Every boss and its map (the durable list)
Below is the home-map assignment for each boss on the current Season 1 patch. Map names use the exact in-game labels: Customs, Woods, Shoreline, Interchange, Reserve, Factory, Streets of Tarkov, Ground Zero, Lighthouse, Terminal, Labs, Labyrinth.
Where does Reshala spawn?
Reshala is the Customs Scav boss and the classic first boss most players farm — he drops the Golden TT needed for the Gunsmith and Kappa chains. In Season 1 his spawn is split across Customs and Terminal, so check both if he is not on your Customs raid. Full loot table and guard breakdown in our Reshala boss guide.
Where does Sanitar spawn?
Sanitar is the Shoreline boss — the former surgeon who drops the medical items (Ophthalmoscope, medcase loot) that back several quests. Season 1 splits his spawn across Shoreline and Terminal. See the Sanitar boss guide for his three guards and the medical loot.
Where does Shturman spawn?
Shturman owns Woods, camping the Sawmill in the center of the map with two guards. He is one of the most reliable single-map farms in the game — his assignment did not change in Season 1, so if you need him for a quest you always know where to go. He holds the Sawmill keys and drops usable weapons, which makes Woods a low-variance boss run compared to the roaming or split bosses.
Where does Killa spawn?
Killa is the Interchange juggernaut — the highest-health humanoid boss, wrapped in heavy armor with an aggressive, relentless push. He roams the mall floor around the central stores (Kiba, OLI, Goshan) and does not sit still, so you fight him in the open rather than ambushing a fixed nest. His weapon drop is usually a high-rate-of-fire meta gun, which is why players farm him even outside quest requirements. See the Killa boss guide for the angles that survive his push.
Where does Glukhar spawn?
Glukhar rules Reserve with the largest guard retinue in the game — up to six followers — which makes him the single most dangerous boss to solo. He rotates between the train station, the barracks, and the RB bunker areas rather than holding one spot, so you have to clear his squad piecemeal. The payoff is Reserve's dense military loot on top of his own drops. Pair this with our Reserve map guide for the loot rooms and extract timings nearby.
Where does Tagilla spawn?
Tagilla is the Factory melee monster — a welding-mask helmet, a sledgehammer, and a habit of sprinting straight at gunfire. Factory is the smallest map in Tarkov, so he finds you within a minute or two of the raid starting, which actually makes him one of the fastest boss kills to farm once you know the safe angles. His helmet and armor are worth carrying out. The Tagilla boss guide covers the corners that stop his rush.
Where do Kaban and Kollontay spawn?
Kaban is the Streets of Tarkov boss, guarding the car dealership area with a heavy guard squad and an armored truck of loot. Kollontay, the ex-cop boss with the stun-baton, appears on Streets and Ground Zero. See the Kaban boss guide and the Streets money guide.
Where do The Goons spawn?
The Goons — Big Pipe, Birdeye, and Knight — are the only roaming boss group. Each server rolls them onto one of a rotating set of maps (Customs, Woods, Shoreline, and Lighthouse), so there is no fixed home map. Trackers exist for this exact reason. Our Goons boss guide covers every map they can appear on and how to bait the trio.
Where does Zryachiy spawn?
Zryachiy is the sniper boss guarding the Lighthouse water-treatment island, central to unlocking the Lightkeeper. The 1.1.5.0 Lighthouse rework changed the surrounding zone — see the Lighthouse rework guide and the Lightkeeper unlock path.
Who spawns on Terminal?
Terminal is the Season 1 hotspot: it has its own seasonal Kord / Black Division commander boss line, and it pulls in Reshala and Sanitar spawns from their home maps. That makes it the single most boss-dense map to run when you are stacking boss tasks. Learn the layout in our Terminal map guide.
Which bosses are worth farming for loot?
Map assignment tells you where to go; the drop tells you whether it's worth it. Some bosses are quest gates you kill once, others are repeatable money farms. Here is the quick priority read for the current season:
| Boss | Signature drop | Why farm |
|---|---|---|
| Reshala | Golden TT pistol | Gates Gunsmith + collector chains — a mandatory farm |
| Killa | Meta weapon + armor | High resale value, worth repeat runs |
| Glukhar | Weapons + Reserve loot | Best raw-value squad kill if you can bring backup |
| Sanitar | Medical items | Backs several medical quests; sells well |
| Kaban | Weapons + car-dealer loot | Streets economy anchor |
| The Goons | Meta guns + rare armor | High value, but you must track their map first |
The takeaway: Reshala is a mandatory farm because his Golden TT feeds the questline, while Killa, Glukhar and the Goons are the ones you return to for pure profit once the tasks are done. Because Season 1 spread Reshala across two maps, the mandatory farm is now the slowest one — which is exactly the boss task most players outsource.

How to prepare for a Season 1 boss run
Boss hunting on the seasonal realm is higher-stakes than the permanent game for one reason: insurance is disabled, so a death is a total kit loss with nothing returned. Three rules keep the math in your favor:
- Match the loadout to the boss, not the map. Killa and Tagilla shrug off low-penetration ammo — bring rounds that actually punch their armor class, or you feed them your kit. Glukhar means a full squad or don't bother.
- Bring the cheapest kit that can win. With no insurance, the correct loadout is the minimum that reliably kills the boss, not your best gear. Save the meta build for when the task is already done.
- Confirm the spawn before you commit. For split bosses (Reshala, Sanitar) and the roaming Goons, blind-running the wrong map is the number-one time sink in the boss grind. Check a live tracker, then queue.
Best maps to farm bosses for Kappa in Season 1
If your goal is the Kappa container (or the reworked collector requirements), boss kills are gating tasks. Here is the efficient route on the seasonal realm:
- Terminal first. It is the only map where you can catch Reshala or Sanitar plus the seasonal Black Division boss in one raid — the highest boss density per run. See the Season 1 Kappa guide for which boss kills the collector needs.
- Reserve for Glukhar when you need his kill, but bring a squad — his guard count makes solo attempts a coin flip.
- Customs for Reshala backup if Terminal didn't roll him. Between Customs and Terminal you have two maps to try for the same boss task.
- Chase the Goons on a tracker. Never blind-run a map hoping the trio spawned — check which map has them live, then commit.
Because insurance is off in Season 1, every failed boss run costs a full kit. This is exactly where a carry pays for itself: a Tarkov Raid Carry or the Quest & Kappa Boost turns a 5-raid boss-task grind into a single completed kill — no lost gear, no wasted evenings.

FAQ
Where does Reshala spawn in Tarkov Season 1? Reshala is the Customs Scav boss, but in Season 1 (patch 1.1.5.0) his spawn is split across Customs and the new Terminal map. He no longer sits at a single high chance on Customs alone, so check both maps if you are farming him for the Golden TT or a quest kill.
Which map has the most bosses in Season 1? Terminal. It carries its own seasonal Kord / Black Division boss and also pulls in Reshala and Sanitar spawns from their home maps, making it the densest boss map to run for Kappa boss tasks.
Do bosses still spawn on their old maps in Season 1? Yes — every boss still spawns most often on its original home map. The change is that Terminal now pulls in a rotating slice of them (Reshala and Sanitar most heavily, with Killa and Glukhar also appearing there on some servers), so those bosses are no longer guaranteed to a single map. Shturman (Woods), Tagilla (Factory) and Kaban (Streets) are the reliable single-map farms that did not change.
Where do the Goons spawn? The Goons (Big Pipe, Birdeye, Knight) roam and appear on one of Customs, Woods, Shoreline, or Lighthouse per server — never a fixed map. Use a live tracker to find which map they rolled onto before committing a raid.
Are the boss spawn percentages fixed? No. Battlestate Games re-tunes boss spawn chances frequently and boosts them during events, so any exact percentage is a snapshot. What stays reliable is which map each boss belongs to — which is why this guide focuses on locations, not a live percentage chart that goes stale within days.
Is insurance available when hunting bosses in Season 1? No — insurance is disabled on the Season 1 seasonal realm. Every failed boss run means losing your full kit, so budget cheaper loadouts or use a carry for the guaranteed kill.
