Ashes of Al'ar drops from Kael'thas Sunstrider, the final boss of Tempest Keep (The Eye) on 25-man. The drop rate is roughly 1.7-2% per kill and the raid sits on a weekly lockout, so it is one attempt every seven days. From $2,017.99.

There is no guaranteed run count, and we will not pretend otherwise. At about 2% a lockout the median farm lands near 34 weeks — half finish sooner, some take far longer, and a lucky few end on the first kill. That is exactly why this is priced as a run-until-it-lands farm and not as a single carry.

The Kael'thas skip added on Anniversary realms on 2026-08-27 sends the weekly run straight to Kael'thas instead of clearing The Eye first. Each attempt is a short trip, which is what keeps a farm this long affordable. The Tempest Keep attunement was removed in the same update, so no key chain is needed.

It is a flying mount. Ashes of Al'ar is a 280% flying phoenix, so Artisan Riding (300) is what flies it at full speed. Add it above for $85.49 if your character is still on Expert Riding.
