A TBC tailoring specialization is unlocked at level 60 with 350 Tailoring, from a trainer quest in Shattrath City's Lower City. Unlock is $18.44; a swap from a branch you already took is $27.44.
This page is the specialization only, not the skill grind. If your character is still climbing toward 350, the Tailoring Leveling 1-375 service is the one that gets you there — this order starts the moment 350 is on the character and ends with the branch learned.
The three branches and what each one pays out:
- Spellfire from Gidge Spellweaver — quest Becoming a Spellfire Tailor, the Nether-wraith Beacon used in Netherstorm. Unlocks Spellcloth and the epic Spellfire Robe, Gloves and Belt;
- Shadoweave from Andrion Darkspinner — quest Becoming a Shadoweave Tailor, the Crystal of Deep Shadows used at the Altar of Shadows in Shadowmoon Valley. Unlocks Shadowcloth and the Frozen Shadoweave Robe, Shoulders and Boots;
- Mooncloth from Nasmara Moonsong — quest Becoming a Mooncloth Tailor, finished at the Cenarion Refuge Moonwell in Zangarmarsh. Unlocks Primal Mooncloth and the Primal Mooncloth Robe, Shoulders and Belt.
Swapping is not free and it is not reversible for free either. Unlearning costs 150 gold at level 70, the new branch costs 20 gold to learn, and the quest has to be run again from scratch. Bind-on-pickup pieces already crafted under the old branch stop being craftable, so pick the branch your main actually raids in.
Turnaround is 24-48 hours on US realms, scheduled around your own play window in ET or PT. Piloted by default, Self-play Remote for 30% more, and Express or Super Express if you want it started the same day. EU realms are on the region switch above.
