Last checked: 2026-10-22 (Halloween 2026, Trick or Treat Part 1). Halloween is back in 99 Nights in the Forest. This year you collect costume pieces during the day, light up the Halloween houses, then knock at night for Candy that you spend in Happy's lobby shop. This guide covers how the costume Candy formula works, every shop price, all 13 Halloween 2026 badges with how many players actually have each one, and how long the event runs.
Quick answer: Light up a Halloween house, then knock on it at night while wearing costume pieces. Each piece is worth about 1 Candy per successful visit, and a full matching 4-piece set pays 8 Candy. Candy carries over between runs and is spent at Happy the Halloween Guy in the lobby. The most expensive Part 1 reward is the Vampire Alpha Wolf (200 Candy). The official Roblox listing for Trick or Treat Part 1 runs Oct 17, 17:00 UTC to Oct 24, 12:00 UTC, and more Halloween parts are expected after that. There are 13 Halloween badges. The rarest, 500 Treats, had been earned by only 81 players when we checked.
99 Nights in the Forest is one of the biggest games on Roblox right now. Our Roblox Games API pull on 2026-10-22 at 13:30 UTC showed 195,774 concurrent players, 30.19 billion visits and 10.01 million favorites. That put it at #5 on Roblox's Top Playing Now chart in the same pull, just behind RIVALS. On Oct 17, launch day, we logged 310,424 in an earlier pull.

When does the 99 Nights in the Forest Halloween event start and end?
The developer, Grandma's Favourite Games, posts each update as an official Roblox event. The listing for this one is titled "Trick or Treat — Part 1" and runs from 2026-10-17 17:00 UTC to 2026-10-24 12:00 UTC (Roblox virtual-events API). Two weeks earlier, the Helping Happy quest (Oct 3–10) set the scene. The Ram had scattered Happy the scarecrow around the map, and players had to rebuild him.
"Part 1" means more is coming. Last year's event came out in weekly parts (99 Nights Wiki Update Log):
| 2025 date | Halloween part | What it added |
|---|---|---|
| Oct 18, 2025 | Trick or Treat | Houses, Candy, Halloween Candles, Trick or Treater class |
| Oct 25, 2025 | Potion Making | Cauldron, Witch class |
| Nov 1, 2025 | The Hedge Maze | Carnival, Vampire class, Scythe |
| Nov 8, 2025 | Event removed | Most Halloween content deleted |
Several guides say the 2026 event ends October 31, but nothing official confirms that date yet. The 2025 event ran three weeks and closed on Nov 8. Updates arrive on Saturdays with the weekly Update Party at 1 PM EDT (17:00 UTC), so Saturday, Oct 24 is the most likely date for Part 2. Players on r/99nightsintheforest are already expecting new shop items that day. Spend Candy on anything you really want before the event ends. Halloween items marked with a clock icon are deleted when the event closes. Happy's shop dialogue spelled out the rule last year (quoted on the wiki): "If something has a Clock symbol it can only be used for the Halloween period then is deleted."
How does Trick or Treating work in 99 Nights in the Forest?
The core loop takes four steps, and the costume system is what makes 2026 different from last year:
- Collect costume pieces during the day. They drop from Costume Boxes and chests around the Halloween areas, and from wolves and Cultists. Each costume has 4 pieces.
- Light up a Halloween house. The decorated houses need a final candle before you're allowed to trick-or-treat. You can do this at any time of day.
- Knock at night. If you knock during the day, you're told to come back after dark. At night the owner decides whether you get a Treat or a Trick.
- Bank the Candy. Candy is saved to your account, not your run, so you can build up your balance over several games.
Two things players keep getting wrong:
- You don't need to pick up the Candy. It goes into your inventory by itself after a short delay, so walking away doesn't lose it. One r/99nightsintheforest player summed it up: "It's about a minute afterwards you'll see the counter go up. I made the same mistake too at first." Use that minute to head for the next house.
- Costume pieces get used up. A trick-or-treat visit consumes the outfit you're wearing, so you need fresh pieces for every visit. Players report that each player's costume is their own. Your teammate using the astronaut set doesn't use up yours.
Tricks are annoying but not fatal. Last year's trick list included dropping everything in your sack, a pumpkin covering your screen, a ball and chain, being turned into a frog, being flung away and inverted controls. Treats can be Candy, items or temporary boosts.
How much Candy do you get per house?
The formula is simple. It also explains why a full set matters so much:
| What you wear | Candy per successful visit |
|---|---|
| No costume | Usually a Trick, no normal Candy payout |
| 1 piece | ~1 Candy |
| 4 mismatched pieces | ~4 Candy |
| Full matching 4-piece set | 8 Candy (4 + 4-Candy set bonus) |
| Full set + max-level Fancy Dressed | Up to ~10 (player-reported) |
The per-piece and full-set numbers come from community testing (TheClick, Treyex Gaming) and match what players report on Reddit. The developer hasn't published an official Candy table, so treat these as close estimates, not exact values.
The 2026 costume themes reported so far are astronaut, werewolf, dinosaur, lobster, mummy and pirate, with four pieces each. Build a Costume Closet at camp early. It stores your pieces and lets you swap outfits. One player tip: open the costume window during the knock cutscene and put on a new set, so you're already dressed for the next house when it ends.
How many houses can you do per night? Players regularly hit 3–5 houses a night when the map spawns houses close together. A boost pad and the treats from the Spooky Crock Pot (Halloween foods restore hunger and give a short speed boost) make the run between doors much faster. With full sets, 5 houses a night is 40 Candy per night.
Is the Fancy Dressed class worth it?
Probably not, unless you're only farming Candy. Happy's shop lists Fancy Dressed for 30 Candy. Some guides call it a class and others call it "Fancy Dressed Clothes", so check the name in your game before you buy. Its perk boosts Candy from trick-or-treating, but players say the full bonus (up to +2 Candy per house) only kicks in at level 3, and it has no combat perks. One player put it bluntly: "It's not worth it. You're better off playing your main class." If you already main a strong combat class like Vampire, keep it and rely on full costume sets for your 8 Candy.
Halloween shop: every Part 1 reward and price
Happy the Halloween Guy runs the Candy shop in the lobby. Here are the Part 1 prices as of Oct 17 (TheClick shop table, checked against other guides):
| Reward | Candy | Type |
|---|---|---|
| Halloween Decor | 10 | Decoration |
| Spooky Crock Pot | 25 | Furniture (cooks Halloween treats) |
| Shrapnel Grenade | 30 | Equipment |
| Fancy Dressed | 30 | Class / cosmetic (see above) |
| Coffin Chair | 30 | Furniture |
| Pile of Skulls | 30 (some guides list 50) | Decoration |
| Spooky Braziers | 50 | Decoration |
| Standing Coffins | 80 | Furniture |
| Candy Corn Bunny | 80 | Halloween animal skin |
| Vampire Alpha Wolf | 200 | Halloween animal skin |
Buying everything costs 565 Candy. At 8 Candy per full-set visit, that's about 71 successful houses. The Vampire Alpha Wolf alone takes 25 full-set visits.
What to buy first: the Spooky Crock Pot (25) first, because the speed boosts from its treats mean more houses per night. After that, it's the Vampire Alpha Wolf if you want this year's rarest cosmetic. Leave the decorations for later unless you're going for the Spooky Decorating badge.
All 13 99 Nights in the Forest Halloween badges (and how rare they are)
The developer added 3 badges on Oct 17, then a second batch of 10 on Oct 19. The descriptions and award counts below come straight from the Roblox Badges API (pulled 2026-10-22). Sorted from most common to rarest:

| Triple Trick or Treating | Trick or treat with a full costume three times in a single night | 44,680 |
| Quad Trick or Treating | Trick or treat with a full costume four times in a single night | 18,434 |

| Candy Collecting 13 | Get 13 or more candy from a single trick or treat | 1,568 |
| 500 Treats | Trick or treat 500 times | 81 |
The first three badges pay 2, 2 and 5 Diamonds according to the 99 Nights Wiki badge list. Diamond rewards for the 10 newer badges haven't been documented yet.
Tips for the hard ones
- Carving / Carving 30: find pumpkins and take them to the carving station. 30 in one game means farming the pumpkin patches every day instead of carving now and then.
- Triple / Quad Trick or Treating: these come down to house layout. In the first night or two, scout the map with a boost pad. If houses spawn close together, save complete sets for one big night.
- Full Costuming: you need every full set before night 99. Fight wolves (players report they drop werewolf pieces) and open every Costume Box. Don't spend a complete set unless you've already used that set this run.
- Fancy Dressing: the badge text says it all: "Wear a secret fancy costume combination when trick or treating. Badge picture is unrelated." The developer hasn't revealed the combination, so it's a mixed set you have to discover.
- Trick or Treating Pro: you have to actually get Candy every night from night 1, and the most common way to fail is knocking on night 1 without a costume piece. Wear at least one piece every night. Players report that nights skipped with beds and by rescuing kids still count.
- Candy Collecting 13: you need 13+ Candy from one visit, above the normal 8 for a full set. Players report it needs a full matching set plus max-level Fancy Dressed, plus the bonus from late nights. Treat that as a community theory until the dev confirms it.
- 100 / 500 Treats: these count trick-or-treat visits, not Candy, and the requirement doesn't mention costumes. At around 50 visits a day, 500 takes about 10 days. The event might not stay up that long, which is why only 81 players have it.

What did the Helping Happy update (Oct 3) add?
The lead-in quest is over, but its badges are still listed. Helping Happy (Oct 3–10) put webs all over the map that only Happy's Scythe could clear. The scythe had three levels (15, 40 and 55 damage; one hit per web at level 3). Its three badges were Reaping (scythe to max level, 5 Diamonds), Strawcraft (rebuild Happy, 8 Diamonds) and Sweeping (destroy 200 webs, 8 Diamonds), and earning all three gave you the Happy's Cart furniture (wiki Badges). The scythe event has expired, so don't plan your Halloween runs around it.
Is 99 Nights in the Forest part of The Hollow?
Yes. The Hollow is Roblox's platform-wide Halloween 2026 event, and it started on Oct 22. The Roblox Wiki's The Hollow page and Sportskeeda both list 99 Nights in the Forest among the nine participating experiences, along with DOORS, Dandy's World, Piggy, The Mimic and others. Hollow quests and rewards are separate from the in-game Candy shop. Our The Hollow participating games guide covers that event.
Are there any Halloween codes in 99 Nights in the Forest?
Not yet. As of Oct 22 the community wiki Codes page lists no 2026 Halloween code. Last year's `happyhalloween` (10 Candy) is expired. The codes that still work give Diamonds, not Candy. Our 99 Nights in the Forest codes page has the current list and is updated as new codes come out.
Survive long enough to farm Candy
Candy runs fail when the base falls apart. Cultist raids often come at night, which is exactly when you're out knocking on doors. Do your trick-or-treating before you head back to a base full of Cultists, and carry a weapon that can hold off wolves at a doorstep. Our 99 Nights in the Forest best weapons tier list ranks every farmable option. The Infernal Sword and Infernal Crossbow are still the best picks for night runs.

FAQ
When does the 99 Nights in the Forest Halloween event end? The official Roblox listing for Trick or Treat Part 1 ends on Oct 24, 2026 at 12:00 UTC, and more Halloween parts are expected after that. Some guides give Oct 31 as the final date, but nothing official confirms it. The 2025 event ran until Nov 8. Spend Candy before the end, because clock-marked Halloween items get deleted.
How do you get Candy fast in 99 Nights in the Forest? Wear a full matching 4-piece costume (8 Candy per house instead of about 1 per piece), scout for houses that spawn close together, and visit 3–5 houses each night. Don't stop to pick up Candy. It reaches your inventory on its own after about a minute.
Do you have to wear a costume to trick-or-treat? You can knock without one, but you'll usually get a Trick instead of the normal Candy payout. One piece is enough to earn Candy, and a full matching set pays the most.
Does Candy reset after each run? No. Candy is saved to your account, so you can collect it over several games and spend it at Happy's shop in the lobby.
What is the rarest Halloween badge in 99 Nights in the Forest? 500 Treats (trick-or-treat 500 times) had only 81 holders on Oct 22. Candy Collecting 13 (1,568) and 100 Treats (2,330) are next.
Is the Vampire Alpha Wolf coming back? It's described as exclusive to the 2026 Halloween event, at 200 Candy. Expect it to leave when the event ends, so get it during the event if you want it.
