Quick answer (checked October 22, 2026): There are no working MM2 codes right now. The Murder Mystery 2 wiki's Codes page says it plainly: "There are no working codes right now." Every free public code Nikilis has released (17 on the wiki's list) gave a Common or Uncommon knife or a single pet, and all of them are discontinued. The newest one, COMB4T2 (Combat II knife), came out with the Season 1 update in May 2019. If you want free MM2 items this month, the real source is the Halloween Event 2026 (October 18 to November 16): a free battle pass tier, 13 Halloween Keys inside the Candy-funded pass, Candies from Daily Quests, exclusive Event Quest items and a top-100 leaderboard prize.
Murder Mystery 2 is one of the biggest games on Roblox at the moment. At 01:28 UTC on October 22, 2026, the Roblox Games API showed 663,679 players in-game, 31.55 billion lifetime visits and 24.60 million favorites, with the game last updated on October 21. Much of that is the Halloween event. A lot of those players are searching "MM2 codes" hoping for a free Godly. This page tells you what actually exists, what every old code gave, how redemption works if Nikilis ever drops a new one, and where the free items really are this month.

Are there any working MM2 codes in October 2026?
No. We checked the MM2 wiki and four independent code trackers on October 22, 2026, and none of them list a single working code:
| Source | Last update | What it says |
|---|---|---|
| MM2 Fandom wiki, Codes | Live page | "There are no working codes right now." |
| Dexerto | October 18, 2026 | No working codes, "which has been the case for quite some time" |
| VG247 | October 7, 2026 | "There are currently no working codes for Murder Mystery 2" |
| Sportskeeda | October 1, 2026 | No latest codes |
| Beebom | October 1, 2026 | No active codes, "the case for the entirety of 2025" |
One aggregator, Roblox Den, still marks five very old codes as "active": B4CK2SK00L, SK00L, D3NIS, SUB0 and HW2017. The wiki lists all five under Past Codes (Discontinued), and every other tracker agrees with it. Typing a dead code costs nothing, but even if one of them still went through, you'd get a Common knife or the 2017 Pumpkin pet, not a Godly.
The community has stopped expecting codes too. Under a "MM2 codes" thread on r/MurderMystery2 this week, the top reply was simply: "there hasn't been a code for several years." Another player joked that codes are now "more forgotten than the crafting system."
What were all the old MM2 codes?
Here is every code on the MM2 wiki's discontinued list, with the reward each one gave. All of them are expired.
| Code | Reward | Type | Rarity | Status |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| F1RSTC0D3 | Gifted | Knife | Uncommon | Expired |
| R3PT1L3 | Reptile | Knife | Common | Expired |
| 2015 | 2015 | Knife | Common | Expired |
| PATR1CK | Patrick | Knife | Common | Expired |
| B4CK2SK00L | Skool | Knife | Common | Expired |
| G003Y | Goo | Knife | Common | Expired |
| N3XTL3V3L | TNL | Knife | Common | Expired |
| N3ON | Neon | Knife | Common | Expired |
| INF3CT3D | Infected | Knife | Common | Expired |
| PR1SM | Prism | Knife | Common | Expired |
| AL3X | Alex | Knife | Common | Expired |
| C0RL | Corl | Knife | Common | Expired |
| D3NIS | Denis | Knife | Common | Expired |
| SK3TCH | Sketchy | Knife | Common | Expired |
| SUB0 | Sub | Knife | Common | Expired |
| HW2017 | Pumpkin (2017) | Pet | Common | Expired |
| COMB4T2 | Combat II | Knife | Common | Expired |
A few things about this list:
- No free public code ever gave a Godly. The best reward was Gifted, the only Uncommon. The rest were Common knives and one Common pet. Any video promising a free "Godly code" is not showing you a real MM2 code. (Godly merch promotions are a different thing, covered below.)
- Codes mixed numbers in for letters. 0 for O, 1 for I, 3 for E and 4 for A, which is why so many people typed them wrong. If a new code ever appears, copy it exactly.
- Some codes were tied to creators. Alex, Corl, Denis, Sketchy and Sub were based on the YouTuber group The Pals, according to the wiki. TNL came from "The Next Level", a Twitch series run by Roblox employees from 2014 to 2016.
- HW2017 is the only pet code. The Pumpkin pet was a code reward during the Halloween Event 2017. The wiki's source for it is a post on Nikilis's X account.
- Spellings differ between lists. Trackers such as Beebom and VG247 also show variants like N30N, G1FT3D, SK00L and TH3N3XTL3V3L. It doesn't matter now, because every variant is expired.
- These items still exist. Code items can't be redeemed anymore, but people who claimed them can still trade them, so they turn up in old inventories.
When was the last MM2 code released?
The last one was COMB4T2, which gave the Combat II knife. The wiki's Combat II page calls it "the very first Season 1 code", and the Codes page adds that it's the "first and only Season 1 code". Season 1 was the big interface and inventory overhaul that went live on May 25, 2019. So there has been no new Murder Mystery 2 code for more than seven years.
The wiki also notes that Combat II's release "was slightly delayed" because "code weapons were commonly duped." Nikilis has never publicly said why codes stopped after that. But MM2's free rewards have gone through events ever since: Candies, battle passes, event boxes and quests.
How do you redeem codes in Murder Mystery 2?
Code redemption is still in the game, even with nothing to redeem. If Nikilis ever releases a new code, here's how it would work:
- Open Murder Mystery 2 on Roblox and wait for the lobby to load.
- Open your Inventory from the menu on the left side of the screen.
- Find the code box in the inventory window (Roblox Den's guide shows it in the bottom right, labelled "Enter Code").
- Type or paste the code exactly, including any numbers that replace letters, and press Redeem.
Like most Roblox codes, each one could be claimed once per account. Old codes were posted on Nikilis's X account, and some were given out on JD's YouTube channel, according to the wiki. That's still where a new code would show up first. A code posted only on a random TikTok or a "codes" site with no link to Nikilis is a red flag.
How can you get free MM2 items in October 2026 instead?
Codes are dead, but the MM2 Halloween Event 2026 gives free players more than any code ever did. According to MM2's official Roblox event listing, it runs from October 18, 2026 at 3:00 PM EDT to November 16, 2026 at 18:00 UTC. During the event, Candies replace coins in every round. Here's what you can earn without spending Robux:
| Free source | What you get | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Battle pass tier 1 | Zombie Plush | Free, no Candies needed |
| Battle pass tiers 2 to 29 | Knives, guns, pets, effects and 13 Halloween Keys | 600 Candies per tier, 16,800 in total (no Robux needed) |
| Halloween Keys | 1 free 2026 Halloween Box each | 0.2% chance at the Godly Embersickle per box |
| Daily Quests | Extra Candies | The first MM2 Halloween with Daily Quests |
| Event Quests | Exclusive event items | Earned by completing Daily Quests |
| Halloween Bingo | Event rewards | Back for the first time since Easter 2023 |
| Battle pass tier 30 | Emberbow (Ancient gun) | 100,000 Candies on its own |
| Candy leaderboard | Blue Emberbow (Unique, untradeable) | Top 100 only |
The figures come from the MM2 wiki's Halloween Event 2026 page. We break down every tier and the box odds in our MM2 Halloween Event 2026 guide.
Some quick math. Once you've paid for the tiers with Candies, the 13 keys from the pass give you 13 box spins that cost nothing extra. At 0.2% per box, that works out to roughly a 2.6% chance of getting at least one Embersickle without spending a single Candy on boxes. That's low, but it's a real Godly chance, which no code has ever offered. Players are also adding up the battle pass daily rewards. One r/MurderMystery2 thread worked out that the dailies alone are enough to reach tier 29 and open a few boxes, but not to buy the 100,000-Candy Emberbow. That's a player's count, not an official number.
Two practical tips from this week's threads:
- Avoid bot-filled servers. Players report that public lobbies are full of autofarm bots. One player's fix is to open the server list and pick a server manually, sorting by "Recommended" or "Fewest", so you can actually collect Candies.
- Watch for verification prompts. Some players report that certain event purchases ask for a verified Roblox account. This hasn't been confirmed officially, so read the in-game prompt before you save up for a specific tier.

What about MM2 promo items that weren't codes?
The codes table above only covers free public codes. The wiki's Promos page lists a separate group of promotional items, and some of them were Godlies:
- Merch promotions: the Eternal, Eternal II, Eternal III, Eternal IV and Eternalcane Godly knives, plus the Rainbow knife and Rainbow Fire effect, came with purchases from Nikilis's official merch shop during limited-time promotions. Some of these did use redemption codes: Nikilis's post for Eternal II advertised an item code that came with the merch purchase. Those were paid, one-per-purchase codes, not free public ones.
- Cross-game rewards: the Asteroid gun and Cotton Candy knife were unlocked by buying them with in-game Cash in Space Tycoon.
- Creator promos: the JD knife came from JD's shop and giveaways.
None of these are running as an active promotion that we could find on October 22, 2026. The weapons can still be traded, which is why they turn up in value lists. Rainbow Fire is an effect and can't be obtained anymore. Our MM2 Godly value list covers the Eternal series and every other Godly.
Are "free MM2 Godly codes" real?
No. Every free public MM2 code is listed above, and none of them gave a Godly. When a video or website says it has a "free Godly code", it usually wants one of three things from you:
- Your Roblox login. Some sites ask you to "verify" your account on a page that isn't roblox.com. Never type your password anywhere except the official Roblox site or app.
- A script or "executor". Using one to exploit the game breaks the Roblox Terms of Use and can get your account banned, inventory included. Executor downloads are also a common way to spread malware.
- A "trust trade". Someone promises a Godly if you send your items first. Never do it. Use MM2's official trade window so both sides confirm at the same time. That stops the item-first scam, but it can't tell you whether the trade is fair.
If you're trading to build an inventory, check what your items are worth first. The MM2 Halloween value list covers every Halloween item from 2015 to 2026, and our Harvester value guide is a good example of how one popular Ancient moves. For trading safety on the wider Roblox platform, read how trading works on Roblox. MM2 values are community estimates, not official prices. Nikilis and Roblox don't publish a value list.
Will Nikilis add new MM2 codes?
Nothing has been announced. Seven years without a code is a strong sign that events have replaced codes as MM2's way of giving out free items. The Halloween 2026 event alone adds a free battle pass tier, 13 keys inside the pass, quests and a leaderboard. We re-check this page against the wiki and the trackers above every week, and we'll add a new code as soon as we can confirm one.
Don't want to wait for a code that may never come? You can pick up a ready-made Godly starter set instead of grinding the event.
FAQ
Are there any MM2 codes in October 2026? No. As of October 22, 2026, the MM2 wiki says "There are no working codes right now", and Dexerto, VG247, Sportskeeda and Beebom all list zero working codes. The last new code, COMB4T2, came out with the Season 1 update in May 2019.
What was the best MM2 code ever? Among free public codes, F1RSTC0D3, which gave the Gifted knife. It's the only Uncommon on the list; every other public code gave a Common knife or the Common 2017 Pumpkin pet. No free public code has ever given a Godly or a Chroma. Godlies like Eternal II only came with paid merch promotions.
Where do you put codes in Murder Mystery 2? In your Inventory. Open it from the left side of the screen, type the code into the code box (bottom right in Roblox Den's guide) and press Redeem. Each code could be claimed once per account, and all known codes are now expired.
Are there MM2 codes for the Halloween 2026 event? No event code has been announced. The only Halloween code MM2 ever had was HW2017 (Pumpkin pet) in 2017, and it has expired. This year's free Halloween rewards come from Candies, the battle pass and its 13 Halloween Keys, Daily and Event Quests, Bingo and the leaderboard.
Do MM2 codes that never expire exist? No. Every MM2 code on the wiki's list has been discontinued. Lists of "codes that never expire" are either recycled expired codes or fake.
How do you get a free Godly in MM2 without codes? The Halloween Event 2026 is your best chance. Use the 13 Halloween Keys you unlock with Candies in the battle pass to open the 2026 Halloween Box, which has a 0.2% chance at the Godly Embersickle per box. You can also trade up from the event's free knives and guns.
Applies to: Murder Mystery 2 (Nikilis), Halloween Event 2026 season, checked October 22, 2026. Player numbers are from a Roblox Games API pull at 01:28 UTC on October 22, 2026. The code list and promo items were verified against the MM2 Fandom pages for Codes, Promos, Combat II, Gifted, Pumpkin (2017) and Season 1 the same day, and the "no active codes" status against Dexerto, VG247, Sportskeeda and Beebom. This page is re-checked and refreshed in place every week.
