Which guns share ammo in Arena Breakout: Infinite? A player answered that this weekend with a chart of every gun sorted by caliber. It became one of the most upvoted posts of the week on r/ArenaBreakoutInfinite (original thread). One reply summed up why: "I have about 600 hours in and still wish this kind of chart were in the game." The game doesn't give you this list, so we've written it out below, checked it against Morefun's patch notes, and added what Season 7 changed.

Verified on November 3, 2026, during Season 7: Utopia (live since September 16, 2026), through the October 27 (UTC+0) Live Update. Gun and caliber pairs come from each gun's in-game caliber label and were cross-checked against Morefun's official Steam announcements for app 2073620 and the community .45 and 9×19 wiki lists. Morefun adds guns every season, so check this list again when Season 8 arrives.

⚡ TL;DR: guns by caliber in Arena Breakout: Infinite (Season 7)

81 guns, 14 calibers. 5.56×45 has the most guns (13), then 9×19 (12). .338 has only one, the SJ16.

New in Season 7: the A545 uses 5.45×39 and the AK-15SC uses 7.62×39 (official S7 notes).

Look-alikes that don't mix: 5.56×45, 5.45×39 and 5.8×42 are three separate ammo types. So are the four 7.62s (×25, ×39, ×51, ×54).

Ammo caps (S7): Normal allows T4 and below and Lockdown allows T5 and below.

Best stock to hold: 5.56×45 or 9×19. Each one feeds a dozen or more guns, so loose rounds are rarely wasted.

Which guns share ammo in Arena Breakout: Infinite?

Every gun that takes the same caliber can use any round of that caliber. The table lists all 14 calibers in Season 7. Gun names are written as the client's short labels show them.

That's 81 guns. The official Steam store page says the game has "75+ weapons", so the count fits. Cosmetic variants like the Halloween Sleepless Night AK-12 are skins on the same gun, so they don't add a row and they use the same ammo.

What did Season 7 change about guns and ammo?

Season 7 added two assault rifles, and each one went into a caliber family that already existed. Morefun's launch post, "Season 7 UTOPIA Arrives with Massive Rewards!" (Steam, September 15, 2026), says:

"The A545 assault rifle is a brand-new weapon with extremely high firepower and a high rate of fire, while the AK15SC is a new choice in the 7.62×39 caliber."

The detailed weapon notes in the same post confirm both calibers:

  • A545: "This successor to the AEK rifle series… Uses 5.45×39mm ammo." The AEK it's named after is in the 7.62×39 row, so the A545 can't use your AEK ammo. This is the trap new A545 players fall into most.
  • AK-15SC: "the folding-barrel variant of the AK-15… Uses 7.62×39mm caliber ammo." Your AKM, SKS and AEK stock works in it.

Other Season 7 changes that affect your ammo:

  • Mode-based ammo and gear caps. Normal allows T4 and below and Lockdown allows T5 and below. Those are the only two caps in the notes. Our ammo and gear cap explainer covers what that means for each mode.
  • 5.7×28 SS190 buff: Penetration went 41 → 42 and Armor Damage 18 → 19. That's a small boost for all four 5.7×28 guns at once.
  • UMP45 rate of fire 600 → 650. That makes the UMP45 a stronger way to use .45 ammo.
  • Season kits. The M110 got a binary trigger, the FAL a burst kit, the PCC9 full auto, and the MPX got a Vulcan barrel that Morefun says provides "flesh damage ammo branch options". Kits are "removed at the end of the season" and don't change which caliber a gun takes. See our season kits guide.
  • No more lucky penetration on Class V and VI armor. The S7 notes say Morefun "Removed the low-probability penetration effect of ammo against Class V and Class VI body armor and armored rigs. It now requires reducing the armor durability to a certain threshold before achieving consistent penetration." Against those vests, durability damage matters more than ever.

Which calibers look the same but don't share ammo?

Most "my ammo won't load" posts come from mixing up calibers that look alike. They are all different ammo types:

Two quick rules help. AK-looking does not mean 7.62×39. The AK12, AK-74N, AKS-74U and A545 are 5.45×39, and the AK-102 is 5.56×45. A "T" name doesn't tell you the caliber. The T191, T192, T951, U191, T88 and T03 use 5.8×42, but the T54, T79 and T85 use 7.62×25, and the T05 revolver uses 9×19.

How does Pierce Level work across calibers?

The caliber decides which guns a round fits. The round's Penetration stat decides whether it gets through armor. The community wiki's rule is that Pierce Level = Penetration ÷ 10, rounded down, so a Penetration 47 round is Pierce Level 4. Compare that with the target's armor Protection Level. Morefun has never published an official table for this, so treat it as a good rule of thumb rather than an exact formula.

Arena Breakout: Infinite Enemy Injuries screen: 5.45x39 BS with Penetration 52 against an IMTV Std. vest at Protection Level 5 and 6/64 durability

This post-death screen, posted by a player on November 1, shows it in practice:

  • Attacker's round: 5.45×39 BS, Penetration 52, Base Damage 40, Blunt trauma 2.
  • Victim's vest: IMTV Std., Protection Level 5, durability 6/64.
  • Result: the thorax went to 0/85 and the killing shot did 26 base damage.

The game's own tooltip on that screen explains the rest: "As durability falls, the armor's bulletproof capability also reduces. Remember to repair your armor regularly." A worn Level 5 vest gave little protection against a round of about the same level. That's why picking the right round matters more than picking the right gun. Our Pierce Level guide explains the full interaction, and Best Ammo (Season 7) ranks the rounds inside each caliber.

Which caliber should you stock up on?

Before you buy, think about how much use your spare rounds will get.

1. Pick a main caliber, not a main gun. If your loadouts change with the meta, store ammo for a caliber family. 5.56×45 covers 13 guns and 9×19 covers 12, so a stack of either almost always fits whatever you bring.

2. Keep a smaller second stack. 7.62×39 and 5.45×39 cover 7 and 6 guns. Both now include a new Season 7 rifle, so they're worth holding a few stacks of.

3. Treat small families as single-gun ammo. .338 only fits the SJ16. 9×39 only fits the VSS and AMB-17. 7.62×54 only fits the SVDS, Mosin and SVTU. Only buy these when you're running that gun, because a stack you can't load is wasted Koen. See Best Guns (Season 7) to choose the gun first.

4. Check the mode cap before a raid. With Normal limited to T4 and Lockdown to T5, a stack of high-class rounds may not be usable on cheap Normal runs. A wide caliber family has lower-tier rounds for every mode.

5. Know which rounds can't be protected. Since Season 6 (official "Season 6 Update Announcement", June 29, 2026), "Any magazines and the premium ammo below cannot be placed in Cases or Supplies Retrieval Devices":

  • Class VI: .338 AP, 7.62×54 SNB, 7.62×51 M61
  • Class VII: 7.62×54 7N37

The three smallest full-power families hold the rounds you can't keep safe. If you die with them, they're gone. The Secure Case guide covers what you can protect.

Are the low calibers still worth using?

Players in the thread disagree. Some want better 7.62×25 rounds ("I want t4 7.62x25") because they feel anything below T4 falls behind. Others say the pistol-caliber SMGs still have a place. Players report running the T85 and T79 with flesh-damage rounds in Covert Ops for leg shots, because those guns fire fast. That fits the limb-damage approach in our leg meta explainer. Treat it as player advice, not a tested result.

Season 6's ammo additions show Morefun is still adding to smaller calibers. The "Season 6 Update Announcement" added a Class IV .45 APWC, a Class IV 5.56×45 M855A2 and 12×70 Dragon's Breath. On a budget, our budget loadout guide builds around the cheaper families.
