"What are the best races for Kitsune, for PvP and outside of PvP?" That question was posted on r/bloxfruits this week. The reply was three words: "Angel and ghoul." That answer is mostly right, but it skips the part that matters. The best race in Blox Fruits depends on what you do all day, and on whether you can reach V4. A V3 Angel and a full V4 Angel play like two different races.
This guide ranks all seven races for PvP, grinding and sea events. It covers what V1 to V4 add for each one, how to get the three quest races (Ghoul, Cyborg and Draco), and what a full Race V4 really costs in Fragments and time.
Quick answer: The best race in Blox Fruits (October 2026) is Angel V4 for PvP and all-round play. Its King's Rule aura slows, drains and stuns nearby enemies, and the wiki rates it as having the highest damage per second of any race. Ghoul is the best pick for grinding and sustain thanks to Life Leech (25% of fighting-style damage healed back on players at V2). Draco is the best team and sea-event race. Shark is the safest beginner race (Water Body cuts damage taken by 65% for 5 seconds at V3). Rabbit is pure mobility. A new account rolls Human 62.5% or Rabbit, Shark or Angel at 12.5% each, and a reroll costs 3,000 Fragments or 90 Robux.
Race data in this guide comes from the Blox Fruits Fandom wiki (the Races, Race Awakening, Ancient One, Change Race and individual race pages, all pulled October 27, 2026). The live build is Update 30 (the "Magnet" update, released September 5, 2026). The Halloween 2026 event is due on Halloween (October 31), per the official Blox Bulletin #025. When we checked, Blox Fruits had 176,590 concurrent players on the Roblox Games API (universe 994732206, 13:25 UTC on October 27, 2026; last game update October 22).

What are the races in Blox Fruits?
Blox Fruits has seven races. Most give passive buffs from V1 (Human and Cyborg only start at V2), an active ability on T at V3, and a full transformation on Y at V4. Four are random spawn races. Three are quest races you unlock yourself.
| Race | How you get it | V3 ability | V4 title | Best at |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Human | Spawn (62.5%) or reroll | Last Resort | Berserker | Burst damage, one-shot combos |
| Rabbit | Spawn (12.5%) or reroll | Agility | Thunderbolt | Speed and escaping |
| Shark | Spawn (12.5%) or reroll | Water Body | Leviathan | Defense, sea, beginners |
| Angel | Spawn (12.5%) or reroll | Heavenly Blood | His Majesty | PvP, all-round |
| Ghoul | 100 Ectoplasm + Hellfire Torch | Heightened Senses | Nightwalker | Sustain, grinding, PvP |
| Cyborg | Cyborg Puzzle | Energy Core | Genesis | AoE, teamers, Instinct break |
| Draco | Dragon Wizard quest (Third Sea) | Primordial Reign | Primordial Guardian | Team support, sea events |
Two old names still show up in search: Mink is now Rabbit and Fish/Fishman is now Shark. Same races, new names.
Which race is best in Blox Fruits overall?
Here is the ranking we would use for an account that will eventually reach V4. It is our editorial call, based on what each race page on the wiki says it does (Human, Rabbit, Shark, Angel, Ghoul, Cyborg, Draco), not an official balance ranking.
| Tier | Race | Why |
|---|---|---|
| S | Angel | V4 King's Rule slows, damages, drains energy and stuns anyone who gets close. It can break combos and Instinct. Strong in PvP and good for grinding |
| S | Ghoul | Life Leech heals you on every fighting-style hit. V4 Domain Expansion blinds and slows enemies, cuts their healing and lowers your cooldowns |
| A | Draco | Longest V3 in the game (10 s). It buffs allies' damage and speed by 15% and slows enemies by 15%. V4 reflects damage (~33%, ~51% at Tier 2). Best in teams and at sea |
| A | Human | Last Resort adds up to 60% damage at low HP. V4 Limit Break rage meter goes to 150%. High ceiling, zero defense |
| B | Cyborg | Energy Core gives +30% defense and AoE lightning that breaks Instinct. Great against teamers, weaker in 1v1 |
| B | Shark | Highest raw defense early. V4 Leviathan's Armor blocks 85% of damage while it lasts. Lower damage and speed |
| C | Rabbit | Fastest race in the game, but the wiki calls it "mediocre" because it adds almost no damage, defense or healing |
Our pick: go Angel if you mainly PvP or bounty hunt. Go Ghoul if you grind and want to stay alive without thinking about it. Get Draco on top of either once you are deep in the Third Sea, because you can switch back to it for free.
What is the best race for PvP in Blox Fruits?
Angel V4 is the best PvP race. The Blox Fruits wiki calls it "one of the strongest races for PvP, boasting the highest damage per second among all races, while also being capable of breaking Instinct and stunning opponents." That is the clearest statement the wiki makes about any race. Its V4 has two gears:
- King's Rule: an aura around you that slows enemies, deals damage, drains energy and distorts their screen. Get too close and they get stunned. Tier 2 makes all of this stronger.
- Prince of the Skies: glide by holding dash and fly by holding jump. Tier 2 makes it faster.
Ghoul is the strong second pick. V2 Life Leech heals you for 25% of the damage you deal to players with a fighting style. V4 Blood Siphon adds ~20% to ~30% leech on players (up to ~55% with a fighting style at Tier 2). Its V4 transform also resets every skill that has less than 40% cooldown left.
Human V4 is the high-skill pick. Psycho gives Flash Step three charges with invisibility. At Tier 2 your moves can't be cancelled by damage, which the wiki notes is very useful against tick damage like Cyborg's.
If you play Kitsune (see our Blox Fruits Kitsune guide), the Reddit answer holds up. Angel and Ghoul both cover what Kitsune lacks. Rabbit plus Kitsune is the speed build, but you give up the damage and healing.
What is the best race for grinding and leveling?
For pure grinding, Ghoul and Angel lead again, with Cyborg close behind.
- Ghoul heals back 5% of damage dealt to NPCs at V2. Its V4 Blood Siphon raises that to ~10%, and ~17% at Tier 2. You almost never need to stop and heal.
- Angel V3 Heavenly Blood heals about 14% of your max HP and adds 15% defense for 4.5 seconds. The wiki also calls the V4 "very good for grinding."
- Cyborg V3 Energy Core adds 30% defense and AoE lightning ticks that scale with your level. At Lv. 2800 that is about 6,006 damage per use (2,800 × 0.065 × 33 ticks), which clears packs of mobs.
Human is fine for grinding but has no sustain. Rabbit makes you fast between quest islands and nothing else.
If you're still choosing a fruit to grind with, check our Blox Fruits best fruits tier list. Most grinders use Buddha, which pairs well with a Ghoul or Angel race. Our Buddha fruit guide covers why.
What is the best race for sea events?
Draco for groups, Shark for solo players.
The wiki lists Draco as great for "PvP, teams, PvE, and sea events." Its V3 Primordial Reign gives you and your allies 15% more damage and speed for 10 seconds, the longest V3 duration in the game. Its V4 gears reflect damage back at enemies in its aura (Thorn Mail, about 33%, or 51% at Tier 2, plus a defense buff for allies) or add exploding orbs after four hits (Cometic Field).
Shark is the solo pick for the sea. V1 cuts damage taken in water, and V2 removes it completely for fruit users. V3 Water Body cuts all damage taken by 65% for 5 seconds. The wiki recommends it for players doing sea events for the first time without a Leviathan Shield. V4 Leviathan's Armor gives a shield that blocks 85% of incoming damage and refills as you deal damage.
One warning for Draco: its awakening creates a big sphere with heavy effects. The wiki notes that this can lag low-end devices.
How do you get each race in Blox Fruits?
Spawn races (Human, Rabbit, Shark, Angel). You get one at random the first time you join. Odds are Human 62.5% and 12.5% each for Rabbit, Shark and Angel. You can reroll in three ways:
- Give 3,000 Fragments to tort (Second and Third Sea only).
- Buy Change Race for 90 Robux in the Shop. It can't be gifted.
- Buy a reroll during events. In past Halloween events the Death King sold one for 300 Bones. The Christmas and Valentine's events also sold one.
A reroll never gives your current race. From a spawn race, you get each of the other three at 1/3. From Ghoul, Cyborg or Draco it's 1/4 each. The wiki says the 90-Robux product is only really worth it in the First Sea, where Fragment rerolls aren't available.
Quest races (Ghoul, Cyborg, Draco). No reroll can give you these:
- Ghoul: pay 100 Ectoplasm and a Hellfire Torch to the Experimic. Switching back later is free.
- Cyborg: finish the Cyborg Puzzle. Switching back costs 2,500 Fragments each time.
- Draco: Third Sea only. Reach 500 mastery on Dragon Talon, get every Dojo Belt, use Dragon Tether to grab a Dragon Egg on Prehistoric Island, and trade it to the Dragon Wizard. Switching back is free.
You keep each race's version when you switch. If you got Angel to V3 and then switched to Human, you still have V3 Angel when you switch back.

How do you upgrade your race to V2, V3 and V4?
V2: talk to the Alchemist in the Green Zone (Second Sea) and do the Flower Quest. You need Lv. 850 and the Colosseum Quest done. It costs 500,000 Beli. Draco is different: Lv. 2000, five Fire Flowers and 1,000,000 Beli to the Dragon Wizard.
V3: talk to Arowe in the hidden room on Diamond's plateau. You need V2, Lv. 1000, Don Swan defeated and 2,000,000 Beli. Each race gets its own quest:
| Race | V3 quest / quest giver |
|---|---|
| Human | Arowe: defeat Diamond, Jeremy and Orbitus |
| Rabbit | Arowe: collect 30 chests |
| Shark | Arowe: kill a naturally spawned Sea Beast (summoned ones don't count) |
| Angel | Arowe: kill another player who is an Angel |
| Ghoul | Arowe: kill 5 players (Lv. 700+) in the Second Sea |
| Cyborg | Arowe: show him any physical fruit (he doesn't take it) |
| Draco | Dragon Wizard: finish the Horned Man quest, defeat a Terrorshark for the Dragon Wizard (deal at least 10% damage), then pay 3,000,000 Beli |
V4 (Race Awakening): this is the big one, and it's Third Sea only. To unlock the trials you need:
- Your race at V3
- The Sealed King quest done (beat rip_indra True Form)
- A Mirror Fractal from the Dough King, used on Mirage Island at night to make the Blue Gear appear
- The hidden lever in the Temple of Time (reach it via the Mysterious Force on top of the Great Tree)
To start a trial you need a Full Moon and three or more players, each on a different V3+ race. Every player clears their own race's trial, then all of you fight. The last one standing gets to the Ancient Clock and unlocks V4. Draco uses its own puzzle instead, tied to Freezing Hydra Island, Prehistoric Island and the Volcano Event.
How much does a full Race V4 cost?
For the six standard races, each extra gear after the first awakening needs a training step from the Ancient One, paid in Fragments. Draco goes through its own route instead. Training means using V4 for a set time, and the bar has to run out naturally.
| Step | Training | Fragments |
|---|---|---|
| Trial 1 | 3 minutes in V4 | 1,000 |
| Trial 2 | 5 minutes in V4 | 1,500 |
| Trial 3 | 3 training levels | 2,000 + 2,250 + 2,500 = 6,750 |
| Trial 4 | 5 training levels | 3,000 + 3,250 + 3,500 + 3,750 + 4,000 = 17,500 |
| Total per race | 26,750 |
The wiki puts it simply: "It costs 187,250 Fragments to fully awaken V4 for every race." That's 26,750 × 7. You don't need every race, though. One fully awakened main race is enough for most players.
The real cost is time, not Fragments. You have to wait for a Full Moon, find two other players on different races, beat rip_indra and the Dough King, and win a Mirage Island spawn. That is many hours of Third Sea grinding on a fresh account. If you haven't reached the Third Sea yet, our Blox Fruits level 3000 guide covers the fastest route.
Short on time for the V4 grind? Get the fruit you'll actually fight with, then spend your hours on the trials.
Should you switch race or stay on your spawn race?
Use this simple rule:
- Under Second Sea: don't spend Robux on a reroll. Level up first. Your spawn race barely matters below V2.
- Second Sea, no V3 yet: reroll with 3,000 Fragments at tort until you hit Angel. If you mostly sail, Shark is fine too.
- Mid-Second Sea with Ectoplasm: get Ghoul. It's yours for free switching forever.
- Third Sea: pick one main race to take to full V4 (Angel or Ghoul), then add Draco for sea events and group play.
Remember that a reroll never gives your own race back. If you're on Human and want Angel, each roll is a 1-in-3 shot.
Will the Halloween 2026 update change races?
Nothing official yet. The Blox Bulletin #025 (October 17, 2026) teases the Harvest Moon, trick-or-treat doors, a Potion Witch with two new brews and a Spooky Gacha for Spooky Tokens. None of the teased features is a new race or a race rework. In past Halloween events the Death King sold a race reroll for 300 Bones, so check his shop once the event goes live on October 31. It is not confirmed for 2026 yet.
There is also a wiki rumour of a future "Snake" race, based on the snake symbols at Tiki Outpost and Hydra Island. It's fan speculation, not a confirmed feature.
FAQ
What is the best race in Blox Fruits right now? Angel V4 for PvP and all-round play, and Ghoul for grinding and sustain. Draco is the best support race for teams and sea events. This ranking is for Update 30 (October 2026).
What are the odds of getting each race at spawn? Human 62.5%, and Rabbit, Shark and Angel 12.5% each. Ghoul, Cyborg and Draco can only be unlocked with quests.
How much does a race reroll cost in Blox Fruits? 3,000 Fragments from tort in the Second or Third Sea, or 90 Robux for Change Race in the Shop. Past Halloween events also sold one for 300 Bones from the Death King.
Do I lose my V3 if I change race? No. Each race keeps its own version. If you switch away from a V3 Angel and later roll Angel again, it's still V3.
Is Rabbit a bad race in Blox Fruits? It's the fastest race, but the wiki calls it "mediocre" because it adds almost no damage, defense or healing. Take it only if you value speed above everything.
Do I need two friends to get Race V4? You need at least three players on three different V3+ races in the trial room during a Full Moon. They don't have to be friends. Many players team up in public servers or Discord.
Can Draco do the normal V4 trials? No. Draco has its own Race Awakening puzzle, and the Ancient One tells Draco players "Your race treads a different path to power."
