TL;DR: Is the Diablo 4 crafted Mythic limit removed after Patch 3.1.1a? Yes. The special one-crafted-Mythic equipment restriction is gone. You can now equip multiple crafted Mythics in different gear slots. A Horadric Cube upgrade costs 1 Item Power 850+ Unique and 4 Pandemonium Fragments. Corrupted Reaper can drop up to 2 Fragments, and every repeatable Glints of Hope reward guarantees 1. As of the July 21 hotfix, a Mythic Tribute of Armaments guarantees a Mythic item on Torment XII. Torment X only gets a greatly increased chance.
Season 14 launched Mythic Uniques 3.0 with an odd contradiction. Blizzard made every Unique eligible to become Mythic, then let you equip only one crafted Mythic. Patch 3.1.1a killed that restriction. Good riddance. The endgame chase now makes more sense, and Fragments still matter after your first worthwhile craft.
This guide covers the live July 22 rules, exact crafting math, the new Rupture-to-Reaper farm, the right time to spend a Mythic Tribute, and the mistakes that can burn rare materials for nothing.

What did Patch 3.1.1a actually remove?
Blizzard summed up the cap removal in one sentence: “Removed the ‘one-crafted Mythic’ equipment restriction on Mythic items.” (Blizzard, Patch 3.1.1a)
The equipment restriction is gone. That's it. Cube crafts aren't free or deterministic, and they still obey normal gear slots. You can wear several crafted Mythics at once when they fit compatible slots, whether they came from the Cube or another crafting path. You still can't wear two helms.
Patch 3.1.1a arrived on PC on July 16 and consoles on July 17. Don't tie Build #72836 to this patch. That number belongs to Patch 3.1.1 from July 14. The hotfix also increased Mythic and Iconic Unique drop rates from Corrupted Reaper, though Blizzard gave no percentage. It also removed the unintended Cube option that applied Mythic quality to Unique Charms and Seals.
Watch the developer note, too. Season 15 is planned to replace reroll crafting with a direct upgrade that keeps the original Unique. That's a future change. In Season 14, the Cube still rerolls your item.
What are the live Mythic farming numbers?
Patch 3.1.1 set up the new economy two days before the cap vanished. Then the July 21 server hotfix added a guaranteed top-end Undercity result. These are the live numbers Blizzard has actually published.
| System | Live value | Practical meaning |
|---|---|---|
| Crafted Mythic equipment cap | No special cap | Was 1 before 3.1.1a |
| Cube Upgrade to Mythic cost | 4 Fragments | Down from 5, a 20% cost cut |
| Corrupted Reaper Fragment drop | Up to 2 | Scales with Torment; 2 is not guaranteed |
| Repeatable Glints of Hope reward | At least 1 Fragment | One Fragment is guaranteed per repeatable reward |
| High-Torment Deathtoll reward | At least 1 Superior Lair Key | Blizzard has not named the exact “high Torment” breakpoint |
| Mythic Tribute, Torment X | Greatly increased chance | No percentage and no guarantee |
| Mythic Tribute, Torment XII | Guaranteed Mythic item | The July 21 hotfix restored certainty at T12 |
| Mythic Unique power bonus | +30% | Mythics are also always Ancestral with max-rolled normal affixes |
The crafted-Mythic cap removal comes from Patch 3.1.1a (July 16). Rows 2–5 come from the Patch 3.1.1 notes, released July 14. The Torment X and XII Tribute rules are in Blizzard's July 21 server hotfix. Nobody outside Blizzard has an official post-buff Reaper drop rate. A 50-run Reddit sample might be interesting. It isn't a loot table.
Why does removing the crafted limit change the farming meta?
Before 3.1.1a, your first successful craft filled the only crafted slot you were allowed to use. After that, extra Fragments mainly paid for rerolls or stash pieces unless natural drops completed the build. Now a useful result for each slot can join the same loadout. Suddenly, Fragment farming supports your entire gear plan instead of one item.
The cheaper recipe makes the difference bigger. 20 Pandemonium Fragments now buy 5 Cube attempts at four Fragments each. Under the old five-Fragment recipe, the same bank bought 4. That's 25% more attempts from the same bank, even though the cost of each craft dropped by 20%. Four repeatable Glints rewards also fund one attempt. Two Reaper payouts at the maximum two Fragments would get you there as well, but that's best-case math. “Up to 2” is not a promise.
The strongest repeatable farm now pays out in three ways: direct Mythic drops, Superior Lair Keys, and Fragments for attempts in a chosen slot.
What is the fastest Mythic farming loop after 3.1.1a?
1. Start with Surging or Colossal Ruptures
Before your first run, max the Urn of Death Awakening once your Seasonal Blessing points allow it. Blizzard says it increases Glints of Hope from every source. Next, open the Helltide map and hunt Surging and Colossal Pandemonium Ruptures. Normal Ruptures still give Glints, but they can't summon a Realmwalker. A mastered Surging Rupture has an undisclosed chance to summon one. Finish a Colossal Rupture and the Realmwalker is guaranteed.
Keep the Rupture alive. Kill monsters, close Tears, then grab the Glints of Hope when the event ends. The official Season of Death Awakening guide says Ruptures appear more often in Helltides, which means less dead time spent riding between events.
2. Kill the Realmwalker and clear Deathtoll Chamber
Killing a Realmwalker opens the Deathtoll Chamber. Clear it on the highest Torment where the ritual remains quick and controlled. Patch 3.1.1 guarantees at least one Superior Lair Key at high Torment, but Blizzard hasn't said where “high Torment” begins. Nightmare Dungeons with the Rupture affix offer another way into a Chamber.
Short on keys? Our Superior Lair Keys guide covers the full route and Hoard rules.
3. Spend the keys on Corrupted Reaper
Bring those keys to the seasonal boss at Pandemonium Threshold in Zarbinzet, kill it, then open the Hoard. If you can't repeat the lair yet, complete the Season 14 questline once. Blizzard calls Corrupted Reaper the best direct source of Mythic Uniques and Pandemonium Fragments. Patch 3.1.1a increased its Mythic and Iconic drop rates. Patch 3.1.1 set the Fragment ceiling at two, with the payout scaling by Torment.
Speed matters. Run the highest tier you can clear quickly, because a possible reward increase isn't worth much when the boss takes three times longer. For mechanics and route details, check the current Pandemonium Fragments guide.
4. Cash out Glints, then craft in batches
Redeem Glints of Hope at the Season Reputation Board in Zarbinzet or Temis. Each repeatable reward guarantees one Fragment. The July 21 hotfix also added Superior Lair Keys to the final repeatable cache, although Blizzard didn't reveal how many. That completes the cycle: Ruptures build reputation, reputation supplies boss keys and Cube currency, and Reaper drops gear plus more Fragments.

Should you run Torment XII Undercity or Corrupted Reaper?
Run both. Just spend the limited entries in the right order. If you own a Mythic Tribute of Armaments and can reliably finish Kurast Undercity on Torment XII, use it there. Blizzard now guarantees a Mythic item at T12. Torment X only offers what Blizzard calls a greatly increased chance. If T12 is realistically within reach, hold the Tribute instead of gambling early.
Corrupted Reaper is still the repeatable core of the farm. Opening its Hoard costs Superior Lair Keys, but a run can give you a natural Mythic plus up to two Fragments for a Cube attempt in the gear slot you choose. No Tribute needed. The Glints cache keeps the loop moving by returning more boss access and guaranteeing one Fragment.
Here's the clean priority:
- Use Mythic Tribute of Armaments at T12 whenever you can clear it reliably.
- Loop Ruptures, Deathtoll Chambers, and Corrupted Reaper for repeatable progress.
- Use a Tribute at T10 only if T12 is not a realistic goal and you accept that the result is not guaranteed.
- Convert Fragments every time you have both a four-Fragment batch and a worthwhile Item Power 850+ base.
How does the four-Fragment Cube craft work now?
The Upgrade to Mythic recipe unlocks at level 70 in Torment or higher. Add one Item Power 850+ Unique from your target gear slot and four Pandemonium Fragments, then craft. You'll get a random class-usable Mythic Unique from that same slot. Boots make boots, not a chest piece or helm. There is one exception: Blizzard puts one-handed weapons, offhands, and shields into a shared group.
Don't feed the Cube a great Greater Affix base. Seriously. The conversion rerolls the original affixes and GAs, and sacrificing the exact Unique you want doesn't increase your odds. An unwanted 850+ duplicate from the correct slot works just as well. Crafted Mythics can randomly roll GAs, but none are guaranteed. Every Mythic is Ancestral, carries a Unique Power increased by 30%, and gets maximum rolls on its other affixes.
| Fragment bank | Cube attempts now | Attempts at the old 5-Fragment cost |
|---|---|---|
| 4 | 1 | 0 |
| 8 | 2 | 1 |
| 12 | 3 | 2 |
| 20 | 5 | 4 |
The Jeweler is still a separate option. That route costs 18 specific Runes and 3 Resplendent Sparks. Only the Horadric Cube recipe received the four-Fragment price cut.
For the first craft, pick a slot where several class-usable outcomes would improve your setup. Once you hit something useful, start working on the next weak spot. The special cap no longer forces you to stop. Be careful with the combined one-handed weapon, offhand, and shield pool when only one possible result helps your build.
Which Mythic farming mistakes waste the most time?
- Treating two Reaper Fragments as guaranteed. Two is the ceiling. Your actual drop scales with Torment.
- Farming Normal Ruptures for a Realmwalker. Their Realmwalker chance is zero; use Surging or Colossal variants for the Chamber chain.
- Spending a Mythic Tribute at T10 expecting certainty. Only T12 is guaranteed after the July 21 hotfix.
- Feeding the Cube your best base item. The Season 14 craft rerolls it and returns a random Mythic from the matching slot.
- Trying to Mythic-upgrade a Unique Charm or Seal. Patch 3.1.1a removed that unintended interaction.
- Trusting a precise Reaper drop percentage. Blizzard raised the rate but did not publish it.

FAQ
Can you equip more than one crafted Mythic in Diablo 4 Season 14? Yes. Patch 3.1.1a removed the separate one-crafted-Mythic equipment restriction. You can wear several crafted Mythics at once, provided they occupy different normal equipment slots.
How many Pandemonium Fragments does Upgrade to Mythic cost now? Four. Patch 3.1.1 cut the Horadric Cube recipe from five Pandemonium Fragments to four. You'll also need one Item Power 850+ Unique in the target slot, and your character must be level 70 on Torment or higher.
Does the Cube preserve the Unique item you put in? No. Not in Season 14. The Cube consumes the base and gives you a random class-usable Mythic from the same equipment slot. One-handed weapons, offhands, and shields share a result pool. Keeping the original Unique is planned for Season 15.
What is the best repeatable Mythic farm after 3.1.1a? Start with Surging or Colossal Ruptures, kill the Realmwalker, and clear Deathtoll Chamber for Superior Lair Keys. Spend those keys on Corrupted Reaper's Hoard. Cash in the Glints for a guaranteed Fragment and more keys, then make a Cube attempt whenever you reach four Fragments.
What is Corrupted Reaper's Mythic drop rate now? Blizzard hasn't published a percentage. We only know that Patch 3.1.1a increased the Mythic and Iconic Unique rates, and that Blizzard calls Reaper the best direct Mythic source in Season 14.
Should I save a Mythic Tribute of Armaments for Torment XII? Yes, assuming your character can reach T12 and clear it reliably. The July 21 hotfix guarantees a Mythic item there. Torment X only has a greatly increased chance, with no published percentage and no guarantee.
