Fortnite Live Event Time: Next Event Status & Every Chapter 7 Event Time (2026)

Quick answer (last checked 26 October 2026, 03:30 UTC, Chapter 7 Season 4 "Override", v42.40): Epic has not announced a traditional live event to end Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4. This season's closing act is a Story Moment built around the giant pirate treasure chest on the island. The chest finished "downloading" on 24 October 2026, and Epic used a 2 PM ET beat that afternoon to tease the next season. Override officially ends on 1 November 2026 (Eastern Time), according to Epic's Battle Pass page. The Treasure Hunters mini-season starts the same day with update v43.00. Epic hasn't posted a downtime time yet. One outlet reports 4 AM ET, which is 09:00 UTC that day because US clocks fall back on 1 November. We update this page every time Epic schedules a live event, so bookmark it.

Key takeaways

  • Live event status: No live event has been announced for the end of Override. Epic's own posts for the finale so far are the chest teasers and the Treasure Hunters reveal.
  • The 24 October "event": Epic posted "See you @ 2 PM ET ❌" on X that morning. At 18:02 UTC (2:02 PM ET) it dropped a teaser ending on the Fortnite × One Piece logos.
  • Season end: 1 November 2026 ET, per Epic. Some sites and the Fortnite Wiki still list 31 October. Go with Epic's date, and note that Epic hasn't confirmed the hour.
  • Next season: Treasure Hunters (Chapter 7 Mini Season 1) starts 1 November with v43.00. Epic's teaser caption: "The greatest adventure of all! 11.1".
  • Chapter 7 pattern: All three earlier Chapter 7 seasons ended with a live event or Story Moment on a weekend afternoon or evening, US time: 3:30 PM ET, 7:00 PM ET and 2:00 PM ET.
  • Next likely big event: the Chapter 7 finale. Leakers point to late November or early December, but Epic hasn't confirmed it.

Is there a Fortnite live event today?

Not as of 26 October 2026. We checked Epic's status page and the official Fortnite channels at 03:30 UTC. Fortnite was All Systems Operational. The only scheduled maintenance on the board is an Epic Online Services window on 10 November, and that isn't a Fortnite event.

Here's what is live this week, so you know what you can actually catch:

  • The pirate treasure chest. Outlets report the chest sits in the lagoon east of Sunken Shores and south of Mega Maze, and it's permanently marked on the minimap (GAMES.GG). It loaded in daily stages at 9 AM ET, reached 100% on 24 October, and plays music tracks teasing upcoming collabs.
  • The Final Spritemare week. Epic's events card lists "The Final Spritemare!" for Override's last week. Dataminers' day plan runs from Tuesday 27 October to a boosted finale on Saturday. See our Fortnite Sprite events schedule for each day.
  • Fortnitemares 2026. Epic's Halloween event runs until the season ends on 1 November.

If Epic announces a finale moment for the last weekend, it'll come through @Fortnite on X and the in-game news tab. Notice periods vary a lot. Epic teased Final Wave on 12 March for a 14 March start, two days out. Promotion for Shattered and Unstable started much earlier, on 23 May and 8 August, per the Fortnite Wiki's event timelines. No promotion for an Override finale has started yet.

What happened at 2 PM ET on 24 October?

Official Treasure Hunters title card from Epic's 24 October 2026 teaser

That Saturday was the closest thing this season has had to a live event. Here's the timeline, all from Epic's official @Fortnite account and the Fortnite Wiki teaser log:

Time (24 Oct 2026)What happened
9:00 AM ETThe chest "superhack" download hit 100% and the chest fully loaded onto the island (tracked by FortTracker)
13:00 UTC (9 AM ET)Epic posted the Treasure Hunters teaser: "The greatest adventure of all! 11.1"
14:00 UTC (10 AM ET)Epic posted "See you @ 2 PM ET ❌"
2:00 PM ETThe first Power Hours: Community Sprites window began (Finger Guns and Portable Extractor unvaulted)
18:02 UTC (2:02 PM ET)Epic posted three straw hats 👒👒👒 and a short clip ending on the Fortnite × One Piece logos

The story setup comes from the season's quests, per the Fortnite Wiki's story summary. Doctor Slone activates a superhack that downloads the treasure chest. A voice inside it says the Zero Point Sliver is in the chest and that several groups are hunting for it. Hope and Jones then head off to find the chest's key. That leads straight into "reality's greatest treasure hunt", which is the Treasure Hunters premise.

So if you missed "the live event" on 24 October, you didn't miss a cutscene. You missed a Power Hour and two social-media teasers. The chest itself is still on the map until the season ends.

When does Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4 end, and what time is the downtime?

Override ends on 1 November 2026, Eastern Time, per Epic's Battle Pass page. An Epic staff member on the official Unreal Engine forums wrote on 13 October that a fix was "targeted for v43.00 (November 1)". That confirms the next update number and date.

Epic hasn't published the time. It normally announces the downtime on status.epicgames.com and @FortniteStatus shortly before. GAMES.GG reports the mini-season begins "following downtime starting at 4 AM ET". Treat that as reported, not confirmed.

Watch out for the clock change. US daylight saving time ends at 2 AM on 1 November 2026, the same day as the season change. So "4 AM ET" that morning means Eastern Standard Time (UTC−5):

RegionIf downtime starts 4 AM ET on 1 Nov
UTC09:00, Sun 1 Nov
US Pacific (PST)01:00, Sun 1 Nov
US Eastern (EST)04:00, Sun 1 Nov
UK (GMT)09:00, Sun 1 Nov
Central Europe (CET)10:00, Sun 1 Nov
Moscow (MSK)12:00, Sun 1 Nov
India (IST)14:30, Sun 1 Nov
Japan (JST)18:00, Sun 1 Nov
Sydney (AEDT)20:00, Sun 1 Nov

The UK and EU already switched clocks on 25 October, so those rows are fixed. If you're grinding the last Battle Pass levels, don't cut it fine. Season-change downtime usually lasts a few hours, and you can't earn XP once servers go down. Our Fortnite server status and downtime guide tracks the outage live on the day. Our season end time guide covers what you keep. Short version: rewards you've unlocked but not claimed are granted automatically on your next login, per Epic Player Support. Only levels you haven't earned are lost.

What is the next Fortnite live event?

There are three realistic candidates. Only one has a firm date.

  • Treasure Hunters launch (1 November 2026). Confirmed date, no event confirmed. It's an update and a new map, not a live event. Epic's in-game news card reads: "On November 1, prepare to set sail on an epic adventure." Our Treasure Hunters guide covers what's confirmed.
  • The Chapter 7 finale. Expected, not confirmed. Every Fortnite chapter so far has ended with a Chapter Finale event followed by long downtime. Chapter 6's finale ran on 29 November 2025. The Fortnite Wiki currently lists the mini-season as ending on 5 December 2026. Leakers split between about 28 November and 5 December for Chapter 8. None of these dates come from Epic. If Epic follows its pattern, the Chapter 7 finale will be the biggest live event of the year.
  • New Year's Eve (31 December 2026). Near-certain. Fortnite has run a New Year's countdown event every year. For 2026, a giant disco ball came through a Rift over Golden Coast every hour, so each time zone hit midnight in-game. Expect the same hourly format for 2027.

Fortnite OG runs on its own season line (currently OG Chapter 1: Season X) with its own calendar. Before trusting an "OG live event" date, check that Epic's announcement names Fortnite OG, not the main Battle Royale season.

Every Chapter 7 live event, with start times

There's no countdown on this page yet because Epic hasn't confirmed a time. We'll add one when it does. The header image is official art for Shattered, the June 2026 finale, which is a past event. These are the confirmed Chapter 7 Battle Royale live events and Story Moments, with dates and times from the Fortnite Wiki live events list and Epic's own promo art:

Three patterns are worth knowing if you're trying to guess a time before Epic posts it:

  • Weekends win. Two of the three Chapter 7 season finales were on a Saturday, and Shattered was on a Friday evening.
  • US afternoon or evening. Start times have fallen between 2:00 PM and 7:00 PM ET. For Europe that means evening, and for Asia-Pacific it means the middle of the night or early morning.
  • Finales come days before the season ends, not on the last day. Unstable ran on 15 August and Override launched on 20 August, a five-day gap. A finale on the actual season-change day is the exception.

Story Moments are short. Final Wave ran for about a minute (3:30 to 3:31 PM ET, per the wiki). Unstable lasted a few minutes. A major event like Shattered ran 7:00 to 7:15 PM ET per the wiki, plus a 40-minute "doors open" window beforehand.

How do you watch a Fortnite live event without missing it?

One-off live showings are synchronous. They play at the same moment on every server, so if you're late to that showing, you've missed it. Some events work differently: a few have had repeat showings, and some finales were playable on your first login afterwards. Check Epic's announcement for which kind it is. For a one-off showing, this is what worked for Chapter 7's events:

  • Update the day before. Pre-event patches and hotfixes tend to drop in the last 24 hours. Downloading at countdown time is how most people miss events.
  • Log in 30 to 45 minutes early. Shattered opened its doors 40 minutes early ("Doors Open 6:20pm ET. Fight Starts 7pm ET," per Epic). Matchmaking queues spike before an event.
  • Join the mode Epic names. Story Moments have played inside regular Battle Royale matches, while bigger events can use their own playlist. Follow the in-game news tab on the day. A Creative island won't show the event.
  • Stay alive and stay inside. If you're eliminated before the moment, you watch from spectate at best. Land somewhere quiet and avoid fights near the countdown.
  • Check the source, not a countdown site. Third-party timers often run off leaked or guessed times. If @Fortnite hasn't posted a time, the timer is a guess.
  • Missed it? Full recordings usually appear on YouTube and the Fortnite Wiki within hours.

Are leaked live event dates reliable?

They're useful for planning, not for setting an alarm. Two examples from this season:

  • Leaks pointed to a possible Override finale live event all season. As of 26 October it hasn't been announced. GAMES.GG now reports there is "no traditional live event planned for this season", with the chest serving as the closing act.
  • Leakers said "Chapter 8 on 1 November" for weeks. What's actually coming on 1 November is a mini-season, Treasure Hunters, and Chapter 8 is still unconfirmed.

On Reddit, one player asked whether the season "leaves 2 days for the black hole", hoping for a Chapter 1-style blackout ending. The reply sums it up: "We dont know yet." That's the honest answer until Epic posts a time. The Override finale preview we wrote on 11 October has the full leak-vs-confirmed breakdown from earlier in the season.

FAQ

Is there a Fortnite live event today? Not as of 26 October 2026. Epic hasn't announced a live event to end Chapter 7 Season 4. This season's finale is a Story Moment built around the pirate treasure chest, and its big teaser beat happened on 24 October at 2 PM ET.

What time is the Fortnite live event? No time has been announced for an Override finale. Chapter 7 finales have started at 3:30 PM ET (Final Wave), 7:00 PM ET (Shattered) and 2:00 PM ET (Unstable). If Epic schedules one, expect a weekend afternoon or evening in US time, posted on @Fortnite about two days ahead.

When does Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4 end? On 1 November 2026, Eastern Time, per Epic's Battle Pass page. Some sites list 31 October, but Epic's own date is 1 November. The exact hour isn't confirmed. The Treasure Hunters mini-season starts the same day with update v43.00.

What time do Fortnite servers go down on 1 November? Epic hasn't announced it yet. One outlet reports 4 AM ET. Because US clocks fall back that morning, 4 AM ET would be 09:00 UTC, 09:00 in the UK and 10:00 in Central Europe. Check status.epicgames.com on the day.

Did I miss the Fortnite One Piece event? No. Fortnite × One Piece was teased on 24 October at 18:02 UTC with a short clip ending on both logos. Epic hasn't given a release date or named any characters yet, so there's no One Piece event to miss.

Will there be a Chapter 7 finale live event? Probably, though it isn't confirmed. Every Fortnite chapter has ended with a Chapter Finale event. The current mini-season is listed by the Fortnite Wiki as running to 5 December 2026, and leaked Chapter 8 dates range from about 28 November to 5 December.
