Fortnite's next mini-season is called Treasure Hunters, and it starts on 1 November 2026. Epic confirmed both on 24 October 2026 with a short teaser video that shows the title card, a parchment-style map and the date "11.1". The mini-season follows Chapter 7 Season 4 "Override". Leaks point to a pirate theme with anime remixes of familiar characters and collab "crews" led by A$AP Rocky, Lil Uzi Vert and Hatsune Miku with Kasane Teto. This guide splits what Epic has confirmed from what is still a leak. It also covers what the map teaser shows and what you need to finish before Override ends.

Last checked: 24 October 2026, 15:30 UTC, before Epic's 2 PM ET announcement. Applies to Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4 "Override" (v42.40) and the upcoming Treasure Hunters mini-season (v43.00).

Quick answer: what is Fortnite Treasure Hunters?

  • What it is: the name of Fortnite's next mini-season, shown on Epic's official title card as "Treasure Hunters – The Greatest Adventure of All Time", with the name also written in Japanese katakana.
  • Release date: 1 November 2026. Epic's post says "11.1", and Epic's Battle Pass page says Override "Ends November 1, 2026 Eastern Time."
  • Update number: v43.00. Epic's v42.40 known-issues post names a fix "targeted for v43.00 (November 1)".
  • Is it Chapter 8? No. Everything so far points to a Chapter 7 mini-season that bridges Override and Chapter 8. Leakers put Chapter 8 in late November or early December, but Epic hasn't confirmed that.
  • Theme: pirates and a treasure hunt with an anime art style. Six pirate-crew flags appear in teaser material.
  • Not confirmed yet: Battle Pass skins, a One Piece collab, prices and the end date.

What has Epic officially confirmed about Treasure Hunters?

Epic's own posts confirm only a few things so far. The main source is the teaser video Epic posted on X at 13:00 UTC on 24 October 2026, with this caption:

"The greatest adventure of all! 11.1" — Fortnite on X, 24 October 2026

The 7.7-second clip goes from a black-and-red "Fortnite" logo with Japanese katakana, to a pop-art Fortnite logo next to a skull-and-chains treasure chest, to the final title card. That card reads TREASURE HUNTERS across gold katakana (トレジャーハンターズ) over a hand-drawn treasure map, with the strapline THE GREATEST ADVENTURE OF ALL TIME. The vertical Japanese text in the corner of the map, 史上最大の冒険, means "the greatest adventure in history" and matches the English tagline.

Epic also has another announcement coming today. Its account posted "See you @ 2 PM ET ❌" on 24 October. 2 PM ET is 18:00 UTC, 19:00 in the UK and 20:00 CEST. Data-miners report an in-game event flag that preloads a video from 1 PM ET and ends at 2:05 PM ET, so expect an in-game teaser around then. We'll update this page with whatever Epic shows.

When does Treasure Hunters start, and how long is the downtime?

Treasure Hunters goes live on 1 November 2026 with v43.00. Override officially ends on 1 November Eastern Time. Epic usually starts season-change downtime in the early US morning, which is morning or daytime on 1 November in Europe and Asia. For example, 07:00 UTC is 07:00 in London, 08:00 in Berlin and 16:00 in Tokyo. These are conversion examples, not confirmed maintenance times.

Epic hasn't announced the downtime start time yet. Here's what recent season changes looked like:

  • v42.00 (Override launch): downtime began at 2 AM ET / 06:00 UTC per Fortnite Status, and lasted about five hours according to Beebom.
  • 1 November 2025 (The Simpsons mini-season): about 5 hours down, according to the Fortnite Wiki's downtime log.
  • 7 June 2025 (end of Galactic Battle): about 4 hours down.

There's also a clock trap. US daylight saving time ends on 1 November 2026, the same morning as the update. 2 AM EDT is 06:00 UTC, but 2 AM EST is 07:00 UTC. The UK and EU change their clocks on 25 October. Go by Fortnite Status's UTC times, not a countdown that converts time zones for you.

We track the live outage on our Fortnite server status page, which will cover v43.00 on the day.

What does the Treasure Hunters map teaser show?

Vertical version of the Fortnite Treasure Hunters teaser showing the outline of the new mini-season map in blue

The title card sits on top of a hand-drawn map, and a vertical version of the teaser shows much more of it. Here's what you can actually see:

  • A full island, not a small arena. The outline covers a main landmass with a ring road, dense town blocks on the west side, a circular structure near the bottom-centre, and small islets off the east coast.
  • A compass rose in the bottom-left corner, styled as a skull-and-crossbones emblem.
  • A Jolly Roger marking near the top-right, next to the Japanese tagline.

Players are surprised by the size. As one r/FortniteBR commenter put it on 24 October: "That's a big map for a mini season." Earlier mini-seasons varied a lot. The Simpsons mini-season used a small, purpose-built Springfield map, while Galactic Battle used the full Chapter 6 island. Several players think the teaser map looks a lot like Chapter 6, and one comparison points to the Masked Meadows area. That's community speculation, not a confirmed POI list.

The artist teasers also showed old locations. Lil Uzi Vert's clip featured a remixed Anvil Square (a Chapter 4 Season 1 POI), and A$AP Rocky's showed The Yacht (Chapter 2 Season 2). Whether those are real map locations or just set dressing for the teasers is unknown until 1 November.

Which pirate crews are coming in Treasure Hunters?

The mini-season appears to be built around rival pirate crews, each with its own flag. Note: "Crew" here means these in-game pirate factions. It has nothing to do with the Fortnite Crew subscription.

Data-miner FN_Assist identified six crew flags in the teaser material on 24 October:

  • Peely — listed as the Fortnite Originals crew.
  • A$AP Rocky — his teaser on 21 October showed his skin with a Rocket Launcher and a pirate flag.
  • A possible Straw Hat crew — unconfirmed (see the One Piece section below).
  • Hatsune Miku and Kasane Teto — Teto's rights holder posted an official teaser on 23 October showing Teto holding a flag with both singers' faces. Full details are in our Kasane Teto and Hatsune Miku collab guide.
  • Lil Uzi Vert — his 22 October teaser showed an Icon skin and a Pink Tape skull flag. See our Lil Uzi Vert skin breakdown.
  • One more unidentified flag.

The giant pirate chest east of Sunken Shores has been building toward this all week. It "downloaded" in stages from 17 October, then played each crew's music in turn: A$AP Rocky's "RIOT" on 21 October, Lil Uzi Vert's "What You Saying" on 22 October, then Miku and Teto tracks from 23 October. On 24 October the chest teaser reached 100%, and it is still playing the Miku and Teto songs.

A leaked image also shows a Kasane Teto and Hatsune Miku duo Sprite. If that's real, the Sprite system carries over into Treasure Hunters, which our Sprites-after-Override guide said Epic hadn't confirmed. Treat it as a leak until 1 November.

Is One Piece in Fortnite Treasure Hunters?

Not confirmed. It's the most-asked question, and the honest answer is that the evidence is suggestive but there's no announcement yet.

What exists:

  • On 24 October, a Jolly Roger that looks like the Straw Hat Pirates' flag, but without the hat and nose, appeared in Fortnite's in-game news feed. Leakers HYPEX and ShiinaBR both flagged it, and neither called it a confirmation.
  • One of the six crew flags in the teaser is unidentified. Some data-miners have labelled it "Straw Hat Crew?", with the question mark.
  • Earlier leaks named a "Luffy's Crew" as the last crew in the lineup. That's still leak-only.

Players are split. One r/FortniteBR commenter compared it to an earlier season that was themed around an anime but shipped without the anime collab people expected. If Epic's 2 PM ET message is about One Piece, we'll update this section. Until then, ignore any "One Piece skin release date" you see quoted as fact. Our One Piece collab leaks tracker has the full history.

What will the Treasure Hunters Battle Pass include?

Epic hasn't revealed it. Here's what's known:

  • Madrid and Tokyo street posters (reported on 20 October) carried the lines "Have you seen the treasure?" and "Join the hunt.", with anime-style characters and a pirate skull.
  • Leakers read those posters and the teasers as anime remixes of Hope, Evie, Syd and Jonesy, plus possibly Oscar, whose image was too blurry to confirm. These are the expected Battle Pass skins, but that's an inference, not an Epic statement.
  • Lil Uzi Vert's teaser showed Anime Syd and an anime Cuddle Team Leader, which supports the anime-remix leak.

Price, number of pages and whether collab crews are Battle Pass or Item Shop are all unknown. The current Override Pass costs 800 V-Bucks. Since the March 2026 reprice, that's what $8.99 buys in the US. Don't assume the mini-season pass will cost the same until Epic lists it.

How long will Treasure Hunters last?

Epic hasn't given an end date. Previous mini-seasons were short:

Mini-seasonStartEndLength
Galactic Battle (Chapter 6)2 May 20257 June 2025~5 weeks
The Simpsons (Chapter 6)1 November 202529 November 20254 weeks
Treasure Hunters (Chapter 7)1 November 2026Not announced—

The Simpsons precedent matters most here. It started on the same date a year earlier and ran exactly four weeks into a new chapter. Leakers are split on Chapter 8: HYPEX points to around 28 November and others to around 5 December. Neither date is confirmed. For the full Chapter 8 picture, see our Chapter 8 release date leaks.

What ends with Override, and what should you finish first?

Treasure Hunters arrives by replacing Override, so a few things close on 1 November:

  • The Override Battle Pass. Rewards you've earned but not claimed are auto-granted the next time you log in after the season ends, according to Epic Player Support. Only tiers you haven't earned are lost. Some players also see a new "buy levels" pop-up after matches. Only use it if you really need the last few tiers.
  • Override story quests, including the Geno questline. If your Geno quests stop updating, Epic Player Support's fix is to play a new match and talk to The Order. Our Geno quests guide has every step.
  • Sprite Dust and Gizmos are expected to reset. Epic reset them at the last season change. Collected Sprites stayed in the Sprite Garden and Collection.
  • Not everything ends on 1 November. The Safety in Numbers horror-island questline runs until 12 November 2026, 6 AM ET. The November Fortnite Crew pack (Monarcha) arrives when Crew content rolls over at about 8 PM ET on 31 October.

Our season-ending checklist goes through the rest in order.

What is The Final Spritemare event?

Day 1 artwork from Epic's Final Spritemare event showing a gold Sprite and an exotic weapon

The Final Spritemare is Override's last-week send-off. Epic's Google Play events listing shows it as "The Final Spritemare!", starting in two to three days from 24 October. Here's the day-by-day schedule as revealed on 24 October and reported by FN_Assist via ShiinaBR. Epic hasn't published these details on its own channels yet, so treat the exact drop-rate list as unconfirmed:

  • Day 1, Tuesday 27 Oct — The Spritemare Begins: higher drop rates for the Exotic 8-Bit Blaster, plus Gold and Cheatmaster Sprites. You also get a Lucky Locator.
  • Day 2, Wednesday 28 Oct — The Spritemare Continues: higher drop rates for the Exotic Pump Shotgun and Loot Hacker Sprites. Log in for a Lucky Locator.
  • Day 3, Thursday 29 Oct — Return to the Spritemare: higher drop rates for the Exotic Balloon Popper Assault Rifle and Bounty Hunter Sprites. Log in for a Lucky Locator.
  • Day 4, Friday 30 Oct — Calaverita: log in for spooky Sprays, and Trick or Treat Sprites show up more often.
  • Day 5, Saturday 31 Oct — The Spritemare Finale: boosted Sprite rates all day.

FN_Assist also expects free Spritemare quests to go live on Day 1, unlocking the Crown, Gold Spooky Dash, Spooky Dash, Klombo and Trick or Treat Klombo Sprites. That's a data-miner's expectation, so check your Quests tab on Tuesday. For the regular weekly rhythm (Mastery Mondays, Power Hours), see our Sprite events guide.

There's also a Power Hours event today. Epic's post from 23 October:

"Drop in and transform into one of Freddy's Animatronics with… Finger Guns!?! 🍙 Community-designed Sprites (Onigiri, X-Ray, Pond, Dumpster Dive, Honey) appear more often" — Fortnite on X, 23 October 2026

The same post says the first round starts at 2 PM ET on 24 October, and the second round at 9 PM ET.

That's why players keep asking whether "something happens at 2 PM ET" today. Two things do: a Power Hours round starts, and Epic posts its message.
