LS Car Meet Rep is the most misunderstood progression bar in GTA Online. It is not your RP rank, it does not level from heists or businesses, and almost every "fast Rep method" video on YouTube is built on guesswork rather than the actual point values. Those values are knowable — Rockstar's own reward table has been documented down to the last point — and once you have them, the optimal routine stops being a mystery and becomes a 10-minute checklist.

Here is the number that reframes the whole grind: maxing LS Car Meet Rep pays out GTA$40,950,000 in level-up cash alone, across 1,000 levels. That is enough to buy more than two fully upgraded mansions. This guide covers every Rep source with exact values, what each level actually unlocks, the daily routine that banks 700 Rep in one sitting, what's double-Rep this week, and an honest answer to how long Rep 1000 really takes.

Quick answer (TLDR): LS Car Meet Rep has 1,000 levels and needs 999,500 total Rep points to max. The fastest legitimate method is a daily checklist of the 14 activities that each pay 50 Rep on a 24-hour cooldown — 700 Rep per day in roughly 10–15 minutes — stacked on top of passive Rep, which pays 20 points every 4 minutes (250/hour) while you wear LS Car Meet merch, exactly double the 10 points you get without it. The single highest-paying race is a Pursuit Race with 9–16 players: 120 Rep for first place. This week (Aug 27 – Sep 2, 2026), Auto Shop Robbery Contracts pay 2X LSCM Rep, turning a 200-Rep Contract Finale into 400. At a realistic 900 Rep/day, Rep 1000 takes about 1,111 days — roughly three years. If you want the unlocks without the three years, a GTA 5 account boost skips the grind.

Here's the roadmap:

  • Rep vs RP — why they are two completely different bars
  • The level curve — exact points per level and the formula
  • What Rep unlocks — the money table and the milestones that matter
  • Every Rep source — full activity table with exact values
  • Race payouts — placement tables, and the highest-paying race in the game
  • The optimal daily routine — 700 Rep in one visit
  • This week's 2X Rep event — Aug 27 – Sep 2, 2026
  • How long Rep 1000 actually takes — the honest math

What is LS Car Meet Rep, and how is it different from RP?

LS Car Meet Reputation is a separate level system introduced with the Los Santos Tuners update in July 2021. It runs in parallel to your normal GTA Online rank and shares none of its progress. Your RP rank climbs from missions, heists, and businesses across the whole map; Rep climbs almost exclusively from things you do inside or through the LS Car Meet — the underground warehouse in Cypress Flats.

You need an LS Car Meet Membership from Mimi, a one-off GTA$50,000, before you earn a single Rep point. Buying it immediately puts you at Rep 1.

The key structural difference: Rep is passively earned just by being inside the car meet building, which no other progression system in GTA Online does. That single mechanic is why the grind is solvable — you bank points while standing still.

If you're chasing your main rank rather than Rep, that's a different grind with a different optimal route — our fastest RP and level-up guide covers that side.

How much Rep does each level need?

The curve is a clean arithmetic ramp, then a flat cap:

  • Level 1 requires 100 Rep points.
  • Between levels 1 and 199, each level requires 5 points more than the previous one (105, 110, 115…), maxing out at 1,100 points.
  • From level 200 to 1,000, every level costs a flat 1,100 points.

To work out the cost of your next level, the formula is 5c + 100, where `c` is your current level. At level 55, your next level costs (55 × 5) + 100 = 375 points.

Cumulative totals matter more than per-level costs when you're planning a grind:

Target Rep levelTotal Rep points neededDays at 900 Rep/day
Rep 202,950~4 days
Rep 305,175~6 days
Rep 5011,125~13 days
Rep 10034,750~39 days
Rep 200119,500~133 days
Rep 250174,500~194 days
Rep 500449,500~500 days
Rep 1,000999,500~1,111 days

What does LS Car Meet Rep actually unlock?

Two things: cash at every single level, and unlockables that front-load hard into the first 250 levels.

The cash is guaranteed and scales up:

Rep levelsGTA$ per levelSubtotal
1–100$5,000$500,000
101–200$10,000$1,000,000
201–250$20,000$1,000,000
251–999$50,000$37,450,000
1,000$1,000,000 (one-off)$1,000,000
TotalGTA$40,950,000

The unlock schedule is where the real value sits, and it is heavily front-loaded:

  • Levels 1–250: a reward at every level — clothing, vehicle liveries, wheel styles, vehicle trade prices, or Auto Shop Contract abilities.
  • Levels 251–750: a reward every 5 levels, usually a single-use discount voucher, with a clothing item every 50 levels.
  • Levels 751–1,000: a reward every 5 levels, all discount vouchers — until Rep 1,000 unlocks the Tuned For Speed Racing Suit.

The milestones actually worth grinding toward are all in the first 30 levels:

Rep levelUnlockWhy it matters
1Euros trade price + all LSCM featuresInstant, from buying membership
5Pursuit Series Races from the Race OrganizerUnlocks the highest-Rep race type
10Quick Fix Auto Shop Contract abilityFirst Contract approach upgrade
15Diversion Auto Shop Contract ability
20Private Takeover of the car meetSolo, griefer-free Rep farming
25Setup Auto Shop Contract ability
30Wingman Auto Shop Contract abilityCompletes the Contract ability set
100All vehicle trade prices unlockedVouchers replace trade prices from here

Rep 20 is the single most important target. Private Takeover lets you lock the car meet to just you and your friends, which turns passive Rep farming into something you can do without being rammed off the test track. Rep 30 is the second, because it completes the full set of Auto Shop Contract abilities — directly relevant to the Auto Shop Robbery Contract payouts that are boosted this week.

Which activities give the most LS Car Meet Rep?

This is the table the guides never publish in full. "First" is the one-time value the very first time you ever do it; "Repeat" is what it pays afterwards, once per cooldown.

Attend Car Meet 21 days in a row500streak

Three things in that table do most of the work.

The GTA Online LS Car Meet Merch Store truck with clothing racks inside the car meet

Wear the merch. Passive Rep pays 10 points every 4 minutes, capped at 10 payouts — 100 points across 40 minutes — followed by an 8-minute dead cooldown before the cycle restarts. Wearing any LS Car Meet Merch Store clothing doubles it to 20 points per tick, so a full 48-minute cycle pays 200 instead of 100. That is 250 Rep/hour versus 125, for the price of one hoodie. Not wearing merch while farming is the most common and most expensive mistake in the entire system.

GTA Online Auto Shop with mechanics working on a tuner car

The Auto Shop route is uncapped. Every other high-value activity sits behind a 24-hour cooldown. Auto Shop Contract Finales pay 200 Rep each with no cooldown at all, which makes them the only way to earn Rep at scale in a single session. This was not in the original Tuners release — Rockstar added it in the 1.58 update of December 2021, stating in the patch notes:

"Players are now rewarded LS Car Meet Reputation for completing Auto Shop Contracts, Customer Deliveries, and Exotic Exports Deliveries."

Rockstar Games, GTA Online Title Update 1.58 patch notes

Streaks are free money. Simply walking into the car meet for 21 consecutive days pays an extra 850 Rep in streak bonuses on top of the 50/day attendance bonus. It costs nothing but the loading screen.

How much Rep do races actually pay?

Race Rep comes in two parts: the flat participation bonus from the table above (50 on repeat), plus a placement bonus that scales with lobby size. Bigger lobbies pay dramatically more — and Street and Pursuit race rewards were increased by 20% in The Chop Shop update.

Street and Drag Races (by number of competitors):

Place5–8 players4 players3 players2 players
1st96727248
2nd76575738
3rd574343
4th4836

Pursuit Races — the highest-paying race type in the system:

Place9–16 players5–8 players4 players
1st1209672
2nd967657
3rd725743
4th604836

Drift Races pay slightly less at the top: 80 for first in a 5–8 player lobby, 64 for second, 48 for third.

Sprints and Test Track Scrambles cap at 60 for first place in a 4-player race, and Test Track Head-to-Head pays just 30 for a win — the weakest race format for Rep, despite being the fastest.

The takeaway: a first-place finish in a full 9–16 player Pursuit Race is worth 120 Rep, more than double a Head-to-Head win, and Pursuit Races unlock at just Rep 5. Drag races deserve a mention for a different reason — they routinely finish in under two minutes, so their Rep-per-minute is excellent even at 96 for a win.

What is the fastest LS Car Meet Rep routine?

Fourteen separate activities each pay 50 Rep on a 24-hour cooldown. Do all fourteen in one visit and you bank 700 Rep per day, and most of them take seconds:

  • Walk into the car meet — 50
  • Drive in with a personal vehicle — 50
  • Modify anything at the Mod Shop (even swapping a licence plate counts) — 50
  • Enter the Test Track with your personal vehicle — 50
  • Enter the Test Track with a Test Ride — 50
  • Complete one Test Track lap — 50
  • Test Track Head-to-Head — 50
  • Test Track Scramble — 50
  • Street Race — 50
  • Pursuit Race — 50
  • Sprint — 50
  • Drift Race — 50
  • Drag Race — 50
  • Start a Private Takeover (Rep 20+) — 50

On your very first day the checklist is worth 850, because eight of those activities pay 75 the first time you ever do them — but Private Takeover is still locked until Rep 20, so you're running 13 of the 14. Once Takeover unlocks, the daily ceiling settles at 700.

Layer on top of that:

  • Wear LSCM merch the entire time — 200 Rep per 48-minute cycle instead of 100.
  • Pick short race formats. Drag races and sprints clear the participation bonus in under two minutes each.
  • Run Auto Shop Contracts if you want to push past 900/day — each Finale is another uncapped 200.
  • Never miss a day, for the 7/14/21-day streak bonuses.

A realistic, sustainable day is 700 (checklist) + 200 (one merch passive cycle) = 900 Rep, in well under an hour. A heavy three-hour session with race placements and a Contract Finale lands closer to 1,800–1,900.

What's boosted this week? (August 27 – September 2, 2026)

The current weekly update carries one bonus that directly doubles your Rep income:

  • 2X GTA$, RP and LSCM Rep on Auto Shop Robbery Contracts. A Contract Finale jumps from 200 to 400 Rep, and each Prep from 50 to 100. This is the best week of the month to grind Rep, because Contracts are the only uncapped Rep source in the game.
  • 3X GTA$ & RP on Random Transform Races (Known Unknowns and Unknown Unknowns).
  • Weekly Challenge: participate in 3 Drift Races for GTA$100,000 — which also clears your daily Drift Race Rep bonus.
  • LS Car Meet Prize Ride: the Dinka Veto Classic (normally GTA$895,000 at Southern San Andreas Super Autos). Requirement: place Top 5 in the LS Car Meet Series four days in a row.

Note that the 6X GTA$ & RP on select Drift and Transform Races ran August 28–30 only and has now ended — plenty of week-old guides still list it as live.

The Prize Ride is worth planning around: four days of Top 5 finishes is a real commitment, but it also clears four days of race Rep bonuses as a side effect.

Rep 1000 is a three-year project at a sane pace. If you want the unlocks, the suit, or just a stacked account without the years:

>

- GTA 5 Account Boost — levels, RP and unlocks, handled for you

- GTA 5 Money — fast, safe cash top-ups

- GTA 5 Modded Cars — rare rides, delivered

- All GTA services

How long does Rep 1000 really take?

999,500 Rep points, and the honest arithmetic:

Play patternRep/dayTime to Rep 1,000
Daily checklist only700~1,428 days (3.9 years)
Checklist + one merch passive cycle900~1,111 days (3.0 years)
Heavy 3-hour daily session~1,850~540 days (1.5 years)

Even the hardcore route is an eighteen-month commitment, and the returns collapse after Rep 250 — past that point you are grinding 1,100 points per level for a discount voucher every fifth level. The players who post Rep 1000 screenshots are overwhelmingly describing months of AFK farming inside the meet rather than active play, which is exactly what the 8-minute passive cooldown is designed to tax.

The rational target for most players is Rep 30: about six days of the checklist, and it unlocks Private Takeover plus the complete set of Auto Shop Contract abilities. Everything past that is cosmetics, vouchers, and level-up cash you can earn faster almost anywhere else in the game — including the Salvage Yard robberies and Nightclub setups.

FAQ

How do I get LS Car Meet Rep fast? Run the 14-activity daily checklist — every one pays 50 Rep on a 24-hour cooldown, for 700 Rep in roughly 10–15 minutes — and wear LS Car Meet Merch Store clothing the whole time so passive Rep pays 20 points every 4 minutes instead of 10. Add Auto Shop Contract Finales (200 Rep each, no cooldown) if you want to go past 900 a day.

What is the max LS Car Meet Rep level? Rep 1,000. It requires 999,500 total Rep points and rewards the Tuned For Speed Racing Suit plus a one-off GTA$1,000,000.

How much money do you get from LS Car Meet Rep? GTA$40,950,000 in total across all 1,000 levels — $5,000 per level to Rep 100, $10,000 to Rep 200, $20,000 to Rep 250, $50,000 per level from 251 to 999, and $1,000,000 at Rep 1,000.

Does wearing LS Car Meet clothing really double Rep? Yes, but only the passive Rep you earn standing inside the car meet: 20 points every 4 minutes instead of 10. It has no effect on race, Contract, or daily-activity Rep.

Which race gives the most LS Car Meet Rep? A Pursuit Race with 9–16 competitors — 120 Rep for first place, on top of the 50 participation bonus. Pursuit Races unlock at Rep 5 from the Race Organizer.

Do Auto Shop Contracts give LS Car Meet Rep? Yes. Rockstar added this in the 1.58 update in December 2021. A Contract Prep pays 50 Rep and a Finale pays 200, with no daily cooldown — and this week (Aug 27 – Sep 2, 2026) Auto Shop Robbery Contracts pay 2X LSCM Rep, so a Finale is worth 400.

What is the fastest way to Rep 20? Rep 20 needs 2,950 total points — about four days of the full daily checklist. It is the most valuable milestone in the system because it unlocks Private Takeover, letting you farm passive Rep in a private car meet.
