Mortal Kombat Mobile's two Halloween towers are back. The Tower of Horror and the Nightmare Tower both opened on October 21, a week after the Tower of Khaos, and r/mkxmobile is full of battle 200 posts, reward screenshots and complaints about the last boss fight. This guide covers what each tower pays, which of the 20 tower-only equipment pieces are worth fusing, how to beat the 180 and 200 boss fights, and how to spend your attempts so you clear both towers before they leave.
Quick answer (checked October 27, 2026, Update 7.4): Both Halloween towers have 200 battles and give 5 attempts every 12 hours, which you can recharge twice for a max of 15. Clearing battle 200 pays a Main Reward. In the Tower of Horror that's a Diamond from a pool of 8 (seven Circle of Shadow fighters plus Darkest Knight Noob Saibot) and a Tower of Horror equipment card (players on this run are reporting Epic pieces like Reaper's End and Wailing Spirit). In the Nightmare Tower it's one of the 4 Nightmare horror icons (Freddy Krueger, Jason Voorhees, Leatherface, Ghostface) and Nightmare gear. Which card you get is random. The towers reset after a clear, so you can farm them for duplicates. A player screenshot from October 27 showed 16 days left, which points to an end around November 12. Check the timer in your own game.
What are the Tower of Horror and Nightmare Tower in MK Mobile?
They're limited-time Event Towers that come back every Halloween. WB's Event Tower & Equipment Guide lists the current one as the Remastered Tower of Horror and describes the second tower like this:
"This seasonally spooky Tower usually pops up around Halloween time. Find bosses like Freddy Krueger, Jason Voorhees and Leatherface lurking around the Tower." — WB Games, Event Tower & Equipment Guide
The Update 7.4 schedule art lists the Tower of Khaos starting on 10.14 and both Halloween towers on 10.21. That means three event towers are running at once. If you're also climbing the 50-battle Khaos tower, our Tower of Khaos guide covers that one.

How do attempts work, and how many days does a clear take?
WB's rule for Event Towers is short: "You will get 5 attempts (rechargeable twice for a max of 15 attempts) every 12 hours." WB doesn't say whether a win uses an attempt, but players' pace suggests wins don't. Several players posted full battle 200 clears on October 26, about five days after launch. That's more than the 30 battles a day WB's rule allows if every win cost an attempt. Tower of Khaos players are even further ahead: one posted their 500th Khaos battle (10 full clears) on October 27, about 13 days after that tower opened. So in practice, losses seem to be what uses up attempts, and what actually limits you is losses on the hard boss floors. Check your own attempt counter after a win to be sure.
That gives you a rough budget for each tower:
- Free only: 10 attempts a day. Across the 16 days left on October 27, that's up to 160 losses per tower.
- With both recharges: 30 attempts a day. Recharges cost Souls, and the price is shown on the recharge button.
- Two towers at once: each tower has its own attempt pool. Running the Khaos tower too means three separate pools to plan around, not one.
The screenshot above is from a player at Nightmare Tower battle 180 on October 27. It shows the Boss modifier, a three-boss team (Circle of Shadow Liu Kang, Darkest Knight Noob Saibot, MK1 Noob Saibot) and four of five attempts already used.
Our take: don't spend Souls on recharges while you're still winning on easy floors. Save them for the late boss fights (around battle 170 onward), where you'll lose most of your attempts. If your pool keeps running dry before the 12-hour refresh and the timer is getting short, recharge sooner.
What rewards do the Halloween towers give?
Each tower pays out three ways, per WB: "rewards for completing the Tower (Main Reward), completing Boss Fights, and Standard Participation Rewards." Participation rewards drop after every battle, win or lose. Each boss fight pays a set reward type, such as a random Gold character or a random tower equipment card. Players on this run also report a Diamond card from the Nightmare Tower's battle 100 boss. Battle 200 pays the Main Reward.
Tower of Horror Main Reward
According to the mkmobilebase reward pool, the Tower of Horror Main Reward is one card from each of two pools:
- Diamond pool (8): Circle of Shadow Kitana, Jax, Nightwolf, Liu Kang, Quan Chi, Sub-Zero and Kung Lao, plus Darkest Knight Noob Saibot
- Equipment pool: one Tower of Horror equipment card. The battle 200 drops reported this run are Epics (Hellfire Blade, Wailing Spirit, Reaper's End, Living Dead)
Players on the current run confirm the 8-Diamond pool. u/PotentialBee5701 complained: "Of 8 possible diamonds, you give me the ONE diamond I have maxed." u/ThinOnTop84 posted a Fusion X Darkest Knight Noob Saibot "thank you TOH 200".
Nightmare Tower Main Reward
The Nightmare Tower pool has four Diamonds: Nightmare Freddy Krueger, Jason Voorhees, Leatherface and Ghostface. It also includes Nightmare Tower equipment. This run, players report getting Jason from battle 200 and Freddy plus Bi-Han's Tormentor from their clears.
| Reward | Tower of Horror | Nightmare Tower |
|---|---|---|
| Main Reward (battle 200) | 1 Diamond from 8 + 1 tower equipment card | 1 Diamond from 4 + Nightmare equipment |
| Boss fights | set reward per boss (random Gold character or tower equipment card) | same structure; players report a Diamond at battle 100 |
| Every battle | Standard Participation Reward (Koins, Souls, cards), win or lose | same |
| Repeatable? | yes, the tower resets after a clear | yes |
Our take: the Nightmare Tower's smaller pool makes it the better tower for chasing one specific Diamond. With 4 options, you have a 1-in-4 chance per clear if the pool is evenly weighted (WB doesn't publish the rates). In the Tower of Horror, it's 1-in-8. Nobody can guarantee a specific Diamond, but more clears means more chances.
Which Tower of Horror equipment is worth fusing?
All the stat boosts below come from WB's official Fusion X sheet. The big Damage and Health numbers only apply inside this tower ("Tower of Horror only"). Outside it, only the effect lines work.
| Piece | Rarity | Key Fusion X effects |
|---|---|---|
| Living Dead | Epic armor | once per match, resurrect after defeat with Invulnerability and 100% unblockable Basics for 8 sec; 1200% Max Health |
| Reaper's End | Epic weapon | 50% unblockable Basics; 75% Luck on Combo Ender; 75% Team Curse on tag-in and every 10 sec; 600% Damage |
| Wailing Spirit | Epic accessory | steal 50% of the opponent's Max Power on tag-in; 100% chance to obtain Slow after a successful SP1 (WB's wording); 225% Damage, 450% Health |
| Hellfire Blade | Epic weapon | Fire on both fighters on tag-in for 10 sec; Fire attacks deal 80% bonus damage; 600% Damage |
| Witch's Ward | Rare armor | 30% resistance to all debuffs; 25% damage reduction above 1 bar of Power; 600% Health |
| Meat's Cleaver | Rare accessory | thrown on tag-in for 50% base damage plus Blind, Weaken or Cripple; 150% Damage, 300% Health |
| Bloodsucker | Rare accessory | 40% Bleed on Special; heal 5% of Max Health for each Bleed applied or resisted by the opponent; 150% Damage, 300% Health |
| Death Rattle / Bone Claw / Demon Eye | Uncommon | 80% Damage and 160% Health each, plus a small utility line |
For most rosters, the first pick is Living Dead on your weakest fighter. It gives a second life and the biggest Health boost in the tower. Reaper's End is the best weapon. A commenter on the current run called it "best out of 2 Halloween towers," and its Team Curse and 50% unblockable Basics stay useful outside the tower too.
Which Nightmare Tower equipment matters?
The Nightmare set is built around the horror icons. All three Uncommon accessories have a Fusion X line that only works for one named character: Jump Rope Song gives Freddy Krueger a 30% Stun on SP1, Trophy Collection lets Jason resurrect with Strengthen and 1 bar of Power, and Family Tools gives Leatherface permanent Enrage below 20% Health.
| Piece | Rarity | Key Fusion X effects |
|---|---|---|
| Killer Jacket | Epic armor | 60% Toughness; Shield at match start and 100% Shield after a Lethal Blow; 1200% Max Health |
| Bi-Han's Tormentor | Epic weapon | 15% Lethal Blow; 20% cheaper Specials; +1 bar when a teammate or Summon dies; 600% Damage |
| Thunder Lord's Stormweaver | Epic weapon | 1.5 bars of starting Power; 100% Dispel after a Special; 30% lightning on Basics; 600% Damage |
| Demon Bat | Epic accessory | a bat hits and Bleeds after every Special, respawning every 10 sec; heal 20% of the victim's Max Health when the bat hits a Bleeding target; 225% Damage, 450% Health |
| Bi-Han's Visage | Rare armor | 25% chance to reflect 100% Basic damage when blocking; Death Mark at X-Ray start; 600% Health |
| Thunder Lord's Sigil | Rare accessory | 15% of non-boss Health on Stun; Strengthen per Dispelled debuff; 150% Damage, 300% Health |
| Krypt Spider Fang | Rare weapon | 40% Poison on Combo Ender, 30% chance to also apply Weaken when Poison lands; 35% more Poison damage; 300% Damage |
For most teams, Stormweaver is the strongest opener here. You start with 1.5 bars of Power, and the Dispel after every Special clears debuffs off your own fighter, which keeps you alive on modifier-heavy boss floors. Killer Jacket is the defensive pick: where Living Dead gives you a resurrection, Killer Jacket gives you Shields plus 1200% Health.
How do you beat battle 200 in the Tower of Horror?
According to mkmobilebase, the final fight is MK11 Sindel, Darkest Knight Noob Saibot and Ace of Knaves Joker. It has the standard Boss modifier ("Win before time expires! Opponents are immune to DOT effects, and their equipment can't be destroyed or disabled."), Brutalize, and Hex: after every Special Attack, that fighter's later Specials get another 20% chance to heal the opponent instead of damaging them, until you tag out.
Players say the fight snowballs whenever Noob tags in:
"Anytime I'm getting somewhere, Noob tags in, instantly gets full power, x rays me and the whole team goes right back to full health." — u/BoneDaddy-99, r/mkxmobile, October 26, 2026
How to handle it:
- Tag out after one or two Specials. Tagging out resets Hex. Rotate all three fighters instead of chaining Specials on one of them.
- Don't rely on bleed, poison or fire. The Boss modifier makes all three bosses immune to DOT damage, so builds based on Demon Bat bleeds or Hellfire Blade fire do much less here.
- Keep Noob out with Snare. One reply on that thread was blunt: "Snare is the solution". Snare stops the snared fighter from tagging out, so the boss team can't swap Noob in at full power.
- Damage over the timer. The Boss modifier gives you a time limit. Reaper's End's unblockable Basics and Living Dead's revive window are what let you finish in time.
How do you beat the Nightmare Tower's last boss fights?
Battle 180 is the screenshot above: Circle of Shadow Liu Kang, Darkest Knight Noob Saibot and MK1 Noob Saibot. Battle 200 features Ghostface, who one player noticed shows up as both a fighter and a Kameo. u/Necromancer60 described the problem as all of them getting shields. Their advice was to equip Ceremonial Pipe on "the 3rd character on your team you will barely tag in". Ceremonial Pipe is the counter one player names for those shields. The Stormweaver's Dispel only cleans debuffs off your own fighter, so it helps you survive but doesn't remove boss shields.
What's the best order to run all three Halloween towers?
- Tower of Khaos first, if you're chasing MK1 Noob Saibot. It's 50 battles, so one attempt pool gets you a full clear and a Main Reward roll fastest.
- Nightmare Tower second. Its 4-Diamond pool gives you the best odds per clear.
- Tower of Horror last. The 8-Diamond pool gives the lowest odds of a specific card, but its Epic equipment (Living Dead, Reaper's End) is the best Halloween gear.
- Use free attempts on all three every 12 hours before spending any Souls on recharges.
- Don't strand your tower team in the Krypt. WB's Krypt rules lock a Krypt team out of every other activity until the run ends, and the team is Fatigued afterwards. Finish Krypt runs before a tower session, or run the Krypt with fighters you don't need in the towers. Our Krypt guide covers how to spend Hearts during this busy week.
FAQ
When does the Tower of Horror end in MK Mobile in 2026? WB hasn't published an end date. Both Halloween towers started on October 21, and a player screenshot from October 27 showed 16 days left, which points to around November 12. Check the timer on the tower card in your game.
How many battles is the Nightmare Tower? 200 battles, the same as the Tower of Horror. The in-game header reads "Nightmare Tower 180/200" at the battle 180 boss fight.
Can you get Darkest Knight Noob Saibot from the Tower of Horror? Yes. He's one of 8 Diamonds in the Tower of Horror Main Reward pool, alongside seven Circle of Shadow fighters. The pick is random, so a clear doesn't guarantee him.
Does Tower of Horror equipment work in other modes? The large Damage and Health boosts say "Tower of Horror only" (or "Nightmare Tower only"), so they shut off outside their tower. The effect lines, like Living Dead's revive or Reaper's End's Team Curse, still work elsewhere.
Can you replay the Halloween towers after battle 200? Yes. Event Towers reset after a clear so the rewards can be earned again, and players on r/mkxmobile are already posting repeat battle 200 rewards from this event.
Is there a Fatal version of the Tower of Horror or Nightmare Tower? Not in this run. Both are listed with a single Normal difficulty, unlike towers such as Elder Winds or Edenian that have Fatal versions.
Out of attempts before the timer runs out?
Stuck on battle 180 or 200, or short on time to climb three towers at once? timesaver.gg plays MK Mobile Event Towers by hand on your own account, with no cheats or mods. Every floor reward, fighter and piece of tower gear stays on your account. Main Reward Diamonds are random and never guaranteed, and how fast we clear depends on your roster and your attempts.
- MK Mobile Event Tower Boost: 30 to 200 battles of any live Event Tower, Android or iOS
- MK Mobile Souls: Souls for tower attempt recharges
