Escape from Tarkov Customs Money Guide (1.0.6): Best Loot Rooms, Dorm Keys & Roubles per Raid (2026)

Customs is the money map you already know the layout of — and that's exactly why it pays. The roubles here come from three reliable places: keyed loot rooms in the Dorms (the Marked Room is the single best container on the map), Reshala boss runs for golden pistols and keys, and low-risk Scav runs through Gas Station, New Gas and the construction areas. Master a dorm-key route and Customs turns into a repeatable rouble engine on the current Escape from Tarkov 1.0.6 build — no marked-room jackpot required to profit.

Quick answer: The fastest money on Customs is a 3-story Dorms key run — bring the Dorm 314 Marked Key plus the safe-room keys and you can clear 200k–400k roubles in barter and gear per raid, with the Marked Room alone rotating keys, weapons and Bitcoin. For low-risk income, run Gas Station + New Gas + hidden stashes as a Scav and extract fast. Add a Reshala kill (≈30–38% spawn) for golden TT pistols and keys. Bring a cheap kit — Dorms is the most-contested spot in Tarkov.

This guide covers the exact rouble routes on Customs, which dorm keys actually pay for themselves, where Reshala spawns, and how to stack raids into steady income. Every fact is checked against the official Tarkov Wiki and `tarkov.dev` for the current 1.0.6.5 build — and remember Tarkov runs on the seasonal model now (no traditional wipe), so a tight Customs routine compounds straight into your permanent character. Why is Customs good for making money?

Customs is the map almost every player learns first, which cuts both ways: the loot is dense and predictable, but the Dorms area is the single most contested spot in the game. The money strategy is to treat Customs as a keyed-room map rather than a scav-farm — you carry a small docs case of keys, hit the high-value rooms fast, and extract before the PvP funnel catches you. Three things make it a rouble map:

  • A cluster of keyed loot rooms. The 2-story and 3-story Dorms hold safes, weapon boxes and the Marked Room within a 30-second sprint of each other — no other map packs value that tightly.
  • A high-value boss with a fixed home. Reshala spawns around Dorms and New Gas and drops golden TT-33 pistols plus keys and valuables — a predictable payday when he's up.
  • Cheap, repeatable Scav runs. Gas Station, New Gas and the construction zones give a free Scav character a full backpack with minimal fighting, then a short walk to an extract.

The trade-off: everyone knows this map, so your loot rooms are also everyone else's loot rooms. Speed and route discipline matter more here than on any other money map.

Which dorm keys make the most money on Customs?

The three-story Dorms building on the Customs map in Escape from Tarkov, where the Marked Room and key loot rooms are located

The Dorms are the heart of Customs income. You want a dedicated Customs docs case stocked with the room keys — as the r/EscapefromTarkov consensus puts it, "you can fit all the customs keys into one docs case… there's literally no downside." Here are the keys that actually pay:

  • Dorm 314 Marked Key (3-story) — the crown jewel. Opens the Marked Room, the single most valuable locked room on Customs. It rotates high-tier loot: keys, keycards, weapons, meds and Bitcoin. This is the key that pays for itself in a single hit.
  • 3-story safe rooms (203, 214, 303). Weapon boxes, safes and jackets. One player reported pulling ~227,000 roubles in barter items from a single 3-story key run (2× skulls, GP coin, teapots, plus an SR-25 in the Marked Room).
  • 2-story safe rooms (114, 118). Reliable safe + duffle loot, less contested than the 3-story block. Good for a quieter run.
  • New Gas Station office key (the "gas office" key). A common point of confusion — the gas office key is for the New Gas Station, not the old one. It opens a small office with a safe and weapon spawns on your way through.

Route it, don't wander. Spawn near Dorms, clear 2-story first (fewer players push it), climb to 3-story for the safes and Marked Room, then break contact toward an extract. If you spawn Big Red / construction side, run the gas offices and Skeleton building instead and save Dorms for a later raid.

Where does Reshala spawn on Customs and what does he drop?

The New Gas Station area on the Customs map in Escape from Tarkov, a common Reshala spawn

Reshala is Customs' scav boss, and killing him is one of the highest rouble-per-minute plays on the map when he spawns (roughly a 30–38% chance, and higher during boss-surge events — always confirm on the in-game map skull icon or `tarkov.dev`).

Per the official Tarkov Wiki, Reshala spawns "at the dorms area, either in one of the dorms or in the yard between them" and "at the new gas station, either inside or around it." With three followers he can also hold the container-ship berths area. His guards are accurate and pressure you as a group, so drop the guards from cover first, then push Reshala — he isn't especially tanky.

The loot that matters: Reshala carries up to two golden TT-33 pistols (his signature drop and a clean flea/barter payday), plus a rotating chance at keys and high-value valuables. He's also a required kill for The Huntsman Path boss-hunt quest line, so a boss run doubles as quest progress. Bring enough penetration for his guards' armor and don't over-invest your kit — Dorms and Gas are PvP magnets.

The low-risk Scav money run

Not every raid needs a marked-room gamble. The Scav run is the safest consistent income on Customs:

  • Load in as a Scav (free character, free gear) and head for New Gas, the Gas Station, and the construction/Stronghold buildings.
  • Grab loose valuables, tech items and any open-room loot; hit filing cabinets and jackets on the way.
  • Extract fast through a Scav exit before geared PMCs rotate in.

Scav runs cost you nothing but time, and stacked over a session they add up to steady roubles with almost no risk to your stash. For maximizing raw rouble-per-raid across every map, cross-reference our best loot runs guide and the container-dense Interchange money guide.

Turning keys into a rouble engine (hideout + Cultist Circle)

The real Customs money loop isn't a single raid — it's the cycle:

  • Recycle keys through the Cultist Circle. A ₽400,000+ sacrifice has a flat 25% chance to hand back an item you need, and the Marked Room is a reliable source of keys and keycards to feed it. See our Cultist Circle guide for the exact recipe.
  • Barter, don't vendor. The skulls, GP coins and tech items from dorm rooms are worth far more listed on the Flea Market (unlocks at PMC level 15) than sold to traders.
  • Reinvest into more keys. A steady dorm-key route funds a full Customs docs case, which raises your per-raid ceiling — the classic Tarkov compounding loop.

Skip the grind:

- Tarkov Roubles — instant delivery — safe · best rate · fast, so you can afford the keys and kits that actually make money.

- Tarkov Keys — get the Marked Room and safe-room keys without farming the drops.

- Customs Raid Boost — a pro clears the money rooms and Reshala with you.

Season 1 "Kord Breach" — does it change Customs money?

Customs itself is unchanged for the Kord Breach / Season 1 launch (the seasonal patch follows the extended Blackout event and lands late July 2026). The important caveat for money-makers: Kord Breach is an opt-in seasonal character, and one of its negative modifiers is "No Flea Market." If you pick that modifier, you can't list your dorm-room barter for roubles — your income shifts entirely to trader sales and hideout crafts. Your permanent PvP/PvE character keeps the Flea and is unaffected. Plan your money strategy around which character you're playing.

FAQ

Which dorm keys are worth bringing to make money on Customs? The priority keys are the Dorm 314 Marked Key (opens the Marked Room — keys, weapons, Bitcoin), the 3-story safe rooms (203, 214, 303), and the 2-story safe rooms (114, 118). Add the New Gas office key. Keep them all in a dedicated Customs docs case — they fit in one and there's no downside to carrying them.

Where does Reshala spawn on Customs? Per the official Tarkov Wiki, Reshala spawns in the Dorms area (inside a dorm or in the yard between them) or at the New Gas Station (inside or around it), and occasionally at the container-ship berths with three followers. His overall spawn chance is roughly 30–38%, higher during boss-surge events.

Is the gas office key for the old or new gas station? The New Gas Station. This trips up a lot of players — the "gas office" key opens the office at New Gas, not the old Gas Station down the road.

How many roubles per raid can you make on Customs? A clean 3-story dorm-key run realistically nets 200k–400k roubles in barter and gear, with the Marked Room capable of far more on a good roll (one player reported ~227k in barter items alone). Low-risk Scav runs bring in less per raid but cost you nothing and carry almost no risk.

Can I still sell Customs loot on the Flea Market in Season 1? On your permanent character, yes — the Flea works as normal. Only the Kord Breach seasonal character with the "No Flea Market" modifier locks you out, in which case you sell to traders and craft instead.

Is Customs a good money map for new players? Yes — it's the map most players learn first, so you already know the routes, and Scav runs let you profit with zero investment. Just respect that Dorms is the most-contested area in the game; start with quiet 2-story runs before you gamble a geared marked-room push.
