Medic got the biggest shake-up of any track in WARDOGS Season 2. Update 0.2.0, live since 15 October 2026, moved the Medical Bag ten levels earlier and pushed the defibrillator eleven levels later at more than double the price. Almost every Medic SMG and attachment also changed level. If you built your Season 1 plans around an early defib, the order you unlock things in has changed.
This guide lists every Medic unlock BULKHEAD added or moved for Season 2, what each one costs to unlock and to carry every life, and the order we'd take them in.
Quick answer: In WARDOGS Season 2 the Medical Bag unlocks at Medic level 14 (was 24) for $50,000 (was $75,000). The defibrillator moved to Medic level 22 (was 11) and its unlock fee rose to $110,000 (was $50,000). The PP-19 Bizon is now the Medic's starting SMG (free to unlock), the MP5 dropped to level 4 for $25,000, the PP-19 Vityaz moved up to 15 and the AMP-9 is no longer free: it unlocks at level 20 for $75,000. Per-life prices: Medical Bag $1,800, Field Resuscitator $425, MP5 $1,800, Super-45 $5,600. Role-track XP is faster too: Medic 20 takes 111,500 XP instead of 250,000.
Updated 23 October 2026. Applies to WARDOGS Season 2, Update 0.2.0 (patch notes posted on Steam 14 October 2026, season live 15 October 2026). WARDOGS is BULKHEAD's 100-player, three-team Control Zone shooter on PC. It is not a battle royale or an extraction shooter. Every level, price and percentage below comes from the official Season 02 Patch Notes unless it's marked as a player report.

What changed for Medic in WARDOGS Season 2?
BULKHEAD's own summary of the Medic section, verbatim from the Season 02 Patch Notes: "The Medical Bag now unlocks at level 14 instead of 24, so medics can get value from it much earlier. Medics have also had the largest reshuffle of weapon and attachment unlocks of any track."
In practice that's four kinds of change:
- Revive and healing gear moved. The Medical Bag came down to level 14 and got cheaper. The defibrillator went up to 22 and got more expensive. The IFAK, Adrenaline Pen and black smoke each moved up a level or two.
- The SMG order flipped. The PP-19 Bizon (new this season) is free. The MP5 is now the first unlock at level 4, the PP-19 Vityaz moved up to 15, and the AMP-9 went from free to a level-20 unlock.
- Attachments were reshuffled. Most PP-19 and MP5 attachments moved earlier and got cheaper. Most AMP-9 attachments moved later and got more expensive.
- Two optics and grips swapped tracks. The Holographic Sight and the AFG Angled Foregrip moved into Medic from Assault. The Four Reticle Reflex and the RVG Vertical Foregrip moved out of Medic into Assault.
The Season 2 r/WarDogs thread "Defib nerfed to oblivion?" is about the first of those. Players who'd planned their whole Medic route around the old level-11 defib now have to get to level 22 first.
What are the new Medic unlock levels and fees?
Every item in WARDOGS has two gates. A level on its progression track makes it available, usually with a one-time unlock fee in Cash. After that you pay a per-life vendor price each time you deploy with it. This table covers the first part: every Medic unlock the Season 02 Patch Notes added or moved, sorted by Season 2 level. Where a level or fee isn't shown, the notes didn't list a change to it. Medic items the notes didn't touch aren't listed.
| Item | Season 1 level | Season 2 level | Unlock fee (Season 2) |
|---|---|---|---|
| PP-19 Bizon + 53 RND Magazine | new | default | free to unlock |

One more change has no level attached: the Super-45 unlock fee went from $150,000 to $200,000. The notes don't list a new level for it.
Why is the defibrillator so much later in Season 2?
BULKHEAD didn't give a separate reason for the defib move. The patch notes only explain the Medical Bag half: it moved earlier "so medics can get value from it much earlier." What's clear is the result. In Season 2 the Medical Bag arrives eight levels before the defib (14 against 22), so it's the revive upgrade you'll reach first, instead of the other way around. The Field Resuscitator is still there for revives before either one.
Here's the cost side, from the same notes:
- Medical Bag: unlock $75,000 → $50,000. Per-life price $2,000 → $1,800. Durability 100 → 150, "so a single bag goes further before it needs replacing."
- Defibrillator: unlock $50,000 → $110,000, level 11 → 22. The notes don't list a Season 2 per-life price for it.
- Field Resuscitator: per-life price $500 → $425.
So the bag is cheaper to unlock, cheaper to carry and lasts 50% longer before it needs replacing. Taken together, those changes push Medics toward the bag. BULKHEAD hasn't published revive health values for the bag, the defib or the resuscitator, so we don't list any here.
Which Medic SMG should you use in Season 2?
The SMG ladder changed the most. Here's what each gun costs to unlock and to carry, with the per-life vendor prices from the Season 02 Patch Notes:
| Weapon | Medic level (S2) | Unlock fee (S2) | Per-life price (S2) |
|---|---|---|---|
| PP-19 Bizon | default | free to unlock | $1,000 (new) |
| MP5 | 4 | $25,000 | $1,800 (was $1,500) |
| PP-19 Vityaz | 15 | $50,000 | not listed |
| AMP-9 | 20 | $75,000 | $1,375 (was $900) |
| Super-45 | not listed | $200,000 | $5,600 (was $2,600) |
The Bizon's 53 round magazine costs $200 per life on top of the gun.
Two balance notes from the same patch matter here:
- MP5: "Recoil pattern updated to have more of a horizontal pattern, as it was too easy to use." It's still the cheapest early upgrade, but it kicks sideways more than it did in Season 1.
- Super-45: "Damage fall-off increased beyond 50m, its effective range, pushing it firmly into a close-quarters role." At $5,600 a life it's now the most expensive Medic gun to carry, and its damage drops off harder past 50 metres.
Our recommendation: run the Bizon until Medic 4, buy the MP5 for $25,000 and add the $10,000 30 round magazine at level 8. That carries you to the Medical Bag at 14. The Vityaz is worth it at 15 mainly because its 50 round drum is now only $15,000 at level 21 (it was $50,000 at level 29). We'd leave the AMP-9 and Super-45 until you've bought the bag and the defib.
What's the best Medic unlock order in Season 2?
You can't skip levels, but you choose which unlock fees to pay and when. Cash is the limit, so here's the route we'd take to the defib, with every fee taken from the Season 02 Patch Notes:
- Level 1 to 3: PP-19 Bizon (free to unlock). Heal and revive with what the vendor already gives you.
- Level 4: MP5, $25,000. Your first real gun upgrade.
- Level 6: Holographic Sight. It's now on the Medic track instead of Assault.
- Level 8: MP5 30 RND Magazine, $10,000.
- Level 10 and 11: Individual First Aid Kit, then AFG Angled Foregrip.
- Level 14: Medical Bag, $50,000. The most important Medic unlock in Season 2. Buy it the moment you hit 14.
- Level 15 to 21: PP-19 Vityaz ($50,000) and its 50 round drum ($15,000) if you have spare Cash. Otherwise bank it.
- Level 22: Defibrillator, $110,000.
Just the four core buys on that path (MP5, its 30 round magazine, the Medical Bag and the defib) come to $195,000 in unlock fees, before a single per-life loadout. Add the Vityaz and its drum and you're at $260,000. If you're short on Cash, keep the bag and the defib and drop the Vityaz. Our WARDOGS money guide covers the Season 2 earning methods that still pay.

How long does it take to level Medic in Season 2?
Much less time than in Season 1, at least up to level 20. Role tracks use one shared XP curve, and BULKHEAD cut it sharply for Season 2. Verbatim: "Reaching level 20 now takes less than half the playtime it did in Season 1." Total XP required, from the Season 02 Patch Notes:
| Track level | Season 1 XP | Season 2 XP | Change |
|---|---|---|---|
| 10 | 35,000 | 25,000 | 29% quicker |
| 15 | 110,000 | 54,750 | 50% quicker |
| 20 | 250,000 | 111,500 | 55% quicker |
| 25 | 365,000 | 206,600 | 43% quicker |
| 30 | 500,000 | 318,200 | 36% quicker |
So the Medical Bag at 14 sits just under the 54,750 XP mark for level 15, and the defib at 22 lands between 111,500 (level 20) and 206,600 (level 25).
What earns Medic XP?
BULKHEAD hasn't published a per-action Medic XP or Cash table for Season 2, and we won't print one. What's first-party:
- Revives are checked by the server. Update 0.1.2 (30 September 2026) made revive validity checks "fully server authoritative, reducing the possibility of this being abusable across the map." In other words, BULKHEAD is actively closing revive-farming loopholes.
- Some actions moved to other tracks this season. Destroying buildables and using IEDs or C4 now give Assault XP, and repair XP goes to Driver or Pilot. None of the published changes moved XP out of Medic.
Players say Medic levels mainly through healing and revives. One r/WarDogs commenter summed up the tracks as "Recon has spotting, Medic has stims/revives, Support has supply delivery." That's a player summary, not a BULKHEAD table, but it matches how the track plays. The practical upshot: Medic levels fastest in the Control Zone, where the fights (and downed teammates) are.
Reviving also pays Cash, not just XP. BULKHEAD's Steam store page puts it plainly: "Every teamplay action you perform rewards cash. From reviving squadmates, transporting friendlies to the zone, or controlling the objective." And Season 2 added one way to cut what you spend on Medic loadouts: players who join and fill up empty servers get "a vendor discount once the match begins."
Will Medic levels reset in Season 3?
Yes, assuming Season 3 follows the same rules. BULKHEAD's seasonal model resets Cash and track XP at each season wipe, and Gold Bars and cosmetics stay on your account. On 17 October 2026 the official @WARDOGS account said Season 3 could be brought forward "significantly", but BULKHEAD hasn't given a date yet. That makes unlock fees a season-scoped spend. A $110,000 defib you buy today only lasts until the next wipe. Our Season 3 release date tracker covers the latest.
For the other Season 2 role tracks, see the Recon unlocks guide and the Pilot guide. Medics usually carry armor too, so the armor tiers guide is worth reading before you spend on a Level 3 or Level 4 kit.

FAQ
What level is the defibrillator in WARDOGS Season 2? The defibrillator unlocks at Medic level 22 in WARDOGS Season 2, up from level 11 in Season 1. Its unlock fee rose from $50,000 to $110,000 (Season 02 Patch Notes, 14 October 2026).
What level is the Medical Bag in WARDOGS? In Season 2 the WARDOGS Medical Bag unlocks at Medic level 14 (was 24) for $50,000 (was $75,000). It costs $1,800 per life and its durability went up from 100 to 150.
What is the best Medic gun in WARDOGS Season 2? Our pick for most players is the MP5 at Medic 4 ($25,000 to unlock, $1,800 per life) until you can afford the PP-19 Vityaz at 15 and its $15,000 drum at 21. The PP-19 Bizon is the starter gun and costs nothing to unlock. The Super-45 now costs $5,600 per life and has increased damage fall-off past 50 metres.
Is the AMP-9 still free to unlock for Medic in WARDOGS? No. In Season 2 the WARDOGS AMP-9 unlocks at Medic level 20 for $75,000, and its per-life price rose from $900 to $1,375. The PP-19 Bizon is the new Medic SMG that's free to unlock.
How do you level Medic fast in WARDOGS? Play Medic in the Control Zone, where fights and downed teammates are, and revive and heal your squad. BULKHEAD hasn't published per-action Medic XP values. Revive checks are server-side, so don't count on farming fake revives. Season 2 also cut the XP to reach Medic 20 from 250,000 to 111,500.
Do Medic levels carry over to Season 3 in WARDOGS? No. Under BULKHEAD's seasonal model, Cash and track XP reset at each wipe, and only Gold Bars and cosmetics stay on your account. BULKHEAD has said Season 3 could come "significantly" earlier but hasn't dated it.
