WARDOGS Season 2 went live on 15 October 2026. Two days later, BULKHEAD said the next wipe could come early. In an announcement on the official WARDOGS X account on 17 October, the studio admitted the Season 2 fresh start "never really landed", because players were reaching end-game gear within days. Its answer: it is "looking at" bringing Season 3 forward "significantly". So when is the next WARDOGS wipe, what will reset, and how should you spend your Cash and XP in the meantime? Here is everything confirmed as of 18 October 2026, separated from the guesses.

Quick answer: There is no confirmed WARDOGS Season 3 release date yet. On 17 October 2026, BULKHEAD said it is "looking at significantly bringing forward Season 3 and some of its content, so you get a proper fresh start", and that more details will come in its dev vlog next week (the week of 19 October). That is a promise of more information, not of a date. It ruled out an emergency reset "this weekend". Season 1 lasted about five weeks (10 September to 15 October), so if the plan goes ahead, Season 2 will likely be shorter than that. Until a date is announced, plan as if your Season 2 Cash and levels may be short-lived. By BULKHEAD's stated reset rules, they reset at the wipe, leftover Cash converts to Gold Bars, and Gold Bars and cosmetics carry over.

This article covers Season 2 (Update 0.2.0, live 15 October 2026). Game facts come from BULKHEAD's Steam patch notes and its official X account; player and review counts come from Steam's public APIs; developer interview quotes are attributed to PCGamesN. Everything was re-checked on 18 October 2026. We will update it as soon as the dev vlog gives a date.

When is WARDOGS Season 3 coming out?

BULKHEAD has not published a date. Here is an excerpt from the first-party statement, posted by @WARDOGS on X on 17 October 2026 at 11:02 UTC:

"Season 2 was meant to be a fresh start, and for a lot of you it hasn't felt like one. We sped up progression on deliberately and tried to balance the game better, as set out in the patch notes, but it was the wrong call. Some players are reaching end game gear like Tier 4 armour and MBTs within days, so the wipe never really landed. … We won't be doing a knee jerk reset this weekend, as that would be unfair on everyone already enjoying the climb. Instead, we're looking at significantly bringing forward Season 3 and some of its content, so you get a proper fresh start. More details in our dev vlog next week." — WARDOGS (BULKHEAD), 17 October 2026

That statement tells us four things:

  • No Season 3 reset happened this weekend (17–18 October). BULKHEAD ruled it out by name.
  • The plan covers Season 3 itself, not just its content. The wording is "bringing forward Season 3 and some of its content". The stated aim is "a proper fresh start", which in WARDOGS means a new wipe. It is still a plan under consideration, not a locked schedule.
  • More information is due in a dev vlog the week of 19 October. BULKHEAD hasn't said the vlog will include a date. Its devlogs appear on its YouTube channel and in Steam Community announcements (the Season 2 preview arrived that way on 9 October), and news can also land on the official X account.
  • "Looking at" is not a commitment. It is a stated plan with no date attached. Any site printing an exact Season 3 day today is guessing.

For context, Season 1 ran from the Early Access launch on 10 September 2026 to the scheduled Season 2 maintenance window on 15 October 2026 (08:00–09:30 UTC). That is about 35 days. BULKHEAD has never published a fixed season length, so those ~35 days are the only cadence evidence there is. If BULKHEAD goes ahead, "significantly" earlier than that points to a Season 2 noticeably shorter than five weeks. That is our inference, not a BULKHEAD number.

Why is BULKHEAD bringing Season 3 forward?

The short version is that BULKHEAD made Season 2 faster to level on purpose, and it overshot.

Season 1 had a deliberately slow curve. Season 2 relaxed it. The Season 02 patch notes on Steam (14 October 2026) say verbatim: "Levels 10 to 20 were a slow grind, and many players stalled out before unlocking the gear that defines each role. Reaching level 20 now takes less than half the playtime it did in Season 1." Here is the published role-track table:

A gentler curve on its own would not have broken the wipe. Two things on launch day made it worse:

  • A Driver-track exploit. PCGamesN reported that CEO Joe Brammer described players levelling Driver very quickly by setting up a nearby FOB and making rapid trips back and forth. That got tanks into play within hours. BULKHEAD's 15 October backend update listed "Driver Progression Fixes" and a fix for the exploit "preventing lots of players from accessing tanks too early". Brammer said the most obvious abusers, "less than a thousand people", got 24-hour bans.
  • The Blue Team bonus. Lonestar players got a Season-2-only cash and XP bonus, and BULKHEAD removed it within about a day. Skilled players piled onto Blue to farm it. We covered that separately in WARDOGS removed the Blue Team (Lonestar) bonus.

The result, in BULKHEAD's words, was players reaching "Tier 4 armour and MBTs within days", which is the opposite of a fresh start. One player summed up the weekday experience on r/WarDogs: they "got home after working on Thursday to some bloke in the blue team shooting choppers out the sky with a tank."

Brammer also explained why one curve can't please everyone. As reported by PCGamesN, he said: "We can't balance for both." One group is the people who play all day. The other is people with a couple of hours after work. Season 2 was built to lean toward the second group, and the always-online crowd hit end-game gear almost immediately.

What resets when the next WARDOGS wipe happens?

The reset rules haven't changed since BULKHEAD first laid them out in its Early Access & Beyond devlog (7 April 2026): "At the end of a season, your cash and XP progression will reset with your cash auto converted into gold bars… Your gold bars and cosmetics from a season will stay permanently on your account across seasons."

What you have nowAt the Season 3 wipe
Cash (the `$` balance)Resets. Leftover Cash auto-converts to Gold Bars
Role-track and WARDOG track XPResets
Unlocked weapons, vehicles and gearRe-locked. Each season brings a new curve
Gold BarsKept permanently
Gold Market cosmetics and camosKept permanently

Two details matter for planning:

  • Season 3 will probably have a different unlock order. BULKHEAD's Season 1 changelog said "Each season we will have a different XP curve with different item orders," and Season 2 proved it. The Deagle moved from WARDOG level 85 to 65, the Medical Bag from Medic 24 to 14, and the Defibrillator from Medic 11 to 22. BULKHEAD hasn't published the Season 3 curve, but after calling Season 2's faster progression "the wrong call", a slower curve is the more plausible direction. Either way, don't plan around today's gate numbers lasting.
  • The Cash-to-Gold-Bar rate has never been published, and it moves. We explain how the market behaved through the last wipe in WARDOGS Gold price after the Season 2 wipe. Our Cash-to-Gold-Bars conversion guide covers manual conversion before a reset. Note that in Season 2, the Gold Market itself is a WARDOG-track unlock at level 35 for $150,000 (Season 02 patch notes).

What is still coming in Season 2 before it ends?

If Season 2 is cut short, these planned features may arrive late, change or be folded into Season 3. Here is what BULKHEAD has said is still on the way:

  • Limited Mode servers. BULKHEAD's 15 October update listed these as "Coming Soon". PCGamesN reports Brammer saying they are planned for the mid-season update and will cap out level-four armour, power weapons, tanks and artillery. You could keep playing the early-to-mid game on purpose. This is BULKHEAD's direct answer to "everyone has MBTs already".
  • The Wager Vendor. The Season 02 patch notes say it is "not available at Season 2 launch. It will open later in Season 2," and that it is meant to come and go during a season. You stake your own banked Cash on objectives you set yourself.
  • More balance fixes. The 17 October post says "Some things are clearly out of balance and we'll fix them. Others have the community split, so we want to see how those play out first."

We'd expect the dev vlog to say which of these survive into Season 3. Until then, treat each one as planned, not dated.

How should you play the rest of WARDOGS Season 2?

A wipe may now come sooner than the Season 1 pace suggested, so it is worth adjusting. Here is how we'd approach the weeks before BULKHEAD gives a Season 3 date.

1. Decide what your Cash is for. Cash only lasts until the wipe, and leftover Cash converts to Gold Bars at a rate BULKHEAD has never published. That leaves two sensible uses. Spend it on gameplay now, the loadouts, vehicles and scopes you've been saving for, while they still matter. Or bank it for permanent cosmetic value through Gold Bars, which carry over. If you care about camos, banking is reasonable. If you don't, a big idle balance buys you little this season. Our pre-wipe spending guide has a priority order for the spending side.

2. Level toward gates you'll use soon. Before the 17 October announcement, a long climb to a far-off WARDOG-track gate made sense over a five-week season. With an earlier wipe on the table, aim for unlocks you'll actually play with soon, such as your role's signature weapon or the vehicle your squad needs. If you were chasing a tank, read our T-72 Season 2 breakdown before you put the hours in.

3. Earn through teamplay, as intended. BULKHEAD built the economy around teamplay. The Steam store page says "every teamplay action you perform rewards cash": reviving, transporting friendlies, building and holding the zone. The Hot Zone pays double. Don't chase exploits. The Driver ban wave shows BULKHEAD tracks fast, repetitive XP patterns, and its Update 0.1.2 notes promise zero tolerance for economy abuse.

4. Watch for BULKHEAD's next update. The dev vlog next week is the next promised source of Season 3 information, and official news also lands on Steam and X. Treat any countdown site with suspicion. BULKHEAD hadn't set a date when it posted on 17 October, so any date printed since then is someone else's guess.

5. Weigh the state of the game for yourself. The game is still busy. Steam's live player API showed 175,377 players online at 10:25 UTC on 18 October 2026, a Sunday morning in Europe. Steam reviews (all languages, all purchase types) read Mostly Positive: 89,822 positive and 35,154 negative of 124,976, about 72% in the same check. BULKHEAD has also corrected course in public within a day or two each time so far. None of that decides whether repeated wipes suit you. If you hate losing progress, an Early Access game with short seasons may not be for you yet.

Is WARDOGS Season 2 still worth grinding?

It can be, if you go in knowing progress is temporary. Season 2 added a lot: four new weapons (TCX-SPR, PP-19 Bizon, Evo-3 Ultra, M14), the Molotov, four vehicles including the T-72B3 and Flakpanzer Gepard, the rain weather preset and a full combat rebalance. All of it is in the patch notes. BULKHEAD hasn't said any of it will be removed at the wipe; what resets is your progress through it. The question is no longer "how far can I climb this season?" It's "what do I want to try before the slate is cleaned?"

If you're starting fresh this week, the fastest way to level up in WARDOGS still applies. Prioritise teamplay XP, stay in the zone, and level the track your squad is missing.

A note on accounts: the everplay group EULA for WARDOGS (updated 10 September 2026) lists "boosting, account sharing, or multi-accounting" and "the purchase, sale, or exchange of in-game advantages, accounts, ranks, or progression for real-world value" as cheating (§14.1), and BULKHEAD's patch notes say economy abuse and real-money trading can lead to progression resets and permanent bans. We make no claim about what BULKHEAD permits and offer no protection from its enforcement. We can only speak for our own process, our guarantee and our refund policy. Rent a Pro is the option where you play on your own account yourself.

FAQ

When is the WARDOGS Season 3 release date? There isn't one yet. On 17 October 2026, BULKHEAD said it is "looking at significantly bringing forward Season 3" and promised more details in a dev vlog the following week (the week of 19 October). It didn't say the vlog will include a date. Any exact WARDOGS Season 3 date published before BULKHEAD gives one is a guess.

Is WARDOGS resetting this weekend? No. BULKHEAD said it "won't be doing a knee jerk reset this weekend, as that would be unfair on everyone already enjoying the climb." Instead, it is looking at moving up the next season rather than running an emergency wipe of Season 2.

Will I lose my Cash and levels when WARDOGS Season 3 starts? Yes. Under BULKHEAD's stated rules, Cash and XP reset at the end of a season, and leftover Cash auto-converts to Gold Bars. Gold Bars and cosmetics stay on your account permanently.

Why did WARDOGS Season 2 feel like it never wiped? BULKHEAD sped up the Season 2 XP curve (level 20 needs 111,500 XP, down from 250,000 in Season 1). On top of that, a Driver-track exploit and the short-lived Lonestar bonus let some players reach "Tier 4 armour and MBTs within days," in BULKHEAD's words.

Will WARDOGS Season 3 level faster or slower than Season 2? BULKHEAD hasn't published the Season 3 curve. It has called the faster Season 2 progression "the wrong call", though, and every season gets a new XP curve and item order. A slower climb than Season 2 is the likely direction, but wait for the dev vlog before planning around it.

What are WARDOGS Limited Mode servers? They are a planned server type, listed as "Coming Soon" by BULKHEAD on 15 October 2026. They cap out top-tier gear such as level-four armour, power weapons, tanks and artillery, so you can play the early-to-mid game on purpose. They are reported for the mid-season update and have no date yet.
