Quick answer (last checked 20 October 2026, 08:47 UTC, Version 3.7). Lucilla is a 5-star Glacio Rectifier sub-DPS with two Resonance Modes. In Glacio Chafe mode run 5-piece Wishes of Quiet Snowfall with Glommoth as the main Echo; in Echo mode run 5-piece Moonlit Clouds with Impermanence Heron. Main stats are 4-cost Crit. Rate or Crit. DMG, 3-cost Glacio DMG Bonus (or ATK), 1-cost ATK, in a 4-3-3-1-1 layout. Her best weapon is her signature Freeze Frame; Cosmic Ripples and the 4-star Augment are the fallbacks Kuro Games itself lists. Skill priority is Liberation, Forte Circuit, Resonance Skill to level 10. Her best team is Hiyuki / Lucilla / Suisui (or Chisa). Her rerun banner "Tomorrow in the Frame" runs 22 October 10:00 to 11 November 11:59 server time, with Freeze Frame on the paired weapon banner.
Lucilla has been out since Version 3.4, so this is not a first-impressions guide. Every kit number and the recommended Echo, weapon and team lists come from Kuro Games' own Resonator Review for Lucilla, published 19 October 2026, and the in-game skill text. Where we rank options or give pull advice, we say so and lean on the community consensus of the WuWa Wiki build page (which aggregates seven creator guides) and Prydwen. Leaks are not used anywhere on this page.
What does Lucilla do in Wuthering Waves?
Kuro Games describes her as "President of Startorch Academy and idealist with both feet on the ground", and the Resonator Review lists five combat roles: Concerto Efficiency, Basic Attack DMG, Echo Skill DMG, Glacio Chafe and Echo Skill DMG Amplification. That list is the whole build in one line: she is a second-slot buffer, not your main damage dealer, and which buffs she gives depends on the Resonance Mode you pick.
Prydwen sums it up the same way: "Lucilla is a 5-star Glacio Rectifier Hybrid character who works as a 2nd slot buffer for Glacio Chafe and Echo Skill Damage-based teams according to her Resonance Mode."
| Fact | Value |
|---|---|
| Rarity / Attribute / Weapon | 5-star, Glacio, Rectifier |
| Role | Sub-DPS / buffer (hybrid) |
| Resonance Modes | Glacio Chafe, Echo |
| Resonance Energy cost of Liberation | 0 (needs 3 Photos instead) |
| Signature weapon | Freeze Frame (5-star Rectifier) |
| First released | Version 3.4 (June 2026) |
| Current rerun | 3.7 Phase II, 22 Oct to 11 Nov 2026 |
How does her Focus Ring and Photo loop work?
Her rotation is built around a timing minigame. Kuro's official text for her Resonance Skill reads: "Hold Resonance Skill to deploy a ring, dealing Glacio DMG. Landing the cursor within the highlight area allows Lucilla to cast Enhanced Resonance Skill, dealing increased Glacio DMG and restoring additional Forte Gauge."
In practice:
- Her Forte gauge is called Trace and holds up to 150 points. Every 50 Trace becomes one Photo, and she holds up to 3 Photos.
- Her Intro Skill, Clip It, restores 100 Trace. A perfect Resonance Skill hit (Spotlight) or a perfect Basic Attack Stage 3 (Commendable) restores 50; a missed timing (Compensate or Unremarkable) restores only 25.
- Spotlight also restores 20 Concerto Energy, and in Glacio Chafe mode adds an extra stack of Glacio Chafe.
- With 3 Photos she can cast her Liberation, Clear As Day, which costs 0 Resonance Energy. That is why every build guide agrees she needs no Energy Regen.
- Clear As Day puts her into Reminiscence: her Basic Attacks become Tracing Forms, she spends Photos on Oblivion hits, and the string ends with Letting It Go, which restores another 20 Concerto Energy and ends the state.
If you keep missing the cursor, the build below barely matters. Practise the timing in the training room before you spend tuners on her.
What is the difference between Glacio Chafe mode and Echo mode?
Lucilla is two characters in one kit. You choose the mode, and the mode decides which damage type her Liberation counts as and which team buffs she hands out.
| Effect | Glacio Chafe mode | Echo mode |
|---|---|---|
| Liberation damage type | Basic Attack DMG | Echo Skill DMG |
| Liberation self-buff | +30% Basic Attack DMG Bonus, 10s | +30% Echo Skill DMG Bonus, 10s |
| Forte stacks | Film Roll: when another active Resonator inflicts Glacio Chafe, Lucilla adds 2 more applications (once per 0.5s) | Zoom: +10% Crit. DMG on the active Resonator's Echo Skill per stack |
| Inherent Skill on Spotlight | Enemy Glacio RES -8% for 30s | Team +25% Echo Skill DMG Bonus for 30s |
| Outro Skill (Montage) | Glacio Chafe DMG around the active Resonator Amplified by 60% for 30s | Incoming Resonator gets 50% Echo Skill DMG Amplification for 14s |
| Echo set (official) | Wishes of Quiet Snowfall, 5 pieces | Moonlit Clouds, 5 pieces |
Her second Inherent Skill raises the caps to 10 Film Roll and 4 Zoom stacks, and every Photo she spends grants 2 Film Roll or 1 Zoom. Switching Resonance Mode ends all of these buffs early, so pick one per team and leave it.
Which mode should you use? Use Glacio Chafe mode with Hiyuki, which is where Lucilla is strongest and where both SS-rated community teams sit. Use Echo mode with Echo Skill carries such as Sigrika, Galbrena or Phrolova. If you only own one of those carries, build only that mode's set first.
What are the best Echoes for Lucilla?
Kuro's official recommendation is a straight 5-piece set per mode, with the main stats shown on the card above. The main Echo picks come from the community consensus, where all seven guides tracked by the WuWa Wiki agree.
| Mode | Echo set | Main Echo | Why |
|---|---|---|---|
| Glacio Chafe | 5-pc Wishes of Quiet Snowfall | Glommoth (3-cost) | Raises Glacio DMG after she applies Glacio Chafe and passes a Glacio buff to the next Resonator through her Outro |
| Echo | 5-pc Moonlit Clouds | Impermanence Heron (4-cost) | Supports the incoming Resonator after her Outro, which is exactly where her Echo-mode buffs land |
What main stats and substats should Lucilla use?
| Slot | Main stat |
|---|---|
| 4-cost | Crit. Rate or Crit. DMG |
| 3-cost (x2) | Glacio DMG Bonus or ATK% |
| 1-cost (x2) | ATK% |
Use the 4-3-3-1-1 cost layout. For substats, go Crit. Rate = Crit. DMG, then ATK%, then Basic Attack DMG Bonus, then flat ATK. Skip Energy Regen entirely: her Liberation has no Resonance Energy cost.
Community end-game targets at level 90 are roughly 70% Crit. Rate, 250% Crit. DMG and 2,150 ATK. Freeze Frame carries Crit. Rate as its secondary stat, which is why most builds put Crit. DMG on the 4-cost when she has her signature.
Note the cost of flexibility. Running both modes means farming two full 5-piece sets, and Prydwen points out that if you also want a third team-specific set, that is "3 different sets to build total to access her full flexibility". Build one mode properly before you start the second.
What is the best weapon for Lucilla?
Kuro's Resonator Review lists four weapons: Freeze Frame and Cosmic Ripples (5-star), and Augment and Radiant Dawn (4-star).
| Weapon | Rarity | Lv. 90 stats | Why it fits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Freeze Frame | 5-star, limited (signature) | 587.5 ATK, 24.3% Crit. Rate | +12% ATK; after she inflicts Glacio Chafe, +30% Glacio DMG Bonus for 12s and +24% ATK to the whole team for 30s (R1) |
| Cosmic Ripples | 5-star, standard | 500 ATK, 54% ATK | Stacking Basic Attack DMG Bonus; strongest free-to-own option |
| Rime-Draped Sprouts | 5-star, limited | 500 ATK, 72% Crit. DMG | Community stand-in if you already own it |
| Augment | 4-star | 412.5 ATK, 20.25% Crit. Rate | +15% ATK for 15s after Liberation (R1) |
| Radiant Dawn | 4-star | n/a | Listed by Kuro as a 4-star option |
Is Freeze Frame worth it? It is the only option on the list with a team-wide buff, and Lucilla inflicts Glacio Chafe constantly in Chafe mode, so the 24% team ATK is close to permanent. Prydwen's note matters here: in Chafe mode the signature is "quite skippable", but in Echo mode "weapon alternatives become exponentially worse". So: Hiyuki-only players can stop at Cosmic Ripples or Augment; Echo-team players get far more from Freeze Frame. Freeze Frame is on the 3.7 Phase II weapon banner with a 100% guarantee for the featured 5-star weapon (Kuro Games, Version 3.7 update notice).
What is Lucilla's skill priority?
Inherent Skills unlock with Ascension, so take both as soon as you can. Then level in this order:
- Resonance Liberation (Clear As Day) to 10. Her whole damage window sits inside Reminiscence.
- Forte Circuit (Memory Palace) to 10. It holds Oblivion and the mode buffs.
- Resonance Skill (Phantom Frame) to 10. Spotlight triggers her Inherent buffs and refunds Concerto Energy.
- Basic Attack and Intro Skill to 6.
Which Lucilla Sequences (Resonance Chains) matter?
You do not need any Sequences for her support role. Lucilla works at S0 in both modes. If you pull extra copies, these are the breakpoints worth knowing (in-game text):
- S1, Distant Noon: the first Perfect Focus during Resonance Skill (Phantom Frame) fills the whole Focus Ring, Spotlight grants +20% Crit. Rate for 10s, and key attacks become uninterruptible. A big quality-of-life upgrade.
- S2, Slumbering Moonlight: her Liberation grants the team 80% Glacio Chafe Amplification (Chafe mode) or 40% Echo Skill DMG Bonus (Echo mode), lasting through Reminiscence and 30s after. This is the strongest support node.
- S3, Days Fade Unheard: Letting It Go multiplier +100%.
- S6, Gazing In the Mist of Time: each Photo spent adds 200% to Letting It Go, up to 600%. This is where she can be played as a main DPS.
Our view: S0 with a good set is enough for current endgame. If you have spare Astrite after your priorities, S2 is a better target than the signature for Glacio Chafe teams, and the signature is the better target for Echo teams.
What are the best Lucilla teams?
Kuro Games lists four teams in the Resonator Review. The community ratings come from the WuWa Wiki team tier list (updated for 3.7 on 11 October 2026).
| Team | Lucilla mode | Community rating |
|---|---|---|
| Hiyuki / Lucilla / Suisui | Glacio Chafe | SS (best team) |
| Hiyuki / Lucilla / Chisa | Glacio Chafe | SS |
| Sigrika / Lucilla / Shorekeeper | Echo | S |
| Galbrena / Lucilla / Shorekeeper | Echo | Official pick |
| Phrolova / Lucilla / Shorekeeper or Cantarella | Echo | Official pick |
Who can replace Suisui or Shorekeeper?
In the Hiyuki team, the healer slot is flexible: Shorekeeper, Mornye or the free standard 5-star Verina all work. If you do not own Hiyuki at all, Lucilla's value drops sharply. Glacio Chafe teams are built around Hiyuki, and Echo mode needs one of the Echo Skill carries above.
Lucilla or Lynae for Hiyuki?
This is the question players are actually asking this week, because Lynae reruns in the same Phase II, on her own banner (Undefined Spectrum). In a r/WutheringWaves thread this week, one player put it as Lucilla being "only a little better than Lynae", and several replies agreed that if you already own Lynae, Lucilla's main value is freeing Lynae for a second team in Tower of Adversity or Whimpering Wastes. Another player shared their last-reset result with S0R1 Hiyuki, S0R0 Lucilla and S0R0 Suisui, which supports the "she does not need her signature in Chafe mode" view. For a full comparison of the three Phase II banners, see our Wuthering Waves banner guide.
Where does Lucilla rank in the 3.7 tier list?
She is high on every major list, but always as a buffer, not a carry:
- Prydwen (Tower of Adversity, 3.7): T0, hybrid category. Its pull-value note calls her the best pick for Glacio Chafe teams and one of the best for Echo damage teams.
- WuWa Wiki (Tower of Adversity): S.
- Game8: Tier 1.5.
See our Wuthering Waves tier list for how she compares with Lynae, Iuno and the other hybrids. That page is refreshed in place at each phase change.
Should you pull Lucilla on her 3.7 rerun?
Our verdict, based on the guide consensus above:
- Pull if you own Hiyuki, or an Echo Skill carry (Sigrika, Galbrena, Phrolova). Game8 rates her 4/5 and calls her a must-pull for those accounts.
- Consider if you own Lynae and want a second strong team. Lucilla lets Lynae go elsewhere.
- Skip if you have none of those carries. She buffs specific teams; she does not carry an account on her own.
How many pulls? Kuro's official Convene rules give a 0.8% base 5-star rate, 80-pull hard pity, and a 50/50 on the featured Resonator that turns into a guarantee after a loss. Your guarantee carries over from Phase I. Budget up to 160 pulls for a guaranteed Lucilla from zero pity, and the weapon banner is a guaranteed featured 5-star at 80. If you are short, make sure you have claimed every active code on our Wuthering Waves codes page first.
What materials does Lucilla need?
Totals for level 1 to 90 (in-game ascension table):
| Material | Amount | Use |
|---|---|---|
| Suncoveter's Reach | 46 | Ascension (boss drop: Hyvatia) |
| Forget-Me-Not | 60 | Ascension (overworld collectible) |
| Mech Core (LF to FF) | Several tiers | Ascension and skills |
| Shell Credits | 170,000 | Ascension only |
| We Who Question | 26 | All five skills to 10, both Inherent Skills and all stat nodes |
| Spliced String line (Spliced, Broken, Solidified, Melodic) | 25 / 28 / 55 / 67 | Same full skill tree |
If you plan to pull on 22 October, farm the Forget-Me-Not now. Collection spots respawn on a timer, and they are the slowest part of a fresh level 90.

What is the best Echo set for Lucilla? Five pieces of Wishes of Quiet Snowfall in Glacio Chafe mode, or five pieces of Moonlit Clouds in Echo mode. Use Glommoth or Impermanence Heron as the main Echo.
Does Lucilla need Energy Regen? No. Her Liberation, Clear As Day, costs 0 Resonance Energy and unlocks with 3 Photos, so all substats can go to Crit. and ATK.
Is Freeze Frame worth pulling for Lucilla? It is her best weapon and gives the whole team +24% ATK at R1. It matters most in Echo mode; in Glacio Chafe mode Cosmic Ripples or Augment are acceptable.
When is Lucilla's rerun? Version 3.7 Phase II, "Tomorrow in the Frame", from 22 October 2026 10:00 to 11 November 2026 11:59 server time, alongside Suoming and Lynae.
