ZZZ Promeia Build (Version 3.2): Best W-Engine, Drive Discs and Teams for Her First Rerun

Promeia has never had a rerun. She launched in Version 2.8 on May 6, ran for three weeks, and left. Four days from now she comes back — and almost nobody is talking about her, because Roxy is on the same banner half and Roxy is new.

That is the arbitrage. It also means most of the "Promeia build" advice online is four months stale, written during her debut by sites that had her kit for a day.

Quick answer: Promeia is an S-Rank Ice Anomaly Agent who reruns on the Cold Rain Wanes in the Night Signal Search from 2026/09/30 12:00 to 2026/10/20 14:59 server time, Version 3.2 Phase II. Her whole build is one number: her Core Passive only pays out if her initial Anomaly Mastery exceeds 150, and Anomaly Mastery is the single hardest stat in the game to reach, because it is not in the Drive Disc sub-stat pool at all. Best W-Engine is her Exclusive Frostfall Sickle. Best disc set is Notes From the Chained, which reads like it was written for her. Her Additional Ability does nothing unless one of her two teammates is an Anomaly or Support Agent — that is a squad requirement, not a bonus.

Is Promeia coming back in Zenless Zone Zero Version 3.2?

Yes, and on the same banner name she debuted with. Her Signal Search is Cold Rain Wanes in the Night, and the channel's listed duration is 2026/09/30 12:00 to 2026/10/20 14:59 server time. Her debut run of the identically named channel was May 6 to May 27, 2026, in Version 2.8 — so this is the first re-pull decision anyone has had to make on her.

That window lines up exactly with the hard first-party datapoint: HoYoverse's V3.2 Limited-Time Channels (Phase I) notice puts the end of Phase I at 2026/09/30 11:59 server time, and every second-half channel the game has ever shipped has opened at 12:00 on that same day — a one-minute swap. Read "server time" as your own account's region: the same 12:00 unlock is 13 hours apart for an Asia account and an America account. She shares the half with Roxy, whose own channel and the Frostfall Sickle W-Engine channel run on identical dates. The Phase II notice itself is still pending — it is due around September 28, and it is what turns the times above into a printed fact. Our ZZZ 3.2 banner schedule tracks the whole version, and the Roxy page covers the other half of this banner.

One thing genuinely is not listed yet: the 4-star lineup on the rerun. On her debut channel the rate-up A-Ranks were Soukaku and Luciana de Montefio. Do not assume it repeats.

What does Promeia actually do?

Everything in her kit is a loop that converts hits into one specific payload. It is worth reading once, because the build follows directly from it.

She generates Corrosive Chill when her attacks land. On top of that baseline, her Core Passive grants an extra 5 Corrosive Chill when a squad member triggers Freeze, 5 on Disorder, 5 when the enemy is inflicted with Vortex, and 10 when she triggers EX Special Attack: Execution - Shrouded in Shadow. When any squad member triggers and hits with Abloom, she gains 15. The cap is 100.

At 50 Corrosive Chill, 50 is consumed and becomes 1 point of Trial by Cold, up to a maximum of 2. She also walks onto the field with 2 points already banked.

Trial by Cold is spent on EX Special Attack: Execution - Merciless Judgment, the hold-input finisher that chains off the fifth hit of her Basic Attack or off either of her landing Specials. When its finishing move hits an enemy carrying an Ice, Ether, Electric, Fire, Physical or Wind Anomaly, it triggers Abloom for 330% Attribute Anomaly DMG at Core Lv. 1, scaling to 635% at Lv. 7.

Two more skills trigger Abloom for free: Chain Attack: Hanging Judgment at 100%, and Ultimate: Glaciating Impalement at 250%. Every Abloom she triggers herself also refunds 100 Decibels (once per 0.5s), and the Ultimate grants Frost Oath, which lets her immediately follow a Merciless Judgment, Chain Attack or Ultimate with the heavier Special Attack: Execution - Layered Frost.

So: she wants Anomalies already on the target, Abloom triggers from anywhere in the squad, and enough Anomaly Mastery to make her Core Passive legal.

Why does Promeia need 150 Anomaly Mastery, and where does it come from?

Here is her Core Passive, verbatim:

"If Promeia's initial Anomaly Mastery exceeds 150, each additional point increases her Anomaly Proficiency by 1.5 and increases the whole squad's Abloom DMG by 0.35%."

That is a squad-wide buff gated behind a stat check. And Anomaly Mastery — which is worth 1% Anomaly Buildup Rate per point — is the most supply-constrained stat in Zenless Zone Zero. Here is the complete list of places it exists.

Drive Discs. Partition 6 is the only slot whose main stat can roll Anomaly Mastery%, at 7.5% to 30% on an S-Rank disc. Exactly one set in the entire 30-set pool grants any: Phaethon's Melody, 2-Piece Bonus, Anomaly Mastery +8%.

Sub-stats. None. The sub-stat pool is HP, ATK, DEF, HP%, ATK%, DEF%, CRIT Rate%, CRIT DMG%, Anomaly Proficiency and PEN. Anomaly Mastery is simply not on the list. You cannot farm your way to this threshold. That is what makes it different from every other stat check in the game.

W-Engines, as an advanced stat. Three exist, all with the same 12%–30% range: Angel in the Shell, Neon Fantasies, and Frostfall Sickle — Promeia's own.

W-Engines, as an effect. Four more grant it through their passive: (Magnetic Storm) Alpha (+25~40 for 10s on Anomaly Buildup, once every 20s), (Reverb) Mark II (squad-wide +10~16 for 10s), Practiced Perfection (a flat +60~96, unconditional), and Metanukimorphosis (+30~48 for 40s on Physical EX/Ultimate).

Her own Core Skill Enhancement. +12 at Agent Lv. 15, +12 at Lv. 35, +12 at Lv. 55 — +36 total at max. Leveling her Core is not optional polish on this Agent. It is 36 points of a 150-point gate.

Two consequences that most build pages skip:

The word "initial" matters. The game applies unconditional bonuses and freezes your stats when combat starts; conditional in-combat buffs are calculated off that frozen number. A timed passive like (Magnetic Storm) Alpha's 10-second window is very unlikely to count toward "initial," which makes it a worse fit here than its raw number suggests.

And percentages need a base you cannot see. Frostfall Sickle's 30% and Phaethon's Melody's 8% and the Partition 6 main stat are all multipliers on Promeia's base Anomaly Mastery — a figure HoYoverse does not publish per Agent, and which does not appear in her stat table alongside base HP, ATK and DEF. So if a site hands you an exact "Promeia reaches 187 AM" total, that number came off a datamine, not a source. The honest framing is structural: stack the sources above, and remember that Practiced Perfection's +60~96 is the only Anomaly Mastery figure in the game you can add without knowing her base.

What is the best W-Engine for Promeia?

Frostfall Sickle, her Exclusive, and it is not close.

It is the only W-Engine in the game that solves both halves of her problem at once. The advanced stat is Anomaly Mastery 12%–30%, feeding the gate. The passive, Terminating Verdict, feeds the payout: when an Ice equipper uses a Special or EX Special, Ice DMG +20~32% for 40 seconds, stacking twice — and at 2 stacks, Abloom DMG +35~50%. A 40-second duration on a character who uses EX Specials as her core rotation means you live at 2 stacks permanently.

Nothing else does both. The two alternatives worth knowing:

  • Practiced Perfection (Anomaly specialty, so she can equip it) gives the largest flat Anomaly Mastery in the game at +60~96, unconditional. Its damage half — Physical DMG on Assault — is completely dead on her. This is the "I need the threshold and I do not have her signature" pick, not a damage pick.
  • (Magnetic Storm) Alpha is the accessible option, but as noted, its +25~40 is a timed 10-second window on a 20-second cooldown, which is the wrong shape for an "initial" stat check.

Our ZZZ W-Engine tier list ranks the wider pool by Specialty if you are comparing across your box.

What are the best Drive Discs for Promeia?

4-piece Notes From the Chained is the answer, and you only have to read the set text to see why:

2-Piece: Ice DMG +10%. 4-Piece: When the equipper triggers Abloom, their Anomaly Proficiency increases by 48 for 30s; repeated triggers reset the duration. When the equipper triggers a Freeze effect, their All-Attribute Anomaly DMG and Disorder DMG increase by 16% for 30s; repeated triggers reset the duration.

Ice attribute, Abloom trigger, Freeze trigger, 30-second windows she refreshes constantly, and it buffs Anomaly DMG rather than CRIT. Every clause lands on her.

For the remaining two slots, pick a 2-piece by what you are short of:

  • Phaethon's Melody — the only Anomaly Mastery bonus in the disc pool, +8%. Take it if you are chasing the 150 gate.
  • Freedom Blues, Feathered Fate or Chaos Jazz — all three give Anomaly Proficiency +30, which is raw Anomaly damage.

The set to consciously not use: Branch & Blade Song. It has an Anomaly Mastery threshold of its own (115 points) and it references Freeze and Shatter, so it looks tailor-made. But both halves of what it pays are CRIT — CRIT DMG +16% on the 2-piece, CRIT DMG +30% and CRIT Rate +12% on the 4-piece — and Promeia's damage arrives as Attribute Anomaly DMG through Abloom. Nothing in her skill text scales off CRIT. It is the most seductive wrong answer in her build.

Main stats: Partition 4 → Anomaly Proficiency (or ATK%), Partition 5 → Attribute DMG Bonus%, Partition 6 → Anomaly Mastery%. Partition 6 is an easy call on her, because it is the only slot AM% exists in and its competing options are Impact% and Energy Regen% — stats built for Stun and Support Agents, not for her. Sub-stat priority is Anomaly Proficiency, then ATK%, then flat ATK — and never CRIT, for the reason above. Full set-by-set breakdown lives in our ZZZ best Drive Discs guide.

What are the best teams for Promeia?

Her Additional Ability, Vessel of Ice, opens with a conditional that most team guides bury:

"When another character in your squad is an Anomaly or Support character: When using an EX Special Attack, Promeia's Ice Anomaly Buildup Rate increases by 30% for 30s... When any squad member applies the Frostbite effect to an enemy, its duration is increased by 3s. When Promeia's EX Special Attack hits an enemy, it inflicts Presumption of Guilt. When any squad member triggers Abloom on a target with Presumption of Guilt, it ignores 40% of the target's DEF."

Read that as a rule, not a perk. If neither teammate is an Anomaly or a Support Agent, she loses all of it — including the squad-wide 40% DEF ignore on Abloom, which is the single largest number in her kit. A Promeia / Stun / Attack comp is a bricked Promeia.

So the slotting rules are:

  • One slot is reserved. Anomaly or Support, no exceptions. This is the only hard constraint in her build.
  • A second Anomaly Agent is better for her than a Stun Agent. Her Core Passive pays her 5 Corrosive Chill on Disorder and 15 on any squad member's Abloom. A second Anomaly of a different attribute generates Disorder off her Ice, which feeds her resource loop and gets paid twice.
  • An Ice Support is the low-friction option. It satisfies the gate, buffs her directly, and extends the Frostbite duration her Additional Ability is already lengthening. Soukaku is the accessible Ice Support and appeared on Promeia's debut banner — though as noted, the rerun's 4-star lineup has not been published.
  • The Abloom trigger count is the real KPI. Her Chain Attack triggers Abloom at 100%, her Ultimate at 250%, and every squad-member Abloom hands her 15 Corrosive Chill. Build the rotation to maximise Abloom events, not Basic Attack strings.

Which Promeia Mindscapes actually matter?

Promeia Mindscape Cinema artwork from Zenless Zone Zero

  • M1 — Innocent Idealism. Ultimate grants an extra Trial by Cold point if you are not capped, and squad Abloom on a Presumption of Guilt target ignores an additional 20% DEF (on top of the 40% from her Additional Ability). A squad-wide damage node at M1 is unusually strong.
  • M2 — Faltering Conviction. Anomaly Proficiency +40, and the multiplier of Abloom triggered by consuming Trial by Cold increases by 120%. This is the biggest single damage jump in her cinema. If you are stopping anywhere, stop here.
  • M3 and M5 are skill levels only (+2 to Basic Attack, Dodge, Assist, Special and Chain).
  • M4 — Ruthless Accusation. 5 Corrosive Chill per Abloom trigger, up to once every 0.5s. Pure rotation smoothing.
  • M6 — To Be Continued. A bonus 200% Abloom on Trial by Cold consumption plus 5 Corrosive Chill and 100 Decibels back, once per 15s, and her Anomaly and Disorder DMG ignores 15% of enemy All-Attribute RES.

Practical read: M0 is fully functional, M1 is the best value-per-copy, M2 is where the damage curve bends, and M3–M5 are filler on the way to M6.

What ascension and skill materials does Promeia need?

Farm these before the banner if you intend to pull, because the Version 3.2 event window closes with the patch on 2026/10/21 per the official Version 3.2 update announcement.

Promotion, Lv. 1 → 60 (Promotion 1 → 5): 800,000 Denny · Basic Anomaly Certification Seal ×4 · Advanced Anomaly Certification Seal ×32 · Controller Certification Seal ×30.

Each individual skill, Lv. 1 → 12: 500,000 Denny · Basic Freeze Chip ×5 · Advanced Freeze Chip ×15 · Specialized Freeze Chip ×50 · Hamster Cage Pass ×1. That is per skill — five skill tracks means five times that bill.

Core Skill Enhancement to max: 405,000 Denny · Marrow-Draining Thorn ×9 · Higher Dimensional Data: Toxic Edge ×60. This is the track that carries her +36 Anomaly Mastery and takes her Core Passive from 330% to 635%. Do not treat it as endgame polish.

Each Mindscape: Agent Focus: Promeia ×1.

Should you pull Promeia, or save for Roxy?

Both are on Phase II, and pity is shared across Exclusive Channels — so this is a genuine either/or for most accounts, not a "get both" situation.

Pull Promeia if: you want an Ice Anomaly carry, you already own an Anomaly or Support Agent to satisfy her gate, and you are willing to also chase Frostfall Sickle. Her build is unusually equipment-dependent — the 150 Anomaly Mastery gate is most cleanly cleared with her own W-Engine, and the W-Engine channel is a separate budget with a separate counter.

Save for Roxy if: you need a Stun Agent, or you are pity-poor. Roxy is the first Wind Stun Agent in the game, and a first-of-archetype release fills a roster hole that a rerun cannot.

Skip both if your Polychrome will not fund one channel to a guarantee. Read our ZZZ pity system breakdown for what a guarantee actually costs before you commit Polychrome to either channel.

One data point on the sentiment: across this week's pull-advice threads on the ZZZ subreddits, the discussion is entirely Claret versus Roxy. Promeia is barely mentioned. That is not evidence she is bad — she was strong enough on debut to get a same-version rerun slot four months later — it is evidence that the people deciding right now have not looked at her kit.

What is not confirmed yet?

  • The Phase II notice. Due around 2026-09-28. The 09/30 12:00 open is a projection from a consistent pattern, not a printed time.
  • The rerun's 4-star lineup. Not listed. Her debut had Soukaku and Luciana de Montefio; assume nothing.
  • Promeia's base Anomaly Mastery. Not published per Agent anywhere first-party. Every exact AM total you see online is calculated from data extraction.
  • Whether Phaethon's Melody's 2-piece counts toward "initial." The game's own stat framework lists Drive Disc stats as unconditional but Drive Disc set bonuses among the conditional ones, which leaves a flat 2-piece stat bonus in a grey zone. Treat it as a bonus, not as load-bearing for the gate.
  • Her position in the 3.2 meta. No official balance data exists, and her rerun has not happened yet.

FAQ

When does Promeia rerun in ZZZ? Her Cold Rain Wanes in the Night Signal Search runs 2026/09/30 12:00 to 2026/10/20 14:59 server time, in Version 3.2 Phase II. Version 3.2 Phase I ends 2026/09/30 at 11:59 server time, and Phase II channels have always opened at 12:00 the same day.

Is this Promeia's first rerun? Yes. Her only previous appearance was her debut, May 6 to May 27, 2026, in Version 2.8.

What is Promeia's best W-Engine? Frostfall Sickle, her Exclusive. It is the only W-Engine that both carries Anomaly Mastery as its advanced stat (12%–30%) and multiplies her Abloom damage by 35~50% at two stacks of Terminating Verdict.

What is the best Drive Disc set for Promeia? 4-piece Notes From the Chained, with a 2-piece of Phaethon's Melody if you need Anomaly Mastery or Freedom Blues, Feathered Fate or Chaos Jazz if you want Anomaly Proficiency instead.

Why does Promeia need 150 Anomaly Mastery? Her Core Passive, Thief of Flames, only activates above that number. Past 150, every additional point gives her 1.5 Anomaly Proficiency and gives the entire squad 0.35% Abloom DMG. Below it, that clause does nothing at all.

Can you get Anomaly Mastery from Drive Disc sub-stats? No. Anomaly Mastery is not in the sub-stat pool. It comes only from a Partition 6 main stat, the Phaethon's Melody 2-piece, seven specific W-Engines, and her own Core Skill Enhancement. That is why the threshold is a build constraint rather than a farming target.

Who should you play with Promeia? At least one of her two teammates must be an Anomaly or Support Agent, or her entire Additional Ability — including the squad-wide 40% DEF ignore on Abloom — switches off. A second Anomaly Agent of a different attribute is the stronger choice, because Disorder and squad Abloom both feed her Corrosive Chill.

Which Promeia Mindscape is worth it? M1 for the extra 20% DEF ignore, M2 for the +120% Abloom multiplier. M3 and M5 are only skill levels.

Should you pull Promeia or Roxy? Roxy if you need a Stun Agent or are short on pity, since she is the first Wind Stun Agent in the game. Promeia if you want an Ice Anomaly carry and can fund her W-Engine channel too — her build leans harder on her signature than most.
