Roxy's Character Demo went live today. If you have been saving since Claret dropped, this is the five-day warning.
Quick answer: Roxy is an S-Rank Wind Stun Agent, chief smith of the Flint Workshop, arriving on the Cindernight Respite Signal Search in the second half of Version 3.2. HoYoverse has not printed a date on her banner, but Phase I ends 2026/09/30 at 11:59 server time, and every Phase II channel HoYoverse has ever published has opened at 12:00 on that same day. Her signature W-Engine is Crimson Moon Casket (Stun). Her core mechanic is officially named Eyes of the Storm. Promeia reruns alongside her.
Who is Roxy in Zenless Zone Zero?
Her full name is Roxy Ifrita Pryce. She belongs to the Roscaelifer Flint Workshop, the faction headed by Claret — the workshop HoYoverse titled a 2026-09-05 lore post after, "Fire and Radiance Forge My Blood and Bone."
Her Agent Record, published 2026-08-07, is the best read on her personality, because it is the only place HoYoverse has printed her dialogue in bulk. Roxy, to her boss: "Milady, you said everything was going according to plan... I assume 'getting lost' is also a part of that plan, too." The same card is where the coffin she carries gets its deadpan sales pitch: "Coffins may serve a simple and single purpose, but their user reviews have always been consistent."
Today's Character Demo, titled "A Mysterious Coffin Bearer," adds one more, and it is the line the whole marketing beat is built on: "Strictly speaking... This isn't part of my responsibilities... I just... Wanna go home... And sleep!"
HoYoverse doubled down on that framing fifteen minutes after the demo went up, with a second Flint Workshop post, "Full Moon's Glow." Claret is mid-transformation; Roxy is reading off a clipboard: "Milady, Porcelloy reactivity peaks on the day of the full moon, and it'll last approximately six hours. It's all been documented." Then, a beat later: "Understood, milady. The Cuppa Moment Full Moon limited-edition dessert set is all laid out for you. Would you like to have it now?"
She is the overworked competent one. That is the pitch, and HoYoverse has not deviated from it once.
What has HoYoverse actually confirmed about Roxy?
Three things, all first-party, all printed in official notices rather than inferred:
- Rank, Attribute and Specialty. The Version 3.2 Update Announcement lists "S-Rank Agent Roxy (Wind - Stun)" and says she "Can be obtained through the 'Cindernight Respite' Signal Search."
- Signature W-Engine. The same notice lists "S-Rank W-Engine Crimson Moon Casket (Stun)," obtainable through its own Signal Search channel.
- Her kit's core mechanic. HoYoverse's Version 3.2 press release, dated August 28, 2026, describes it directly: her core mechanic is "built around Eyes of the Storm: holding her EX Special Attack creates a tornado on the field, forming an Eye of the Storm, following which it can gather and detonate Eyes of the Storm on the field to create one massive tornado. Her Ultimate can generate multiple tornadoes that unleash a powerful strike at enemies in front in a large area."
That press release also confirms the rerun slot: "For reruns, the first and second halves will respectively feature the return of S-Rank Agents Nangong Yu and Promeia along with their Exclusive W-Engines." Nangong Yu already ran in Phase I. Promeia is the Phase II rerun.
What is not confirmed is every number attached to any of that. No skill multipliers, no Core Passive text, no Mindscape Cinema details, no ascension or skill-level material list. Anything you have seen with damage percentages on it is not sourced from HoYoverse.
When does Roxy's banner actually release?
Two independent lines of evidence land on the same day.
The first-party line. The Version 3.2 Limited-Time Channels notice gives the Phase I period as "After the Version 3.2 Update – 2026/09/30 11:59 (server time)." That is when Claret's Bloodmoon Rising and Nangong Yu's Axiom of Captivation close. Read every Limited-Time Channels notice from Version 1.7 to Version 3.1 and the pattern is unbroken: in all eleven versions that shipped a second-half channel, it opened at exactly 12:00 server time on the same day Phase I ended at 11:59. One minute of downtime, every time. Version 2.5 is the only gap in that run, and only because it shipped no second phase at all.
The cadence line. Character Demos are posted to HoYoLAB at exactly 12:00, and the last six — Starlight - Billy, Velina, Norma, Remielle, Sigrid and Claret — each landed exactly five days before their Agent's channel opened. Those same six demos are spaced exactly 21 days apart, one after another. Roxy's demo posted today, 2026-09-25. Five days forward is 2026-09-30.
Worth being precise about what this is: the date is a projection, not a published fact, and the demo cadence has been looser in the past — the demo before this streak, Promeia's, landed four days out rather than five, and the spacing wobbled between 19 and 22 days. What makes 2026-09-30 safe to plan around is that the loose signal and the hard first-party signal agree. We dug into the full derivation, including the earlier gaps, in our ZZZ Roxy release date breakdown.
The Version 3.2 Phase II notice itself is still pending — it typically posts a couple of days before the swap, so expect it around 2026-09-28. That notice is the one that turns the projection into a fact, and it will also confirm Promeia's channel name and the Phase II Signal Customization list.
Why is a Wind Stun Agent a bigger deal than it sounds?
Wind is new and Wind is thin.
The Wind Attribute did not exist until Version 2.8, added in the update that went live 2026/05/06. Going through every limited Signal Search from Version 1.7 to Version 3.2 and extracting the featured S-Ranks gives 33 distinct S-Rank Agents. Exactly one of them is Wind: Velina (Wind - Anomaly).
So within that enumerated scope, Roxy is the second S-Rank Wind Agent ever and the first Wind Stun Agent, period. If you have been sitting on Wind Drive Disc sets or a Wind-damage build with nowhere to put it, this is the release that unlocks it.
The practical read: Stun Agents are a team role, not a damage check. They exist to break the enemy's Daze bar and hand the window to your main DPS. A brand-new Attribute in that slot means Wind teams stop being a one-Agent curiosity and start being a composition. Our ZZZ best teams guide covers how the Stun slot interacts with the rest of a lineup if that structure is new to you.
Which teams can you plan for Roxy right now?
Without her numbers, team-building is directional rather than optimised. Two directions are safe.
Claret. This is the intended pairing and the one the story sells — Claret is Roxy's boss and the version's other new Agent. More usefully, Claret's Additional Ability, "Bloodline Legacy," activates when her squad includes a Stun or Armorer teammate, or another Electric Agent. Roxy satisfies that condition by Specialty alone, with no Attribute overlap required. If you pulled Claret in Phase I, Roxy is a direct enabler for her.
Velina. The only other Wind S-Rank in the game. Anomaly and Stun are complementary roles rather than competing ones, and any Wind-Attribute team bonus that exists will only have these two Agents to work with for now.
What you should not do is commit Drive Discs before her Core Passive is published. Stun Agents are typically built around Impact and energy generation, but the Armorer Specialty that launched this same version proved HoYoverse is willing to move an Agent's scaling stat somewhere unexpected — Claret scales her skills off DEF. Wait for the kit page.
What should you do before September 30?
Know where your pity actually sits. This is the single most misunderstood thing about a phase swap. The Version 3.2 Limited-Time Channels notice states it plainly: "The search count for guaranteed signals is cumulative across all Exclusive Channels, but is independent of and unaffected by other types of channels." Your pity does not reset when Phase I ends. Pulls you spent on Claret or Nangong Yu carry straight into Roxy's channel. The W-Engine Channel keeps a completely separate counter. Full mechanics in our ZZZ pity system explainer.
Clear the events that close first. Phase I's swap is not the only deadline in the window. "Advanced Bounty: Area Patrol" — the one that doubles Area Patrol rewards — closes at 2026/09/28 03:59, two days before the swap, and two fresh events, "Diary of an Orbie Parent" and "En-Nah" Into Your Lap, open at 10:00 on 2026/09/30, the same morning the banner flips.
Count your Polychrome honestly. HoYoverse publishes the version length outright: "Version 3.2 will run for 42 days, ending on 2026/10/21 06:00 (UTC+8)." Nine of its eleven in-game events close before the version itself does — seven of them inside a single 24-hour band the day before the patch ends — so several Polychrome sources are on a shorter clock than the version. Our ZZZ Polychrome farming guide lists what is still open. Logging in across the version period also grants a cumulative 10 Encrypted Master Tapes and 10 Boopons.
Decide about the W-Engine separately. Crimson Moon Casket runs on its own channel with its own counter, and that counter does not talk to the Agent channel in either direction. That is a second budget, not a bonus. If you can only fund one, the Agent is the one that changes your roster.
What is still unconfirmed about Roxy?
Being explicit about the gaps, because a lot of Roxy coverage is not:
- Her skill kit in numbers. "Eyes of the Storm" is official. Multipliers, Daze values, Core Passive and Mindscape text are not published.
- Ascension and skill materials. No official list exists yet.
- The Phase II notice. Due approximately 2026-09-28. Until it posts, the 2026/09/30 12:00 open is a projection from a perfect eleven-version pattern, not a printed date.
- Anything about Phoenix or Severian. Both were officially revealed via Agent Records on 2026-09-12, but neither has a confirmed Attribute, Specialty, or version. See our ZZZ upcoming characters tracker for what is genuinely known.
If a site is giving you Roxy's damage numbers today, it is guessing.
FAQ
When does Roxy release in ZZZ? Her Cindernight Respite Signal Search is expected to open 2026/09/30 at 12:00 server time, immediately after Version 3.2 Phase I ends at 11:59 that day. HoYoverse has confirmed the Phase I end time; the Phase II open time is a projection from the eleven previous versions that shipped a second-half channel, every one of which used the same one-minute swap. Note that "server time" means your account's region — the same 12:00 unlock is 13 hours apart for an Asia account and an America account.
What element and role is Roxy? S-Rank, Wind Attribute, Stun Specialty. That combination is confirmed in the official Version 3.2 Update Announcement.
Is Roxy the first Wind Stun Agent? Yes. Across every limited Signal Search from Version 1.7 to Version 3.2, only one other S-Rank Wind Agent has appeared — Velina, who is Wind Anomaly. Wind itself was only added to the game in Version 2.8.
What is Roxy's signature W-Engine? Crimson Moon Casket, an S-Rank Stun W-Engine, available on its own Signal Search channel during Phase II.
Who reruns alongside Roxy? Promeia, with her Exclusive W-Engine, per HoYoverse's Version 3.2 press release. Nangong Yu was the Phase I rerun.
Does my pity carry over to Roxy's banner? Yes. The Version 3.2 notice states the guaranteed-signal search count is cumulative across all Exclusive Channels. Pulls spent on Claret or Nangong Yu count toward Roxy. The W-Engine Channel tracks separately.
How many pulls should I save? HoYoverse does not publish a target, and the honest answer depends on your current pity and whether you also want Crimson Moon Casket. Check your Signal Search history in-game first, then budget the Agent channel before the W-Engine channel.
Is Roxy good with Claret? Mechanically, yes — Claret's Additional Ability "Bloodline Legacy" triggers on a Stun or Armorer teammate, and Roxy is a Stun Agent. How good depends on numbers that are not published yet.
