The Scale of the Sands arrived with the Battle for Mount Hyjal in Phase 3. $15.29 per 1,000 reputation.
The attunement quest pays you 3,000 up front. Completing The Vials of Eternity puts that straight into the bar before you have killed anything, so budget the counter accordingly.
Then it comes from kills inside the instance: trash at 12 each, the frost wyrm bosses at 60, and Archimonde at 375 — the single biggest chunk available. Note the trash pays nothing until the first defence wave is down.
The reward line is a ring you upgrade, not a vendor purchase — this is the part rival pages get wrong. At each standing you take a quest and the ring improves:
- Friendly — the Pledge, which grants a Band of Eternity;
- Honored — the Vow;
- Revered — the Oath;
- Exalted — the Covenant, which finishes it as the Band of the Eternal Champion, Sage, Defender or Restorer, depending on your role.
Indormi, inside the instance, sells the epic gem jewelcrafting designs and gates them behind Friendly, Honored and Revered — another reason this reputation is worth more in Phase 3 than its raw numbers suggest.
