Updated October 22, 2026 · applies to Season 88 (Shocktober), the October 6 balance patch and the October 19 balance update.
Quick answer: The best deck for Arena 7 (Royal Arena, 2,000–2,299 trophies) in October 2026 is a Hog Rider Valkyrie cycle: Hog Rider, Musketeer, Valkyrie, Cannon, Fireball, Zap, Skeletons and Electro Spirit (2.9 Elixir). All eight cards are Common or Rare, so it's the cheapest strong deck to level. If you want to use Royal Arena's own cards, run Royal Giant beatdown (RoyaleTracker's top-recommended Arena 7 deck, 3.9 Elixir) or a Balloon deck (3.0 Elixir). Every card in all three decks unlocks at or before Arena 7.
Royal Arena is the arena where the Trophy Road hands you real win conditions. Royal Giant, Royal Hogs, Balloon, Prince, Dark Prince, Three Musketeers and Royal Recruits all unlock here, and suddenly every opponent has a different way to take your tower. It's also where most "best deck" lists stop being useful, because they're built around The Log, Ice Golem, Ice Spirit or Princess, and none of those exist for you yet. This guide only uses cards you can have at 2,000 trophies, explains why each deck works at this range, and covers what Supercell's two October balance passes changed.
Key takeaways
- Arena 7 is Royal Arena, from 2,000 to 2,299 trophies, with a King Level 7 requirement. At 2,300 you move into Arena 8, Frozen Peak (Clash Royale Wiki: Arenas).
- Royal Arena unlocks 7 cards: Royal Giant, Royal Recruits (Common), Royal Hogs, Three Musketeers (Rare), Prince, Dark Prince and Balloon (Epic).
- Best all-round pick: Hog Rider Valkyrie cycle (2.9 Elixir). Valkyrie clears the ground swarms that fill this arena: Skeleton Army, Goblin Barrel and Witch skeletons.
- Three Musketeers is the highest win-rate card at Arena 7 on RoyaleTracker's Arena 7 card tiers (checked October 22, 2026): 52.3% against a 49.41% baseline (RoyaleTracker: Arena 7). Supercell gave it +3% hitpoints (883 → 906) on October 6.
- Minion Giant was nerfed twice in October: hit speed 1.5s → 1.7s on October 6, then damage 168 → 153 on October 19 (October Balance Changes). It's still in 7.5% of Arena 7 decks.
- No Wild slot yet. At Arena 7 you have one Evolution slot and one Hero slot. The Wild slot opens at Arena 10.
Which cards can you use at Arena 7?
Your card pool at Royal Arena is everything from the Training Camp through Arena 7. Epics opened one arena earlier at P.E.K.K.A's Playhouse. Legendaries open at Arena 11 and Champion cards at Arena 16 (Clash Royale Wiki: Arenas).
| Arena | Trophies | Cards it unlocks |
|---|---|---|
| Training Camp + Arena 1 | 0–299 | Knight, Archers, Musketeer, Giant, Mini P.E.K.K.A., Minions, Arrows, Fireball, Goblins, Spear Goblins, Goblin Cage, Goblin Hut |
| 2 · Bone Pit | 300–599 | Skeletons, Bomber, Valkyrie, Tombstone |
| 3 · Barbarian Bowl | 600–999 | Cannon, Barbarians, Mega Minion, Battle Ram |
| 4 · Spell Valley | 1,000–1,299 | Wizard, Inferno Tower, Bomb Tower, Skeleton Dragons, Fire Spirit, Electro Spirit |
| 5 · Builder's Workshop | 1,300–1,599 | Hog Rider, Zap, Mortar, Rocket, Bats, Flying Machine, Minion Giant |
| 6 · P.E.K.K.A's Playhouse | 1,600–1,999 | P.E.K.K.A., Goblin Barrel, Baby Dragon, Witch, Skeleton Army, Guards |
| 7 · Royal Arena | 2,000–2,299 | Royal Giant, Royal Recruits, Royal Hogs, Three Musketeers, Prince, Dark Prince, Balloon |
The cards that catch people out: Ice Spirit, Ice Golem, Giant Snowball, Freeze and Lightning all unlock one arena later in Frozen Peak. Goblin Gang, Dart Goblin, Barbarian Barrel and Poison wait until Jungle Arena (Arena 9), and The Log, Princess, Miner and Mega Knight are Legendaries that unlock at Arena 11. If a deck list includes any of them, it wasn't written for Royal Arena.
What is the best deck for Arena 7 right now?
Our pick for most players between 2,000 and 2,299 trophies is the Hog Rider Valkyrie cycle. It's a cheap Hog deck built only from cards you own by Royal Arena, with Valkyrie in the slot where higher-arena versions run The Log. All eight cards are Common or Rare. Those drop far more often from chests, the Shop and clan donations than Epics, so this is the deck you can level fastest.
The deck (2.9 average Elixir):
| Card | Elixir | Rarity | Job |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hog Rider | 4 | Rare | Win condition |
| Musketeer | 4 | Rare | Ranged support, air defence |
| Valkyrie | 4 | Rare | Splash mini-tank, clears ground swarms |
| Cannon | 3 | Common | Building that pulls Royal Giant, Hog and Giant |
| Fireball | 4 | Rare | Medium spell |
| Zap | 2 | Common | Small spell, reset |
| Skeletons | 1 | Common | Cheapest distraction in the game |
| Electro Spirit | 1 | Common | Chain stun, cycle |
That's 23 Elixir across 8 cards, a 2.875 average that shows in-game as 2.9.
Why Valkyrie: Royal Arena is full of ground swarms. Skeleton Army and Witch came in at Arena 6, and Goblin Barrel got faster on October 6 (first hit 0.4s → 0.3s). At Level 11 Valkyrie has 1,907 HP and hits every ground troop around her for 266 (Clash Royale Wiki: Valkyrie). She clears those for 4 Elixir, and if she survives she can tank in front of a Hog Rider counter-push in the same lane. She can't hit air, so Minions, Bats and Skeleton Dragons are Musketeer's job.
How to play it: defend cheaply, then counter-punch. Cannon in the middle plus one support card handles most single pushes for a positive Elixir trade. When your opponent spends big on their own attack, send a lone Hog Rider at the other lane. Hog Rider has 1,697 HP and hits for 317 at Level 11, so every connect matters. Keep Zap for Skeleton Army on your Hog and Fireball for Musketeer, Wizard or Witch behind their tower.
One thing changed for Electro Spirit: since the August 2026 balance changes it no longer damages Crown Towers on its own, has 215 HP, and dies in one shot to Musketeer and Archers. On August 26 its chain range also dropped from 4 tiles to 3 (Final August Balance Changes). It's still a 1-Elixir stun, but play it as a defensive card, not as free chip damage.
Once you reach Arena 11, the same deck becomes the classic 2.6 Hog Cycle: Ice Golem, Ice Spirit and The Log replace Valkyrie, Electro Spirit and Zap.
Is Royal Giant good at Arena 7?
It's playable, and it's the deck RoyaleTracker currently recommends first for Arena 7: "The best deck for Arena 7 right now uses Royal Giant, Witch and Mini P.E.K.K.A." (RoyaleTracker: Arena 7). Royal Giant is a Common that unlocks here. He costs 6 Elixir, has 3,164 HP at Level 11 and hits buildings for 307 from medium range, so he starts shooting a Crown Tower before most defences reach him (Clash Royale Wiki: Royal Giant). Your Trophy Road offers 300 copies of Royal Giant at 2,025 trophies, which makes him the easiest win condition in the arena to level.
The deck (3.9 average Elixir):
- Royal Giant (win condition, 6)
- Witch (splash support, 5)
- Mini P.E.K.K.A. (tank killer, 4)
- Valkyrie (splash mini-tank, 4)
- Minions (air defence, 3)
- Skeleton Army (defence, 3)
- Cannon (building, 3)
- Arrows (small spell, 3)
That's 31 Elixir, a 3.875 average, which shows in-game as 3.9.
How to play it: defend the first minute with Cannon, Mini P.E.K.K.A. and Valkyrie, then play Royal Giant at the bridge with Witch or Valkyrie right behind him. Royal Giant only targets buildings, so he needs support to deal with Mini P.E.K.K.A., Prince or a Skeleton Army. Use Arrows on Minions or Goblins defending him.
The trade-off: there's no big spell and no fast answer to Balloon except Minions and Witch. It's also heavy, with two 5-and-6 Elixir cards, so a fast Hog player will punish slow pushes. If you lose a lot to Balloon, swap Skeleton Army for Musketeer.
Is Balloon good at Arena 7?
Yes, if you like fast tower damage. Balloon unlocks in Royal Arena. It flies, so ground defences like Cannon and Mini P.E.K.K.A. can't touch it, and at Level 11 it hits a building for 640 every 2 seconds and drops 240 more when it dies (Clash Royale Wiki: Balloon). Two hits on a Crown Tower is a big swing at this level. Freeze isn't available until Arena 8, so this version uses Fireball to clear the air defence instead.
The deck (3.0 average Elixir):
- Balloon (win condition, 5)
- Knight (tank in front of the Balloon, 3)
- Musketeer (air defence, 4)
- Mega Minion (air defence, tank killer, 3)
- Bomber (swarm defence, 2)
- Skeletons (cycle + distraction, 1)
- Fireball (medium spell, 4)
- Zap (small spell, 2)
That's 24 Elixir, a 3.0 average.
How to play it: win the defensive fight first, then send Knight and Balloon together at the bridge so the Crown Tower shoots the Knight while the Balloon flies past. If their Musketeer or Minions go for the Balloon, Fireball or Zap them as it reaches the tower. Bomber's damage dropped from 225 to 212 in September (September Balance Changes, dated September 2026), so place it behind your tower rather than in front of a swarm.
When to avoid it: Balloon is an Epic, and Epic copies are much harder to find than the Hog cycle's Commons and Rares. Against Musketeer plus Inferno Tower defences, Balloon struggles until you unlock Freeze at the next arena. Our Arena 8 deck guide covers the full Balloon Freeze version.
What decks will you face in Royal Arena?
RoyaleTracker's card tiers for Arena 7 (snapshot checked October 22, 2026) show what's winning at this range (RoyaleTracker: Arena 7):
| Card | Win rate | Use rate | What to do about it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Three Musketeers | 52.3% | 1.9% | Attack the other lane the moment they spend 9 Elixir. Fireball catches two of them if they bunch. |
| Skeleton Dragons | 52.1% | 2.9% | Musketeer, Minions or Mega Minion. Keep one air-targeting card in hand. |
| Dark Prince | 51.4% | 3.1% | His 256-HP shield soaks damage first. Pull him with Cannon and finish with Mini P.E.K.K.A. or Valkyrie. |
| Minion Giant | 51.0% | 7.5% | Musketeer or Minions. It's slower and weaker after two October nerfs. |
| Fireball | 50.2% | 22.5% | Don't stack Musketeer and Witch in one spot. |
(The baseline win rate across all cards at Arena 7 is 49.41%.)
A note on that data: the cards with the best win rates here are mostly heavy or niche, and very few players use them. The win conditions in our three decks don't top the chart. RoyaleTracker lists Hog Rider at 47.9% while it sits in 14.0% of Arena 7 decks, and Royal Giant at 45.5%. We picked these decks because they're cheap to level, easy to learn, and still work at Arena 11 and beyond, not because they win the most games at 2,000 trophies. If you already have Three Musketeers, Giant or Dark Prince levelled, a deck built around them is a fair choice.
- Three Musketeers. Supercell's October 6 note: "Three Musketeers already pack plenty of firepower, but we're giving them a little more staying power to boost their offense." They now have 906 HP each at Level 11. The answer is still the same: the 9-Elixir split leaves them broke, so punish the opposite lane right away.
- Minion Giant. It's the second most-used win condition here after Hog Rider (7.5% of decks vs 14.0%) and has been legal since Arena 5. Supercell slowed it on October 6 because it "was too punishing for a flying win condition," and cut its damage on October 19. Our Minion Giant counter guide has the full breakdown.
- Royal Hogs and Balloon. Both are new for everyone in this arena. Royal Hogs are four 837-HP hogs at Level 11. Valkyrie and Bomber shred them. Keep one air-targeting card in hand at all times for Balloon.
- Goblin Barrel. It was buffed on October 6, so the Goblins start hitting sooner. Hold Zap, Arrows or Valkyrie when you know it's in their deck.
- Skeletons. The October 19 update made them always split on middle tiles (spawn spread 0.4 → 0.5 tiles), after Supercell had tightened their spawn on October 6. Splash still kills them, so don't drop them onto a Valkyrie or Witch.
Do you need Evolutions or Heroes at Arena 7?
No. All three decks work with no Evolution and no Hero. At Royal Arena you have one Evolution slot and one Hero slot (the Hero slot opened at Arena 5). The Wild slot, which takes either an Evolution or a Hero, opens at Arena 10 (Clash Royale Wiki: Arenas). Royal Arena's Trophy Road gives you 3 Evolved Archers shards at 2,250 trophies, a free start on Evolved Archers if you want to add them later.
If you own a Hero whose base card is already in your deck, slot it in. Hero Musketeer fits the Hog and Balloon decks, and Hero Mini P.E.K.K.A. fits Royal Giant (our Hero Mini P.E.K.K.A. guide). Since the August 2026 balance changes, Hero and Champion abilities fire once per deployment (Boss Bandit is the only exception), so save the ability for the fight it decides. Our Clash Royale Heroes guide explains how Hero Coins and the Hero slot work.
How do you get out of Royal Arena faster?
Royal Arena's Trophy Road has five rewards (Clash Royale Wiki: Arenas):
| Trophies | Reward |
|---|---|
| 2,025 | 300 copies of Royal Giant or Royal Recruits (your choice) |
| 2,100 | 10 Rare Wild Cards |
| 2,150 | 60 copies of Three Musketeers or Royal Hogs (your choice) |
| 2,200 | Cheer Knight emote |
| 2,250 | 3 Evolved Archers shards |
Take Royal Giant at 2,025 if you play the beatdown deck. Royal Recruits fits none of the three decks. Spend the 10 Rare Wild Cards on your Hog Rider or Musketeer. Gold per level is the same for every rarity, so a Common-heavy deck doesn't save Gold. Its advantage is that the copies are much easier to find.
Three habits get you to 2,300 faster than switching decks:
- Pick one deck and stay with it. You only learn matchups by playing them.
- Play for Elixir trades, not kills. Spending 6 Elixir of spells to stop a 3-Elixir push is a slow loss even if it clears.
- Don't rage-queue. Once you've reached Royal Arena, your trophies can't drop below 2,000, because the arena's Trophy Gate holds you there. Ten minutes off still beats playing tilted.
Once you hit 2,300, our best deck for Arena 8 (Frozen Peak) picks up where this guide ends, and Giant Snowball and Ice Golem slot into the Hog cycle. After that comes Arena 9 (Jungle Arena). For the whole ladder, see all 32 Clash Royale arenas in order.
