Brawl Stars v70 balance changes part 1 grid from creator Chosen showing buffs for Shelly, Chuck, Hank, Draco, Darryl, Melodie and mixed changes for Cosmo, Damian, Surge and Squeak

Last checked: October 30, 2026. This is a work-in-progress preview, not live patch notes. Sources: the V70 grids from creator Chosen, shared on r/BrawlStarsCompetitive, the full itemized list from Brawl Stars Dicas, and the official @BrawlStars Brawl Talk post. Live win rates come from Brawl Time Ninja.

Supercell let partner creators reveal the next balance list a day before the Brawl Talk, and at 27 Brawlers it's bigger than the 21 touched on September 16. Shade and Gus each take seven separate nerfs. Amber takes five. Meanwhile Chuck, Darryl and Melodie finally keep their remaining Super charges when they die, the change their players have asked for over a long stretch.

Nothing below is in the game yet. Supercell's creators are calling it a pre-balance list, and values can move before release.

Quick answer (TLDR): The V70 preview changes 27 Brawlers: 10 buffs, 12 nerfs and 5 mixed or neutral changes, across about 70 line items by our count. The biggest nerfs hit Shade (Health 7,400 → 6,800, Super 6s → 4s), Gus (max spirits 10 → 3, Knockback Spirit 18s → 26s) and Amber (Dancing Flames 14s → 20s, Super burn 960 → 800). The biggest buffs go to Draco (Super damage 2,240 → 3,280 on the Chosen card, though sources disagree on this value), Melodie, Chuck and Darryl (unused Super charges kept on defeat) and Hank (Health 11,000 → 12,000). The list is WIP and not live. The Brawl Talk is scheduled for October 31, 16:00 UTC, and Season 56 is due on November 5.

Are the V70 balance changes live yet?

No. The list is a preview of the next update, and Brawl Stars Dicas labels it a pre-balance list that "can still receive adjustments" before it reaches the game (translated from Portuguese). The official notes haven't been published, and Supercell hasn't given a release date for the patch.

Here's the timeline we can back up:

Date (2026)What happensStatus
September 16Last balance changes, 12 Brawlers buffed and 9 nerfedLive
October 30V70 list revealed by partner creatorsWIP preview
October 31, 16:00 UTCBrawl Talk premiere on YouTubeScheduled
November 5, 08:00 UTCSeason 55 ends, Season 56 beginsScheduled
November 20–22World Finals in TokyoScheduled

Season launches usually ship with the balance pass, so November 5 is a reasonable guess. It's still a guess until Supercell says so. The next update also carries the official video title "Ranked Refresh, 3 New Brawlers and traditional Brawlidays," so expect more meta movement on top of this list.

One rule from the preview matters for reading the numbers. If a Brawler's attack or Super damage changes, the charge rate is adjusted so it still takes the same number of hits to charge, unless the list says otherwise. So Shelly's damage buff doesn't slow her Super.

Which Brawlers got nerfed in V70?

Twelve Brawlers take straight nerfs. Most of the list targets the Buffie-era picks that have owned Ranked. Values below are as printed on the preview cards, which use Power 11 numbers (Shade's 7,400 Health is double the 3,700 base stat).

The Ash, Brock, Rico, Maisie, Pierce and Nori lines come from the itemized Dicas list. They didn't appear on the grids we could read at full size, so treat them as single-sourced until the official notes land.

Why are Shade, Gus and Amber getting nerfed so hard?

Because they're dominating. On SeeMeta's Ranked tier list, Amber sits at 55.7% and Shade at 55.2%, both S+. Gus has the highest pick rate of that top group at 5.5%. On Brawl Time Ninja, Shade is third for win-rate advantage at +5.6%, based on 26M battles.

All three also got Buffies recently. Supercell's Buffie rollout added the Poco's Bandstand and Ghost Station machines on September 1, and that's where Amber, Shade and Gus get theirs.

Gus V70 nerf cards showing max spirits, Knockback Spirit and Health Bonanza changes

Gus's spirit cap is the change to watch. Dropping from 10 to 3 should badly limit the stacked-healing plan, and the Knockback Spirit nerf weakens his panic button at the same time. Community reaction leans the same way: in the thread, players expect him to fall back to the other build, with Kooky Popper and Spirit Animal. Whether that build holds up after the 8% Super charge nerf is the real question.

Shade's nerf is more of a pile-on. Losing 2 seconds of Super is a third of its uptime, and the Jump Scare shield drops by 60%. The wiki still lists Hardened Hoodie's Buffie as adding a second of Super, so the build doesn't vanish.

Which Brawlers got buffed in V70?

Ten Brawlers are primarily buffed, though Ziggy's Star Power also takes a cut. The headline is the rule change for Melodie, Chuck and Darryl, the three Brawlers who stack Super charges.

Today, any charges left over after you've spent some are lost when you die. Chuck is a partial exception: Supercell's August release notes say he "keeps his Super on respawn if it was full," but not if he already used it. After V70, all three keep whatever charges remain. Reddit user u/MythicMortis, who campaigned for it, wrote: "I have been pushing for this change for Melodie, Chuck and Darryl for so long." Expect a real jump in value for Melodie in Heist and Chuck in any long mode, because a respawn no longer wipes a half-spent Super.

The Draco number needs a flag. The Chosen card reads 2,240 → 3,280, and Reddit user u/AloneComplaint8941 works that out as "1 flame goes from 140 to 205 damage." The Dicas list prints 900 → 982 for the same line, so wait for the official notes before you trust the exact value. Both agree on the direction, and Draco already sits at 71.4% on Brawl Time Ninja.

What about Surge, Cosmo, Damian, Squeak and Kit?

These five get mixed or neutral changes, so check the net effect before you panic or celebrate.

BrawlerBetterWorse
SurgeUnload time −14.9% (470 ms → 400 ms), Power Shield cooldown 22s → 18sHypercharge no longer gives instant Level 5, Power Shield Buffie refund 50% → 30%
CosmoHealth 6,800 → 7,200Telescope Trap cooldown 20s → 24s, trap area −23%
DamianPunch 1,400 → 1,600, fire punch 1,600 → 1,760Super jump speed −20%
SqueakAttack 2,320 → 2,560, Super 2,000 → 2,200Chain Reaction bonus 15% → 10%
KitSuper ticks land sooner: 0.75s and 1.5s, not 1s and 2sNone listed

Surge's change is the sneaky one. Players in the thread read it this way: popping Hypercharge at Stage 1 no longer jumps you straight to full power, so you can stay slow. That lowers his comeback potential even with the faster attack.

Cosmo is the odd case. He leads Brawl Time Ninja at 76.3% on a 1.23% use rate, and he comes out with more Health. That low use rate means we treat the number with caution, but the trap nerf looks minor next to the Health gain, so he should stay strong.

Who wins and loses the V70 meta?

Our read, assuming the list ships close to this form. Reddit user u/pyxis_max posted that every S-tier Brawler was nerfed, and that's right for most lists, but not all of them. Bolt, Vince, Ollie and Juju aren't on the list at all. Bolt is second for win-rate advantage at +6.3%, and Brawl Planet had Vince on top at 65.9% when we checked on October 30.

  • Likely winners: Bolt and Vince (untouched while rivals fall), Draco, Melodie, Chuck and Hank. Tanks also lose a counter, since Maisie's attack drops about 9%.
  • Likely losers: Gus (his sustain plan), Shade (uptime and survivability), Max (slower Super charge plus a weaker Sneaky Sneakers).
  • Still dangerous: Amber and Wendy. Reddit user u/YesOhXD said of Wendy: "They still didn't nerf her core mechanic." She stays first for win-rate advantage at +6.7% until the patch lands.

Treat this as a forecast. Our October tier list still reflects the live game, and we'll re-rank after the update ships.

What should you do before the update?

Do these now, while the old values still apply:

  • Hold Buffie spending on Shade, Gus and Amber. A random Buffie pull costs 1,000 Coins and 2,000 Power Points, and these three are losing Buffie value or the kit around it. Wait for the final notes.
  • Push Ranked on the nerfed picks now. If you main Shade, Gus or Amber, your climb will likely get harder once the patch lands. Check our Ranked picks.
  • Put spare resources toward Melodie, Chuck or Darryl if you need them. Kept Super charges change how these three play, not just their numbers.
  • Watch the Brawl Talk. Three new Brawlers and a Ranked Refresh will shift picks further. Our Brawl Talk guide has the background.
  • Claim the free pin. The Brawl Talk description carries a link for a free Question Pin, and Brawl Stars Dicas reports no end date.

Supercell's teaser for the show puts Shade and Amber on the art, with the line: "You'll never touch grass again" (@BrawlStars). Spare a thought for the two Brawlers on the poster who are about to lose the most.

We'll update this page in place when official notes publish, and on every balance pass after that.

FAQ

When do the Brawl Stars V70 balance changes come out? Supercell hasn't announced a date. Season 56 starts on November 5, 2026 at 08:00 UTC, and balance passes usually arrive with a season, so that's the most likely window. Treat it as an estimate.

Are these V70 changes confirmed? They're a real creator preview, but they're marked work in progress. Brawl Stars Dicas says Supercell gave partner creators the list early, and that values can still change before release. Official release notes will be the final word.

Why is Shade getting nerfed? Shade is one of the strongest Ranked picks right now, at 55.2% on SeeMeta and +5.6% win-rate advantage on Brawl Time Ninja. The preview cuts Health, Super duration, Super charge and Jump Scare in one pass.

Do Melodie, Chuck and Darryl really keep their Super charges? Yes, according to the preview. All three are listed with "unused Super charges kept on defeat," so dying no longer wipes the charges you have left. It's the most-discussed buff in the thread, though it could still change before release.

Should I buy a Buffie for Gus or Shade right now? Wait. Both take heavy nerfs in the preview, and Gus's Buffies are directly hit. Spend after the official notes confirm the final numbers.

Is Bolt getting nerfed in V70? No. Bolt isn't on the preview list, and neither are Vince, Ollie or Juju. Bolt is second for win-rate advantage on Brawl Time Ninja at +6.3%, so he could end up one of the safest picks if the list ships as shown.
