If you are hunting for "Brawl Stars Mastery," here is the first thing you need to know: Mastery no longer exists. Supercell removed it on June 24, 2025 and replaced it with Records — a win-based progression track that works very differently. Most of the guides still floating around describe the old system, so let's clear it up. This guide covers what Records are, every win milestone and its reward, how Record Points and Record Levels work, where your old Mastery titles and pins went, and the fastest, least frustrating way to grind them as of September 2026 (Season 54 "Royal Academy," Update 69 "Brawler Blast").
Quick answer (TLDR): Every Brawler has five Records, unlocked by wins: Beginner (20 wins), Challenger (50), Boss (100), Master (200), and Unstoppable (300), worth 20 / 50 / 100 / 250 / 500 Record Points — 920 points per fully completed Brawler. The first two milestones each hand you a Starr Drop; the rest pay Record Points only. Points raise your account-wide Record Level (roughly Level 1 at 50 points up to Level 10 at 120,000), and each new level unlocks an exclusive Records Battle Card. The single biggest change from Mastery: every win is worth exactly the same, whether you win at 0 Trophies or 1,000. So the efficient play is to farm wins on 2–3 Brawlers you actually win with, on their best maps.

What are Records in Brawl Stars?
Records are an achievement-style, win-count progression system attached to every Brawler. Instead of grinding "Mastery Points" that scaled with your Trophy count, Records simply ask: how many games have you won with this Brawler? Hit a win threshold and you complete that Record, bank its Record Points, and (for the first two tiers) collect a Starr Drop.
You can open Records from Trophy Road or from any Brawler's profile / selection screen — the win-progress bar sits right on the Brawler.
The system launched in the June 24, 2025 update, when Supercell retired Mastery. As the official announcement put it, "The Mastery cosmetics are going to the new feature Records (Player Icons, Pins, and Titles)" — so nothing you earned was deleted, it just moved.
Records vs Mastery: what actually changed?
This is the part that trips everyone up, because the two systems look similar on the surface — both are per-Brawler tracks with tiers and cosmetic rewards. The mechanics underneath are almost opposite:
- Mastery counted points that scaled with Trophies. A win at 900 Trophies was worth far more Mastery than a win at 100, and being "Star Player" added a bonus. Grinding Mastery meant pushing high-Trophy Brawlers.
- Records count wins, flat. One win = +1 on the Record, full stop — at 0 Trophies or 1,000. There is no Star Player bonus, no Trophy scaling. This is, by far, the biggest difference and it completely changes the optimal grind.
The practical result: under Mastery you climbed with your strongest, highest-Trophy Brawlers. Under Records, the smart move is to win a lot of easy games — new accounts and low-Trophy smurf-style grinds are, mechanically, just as valuable per win as high-level play.
Every Record tier, win goal and reward
Here is the full ladder, identical for every Brawler in the game:
| Record tier | Wins required | Record Points | Extra reward |
|---|---|---|---|
| Beginner | 20 | 20 | Starr Drop |
| Challenger | 50 | 50 | Starr Drop |
| Boss | 100 | 100 | — |
| Master | 200 | 250 | — |
| Unstoppable | 300 | 500 | — |
| Total | 300 | 920 | 2 Starr Drops |
A few things worth calling out:
- The wins are cumulative, not per-tier. "Boss" is your 100th total win on that Brawler, not 100 more after Challenger.
- Only the first two tiers (Beginner, Challenger) give a Starr Drop. The last three are pure Record Points.
- 920 Record Points is the ceiling per Brawler. With 107 Brawlers live in September 2026, a fully maxed account is a very long grind — which is exactly why Record Levels stretch into the tens of thousands of points.
What counts as a "win" for Records?
Not every game mode reports a win the same way. Based on the current rules:
- 3v3 modes (Gem Grab, Brawl Ball, Knockout, Heist, Bounty, Hot Zone) — a match win counts as 1.
- Solo Showdown — a top-4 finish counts as a win.
- Duo / Trio Showdown — a top-2 finish counts.
- Ranked at higher tiers reports one win per series, not per round, once you are in best-of-3 territory (Mythic and up).
- Duels credit the first Brawler you selected in the set.
Because Records live on a specific Brawler, you only progress the Brawler you actually played the winning game with — so mode choice and Brawler choice both matter.
How Record Points and Record Levels work
Every Record you complete feeds Record Points into your account-wide Record Level — a single number that climbs as you complete Records across your whole roster. The thresholds ramp up steeply:
- Level 1 ≈ 50 Record Points
- Level 5 ≈ 7,000 Record Points
- Level 10 ≈ 120,000 Record Points
Each time you hit a new Record Level, you unlock an exclusive Records Battle Card — the cosmetic frame shown on your profile. Your Record Points total is also displayed on your player profile, so a high Record Level is a visible "I've put in the hours" flex, the same social role Mastery used to fill.

Where did my Mastery titles, pins and icons go?
If you earned Brawler Titles, Facepalm Pins, or secondary Profile Icons from Mastery, they weren't taken away — but they also don't come from Records anymore. On February 25, 2026, Supercell moved those cosmetic rewards off Records and onto Trophy Tiers instead. In plain terms:
- Records now reward Starr Drops (on the first two tiers) and Record Points → Record Levels → Battle Cards.
- Brawler cosmetics (Titles, Facepalm Pins, secondary icons) are now earned by hitting Trophy milestones on that Brawler, tied to the Prestige/Trophy Tier system.
So if your goal is a specific Brawler Title, you now chase its Trophies, not its Records. If your goal is Starr Drops and profile Battle Cards, you chase Records. Two tracks, two reward pools — don't confuse them.
How to grind Records fast (without burning out)
Because every win is worth the same, efficiency comes down to win rate and volume, not Trophy level. The optimal approach:
- Pick 2–3 Brawlers you genuinely win with. Spreading wins thin across your whole roster feels productive but completes nothing. Concentrate.
- Play them on their best maps and modes. Check a live tier source for the current rotation (brawlify.com or brawltime.ninja) and only queue the maps where your pick is strong. A 60% win rate finishes a Record roughly twice as fast as a 40% one.
- Farm at low Trophies if you're pushing volume. Since a 0-Trophy win = a 1,000-Trophy win, easier lobbies mean faster Records. There's no mechanical reason to grind Records at high Trophies unless you also want the Trophies.
- Stop after a losing streak. Records only move on wins; a tilt streak is pure wasted time. Take the break.
- Lean on winning team comps in 3v3. A duo/trio queue with coordinated picks pushes your win rate — and everyone's Records — up together.
The "Unstoppable" 300-win tier is the long pole. Realistically, you complete it soonest on a Brawler you main and enjoy, in modes where it naturally wins — not by forcing a Brawler you dislike through 300 games.
A quick note on "free" Record shortcuts
There is no legitimate way to skip the win requirement — Records are gated purely on wins, and there is no purchase, code, or "generator" that adds Record Points. Any site promising free gems, free Records, or free Starr Drops in exchange for your account login is a scam designed to steal your Supercell ID. The only real sources of Gems and drops are in-game: the Brawl Pass, Starr Drops, events, and official Supercell offers. Don't hand over your credentials.
FAQ
Is Mastery still in Brawl Stars? No. Mastery was removed on June 24, 2025 and replaced by the Records system. Any guide that still talks about "Mastery Points" scaling with Trophies is describing the retired system — Records count flat wins instead.
How many wins do you need to complete all Records on one Brawler? 300 total wins. The tiers are Beginner (20), Challenger (50), Boss (100), Master (200), and Unstoppable (300), and they are cumulative — Unstoppable is your 300th win overall, not 300 on top of the earlier tiers.
How many Record Points is a fully completed Brawler worth? 920 Record Points — 20 + 50 + 100 + 250 + 500 across the five tiers.
What rewards do Records give? The Beginner (20 wins) and Challenger (50 wins) tiers each give a Starr Drop. The higher three tiers give Record Points only. Those points raise your account-wide Record Level, and each new level unlocks an exclusive Records Battle Card.
Where did my Mastery Titles and Pins go? They moved to Trophy Tiers on February 25, 2026. Brawler Titles, Facepalm Pins, and secondary Profile Icons are now earned by reaching Trophy milestones on a Brawler, not through Records.
Does winning at higher Trophies give more Record progress? No — this is the key change from Mastery. Every win adds exactly 1 to a Brawler's Record whether you win at 0 Trophies or at 1,000, so grinding easy wins is just as efficient as hard ones.
What counts as a win for Records? A 3v3 victory, a top-4 finish in Solo Showdown, or a top-2 finish in Duo/Trio events. In higher Ranked tiers it's one win per series rather than per round, and in Duels only your first-selected Brawler gets credit.
