AZ3 Nuclear Plant is the newest Operations map in Delta Force, added on June 30, 2026 as the centerpiece of Season Meltdown (S10). It is the first extraction map in the game built around a radiation survival mechanic, and it hides the season's toughest PvE target — the Neural Device Agent H1000 boss. This guide covers how to unlock AZ3, what the radiation system actually does, how to route the map for loot, and how to walk out with Black Cards instead of a death screen. Everything below is verified against the official Season Meltdown patch notes (Steam, June 27–30, 2026); numbers apply to the current live build as of August 2026.

Quick answer: what is AZ3 Nuclear Plant?

AZ3 Nuclear Plant is a mid-to-high-tier extraction (Operations) map hosting Easy and Normal difficulties. You unlock AZ3 Easy at Operations Level 9 and AZ3 Normal at Operations Level 14; a Normal run costs 112,500 Tekniq Alloys to enter. The map's signature hazard is radiation: standing in leak zones or looting radiation containers builds up exposure that steadily degrades your character, so you either move fast or bring the Decontamination Chamber upgrade to tank it. The high-value PvE targets are the Neural Device Agent H1000 bosses deep in the reactor core, who drop Collectibles and Boss Black Cards in the new Special Class Mezzanine.

Why is AZ3 different from every other Operations map?

Delta Force's extraction mode already had five maps before Meltdown — Zero Dam, Layali Grove, Brakkesh, Space City and Tide Prison. AZ3 is the sixth, and Team Jade designed it to be dynamic rather than a fixed loot circuit. In the official Meltdown patch notes, the studio describes it this way:

"The new map codenamed 'AZ3' is now officially live! This silent, radiation-ravaged land is home to unique in-match major events, where every call your squad makes will alter the extraction route." — Delta Force Season Meltdown patch notes (Steam, June 30, 2026)

Two things make that concrete. First, the map runs an in-match "Capacitor" puzzle: the official event text tells players to "follow item and environmental cues to crack the complex 'Capacitor' puzzle, uncover hidden search spots, and complete the Nuclear Plant extraction under the pressure of radiation mechanics." Solving it opens hidden loot and can change which extracts are viable. Second, radiation is a genuine survivability gate — the first of its kind in an Operations map — so AZ3 rewards preparation over raw aim.

That combination is exactly why "AZ3 map guide" and "AZ3 radiation guide" are worth reading before you drop: the map punishes players who route it like Zero Dam.

How do you unlock AZ3 Nuclear Plant?

AZ3 is level-gated behind your Operations Level (your extraction-mode account level, not your Warfare rank). The gates come straight from the Meltdown notes:

RequirementUnlock
Operations Level 9AZ3 Easy access + Decontamination Chamber Tier 1
Operations Level 14AZ3 Normal access + Decontamination Chamber Tier 2
Operations Level 27Decontamination Chamber Tier 3

Normal difficulty also charges a flat entry fee of 112,500 Tekniq Alloys — the in-fiction "local currency of Ahsarah" that you earn by looting and selling gear in Operations. Easy mode does not carry that fee, which is why lower-level players farm Easy first. Note that Tekniq Alloys are a soft currency earned in-raid; they are not Delta Coins (the purchase-only premium currency) and the two are not interchangeable.

What does the AZ3 radiation mechanic actually do?

This is the part most players get wrong. Per the patch notes: "Entering leak zones and searching radiation containers builds up radiation exposure, which affects your character." Exposure is not instant death — it accumulates the longer you linger in hot areas and the more irradiated containers you crack open. Left unmanaged, it degrades your character's condition and forces you to cut a run short.

You counter it with the new Black Site → Decontamination Chamber system, which raises your radiation tolerance and speeds up natural decay once you leave a hot zone. The tiers scale like this (official values):

Decontamination ChamberRadiation toleranceNatural decay
Tier 1 (Ops Lv.9)Weak → NormalDecay kicks in earlier: 15s → 10s
Tier 2 (Ops Lv.14)Normal → StrongDecay speed: +0 → +20%
Tier 3 (Ops Lv.27)Strong → Very StrongDecay onset 10s → 5s; decay speed +20% → +50%

Practical takeaway: if you are under Operations Level 14, treat AZ3 as a smash-and-grab — hit the outer, lower-radiation buildings, avoid deep reactor rooms, and extract before exposure climbs. Once you have Tier 2–3 decontamination, the reactor core and radiation containers become farmable because your character sheds exposure fast enough between rooms.

How should you route AZ3 for loot?

AZ3 is laid out as a working power-plant complex with distinct, named sub-areas — the annotated map above marks them. The high-level structure, from the map's perimeter inward:

  • Outer / low-risk ring — Spent Fuel Processing Plant, Drill Academy, Transport Warehouse, Emergency Thermal Power Station and the Security Office Building sit toward the edges. Lower radiation, quieter, good for a fast in-and-out and for finishing gear-based seasonal missions.
  • Mid ring — Pressurized Water Reactor, Wastewater Storage Area and the Stellarator Research Institute carry stronger loot and more contested spawns. This is where most player fights break out.
  • Core / high-risk — the central Sarcophagus reactor structure and the deep core facilities. Highest radiation, the H1000 bosses, and the best Special Class loot. Only push here with decontamination and a plan to extract.

Because "every call your squad makes will alter the extraction route," pre-commit to a bail-out extract before you push the core. The map's in-match events can close or shift routes, and getting trapped in a hot zone with rising exposure and no exit is how good runs die.

Remember the golden rule of Operations while you route: death means you lose everything on your character except what is inside your Safe Box. You respawn kitted with baseline Gear Tickets, but the reds and keycards you were carrying are gone. On a radiation map, greed is taxed twice — once by other players, once by exposure.

Neural Device Agent H1000, the AZ3 boss

Who is the H1000 boss and what does it drop?

The AZ3 boss is the Neural Device Agent H1000. From the Meltdown notes:

"Neural Device Agents lurk deep within the core facilities of AZ3 Nuclear Plant. Outfitted with Neural Devices and jacked into Skynet, they are fast, lethal, and unpredictable. Approach with extreme caution." — Delta Force Season Meltdown patch notes

These are not slow, telegraphed AI. They move quickly, hit hard, and can catch a squad off-guard in tight core corridors. Bring a stable long-range or high-DPS weapon, clear angles before committing, and treat the fight like a PvP engagement — because rival squads will often be hunting the same boss.

The payoff sits in the new Special Class Mezzanine, which appears in Common/Normal Operations on Zero Dam and AZ3. Meltdown's Black Card event puts it plainly: "Head deep into Zero Dam, Layali Grove, or the new Nuclear Plant map, take down Bosses and Special Class enemies, and search for specific Supplies. You just might uncover Black Cards of varying quality." Black Cards and Collectibles are among the highest-value pulls in Operations, which is what makes clearing H1000 worth the radiation risk.

Is AZ3 worth running right now?

Yes — and the timing is good. The current Fortune Run event (added in the August 6, 2026 update and running through September 7) spans a treasure hunt across Operations maps including AZ3, layering extra event rewards on top of the map's normal loot. That makes the map more rewarding to learn now than it will be after the event window closes.

Just be realistic about difficulty. On Easy, AZ3 lobbies are heavily populated by AI, so the "loot" you find is often what bots scraped together — the community consensus on r/DeltaForceGlobal is that Easy is a training-wheels tier, not a payday. Normal (Ops Level 14+) is where you meet real players, real risk and the loot that justifies the 112,500-Alloy entry fee.

A note on account safety

Delta Force runs one of the most aggressive anti-cheat and anti-abuse stacks in the genre — ACE (Anti-Cheat Expert) with Secure Boot and TPM 2.0 requirements on PC — and Team Jade publishes a weekly public enforcement bulletin. The August 10, 2026 edition alone reported over 206,000 account bans in a single week, including a dedicated crackdown on auto-farming and automated multi-client logins, plus device and IP bans. The practical lesson for AZ3 grinders: earn your Tekniq Alloys and Black Cards in-raid. Automated farming tools and account-sharing services are exactly what that enforcement system is built to detect, and the penalties (including multi-year and device-level bans) are not worth it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is AZ3 full of bots? On Easy difficulty, yes — AZ3 Easy lobbies are dominated by AI, and players report that most of what you find there is loot the bots gathered. If you want to fight real players and find worthwhile gear, play Normal (Operations Level 14+) or higher. Easy is best treated as a low-risk place to level up and finish gear-based seasonal missions.

What level do you need to unlock AZ3 Nuclear Plant? You unlock AZ3 Easy at Operations Level 9 and AZ3 Normal at Operations Level 14. Those same milestones also unlock Decontamination Chamber Tier 1 and Tier 2, which you'll want before pushing the map's high-radiation core areas.

How much does it cost to enter AZ3 Normal? A Normal AZ3 run costs 112,500 Tekniq Alloys per entry. Tekniq Alloys are earned by looting and selling gear inside Operations — they are not the same as Delta Coins, which are a purchase-only premium currency and cannot be used for raid entry fees.

How do you survive the radiation on AZ3? Radiation exposure builds up while you stand in leak zones or search radiation containers, and it degrades your character over time. Counter it by upgrading the Decontamination Chamber in your Black Site (Tier 1 at Ops Level 9, Tier 2 at Level 14, Tier 3 at Level 27), which raises tolerance and speeds natural decay. If you don't have those upgrades yet, stick to the outer, lower-radiation buildings and extract before exposure climbs.

Who is the AZ3 boss and what does it drop? The AZ3 boss is the Neural Device Agent H1000, found deep in the reactor core. It's fast and lethal, so approach carefully. Killing it and clearing Special Class enemies can drop Collectibles and Boss Black Cards from the new Special Class Mezzanine — some of the highest-value loot in Operations.

Is this Season 11? No. AZ3 arrived with Season Meltdown, which the official patch notes label S10. Some third-party sites incorrectly call it "Season 11" — the in-game season is Meltdown / S10, live since June 30, 2026.
